Possibly the greatest bookstore of all time. Its at least tied with the Library of Alexandria.. but that place closed so Persnickety is likely the greatest. Its literarily 3 stories of books and hammocks. A veritable paradise. So bring your glasses and turn off your cell phones cuz youre gonna be here awhile :)

This is probably one of the most unique bookstore experiences in the country. The store takes up multiple floors of an unique historic building. The best way I can describe it is a bibliophiles dream treehouse. The blend of open space, cozy nooks, natural light, outstand book selection, fun gifts, and friendly staff makes this place a real treat to explore. No visit to Burlington would be complete without checking out Persnickety Books. Plus they accept book donations and trade-ins and they are partnered with local non-profits who work to reduce recidivism by providing employment for formerly incarcerated people. This place makes me love reading and exploring books even more than I thought I ever could. Love it!

Books, books, and more books! Its deceiving when you first walk in to their store, but the shelves of books just keep on going. Their books are always in good condition and you can always find a title worth reading. The owners are very friendly and they are happy to answer your questions or steer you to a new series worth reading. They just added the upstairs with comfy reading sofas and chairs. Their prices are excellent too!

Great bookstore with a large selection. Darren was a great help and fun to speak with. The books are organized pretty well, and the shop is reminiscent of a simpler time. Prices are a little on the high side with adult hardcovers peaking at $5, unless individually priced otherwise. They have sales from time to time, so I’d definitely keep an eye on them.

Very nice used bookstore, with associated coffee/tea bar and large sunlit reading area. Friendly and helpful staff person waited on me. They provide store credit for books I bring in. I will return.

Cute little bookstore! It appeared that they are just getting organized in some areas, but already have a good selection. Prices are reasonable and the gentleman that works there was very knowledgeable, helpful, and kind.

This is a very interesting little place. It has two stories, and literally thousands of used books. Im not an avid reader, but I think anyone who goes in could definitely find something they would like. Theres even a section for the little ones. The stairs are lined with books so be careful as you explore, but be thorough, you never know what you might find here.

Books galore! Recently had a change in management. Looking forward to see what they do with the place, there is potential to take a great book store and make it a local favorite. We picked up classic kid fiction, new authors they had never read before, and a few books for work that I only got because they were so cheap here. I was glad we went there before I hit up Amazon, saved me a bundle on kids books!

EVERY town should have a used bookstore. Persnickety Books is a great place to frequent and check new arrivals. The atmosphere is great. Such an awesome shop for downtown Burlington!

I came for the poetry night. Ive never been to one before but all the poets were amazing, the atmosphere was welcoming. I cant wait to go back!

Nice little used book store in downtown Burlington. Pretty inexpensive, 4 for hard covers and it goes down from there. It might take some time to go through entire store as it is as organized as best it can be for misc titles and genres.

When this store was owned by the previous management and in the previous location, it was AMAZING! Literally my favorite place to go. After the move and new management, its a MESS! You cant find anything in there, prices went UP, and sections are poorly labeled. Some genres dont even have a section. There are also signs on the shelf saying they lost part of the books during the move. The shelves are messy and a lot of them are just bare. I was extremely disappointed and doubt I will be back. Hospice is better organized and way cheaper!

We went to Persnickety Book Store because they were having a Stupid good sale! Fill up a shopping bag as full as you can get it and pay $10.00. When you stuffed your bag as full as you could get it and took it to the register to pay, they would rearrange your bag so you had more room and send you off looking for MORE! I swear Im still taking pain pills from carrying all those books I got for $10.00. This is one of those great bookstores that smells like old books and knowledge and friendship. Room after room, two stories.....books Galore.....and the proprietors are just Fabulous!! You end up staying forever and finding all the things you were looking for plus all the things you werent. I just loved it here!
