I came here with my 2004 Honda CR-V that I wanted to sell to a friend of mine. She made the appointment here because they quoted her the best price when she called around to shops asking them to do an overview of the car to see if there were any serious issues with it. When you walk in, the same guys that greet you at the counter are the same guys who go back and look at the car for you. They are very professional and made me feel very comfortable. As a young lady, I dont always find myself feeling like I know what is going on when I go to car mechanics, and sometimes I feel like my lack of knowledge about cars can be taken advantage of. I did not feel that way here. They made sure to explain the process of what they were doing to my car to me. For example, they noticed there was a possible oil leak because there was oil all over the place under the engine and near the oil pan and what not. He explained they would put a dye in and run it through to locate exactly where the oil leak is coming from. Also, I told him about another issue I was having with the car when I turned it very hard to the left, I could hear the tire rubbing against something. When I picked the car up, that was completely gone. They didnt even charge me for that. Just a really nice experience with a genuine car service. Would 10/10 recommend!

I took my truck in for a new muffler. After looking the vehicle over, they recommended a brake fluid flush as well. That fixed the ABS, which hadn’t worked since I bought the truck. They did all the work for the estimated price. I’m happy!

Several days ago I scheduled an oil change for 9:00 this morning, assuming that scheduling an appointment in advance would mean that I wouldn’t have to wait that long for the oil change (which is crucial to me as I’m in grad school and it’s finals week). When I showed up for my appointment I asked how long it would take and they said at least an hour because there were 1.5 people ahead of me. I decided I could go get a coffee and talk to a friend on the phone for an hour and come back. It was 2 hours before they called me and when they did they told me they needed to fix my serpentine belt, which they said would be $140 total and take another 45 minutes roughly. Over two hours later they finished and tried to charge me $170. When I questioned the cost he said he hadn’t factored in taxes, but then changed his mind and charged me the original amount of $140. I wasted 5 hours today waiting on them to do an oil change that I scheduled an appointment for in advance, with no apology and an attempted up charge for services. It was really frustrating and disappointing.

I took my car in because of a steering issue in October 2020. They replaced the power steering pump. It failed 4 months later. I took it back they replaced the pump again. It failed the next day and a belt broke. I took it back and they told me the previous pumps were re-manufactured and they were going to put in a new pump and I would need to pay the difference of $177.00 they would replace the belt and a hose. When my daughter went to pick it up they told her it was going to be over $500 for the repairs. She refused, I called and Adam now says $467. He claimed that either he or Zak the manager told me the cost which is a flat out lie!! I will never take my car there for repairs again. They tell you one thing and then charge you something else. They are dishonest and were trying to take advantage of my daughter picking up the car!!

Had a nail in my tire and they put in a patch for about $30 and took about 30 mins. Great service.

I am posting this because I tell my friends about this guy. So the story behind this person poor review is not because they didnt want to take him in. In fact his whole story is false. I was standing next to Dalton while he was working on another clients vehicle when this young man came in. He stated he had an appointment which Dalton check and did see. Dalton told the young man yes we can get you in today we had been waiting for you and didnt think you would come since your appointment was 15 minutes ago. We can get you in today as soon as we finish with another car and have you done before we close they were closing in 45 minutes I believe. This young man began cursing and yelling at Dalton. Dalton reassured him that he would be taken care of that day and it wasnt an issue. He continued to curse and be loud, to which Dalton replied calmly sir I dont understand why you feel the need to curse and yell at me. I had told you that it was fine and we would have your oil change done today . Im sorry but Im going to have to ask you to leave. The day afterwards he had posted this false review. I dont understand what brought this young man to be this upset. I have seen kids cry and yell for not receiving a toy and I felt the need to call his mom to the store to educate her child. Oil

I worked with meineke for awhile and they don’t care about their customers or employees. When it came to their customers they would try to get every last dollar they could from them, even harassed a few customers. Zack Anderson is the worst manager there and if that store ever wants to improve they need to fire him. He purposely sells customers 4 tires so he could take their old tires and sell them and pockets the money for himself. He did the same with scrap metal too. Zack only cares about his pockets and none of his employees.

When completing paper work for a loan, the manager did not give me any information regarding my contract. The manager signed my contract without me seeing anything. Now I have to pay my amount off within 100 days or I’ll suffer the 153% interest rate. The manager does not have a right to sign legal documents for customers and they need to communicate what is going on. I can’t believe that manager forged my signature. Complete disgust and distrust towards the company now.

They try to sell you stuff you dont need. And they dont really fix anything if there is nothing wrong with it (good--but they charge you for it!) And: Very pushy now under new management. Ug!

I hated the severe i had a apartment to get a oil change at 11 clock and they told me i had to wait a hour and ahalf. And i had and apartment so i took my car home and did it my self in 10 mins so. They want get any of my business

I had a great experience here when I took my car in for an oil change. Ken, the assistant manger, was friendly and helpful. It was much less expensive than I had expected. He explained the other things I needed to do that they found when inspecting my car, and he recommended which things really needed to be done then and others that could wait. I would recommend this location!

I took my car in for a routine oil change. They recommended that my hood latches and cables needed completely redone at ~$250 (maybe more depending on labor). I took for a second opinion and they told me that the latches were just sticky. The other place cleaned them up and everything is working completely fine and there is no issue with opening my hood. The other shop did not charge me anything for this. I also had asked Meinke to check my tires because my light for low tire pressure kept coming on even after filling with air. They told me there was not an issue. The other shop found a nail in my tire! Lastly, the person helping me did NOT have a mask on, while having signs to wear a mask. Would not recommend getting car serviced here.

I always love going to Meineke car care center because they haven’t disappointed me. They do a great oil change job and I don’t ever think it’s too expensive I think the prices are fair. Just got my brakes fixed there and they were great. They’re very respectful.

One of my tires was leaking air so I pulled in to see if they could repair it. They discovered a nail puncture in the sidewall, which apparently was un-reparable and required a new tire. They didnt have the right tire in stock so they phoned in an order to be delivered the same day. They let me borrow an old loaner car until the new tire came in and was installed. They did a proper installation and balancing and I was good to go. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful.

Good value and good experience. 4 stars only because as people have stated in other reviews the staff are not wearing masks when conducting business with customers. This is not in concordance with local ordinances.

We took our car in for an inspection and oil change. I asked them to make sure the wiper fluid was refilled. When I got home, it wasn’t refilled. And they didn’t reset check engine light. I called and guy said the tech must have forgotten. What else was forgotten???

Replaced a brand new brake master cylinder without my permission. If they had ask, I would have told them it was only one month old. Charged $1200 for a simple $300 brake job.

I’ve had Meineke in Chapel Hill take care of two of my vehicles over the years and they have always been able to provide accurate diagnoses, timely service and reasonable fees. They were able to squeeze my service today in extremely efficiently and they are always extremely attentive to customer needs.

My car gave up on me as I was driving home. Thank God, the Meineke shop is located close to my home!! I thought it was something big, but it was only a belt that needed to be replaced. Ken, the young man I dealt with as soon as I got in the door, had already stated they had other cars in front of me and was about to close in a couple of hours, so I felt doomed. Why? I was to start orientation on a new job the next morning and I didnt know what I was going to do. My husband and I called to see if they could put me at the top of the list the next morning, as soon as they open, so I can get to my orientation on time. I think I called Ken several times that morning, and he said he was working on it as we talked. Well I got up there around 8:30 am, and was out by 9:05. They saved my life!! They tell u stuff that does not need fixing at all and then they leave out what u tell them is wrong on the estimate so now I have a estimate with what they want to fix and they forgot to put spark plugs wires and a coil and they forgot to put my transmission syncnizer and Im ase certified and I just wanted to put meineke to the test sense I want paying for the fixes

Made an appointment on a Friday morning and left my car there for FIVE HOURS to have them put on and align 2 tires, oil change and replace my brake pads after quoting me about 3 hours. Then I leave and now my steering wheel shakes whenever I drive on the highway because the tires were not balanced properly. Not only is this dangerous but now I have to waste my time for at least another hour or 2 having them relook at what they messed up. Poor quality service.

My car had a flat tire and the technician replaced it within 1 hour. He was very knowledgeable about tire tread and friendly. He helped me choose a new tire that was affordable and got it installed in less than an hour. I give Meineke a five star rating for excellent customer service! Thank you for making my day a little easier.

The manager, who seemed like a nice guy, said to me I dont know how you feel about this supposed COVID. He and his employees refused to wear a mask inside the indoor office areas where customers wait. Ive had two friends die from COVID. This just didnt feel good to me.

3,800 dollar later, all the warning lights are still on, took it back to have that checked (which should have been fixed the first time) and dropped it off at 7:30am today, missed a day of work and at 4pm, still had not been looked at or touched after having a conversation with the assistant manager on Saturday about me bringing it in today and what my concerns were. Worst service ive ever had, also no one was wearing a mask and were extremely rude. I will never bring any of my vehicles here again. I wouldnt recommend even having your Barbie jeep fixed at this place.

Friendly staff, easy oil change, light bulb replacement, and state inspection. Really loved that they sent pictures with the online report of your car after it’s done—also suggested other services and WHY without pushing it on me. It took a little while, but I’m fine with that when it’s good service!

Even though it’s a chain they’ve always done right by me at this Meineke. They’re good about showing you what’s wrong with your car and explaining why it’s a problem.

Zach and team were amazing at checking to see why my car kept stalling and immediately took care of the problem for me. They were professional and very friendly and checked to make sure all was well before I left!

Its a hit and miss for me. While the service was fast at this location to get the state inspection, I always have the feeling they try to up sell me. For instance at on occasion they “measured” my battery capacity the wrong way to imply I need a new car battery. When I went to the original place where I bought my battery all measurements were fine and appropriate.

Had a good experience getting an estimate here for a catalytic converter. They put up on a lift and gave me an accurate quote and didnt charge me anything.

Chapter 3 of the saga. Took car in for transmission service, left with a broken car. Was told to take it to the dealer. Paid Meineke, now have to pay dealer to fix Meineke’s mistakes. No accountability. You’re gambling big with your wallet and longevity of your vehicle when you go to Meineke.

It took two hours to get an oil change, tire rotation, and replace my cabin filter. I would expect that to take half an hour, considering I was on time for my appointment. When I finally got the keys back, neither of the dashboard lights - that they said they had diagnosed and fixed - were off. Zachary is very personable and seemed embarrassed by the bad service I received. Look elsewhere!

Meineke is the best car shop I have ever been to in North Carolina! The customer service is amazing (shout out to Rod in particular), and they operate with the highest integrity. They have recommended lower cost options to me on multiple occasions when they could have told me I needed the more expensive route. Whenever I compare quotes they give me, their rate has consistently been favorable. Could not recommend them enough!

Rude indeed. The up selling process is painful. They suggest a few repairs. I say no thank you. They ask, why not. I say, I dont have the funds for that (the real reason is that the repairs were not even needed) They say, then you should finance. I say, no thank you. They say, well why not if you dont have the money you should just finance. And it went on for that for another minute or two. If they were not about to work on my car I would have snapped. I will not be putting my self in that situation again.

DO NOT GO HERE ITS UNBELIEVABLE!! WORST SERVICE EVER. SO RUDE.By far the WORST experience I have ever had, getting a simple oil change. My husband and I had an appointment for 10:15 am and told them we would wait for it. FOUR hours later and our car is still not done. Not only that, but the manager is incredibly rude when we ask how much longer it will be.When our car was finally finished, we went up to pay and the manager gave us an incredible amount of attitude!!! They also recommended we change our power steering fluid and brake fluids, which we had done 5 months prior at the dealership. CLEARLY recommending unnecessary services is a business practice of theirs. I simply said that we would not be coming back based on the customer service we had received and he said Well thats fine, were the only place open on Saturdays though. Good luck. I stated that I didnt appreciate how rude he was being and that 4 hours for an oil change was excessive for a Saturday.Manager retorted Well I have to be here on a Saturday... well of course you do, ITS YOUR JOB. Came in on a Tuesday morning without an appointment to see if they had time to replace a flat tire. Which they did, and more quickly than expected! Great service, will definitely come back.

They were able to get me in for a state inspection same day and made sure I could get to the DMV in time to renew my tags. They ran through the inspection quickly and even finding I needed windshield wipers they finished quickly. You shouldnt have to worry coming here. They seem they wont waste your time or waste your money as well.

My daughter and I were in town for a Carolina basketball game when a panel on my car came loose. I pulled in to this location and Rob Cooper and Jonathan fixed us right up in time for tip-off. They were very nice and gracious. Thanks guys!!

I shopped around and ended up paying $2,450.00, WOW; Thats about $7,000.00 savings!! Dont settle this place over charges!! This Shop is phenomenal! I had a tush job that I needed taken care of on a Saturday. I had a family emergency back in Seattle that I had to leave on the following Monday. I was driving back hauling our 26 ft trailer cross-country(3000 miles). I needed to get airlift Air bags installed in my rear coil springs to improve the handling. They got me in immediately and got the bags installed super quick. Everyone in the shop was super nice and great at what they did. Whatever you need done I highly recomend this location ( Carrboro NC location). I’d give them 6 stars if I could.

I have had a wonderful experience at this Meineke location ever since I started taking my car there almost three years ago. They have always been so friendly, helpful and honest with me. Numerous times they have advised me to the least costly option, or even given a discount because the work was already costing me so much. My most recent service was yesterday and today when an uncommon electrical issue was boggling everyone. Mike and Rob were extremely helpful, diligent, patient and serviceable in working with me and ensuring that the car was in ideal working order and that we got to the bottom of whatever was going on. They took the time to talk with me about it and try to figure out why it had happened. We ended up figuring out the root of the problem so we can be confident that it will not return. In the past, they have voluntarily replaced parts under warrantee when it was unclear exactly what was wrong and they have always been honest and helpful with me, willing to explain what was going on (or even show me the part) to someone who does not have a lot of car knowledge. I am appreciative of this, especially since it is not uncommon for a single woman to be taken advantage of by mechanics who want to make an extra buck or two. The bottom line is that I walk out of the shop feeling happy and confident that my car and I just received quality service with integrity and that, if anything were to go wrong, they will stand by their work and do everything in their power to make it right. That is pretty awesome to find in a car care center. Thanks so much for the dedication and hard work!

Meineke fixed my exhaust system leading to the manifold! They did a great job my car is running great! I thought it would be a lot more expensive, I’m not saying it was cheap but with that sort of problem I thought it would be more. I am happy with the service!!

Probably one of the best mechanic shops Ive ever been to. These guys are very friendly, honest, and helpful. Ive never been let down by them. I once took my car to another place (which I wont name here), the guy said I need to purchase something over $300 and it was completely made up.

We love Meineke. We have an aging car and it has needed a few different repairs but Meineke (and particularly Mike) have been amazing at keeping it on the road. They are always kind and considerate and dont mind explaining car stuff to me (which I have no aptitude for). They keep costs low and the service and turnaround is brilliant. They really understand the need for fast turnarounds.

I received outstanding service here this past Monday that was really underscored by integrity and compassion over making a buck. I brought our car in as it was making some odd noises. I received a prompt call back from the attendant saying that they had gone in and checked out the issue and that all of our issues should be covered under warranty or recall. He explicitly said that we should take it to a dealership so we could get those issues fixed for free versus them having to charge us for the parts and labor. As two young working professionals, having someone who is willing to look out for us and save us potentially a couple hundred dollars truly means the world to us. So thank you for your honesty and helpfulness in resolving the issues we were having!
