Had no issues, but I feel I have a responsibility to post that I went in with 3 people just now. Not one time did the young man working ask for an ID. I pulled it out after the sale and he said oh yeah thanks gotta do better.

Small store, but convenient and a good selection for the size of the store.

The only good thing about this place is that theyre open till midnight. Their selection is horrible and their prices are way too high, especially compared to the other liquor stores in town. They need to change the name of the store because you certainly dont pay less there.

Dont be fooled by the name as you will not pay less here. Stopped to grab my wife a 12-pack of White Claw after a bike ride at Ridgeline and was pretty astonished at the price tag (with tax) of almost $21. You will pay less than that at 99% of other vendors.

Not a bad place at all. Great selection of everyones favorites as well as a stock of holiday classics and for those with a bit of an exotic taste there are lots of top shelf exquisites, Black, Gold Or, high-end labeled. Of course the old trustee shooters and bottom of the barrow sludge for those with a college tuition lol. GreAt customer services wraps up this local liquor lodge quite nicely. I feel its already time to go back! (Its 5 oclock somewhere right?)

This liquor store stays open late and has a good variety of liquors.

This place is basically The Hall of Heros. And if you say otherwise its because youve never experienced a beer shortage panic after 10pm and it shows. Love Payless!

The owner is rude asked nicely for a brand of wine he completely seemed uninterested. Told me” That doesn’t help” while looking at his phone and not even acknowledging me. Don’t get how a brand of wine I asked for isn’t “helpful”. Get off your phone and humble yourself buddy. First and last time. Take your business elsewhere please!

Only place I could find Evan Williams Bourbon Egg Nog. Everywhere else was sold out. Staff was very helpful

I went in for beer, bacardi and a bottle of ginger ale. I looked in the cooler by the register and saw only small, 20 ounce bottles of a few sodas, so I asked the guy at the counter if he had any ginger ale, he said no, so I asked if he had any larger bottles of soda. He acted irritated with me and vaguely motioned to the aisle behind the cooler and said, there. I looked there and saw only mixers, so I looked around myself and found a large cooler with 2 liter bottles of soda. Still, no ginger ale, so fine, I chose Sprite and went to the register, wondering why he didnt tell me when I asked for a larger bottle. I showed it to him and motioned to the large cooler and said, the large bottles are right there. He immediately got belligerent, saying that I asked for ginger ale and he didnt have any. I told him that I then asked for larger bottles of any soda. He then told me to leave, saying I wasnt welcomed. I had to laugh, thinking of the five other liquor stores in this town, knowing he was trying to get me to take the small bottles for whatever self-serving purpose, or was just taking his own miserable life out on me. It might matter that Im a woman, who knows, but all of my friends now know not to shop here.

Great store and awesome owner! His prices are very competitive to big warehouse stores. Definitely check this place out.

I WAS going here for years but the owner disrespected me tonight. We’ve never had a problem with the Indian guy with the Benz parked out front but tonight he told me to “check my balance before going in” because my card got declined. I’ve never encountered someone that disrespectful at this liquor store. Never returning after 10 years of purchasing here! Take your money to Bubbles!

Literally – go anywhere else. The owner of this liquor store is rude, unprofessional and has zero interest in servicing, pleasing or returning customers. I buy the same product all the time, when I got rung up this last time the price was so much higher. When I questioned the price, the man told me the price had gone up. I asked why it had gone up when no other liquor stores had increased the price to which the owner pulled back the 2 bottles of champagne I was purchasing and told me I could go elsewhere! I asked him if he was the owner and he assured me he was.This place is gross anyways. Dust covers all the bottles and shelves while the owner sits behind the desk and watches tv so make sure to clean anything you purchase from here and know upfront, you’re paying more – just because. I will be happy when this place either comes under new ownership OR goes bankrupt as I believe, they do not deserve the good people of Castle Rock’s patronage and support.I doubt the man that claimed to be the owner is actually the owner and can’t possibly be the down to Earth owner all these other reviews mention.
