Well we’re do I start I had a good experience with the customer service at first but after two month of driving my 04 Touareg the oil was low so I checked the oil and nothing is on the stick I call to make them aware of what’s going on and they made me feel really stupid and like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Oh by the way they forgot to do the oil change that I paid 132 for and didn’t get because I was the first one to change the oil on my truck so I mark the filter and the same one is still on it but not now because I had to change it myself in order not to get charged again for something I already paid for. The general manger did call me back but he was just as bad as the first person I talked to wanted to charge me for work that was already done
Drove from Florida to get some work done after watching their YouTube videos and not finding anyone in Florida to handle the requested job. From the start, very responsive. Listened, explained and suggested options for my build/desired look. Staff was very friendly and showed me around facility. Finished work was great and already discussing next project. Very satisfied with work and customer service.
My guy, Fabio.. What else can I say. This was my first time getting mods done and not only did the work turn out great, but he walked me through the entire process so that I understood everything. All of my best friends are in the car scene, Im the only one that isnt. I was able to go back to them after leaving the shop and tell them everything that was done (using the car lingo) and everyone was shocked! I will continue to utilize their services in the near future.
Every time i get my car serviced at BFI, I always leave happy. They were less expensive than what I was quoted from a VW dealership by about $500 to replace a knock sensor, and are honest about everything they are seeing on the car that needs to be maintained. They dont try to up sale you on needless things and the work is always of the highest quality. Thanks BFI, I will be back.
I was out of the country on business, and I needed extensive performance modifications done on my car. The team at Black Forest provided immediate correspondence on estimates and availability. Adam was courteous and provided a play by play on everything from missing parts to preferred fitment when it came to the suspension. The technicians were meticulous with their work, vacuum lines were tucked and discrete; the suspension fitment was perfect. I cant say enough good things about this company. If you need anything APR, or just work in general, I would highly recommend.
Bought a uniconnect cable and ECU/TCU tune from these guys. Verified with their staff multiple times before I left that I could use a MAC computer to load the tune (i live 3 hours away). I cannot use a mac to load the tune. I requested a refund and they want to charge me a 20% restocking fee. thats $400. I can buy a computer for that cost. They were unwilling to make it work for the customer. Extremely disappointed.I also contacted unitronic directly afterwards. Who says they have never heard of a dealer charging a restocking fee for a tune. They understand being charged for the VIN attached cable (which I do as well) but charging 20% restocking fee they were not aware of. If this was a physical item for a car such as an intake or exhaust I understand a restocking fee. But this is literally a software program I havent loaded. Unitronic has a 15 day policy for a full refund for dissatisfied customers. Might want to refer to your dealer agreement.
I’ve had engine work, power window work, and suspension work on Audi, and electrical, engine and transmission work done on BMW. When our VW needs any service, it will only go to Black Forest. Adam is a big reason. He’s the first person you will see. Estimates are accurate, and appointments are kept. The work is done so proficiently that you can’t tell a bolt was turned. Not even with extensive engine repair. I can’t say enough about the place.
This place is amazing. I recently got my Audi A7 Stage 1 tuning done and I can tell the difference! The staff is super friendly and great to work with and very knowledgeable about their work. Thanks Adam and staff at BFI
Just had my 2007 VW eos upgraded to stage 1. Can definitely feel the increase in hp and torque. Really noticed the increased torque in the higher gear range. The car runs great with no cel lights. Fabio and the crew did a great job in around an hour. Gas mileage seems better too although I still havent filled the tank back up yet.
Bought a spoiler was sent wrong item. Did not want a replacement and want to charge a 20 percent restocking fee and return shipping no a good place

Black Forest has offered the most needed help when diagnosing a car issue. The guys are all super nice and very willing to help.Ive had multiple issues with my car that honestly I cannot diagnose with just my OBD2 reader. These guys hit the nail on the head letting you know whats wrong.In all honesty, they have not misdiagnosed my car.Tuned car or stock, Id go here everyday instead of VW.Plus they have the car meet in October that kinda cool.
Saturday morning, when they are closed, used lot to park for a local cross-country meet. An employee drove by and threatened to tow our vehicle. Will never recommend a company that does not make minimal efforts to support the local community.
These fellows are set apart from the rest! Not only do they do absolutely top notch work but they deliver on everything they tell you. You get absolute quality for your money. But most of all they, Adam, the service manager, and Steve the head mechanic, treat you like family, I know, Ive been doing business with them for years. I will not take my cars any where else, PERIOD! So give them a chance, they wont disappoint. I give em five thumbs up!
Great service, as usual, from Black Forest, on time, communicative and reasonably priced. The tech went above and beyond fixing my exhaust along with reinforcing the other side ... it shows they really appreciate the cars they work on.
Terrible experience. ordered a tune and was sent wrong one. no reasonable offer to fix this so tried to order the upgrade. No updates almost a week later so I ask and was told when they recieve the product it will take another 2 weeks. no reference as to when they will recieve it. They are so ignorant, rude and all around terrible to deal with.
Got a VW or Audi? Come here for just about anything you need. You wont be disappointed. I heard they do good stuff for BMWs too, old and new.

Ive been taking my 2013 MKVI VW GTI here for years. They are the best German car shop in the area. Adam, the service manager, is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Theyve got the expertise of a dealership shop with the atmosphere of your local neighborhood mechanic, the best of both worlds

This shop has a good reputation, which is why I took my car there. This was several months ago, but I was waiting for my credit card dispute to clear before posting a review. I was moving across country and couldnt do programming, finish a two-wire wiring harness, and a few other things I needed for a custom project as my tools were packed and in transit and I had no workspace. While the car was there, they decided that they had to replace the transmission. When the car was done (4 months later) they recommended that I not drive it, because transmission fluid was leaking from between the AWD bevel box and the transmission, and their recommendation was that I order a new bevel box ($3,000 new and over $1,000 used). When I got the car home, I removed the bevel box and found the reason for the leak: the $8 seal between the bevel box and transmission wasnt there; nobody installed a new one. Furthermore, the bevel box on the axle side had the axle bolts installed cross-threaded; I had to re-tap them and get aftermarket locking bolts to prevent them from walking back out. Wiring work that I was charged for instead was by-passed for a ground and ignored, specifically for the reverse lights. They told me that the lights were working because there wasnt a bulb-out error, even though there was no wiring harness connected to the transmission. When I told them that this is not how the can-bus works, and that there would only be a bulb out error if the system lacked proper resistance from the bulb, I got no response; it seems like something they should have known. There was rodent poop in the car, and rusty / corroded areas under the hood. When I called and spoke with them about my issues, they made no attempt to make it right and blamed some of the issues on me. I fixed all of these issues by myself and the car is running great now, but no, I would not bring my car to BFI again, nor would I recommend it to someone else.In response to the sellers response: What is the correct bevel box, since mine has the exact same part number as one that goes on a MK6 golf R with manual transmission (the same transmission, bevel box, and LSD combo youre unsure of)? And how do you explain the fact that the leak was fixed after putting in a seal that wasnt there when you installed it and I took it back apart? Also, I have a receipt that shows I was charged for wiring, and an email chain where your shop explained that the reverse lights worked because there was no bulb out error. My problem wasnt with the programming or the re-installation / build of the transmission, as you can see above. When I called asking about a custom project, I would have preferred someone to say we dont really do that or we can program the car but wont take on custom wiring or installs. Ive upgraded my review to 2 stars, and recognize that some issues (suspension parts, mostly) werent your fault, although I never asked for any of that to be addressed, nor did I complain about them. The issues with the car that you brought up were not related to my complaint or what I asked your shop to do, and the amount of misinformation in your response is itself staggering. I have nothing to gain by posting my review, and understand that you feel the need to defend your business and livelihood. I hope you can recognize why I have issues with the service I received. Had my concerns been taken more seriously when I brought them up over the phone and in email, this entire review would have been avoided.

Received info about service to my 2015 TDi and appointment from Adam over phone. Drove the 52mi. to Cary where Adam welcomed me and took my car to service which was completed in less than the estimated time. My car jumps again. What’s not to like? Black Forest is my new default.
Highly recommend for German car owners (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, VW, etc.). The team here took great care of my car and shared my concerns. Brought it in for emergency maintenance and they immediately new what was wrong. They were even willing to work with my extended-warranty company. All the pricing for parts and labor were laid out, so that I the consumer, knew what I was paying for before work was performed. Worth every dollar down to the penny. In my opinion, Black Forest is very knowledgeable when it comes to these cars and have great attention to detail. If they spot a minor issue that can become something bigger, they will let you know. My old mechanic recommended me to these guys and I have no regrets in doing business with the team here.

Brought my 2017 golf R to get an APR downpipe and stage II tune. Very please with the quick efficient work. Not a single problem with it so far and I love the way it’s feeling!

Had my new wheels and tires mounted and balanced there. Adam got me in for service promptly and was very patient and courteous with me. Steven did a great job of mounting and balancing the tires and made some very reasonable recommendations for service. I will be returning there and recommend others who are in the area to check them out as well.

These guys are fantastic. I had my GTI into the dealer for warranty replacement on my manifold. They want to do $3,000 of additional work. Much not required and all required work done by BF for less than $1,000. Plus, I totally trust them!
Broke a piece on install (by my own fault) and BFI replaced the part for free. No complaints. Awesome company. They sent out the replacement same day as I contacted them.
My relationship with this shop began 3 years ago. The work theyve done on my Audi was great, the staff was courteous, engaging, and knowledgeable. Ive been back there many times over the past few years and the experiences have been fine. The problems really began with my last three visits which all occurred within the past 4 months. The work that was done on my car was still fine, my problem is with the office & store-front staff, particularly, the new individual they have working the phone and front desk. He is awful...so awful in fact he completely turned me off to ever coming back to the shop. He seems like he has no interest in his job or in any work the shop does. Not only that, he couldnt even answer basic questions I had about available services for my vehicle. Each time he seemed half-asleep.. Its great when your store-front staff puts his head down on the desk to take a nap during business hours and disappears for 20 minutes while customers are waiting. Ive spent thousands of dollars at this shop and recommended it to many friends and club members. I wont be back and I can tell you they wont be back either. Let me be clear about this: the actual work done on my car was fine, its the retail staff that is terrible. You generally dont interact with the service staff at this shop so if your only interaction is with a crappy store front staff, what kind of taste is that going to leave in your mouth?

Had some HR lowering springs and reinforced suspension front mounts and back mounts installed on the 17 GTI. The guys did the job very quickly and the price point was very fair, they even threw in some nice BFI stickers. I recommend this shop to anyone in the Raleigh area!
Just saw how dishonest you guys are very disappointing
We placed an order with them on May 14th. After waiting about a week we decided to give them a call and check on the shipping process. I was told my Garrett there would be another two week delay, but wasnt given a reason as to why. After waiting another two weeks we gave another call this time we were told (By Trevor I believe his name was) that the item we purchased was actually on back order, this was the first we had heard and we wouldnt have known if it werent for Trevor telling us. We decided to switch to another item that wasnt on back order and Trevor told us it would be shipped out within the next few days. We waited 5 days until we gave another call, this time Garrett answered and told us our purchase wouldnt be shipped for another 2 weeks again. At this rate we told him we would cancel the order cause it just seemed we were never going to get it. He said okay, refunded us, and then abruptly hung up.If you are going to shop for their products, be ready to NEVER know when or if it will ever get there.EDIT: The main issue was not necessarily the time or the wait, but the lack of communication and the unprofessional customer service from certain employees. We understand given the climate with the pandemic these days that businesses need to adapt and request our patience. However, we werent made aware that the part we had ordered was out of stock until almost 2 weeks after we had ordered it. After cancelling we ended up ordering the same shift knob for the same price from Urotuning which will get here in 3 business days. However, the drastic difference between Urotuning and BFI is the customer service. When your packages are being shipped out late the last thing a company should do is put someone who doesnt care on the phone. We may have continued the order if these delays were communicated and the customer service wasnt so appalling.
Definitely know what theyre doing and get it done when they say it will be done! As long as they are around, I will have an Audi or VW in the stable! The only guys I trust with my Audi and my GTIs.
Had an unexpected coolant leak on my Monday morning commute. I called Adam and set up a time to come by. He got me in and the leak was fixed super quick. They got me right in a pinch!Ive also purchased mounts and other misc parts over the years. Ive always had a great experience dealing with BFI. I highly recommend going to see them for parts, service, or performance installs.

Ordered stage 1 engine mount kit for mk5. Couldnt be happier. They came faster then estimated, parts quality is impressive, installation guides (if needed) are detailed, easy to understand, and have torque specs, website is clean and easy to use.Ok I would definitely recommend this place to any car owner. Especially the ones I like.

The BFI team is exceptionally knowledgeable and provides honest assessment of your cars needs. In my opinion, the value of the work they performed for the price was excellent. Their estimate of the work is detailed, with specific part listings, and easy to understand. The BFI team is also very helpful with recommendations on upgrades and what works and what does not. I am already planning my next BFI performance upgrade visit!

I recently had some work done to my VW at Black Forest Industries and I have to say on a scale of 1 to 10 Ill give them a 12 the quality of work was outstanding! And the price of the work was fairly reasonable and the waiting area and restrooms was one of the best Ive ever seen cleanliness outstanding five stars!
Products are quality i think? but the customer service has me up a wall. Called 3 separate times over a 1 and a half month period and never got called back when I was told I was going to. To top it off I waited 1 month for them to put me on hold for 30 seconds and figure out my answer right then and there. 90 day warranty on a important product I bought over a year ago. Would have been great to know that so I can fix my vehicle quickly.
My 2017 S3 Stage I tune made my car significantly quicker! I am ecstatic to take it to my favorite twisties, and Im seriously considering a transmission tune and some track time now!

BFI is my go to when I need work on my BMW. Theyve always been honest with me and informative about future services I might need, but never high pressure sales.
They took care of multiple issues with my car in less than a day, and were straightforward about their work.
I have ordered a weighted shift knob, clutch and lightened flywheel, and a poly bushing kit. All items are of extremely high quality and came packaged nicely. My order was delayed by something being out of stock which is no issue as i was not in a hurry for my order but the customer service is some of the best I have ever encountered, extremely friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend their products to anyone looking to add an OEM+ addition to their car through a shift knob or improve the driving experience with their other products.

First off, the staff at BFI are phenomenal. Adam, at the front desk, is awesome and knowledgeable. He has never steered me wrong and always updates me on any problems with parts or anything with my car. Theyre never pushy and wont let you get an upgrade that wont work with your car. The prices are fair and reasonable. I have had multiple upgrades done to my car and I am wholly satisfied. Top notch in my book
Be very careful with there online store for parts.i ordered 2 items over 10 days ago and neither item has shipped.i called for the 3rd and last time today and got no where.if your vehicle is in the shop and costing you everyday to be there,i would recommend going a different route.theyre not concerned with getting there parts out in a timely manner.

Got my downpipe installed, converted the exhaust to 3” instead of reducing it to 2.5”. Adam helped me out throughout the whole process. Definitely will be coming back to this shop for any work I need done on my euro cars.

I was shopping around for a new shop. i have an m3 and a shop that’s reliable is most important to me. they did the tech inspection and brake flush for a track weekend (easy) but showed me something they were doing for bmw’s with dct transmissions. they could swap out the factory shifter with this slick manual knob. i love it. i’m looking forward to seeing what else i can do on the car.
A co-worker referred me to BFI after my car started to leak. I called Audi to make an appt and they told me the next opening they had was the following month. I called BFI and two days later my car was in their shop getting fixed AND I save a nice amount of money too. I have since gone back to them twice and will continue bring my car to them. Adam is awesome and so are the guys that worked on my vehicle(sorry I dont know their names). I HIGHLY recommend these guys....they know their stuff! And I love the dogs!!
BFI is hands down the best shop I have taken my Audi to. They provide great parts, do solid work and provide top notch customer service. My car has been brought into them multiple occasions in the last few months for an assortment of things; engine and body related. I have used other shops in the area that didnt compare to BFI. This is and will continue to be my shop.
I take my audi a4 2007 for servicing. The price is very reasonable. Staff is courteous. Though, some time it took more time than what I was told, but I understand that.I would certainly recommend people to go there.

Very impressed with the staff and facility at Black Forest. They were able to research the issue with my car previous to me coming in and knew what was needed when I dropped the vehicle off. The repair was done quickly at a resonable cost. If you’re in need of service or upgrades on your VW you should check them out first.

We called Black Forest for guidance and they immediately were helpful on the phone. We had previously called BMW shop and they were rude. Black Forest told us a few things to try and it didnt work so I had AAA tow it to them. It ended up being the starter. They kept me updated as needed.We had used them with a VW Jetta my son had just never used them for the BMW Z4. We will use them again if needed.I would recommend this shop.
Just had the timing chain replaced on my GTI earlier this week and Im really pleased with my experience at BFI. Adam is really friendly and he was willing to answer all my questions and educate me on what needed to be done. They performed the job well, on time and for a fair price. Overall I would highly recommend going to them for any work you need done on your VW/Audi and Im looking forward to working with them again when I start modifying my car!

A pricey shop for maintenance, but what shop isnt these days. The staff seems helpful and knowledgeable on everything European. If you have never been to Raleigh/Cary NC, Black Forest Industries is tough to find

Great Staff and Service Technicians that will explain any issue that your car has until you understand it. They also give great recommendations and are committed to completing any work needed ASAP. Any one that owns a VW, Audi, or BMW should really get Black Forest to service or upgrade their car. I am a repeat customer and will continue to be.

Dont buy lug bolts and wheel lock kits here. Took forever to ship and to add insult to injury they were the wrong size. Pete then apologized and sent me the correct ones. That was two years ago. Flash forward to about two months ago I misplace my wheel lock key and try to order a replacement. Pete tells me their supplier is working on it. Flash forward to now, still no lock key and Pete informs me after bugging him about it that I wont be able to get the key for another few months. Said screw it and had a local shop remove the wheel locks so I can mount my winter tires. Had I gotten a flat tire during that time I would have been screwed. Pete didnt offer anything to make up for the months I waited for a new wheel lock key only to find out it was never going to be sent. Buy your automotive hardware elsewhere.

Well I cant be sure what to think of the mix of negativity and the 5 star ratings with no text - seems a little suspicious to me so I am on the fence.~my personal experience.I ordered some new lights.I got order from Black Forest Industries and no bulbs not even a single word of instruction on how to installIt mentions the LED lights are included. Never mentions anything about the other bulbs but picture shows assembly with bulbs in it.After reading the 4 pages of what the company cannot be held liable or responsible for basically - it read like no matter what they do they cannot be held accountable.If they dont 100% guarantee the work then I am sorry find another sucker I am not rich.
I have taken my 2008 Porsche 911 to the guys at Black Forest twice now. Both times they have done great work at a fair price. As you can imagine, I am picky about who I let touch my Porsche and Black Forest has earned my trust!
All good and this APR Stage 1 software is crazy good! Turbo lag, what lag, gone. Like driving a new car. Can’t wait for Down Pipe and intercooler now.

I brought in my VW to Black Forest and I was so surprised at the service. Joe explained everything to me and gave me multiple options and treated me like an equal. Being a female, that doesnt happen often at car places. The mechanic (Carlos) and Joe were so knowledgeable and were able to get me back on the road in no time. I left feeling like I knew what was wrong and how it was fixed. I wont be going anywhere else for my VW again. Best service Ive had!
Ive been taking my Audi to Black Forest for a couple years now. Its easy to setup time for routine maintenance and even when I had an unexpected break down the team made time for my car to get me back on the road. Great staff, highly recommended.

Was searching for a specific bolt for my two piece BBS that was discountinued a few years back. After calling BBS directly and titanium both manufacturers it led me to BFI, where Daniel found one of the titanium bolts at the bottom of some box and was able to ship it out for me for free. What a life saver will definitely order more stuff from them. All of the reviews regarding emails not being answered I recommend calling them directly for great support :)
