Great facility and wonderful people, a perfect place for new gun owners to learn about their weapons and enjoy their first shoot. Range time is readily available and very reasonably priced. They do all sorts of fun events, their classes are excellent for those new to firearms, and the shop has great prices on ammo, guns, and gear. You couldnt do better if youre looking for a friendly crew to help you learn about firearms and improve your skills!

Me and my husband were looking to get our concealed carry license. We just googled concealed carry in Cape and Firearms Training By John was one of the first companies, looked at reviews and looked at the different options on his website and it was a perfect fit. We did the online course and then went in for the shoot requirement, very convenient and simple. Nice family owned business and affordable. I would recommended to anyone trying to get there concealed license.

I was in town on vacation looking for something to do and thought it would be fun to rent a gun and test my skills at the range. I stopped by firearms training and had a great time. John and his son Jacob were very helpful and accommodating. I rented a glock 19 which has a nice kick to it but won’t hurt your wrist or anything. If your looking for something to do definitely stop by.

This is by far one of the best firearms places my husband and I have been to. We are from up north where the gun laws are very strict. We searched for months and decided we wanted to support a small local business. After searching and reading reviews for months, we chose this location. The moment you walk in you are greeted by John and his family. They are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I personally have never shot a gun before and to be honest I was a nervous reck. Once I met Heidi all of my worries we’re gone. She has this amazing energy that genuinely shows she is there to help you. We also had to the pleasure of meeting their son Jacob who was also extremely kind and helpful. And then there’s John who is truly the nicest guy with a great personality. Our visit here was far more than we expected. Although this was our first time here. We felt like we’ve known them for a long time and felt like we were a part of their family. Ive taken the conceal carry, weapon class in preparation for my permit. John was professional, helpful with focus on me as a novice. WOW! First time being properly introduced to firearms—this was such a great experience for my partner and I. We learned gun safety and how to handle firearms and got to shoot 3 different models. I had a basic training and conceal class yesterday; as someone who is new to guns, I highly recommend John G Johnson as an instructor and trainer. He is patient (which is the type of instructor I need), the private lesson training times works great for me and he is great at building your confidence with the tool(gun) as well as layering on the safety and proper use/form. I took the virtual online CCW class this passed Thursday. In the class John the instructor was very friendly and professional. He made the class very fun and not boring at all. Me and my boyfriend were able to take the virtual class together. Signing up for the class is very easy and fast. After We we’re able to set up an appointment through text and John responded quickly. He showed me how to easily rack a 9mm and how to stay on target while shooting. Very cool and positive guy! GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE!! Definitely coming back to take the one on one training class and looking forward to bringing my 8 year old !!

The Try Before You Buy class is an absolute must before purchasing a firearm; the two pistols I thought I would love were definitely not my favorite when trying them out. Took the Virtual CCW class with John to maintain our Social Distances and the next day came to the Range for my shot test. The class was pretty straight forward with a lot of common sense actions as it relates to gun handling. We also discussed some the legal aspects of ownership and what to expect and how to handle yourself when pulled over or approached by Law Enforcement. The Range time was fun and enjoyable. We were looking for gun training classes and group trainings are just not my thing. I much prefer the individual time with an instructor - and being a novice, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. But when I saw that we could book a couples lesson, I was so excited. We booked right online thru the website and it was a breeze. We received great instruction, everyone was so nice and helpful and the ammo prices were great as well. We will definitely be back to practice at the range.

It was really great to be able to try out 5 different models and really get the feel and decide which weapon would work best for me. I went into the training with no knowledge and came out feeling much more knowledgeable and comfortable handling a handgun and looking forward to further training. John is such a good teacher, with a comfortable and professional training style and made learning very enjoyable. We are bringing my daughter for training next week as well as completing the virtual Concealed Carry Class this Thursday. Booked a CCW and weapon handling combo course with John. Training was top notch. He taught me some tips on better aiming and holding of the firearm that I have never seen before. John provides very clear, concise instructions; with a calm, easy manner throughout. He takes it seriously, but is friendly and helpful. Having a private range is a huge plus. You can also book to use the range ahead of time, which is a nice convenience. If you want to learn right, and are serious about learning how to use a firearm, then I strongly recommend you try John Johnson!

My wife and I were interested in obtaining a defensive weapon and training to go along with this. We were driving by and decided to stop in for a few minutes to get some information from John. Well after about 2 hours there, John graciously talked to us discussed our needs and actually let us try a few hand guns on his range. He made us feel so comfortable with his hands on introduction and his very comfortable training style that we decided to buy a hand gun and set up training and conceal and carry classes. The training using the gun we now own was wonderful and he made my wife feel very comfortable using the weapon and taught me many important thing that I needed to know to safely handle a firearm. We took the virtual conceal carry on line with John and now just have to complete a short hands on competency session to get our certificate that allows us to get the official Florida CC permit.John has been wonderful during this whole time and I love the idea of supporting a local small business. 10 Starts if I could rate it that high.
