The counter person was awesome but I needed inspection I also needed my tires rotated and air put in I didnt get them rotated or air put in my tires I had to do this out front my self

Ive had my vehicle serviced at Mavis twice in the last month. Both times I was taken care of quickly and professionally. Management handled everything well when during my first service an additional problem was found. They got the parts as quickly as possible and I was able to pick my car up the next morning. Also a very child friendly atmosphere, which is great for moms who might show up on their own with their little one in tow!

Excellent service. Arrived late and didnt confirm appointment online but still they were willing to service my car without anyone being annoyed. Management was very cordial.

We were traveling through Geneva for a few days and realized our tires had some questionable wear and for safety we should replace to drive back to Atlanta. Upon checking availability at quite a few places, Mavis had the size tire we needed. The prices were great and they even made it possible to do same day service when we asked. In addition, we Uber’d to a nearby restaurant and when we went to come back the price tripled!! Mavis sent someone to come pick us up!! This was way above and beyond what I would normally expect and to say I appreciate it doesn’t even fully express how much this meant to me. I am grateful for their professionalism, their quickness to adapt to our needs as travelers on the road.

I went in to the shop and made an appointment for new tires. I showed up for my appointment a few days later and they were out of the tires that I had wanted on my truck. They didnt even call me to tell me they didnt have them. They tried to sell me cheaper tires. They didnt try to make another appointment, tell me when they would get the tires, offer me a discount.....just told me they didnt have the tires that I had made an appointment to put on.

While on vacation in Canandaigua NY I discovered damage to the sidewalls of 3 out of 4 tires on my pickup truck. I called the Mavis in Candandaigua and spoke with LD. He found replacement tires in his warehouse, gave me a competitive price, and scheduled installation for the next day. The following day we dropped the truck off. Bruce called us when the tires arrived and called us again when the installation was finished. I am very satisfied with the ride of the new tires. They even re-checked the torque on the lugnuts after I drove around for 50 miles. I am a very satisfied customer.

Not happy at all. The so called techs cant even handle the simplest requests. I had requested that my General Grabber AT2 tires be installed with the Bold white lettering out. Didnt happen. I also requested that they place my old tired in the back of my truck, they were still good, i was planning on selling them off to someone who had needed them. That didnt happen either. I dropped my truck off early this morning, and got it back just before 5 . The simplest request and they cant handle it. I will NEVER take any of my vehicles there. They are clearly unable to read directions no matter how basic. If they cant handle this minor task, they clearly cant be trusted for anything challenging.

They helped get me rolling quickly when I blew a tire with a new york sinkhole.

I went in to have my car aligned and inspected yesterday. In the last 4 months my father and myself have done brakes all around rotors all around and outer tirods in the front. The mechanic, at Mavis, told me that my car failed inspection because the rotors and calipers in the rear were rotting through. They quoted an extra $600 to fix it and change the oil. I DID NOT NEED THAT DONE! Those parts with exception to the calipers were just changed and I, myself, wire brushed, and greased those so I know they work and function properly. I took my vehicle right to another shop around the corner after calling my dad. They did the EXACT same inspection and SHOWED me that the other mechanic was lying. He said they hear similar stories about Mavis all the time especially with women and older folks. BE CAREFUL!6/16/21The regional district manager did not try to get in touch with me the person that tried to get in touch with me was the manager from the actual store in Canandaigua and no I will not call them back because there is nothing they can do to improve their shotty business practices that they have had for years so I will not waste my time.

I was in the store yesterday I had a great experience Okie/ Steph was extremely helpful. I had a flat tire on my tesla and the hole was way too big so we could not get it plugged and I could not find my exact tire but the team worked it out by finding me another set of tires that worked with the sensors. Plus they gave me a discount on the tires. They worked on my car right away and I was on the road in record time. I greatly appreciate their time and energy in making a solution for me to be able too hit the road and get home in good time. Had my snow tires swapped on 1/10. I was billed for brakes that they did not install as per their admission and I did not request or approve brakes. Invoice says customer states check brakes, customer states check shocks. When I told them I never asked for either they said that they do it as a safety precaution for vehicles with high mileage. Maybe it should say brakes checked as safety precaution then because I NEVER asked for either. Still cant believe they didnt actually replace the brakes at all but charged me for them. Too bad I cant give negative stars.

This place was excellent to deal with. I was four hours away from home and needed a tire replaced. They fit me in their schedule with no advance notice. They talked to me regularly to give me updates. They were very friendly and courteous.

Took my van there in the morning with a flat tire and told them that we NEEDED it by the end of the day. They call 30 minutes before they close and say they can’t fix the tire and a new one is $160!!!!! They say “ it’s the only one they have in that size” I call bull s**t! They take a vantage of someone in a pickle. They didn’t tell us till we had no choice because the day was over. I would give 0 stars but I guess they did put I tire on it.

Pricey place but they get the job done

They tried to scam me out of my money. I came in for brakes. I was told I need 4 brakes and all new rotors. 630 dollars was the price they gave me. When to another shop down the street. Front brakes and one new rotor was all I need. If youre going to use them get a second opinion.

Waited for service manager to adjust headlight for an hour. He was either talking to other customers or coworkers. It should have taken 10-15 minutes to get the task done. I had to show him the adjustment for headlight horizontal adjustment. Also I called for appointment & asked for oil change, headlight adjustment, & fix slow leak in my A/C. They got me in on time, then told me they dont work on air conditioning on vehicles. I will not go back there unless they can do things properly. They claim that they are short workers. Thats why it so long for oil change & one headlight adjustment. 2 hours for just that! Plus no A/C repair! I watched through window & all I could see is workers talking or running around like a bunch chickens with their heads cut off. Not a good establishment!

Stephanie the manager. She is horrible at everything including lies.Had appointment scheduled two days prior. I confirmed day before.My appointment was at 4. I get there 10 minutes early. Took my granddaughters to store next door. I come back at 5 closing time and my truck is still sitting there.Let’s just say worst experience I ever had!After spending $8,000 at the store over last 8 years. To be treated the way I was! Disgraceful on Mavis.

I bought a set of new tires for my car at Mavis and was very happy with the service and pricing.

These guys are AMAZING!! (friday) my truck was down and out. I called 5 other auto shops to try and get it repaired over the weeked, all of which were booked solid into next week!  I called Mavis in canandaigua,  spoke to a woman named Okie who also told me she was booked but after finding out I needed to get to work on Monday she said let me call you back. I could tell she truly cared. She called me back (same day) and told me her and her crew were going to take care of me. They repaired my vehicle on a SUNDAY!!! Her knowledge and customer service skills are impeccable!! Not only did they repair my vehicle but she made me feel like family! When I went to pick up my truck her mechanics came out to introduce themselves! Very impressed! I will be sending all my friends and family her way!! Thank you Okie and her amazing staff

My appointment was at 12pm. Over the course of an hour and a half me and my fiancé were sitting in their waiting room twiddling our thumbs ( there are only 3 people allowed in the waiting room at a time which they did not tell me in advance if there wasn’t anyone there I would of been stuck outside in the cold because it is the middle of a snow storm and it’s 30 degrees). The entire time I can see my car...still in the parking lot exactly where I left it. At 1:30 no one has even touched my car yet. There are at least 7 employees that I can see sitting around doing nothing In the garage with only 2 cars in the working areas.we were incredibly annoyed at this point so we told them we were going to walk down the road and get a tea. It took 30 minutes for us to get our tea and walk back. A few seconds after we walked back inside the receptionist said “bad news we ordered the wrong size for your tires, you can either come back next week when we order your proper tires or come back Tuesday and we will put on different ones but they are more expensive” at this point I’m heated and I simply said “no thank you I’ll just take my business elsewhere can I have my keys please?” To which the receptionist says “well they have to put your tires back on”. So they spent 2 hours wasting my time (all the employees were MAYBE 20-21) and instead of looking at my tires and seeing if the sizes matched they took ALL 4 off to then see that they were not the right size. A huge waste of my time for my only day off. Absolutley ridiculously. Merry Christmas to me😞

Unhappy. I asked several times how long it would be and I was repeatedly given the same answer of 30-45 minutes. After about TWO HOURS, my work was complete. I understand that work may take longer, but I would have really appreciated a heads up. I got an alignment and on my drive home from mavis, my car is still pulling. Very unhappy with today’s transaction.

Im a tire tech at Mavis and to the people out there who tip the tire techs, thank you so much! You have no idea how much we need just that little bit of money once in awhile. You people who do that do not go unnoticed and youre appreciated very much. Mavis in Canadaigua NY is outstanding. I had a runflat tire blowout on a Sunday afternoon on a tire size not normally stocked. Service Tech L.B. was committed to a find a solution to allow us to drive 80 miles back home. He figured out a tire strategy that only a tech with great experience and commitment to customer service, on a 92 degree afternoon, would provide. We could not be more grateful to L.B. and the other Mavis staff at that location. 5 stars arent enough. Highly recommended!!

They dont give you the real price when you put an order in on line. They add on other fees on afterwards. (besides tax) It took over 2 hours to get 4 tires installed with an appointment. I chose them because I thought I was getting a better price. I was wrong.

Received a second opinion here after being quoted ridiculous prices at Nissan Vision in Canandaigua for a simple car inspection on a low milage car. I was able to get my car inspection here same day with appointment and even though the wait time lasted about one hour, I am pleased with the service received and reasonable pricing!

I got my brakes replaced here. After returning four times for them grinding, I have finally given up. My brakes are still grinding, despite their claims they are now fixed correctly. Definitely wont be going back to this store.

Even when they ask you to call the specific store to schedule an appointment, vs. making an appointment online, it still wasn’t helpful. All I needed was an oil change... I called on Friday to schedule an appointment for Sunday at 11. I went to lunch with a friend, came back 2 hours later and they hadn’t moved it yet!!The manager apologized and said he only had 3 mechanics and they were over scheduling online, not my problem. That’s why I did as they suggested and called the local number to schedule an appointment. It still didn’t help! Very disappointed as this has happened pretty much every time I come here. I had a coupon for a free oil change because of s long wait in the past, otherwise I would not have come back.I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, only to get disappointed once again. Ugh!!!

After being told that my tire was not repairable by another shop I went to Mavis. Mike treated me with respect and did not talk down to me as the other shop had. He informed me of what they would do to try to fix the tire and if it didnt work I would not be charged. It did work and was finished in under an hour, I was pleased with the service and treatment that I received. I would recommend this location to my friends and family, I feel confident that they would receive quality service at a great price.

Went to change my own oil over the weekend while I had time and I couldnt. Upon a closer look, when Mavis in Canandaigua, NY performed an oil change at the end of April 2016; they broke my hood release and NEVER said a word. Was this why I received the oil change for free. Took the car back there today on my lunch so that they could fix/correct their breakage. The two new managers were extremely nice. The tech was on his cell phone as he got into my car to drive it into the bay; stalled the car 3 times before getting it into reverse (standard). Then Mavis proceeded to start to do an oil change that I NEVER requested (I stated that I was going to do my own oil change) until I had to stop him. The tech then stated You asked for an oil change. NO, I did not; I asked that the hood release be fixed or at the very least usable since a Mavis tech broke it during the last oil change and NEVER said a word. After again repeating myself, the tech stated well we cant do that we need time to look at it, order the part, etc. Are you kidding me; no one asked for a number to reach me, no one asked for the vehicle information so that a part could be ordered. Along with the issues that I had from February until roughly April with all the company vehicles I took there and the sexual harassment; THIS WAS/IS THE LAST STRAW!!! Mavis will no longer be getting any business from me AND I will not refer them to anybody. Bad craftsmanship, Poor tech customer service, and sexual harassment by techs and the previous store manager; this particular location needs to have its employees trained in customer service, honesty, and treating the customers vehicle with respect (not damaging it and if it is then be honest with the customer).

Not one of my better experiences there. Made my appointment a wk ago. When I showed up 15 mins early she acted like they were already booked up. Said it be 2 hrs for 4 new tires to be installed and balanced it ended up 3 hrs. Was quoted $750 and went pay it was almost $1,000. I was very upset at the price. She had told me she wasnt going charge me for alignment. We had discussed giving me the free alignment cause I had one a few months prior. She did lower the price saying she gave me a discount on tries, but she didnt. The price ended up $850. A $100 more than quoted. I am considering going someplace else next time. Also months prior I had ball joints replaced no-one said any thing that my tires were bald. Not there finest moments.

Nickel and Dime you. Never have tires in stock that are on their web site. Do they even honor their web site price? Wouldnt know because they dont have tires in stock that are on their web site. Just some tires that are suppose to be made by Cooper. Told me I needed new rotors and pads. Nothing wrong with the rotors just needs brake pads. I do my own brake jobs and I know what a bad rotor feels like when I drive a car. I will rate better than Cost Tire (aka Cost a lot tire) but same business practice of some no name tires charging you 100-150 per tire. I use to do business with Dunn Tire. I wish Dunn didnt close shop in Canandaigua after Mavis opened.

Made an appointment for a tire rotation. Showed up on time. 50 minutes later my car was still in the parking lot. When I asked for my key back, was told only one guy was available to do tires. Thought that was their main business? This is clearly a scheduling problem. It should not become my problem. Perhaps the manager of the day could have actually done some work instead of walking around in front of the building smoking his cigarette.

Have had to have last minute work done twice .Mavis gets me in and gets the car done and out .even helped me get a credit card with them to get work I needed done .thanks to all the hard workers at Mavis in Canandaigua ny .will be seeing you again soon .

I called Mavis in Canandaigua for tires. I was told that the tires I got a quote for had a 60,000 mile warranty. After I made the appointment, I went to the tire manufacturers website and looked up the exact tire size and model, and the manufacturer stated that the tires had a 50,000 warranty. I called Mavis back and cancelled the appointment. I then went online to Tire Rack and ordered the exact same tires. Then I got a price for mounting and balancing at a local garage. By ordering from Tire Rack (including the shipping cost) and having a garage mount and balance all 4 tires, I saved $183. Plus Tire Rack gives you free 2 year road hazard. Watch your butt when dealing with Mavis. Being lied to is not a good practice.

Went to get a inspection done. Spent an hour waiting just to be told it failed for a power steering leak and a broken coil on my strut. The kid must be blind or just plain dumb because none of the coils were broken. And the power steering lines are all brand new. This place is a big joke. Quoted me 715$ for just a coil. And not including labor. Just want to screw you over so they can get money instead of doing it the right way.

Poor time management. Made an appointment for tires 3 days ago. They just turned me away and said they couldnt fulfill appointment. They never called to tell me they werent going to be able to do it. Parking is horrendous! They have no place to park. Leave tires all over the parking lot so you cant park.

Told to be here at noon. I was here at noon for alignment. Was told 2 hours, it would be done. Walked to lunch. Came back at 2. Not even in garage yet. Was told 1/2 hour. As I sat her watched the lead mechanic sort through jobs, continually skipping my car, bring in more expensive jobs. Jobs that would make them more money.

Worst experience at an auto store ever. I was quoted $102 a tire (even though the online price was $92) which totals $408. When I went to pick up my car I was charged over $500. I was never told about the balancing fee or valve replacement fee, they conveniently kept that information hidden. Then I was told it was going to take 2-3 hours total for my service to be complete and I would receive a call when it was done. But after 4 hours went by I never received a call. I called 4 times before even getting through to talk to someone and then was put on hold for 12 MINUTES before I was so frustrated I hung up and drove to mavis. Surprise surprise my car was waiting in the parking lot ready for me, but no one ever called to let me know! The service men were rude and not evenly slightly professional. I cannot even put into words how unimpressed I was and I will NEVER be going back.
