Im a resident of North Carolina, but I have a Connecticut state ID. I saw no reason to get a North Carolina identification card when my own doesnt expire in years, and Im not required to for any paperwork or legal reasons until that occurs.The issue is they denied service to me, stating that they werent allowed to take out of state identification even if I was twenty-one unless it was a driving license. While I had no problems in the past purchasing from another ABC store, I assumed this was policy and made it a point to let it go so that I could call the customer support line later to ensure I had not simply been denied based on how I look (I have a very young face even for twenty-one).What upset me was that they then denied service to my co-worker, who was over twenty-one but had a NC state ID as required. My mother, who has an out of state driving license has purchased countless times and when I was carded alongside her, we faced no issues as I am of age. While I do understand the initial concern because of how I appear (I often get carded no matter where I go), I felt the behavior was unjustified and extensive. If they felt my ID was a fake, they could have scanned it.We were laughed at and treated as if we were simply two teenagers attempting to buy liquor, which in hindsight will be funny later on in life; but as someone with social anxiety, the situation was even more uncomfortable in the moment to the point where I started to exhibit tics. I wished they could have handled the situation a bit better, especially since we went to another ABC right after and, of course, bought without any of that treatment.

Liquor is liquor, right? Always fast and nice employees. Sometimes youre lucky to catch a nice little sale or discount going on. Otherwise they have a good selection for the size of the shop. The parking lot sucks, but I guess theres not much they can do about it.

Good selection of adult beverages with reasonable prices. Good location since you can grocery shop and then head across parking lot a pick up a treat before heading home.

Small ABC store. They have all the major brand items that most stores would have. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary however, I would not go here. Parking lot is also small and fills up quickly at busy times.

This is a great store. I just wish they had a bit of a larger selection, but the do have everything to meet your basic needs. The staff is friendly, and it is located in a convenient area.

Love the place. All the liquors the world might request of a liquor store. Also the seasonal stuff is in (December) so its quite a treat.

Why would you not love your liquor store

So... not sure I get the state regulated thing but this is a great ABC because the regular employees are friendly and helpful. I even got tips on making limoncello!

This ABC Store is small but it has many quality brands. It is light on inexpensive brands (I was looking for an inexpensive 100% Agave Tequila to infuse with habanero), but for a quick and convenient location it should have at least one thing for anyone that visits.

Booze is booze. Easy to navigate the small store. Nice helpful staff.

October is the time of year to get gift sets for friends. I love these sets with the beverage and special branded drinking glasses...Adds a touch of elegance...affordable.

We stopped where while in town from Charleston SC and has the worst experience. My husband has a debit card with a chip malfunction ANY other store we have EVER been too has let him attempt a few times with the chip reader then swipe. When he attempted to do so here ( after the card machine told him to swipe) the “manager” canceled the sell and told him he couldn’t swipe the card despite what the reader was telling him. The manager then continued to be rude until my husband just left. I have never been to a store that refused money. Maybe they just don’t like out of towners 🤷🏻‍♀️ but being from a tourist city our selves we know how to treat customers no matter where they are from and will advise anyone we know coming to the area to not go there.

I dont know how to properly review an ABC store. It had alcohol. A store full of it.

A liquor store is a liquor store is a liquor store,yadda yadda yadda. North Carolina taxes are too high on liquor. A 1.75 liter bottle of Bombay sapphire gin is $48.00 here. In Tennessee it is $ 36.00. Go to tn to buy liquor and eat BBQ come here to live
