They have a sticker on their door that says that dogs are encouraged. Every time weve brought our dog in (who is big, but sweet and minds his own business), the people at the register cringe and it feels like they rush us out. If you dont want big dogs in your store, make a new sign. Were not coming back.

Awesome store! I dont like shopping, but I could spend hours in Silver in the City. The staff is always engaging, friendly, and helpful, but not smothering. They have time of fun, high quality merchandise and they price their products fairly. We always buy crazy, silly socks and retro tree ornaments for our family for Christmas Eve from this store. Its a great store and (bonus) we get to support a local small business!

I shop in Silver in the City every couple of months. I’ve been pretty loyal to the Carmel location, and I have enjoyed going there to buy cute little gifts for various occasions. As I was shopping there today, one of the women working the counter asked one of the other employees (in a not so subtle manner) to follow me around the store to ensure that I wasn’t stealing anything. I’m not sure what prompted that behavior other than the fact that I was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. It was very demeaning and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I’m a professional, I’ve never stolen anything in my life, and I’m a frequent customer of the store. I have always treated the people that work in the store with the utmost respect. I’m very disappointed by the behavior of the staff. Although I was polite because I was with a friend who loves shopping there as well, I will not be returning to the store. It was a very unfortunate experience.

Cool shop with unique mix of funky gifts and jewelry. They have some local jewelry makers that sell their items here. I was able to find some one-of-a-kind type jewelry for my wife as a gift. Definitely worth a look if you’re walking downtown.

Very RUDE staff that followed me around and treated me like I was stuffing merchandise in my pockets like I was at a 7-Eleven in the ghetto. Ridiculous, Not returning.

I hope many folks see this review. I have been in the downtown store several times and have purchased items each time but the other day, in Carmel, it was not a good experience. First, I COMPLETELY understand the need to have security and door men/women and cameras all that. I used to work retail and understand it all. Shoplifting is awful, period. Here is the kicker though – treating ALL your guests as if they are potential shoplifters is not how you do business. Having the door guy FORCE you to greet him so he can get a good look at you is bad, having someone follow you around the store when there is zero indication that you are here to shoplift is bad, having someone stare you down while you look at the jewelry is BAD! The “security personnel” need a lot more training. I felt SO uncomfortable when I left after my purchase! I told my husband who was with me that I had a really uncomfortable vibe the whole time I was there. He totally agreed, he did too. Silver In the City, to me, is supposed to be fun, charming, light-hearted, cute boutique type store. The other day, it was none of those things. I don’t think I will be going back to either location.

Funny, irreverent, woman-centered boutique. Fun staff, slightly expensive, but not enough to dissuade you. Great place to look for meaningful gifts.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I heard about them on my favorite radio station and had to go. If you love the snarky side of life or are looking for the feminist in your life, this is the place! They also have beautiful silver jewelry and Indiana apparel.

I love this store. I fell in love at the Mass ave location but the Carmel location does not disappoint. They have the same jewelry and item selection. If you are looking for a interesting piece of jewelry or funny socks this is the place for you and shopping local always makes me feel better.

Unfortunately, I thought this was a jewelry and hand-made items shop. I had my 8 and 11 year olds with me. I was utterly surprised to find no less than 15 items novelty items openly displaying the f word for all to see like an R-rated Spencers Gifts in the mall. Not a place to take your kids if that is not your thing.

I was very happy when I discovered that one of my favorite downtown Indy shop had opened a location closer to my home. I never fail to find some offbeat, interesting object i need anytime i visit. My favorite place to gift shop.

I can always find something interesting at this store. Last time - a Bobs Burgers coloring book, and a couple of fun t-shirts for the kiddo.

They have wallets, bags, purses made from the old RCA dome. So cool!
