Came to Cedar Rapids on a business trip, I realized that it wasnt a lot of places to eat on the strip that I was on! Their sign caught my eye because Im a trucker! Walked in the place and was greeted by the own with a warm smile, enough of the small talk lets get to the meat and potatoes of this review. I ordered the chef special BBQ Brisket, macn cheese with seared broccoli. The brisket is smoked in house and the macn cheese is homemade! His birthday was yesterday and he blessed us with some cake! Food was very flavorful and great portions. We ordered the pile up, eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak, gyro hash and pancakes. Hash was a little cold but tasted great. Pancakes were cooked perfectly.The ham with the Benedict was a little off tasting but otherwise great.Pile up tasted fresh and flavorful.The chicken friend steak was a favorite for all at the table.***Does not follow any COVID guidelines***Staff does not wear a mask & no social distancing for seating.

AMAZING place to eat. Were greeted as soon as we walk in the door. Very friendly, attentive wait staff and a great cook. Menu has something for everyone and its ALL homemade! Dining area is decorated well and very clean. We feel like family as soon as we walk in, but the best part is that the owner walks out into the dining area and talks to everyone. Truly cares about service and food quality.... if for any reason something wasnt right, hell make it right! Great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Definitely eat there every chance we get! My sister, mother, and I visited this newer restaurant last Saturday afternoon for the first time. The place is small but cute, lots of road signs and that sort of decor. Definitely had the small diner feel. Restrooms and restaurant were both clean. Almost all tables were full the entire time we were there. Decent sized menu featuring breakfast and lunch items. Their shipwreck sounded delicious but we opted for lunch. My sister and I got the chicken salad sandwich with fries and my mom got the gyro. Service was quick and friendly, the food came out in good time despite a full house. Our sandwiches were tasty, mom also liked her gyro. The standout though were the fries.... So yummy! The only negative thing I would mention is that our tomatoes on our sandwiches still had a sticker on them. My sister and I didnt mind though and chuckled at the freshness. We plan to come back to try the breakfast!
My self and my mother went here for the first time today, the service was mediocre and we had to ask for more water. The food was decent until about half way through our omelets we both on separate dishes found under cooked runny eggs. On an omelet….. other than that as I said it was decent and I hope for a better experience next time.

I cant say enough good things about Paul and his staff! Always so friendly and go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome.Now for the food. Best breakfast in town! Quality fresh ingredients and generous portions. One of my favorites is the corned beef and it is the only place I will eat it. Real corned beef mixed with hashbrowns not the salty stuff out of a can.Another added perk is you are supporting a local business.

We went here for lunch 24 February, as we were referred to the diner. The atmosphere there was very relaxing and friendly. The owner waited on us and the service could not have been better. We all tried something different (burger, gyro, BLT) and all three dishes were excellent. Comfort food would well describe it. There is also a breakfast menu and we will try that next. The prices are not cheap, but not expensive either. You get good food for a great price.

They are doing things the right way here. At first glance, one would judge this place by the cover. But the service, food, price, cleanliness, and common sense of their ownership and staff make a great atmosphere. Also, I should add that I brought my 4yr old son with me. The staff memebers were absolutely sweet and wonderful with him. What a great family restaurant.

We are visiting from Florida and decided to try this place. DELICIOUS! Food was good..coffee was good. Our waitress did forget to add cheddar to my omelet like I asked but it was still good.

Prices online verses in store seen to have a difference so make sure you double check. The croissant sandwich is good. However I did find pork when I ordered turkey which is a problem since I cant eat pork. Double check your food. Double check your charges.
Had lunch with ma and PA inlaws, everything was excellent, ma in law is a no meat eater, had fish and said it was the best in town,staff was VERY nice and Johnny on the spot, owner is a very caring person.

Breakfast 3-egg omelette fixed with my choice of ingredients...it was mouth watering deliciousness! Add a HUGE pancake...SO GOOD! I really tried to finish all the food but alas my stomach would not accommodate...to full! Great friendly service. Definite return visit in the future.

Ive had three burgers in my life that were legendary. One was in an antique store or near it somewhere in central Iowa some years ago. The second was in a small diner that looked like a caboose. I think it was in Guttenberg and I dont think the diner is there anymore. The third was in Highway 30 Diner a week ago this past Friday. Even though I was heading out on a camping trip, it was pouring rain and I was soaked and in a rotten mood. The burger was so good I perked up and was in a fantastic mood the rest of the day. Burgers that good shouldnt be legal.I only have one complaint and its a huge one. Big enough I want to knock off a star or two. The hours. Why does it close at 2pm? Im usually working the hours theyre open. I just happened to have that one day off. Ill keep the five stars, though. It was one amazing burger.

Food very basic. Nothing very special.I recommend luckys in czech village or st Pio or ihop or perkins.This place has Horrible customer service. Went in maybe 7- 10 min early before open (google said was open already) teenager asked us to sit in our car and wait. Now any good service would either not unlock the front door or say somwthing along the lines of. Oh we arent quite open. May i offer some coffee while we finish opening? Nope she was rude and abrasive as if she was given authority to say no so she wanted to be macho. Even if its just based on food alone. Nope. Not good anyway.

We ordered from door dash to support a local small business during this time and we were not disappointed! I work at another small local restaurant that’s closed do to the pandemic, so it was nice to be able to support another small business! We tried some of the breakfast items and they were amazing! The biscuits and gravy was AMAZING, the pancakes were approved by not only my husband but also our two year old!The omelette was fantastic and the hash browns were perfect! Keep up the good work!!

The fist time I came in was to support a local business owner and fellow motorcycle enthusiast. The reason we keep coming back is the service and amazing homemade food. The restaurant was clean with an everyones welcome atmosphere. The last time we were there they had Farmers, Bike riders, a local radio DJ, and a few families sitting and enjoying themselves. PS. Come Hungry, Hwy 30 Diners serves generous portion sizes.
This is a great place to eat! Gives you a small town atmosphere. Lots to choose from on the menu, havent been disappointed with anything Ive gotten. The owner walks around and makes sure everything is good for you.

AMAZING! Great food. Friendly staff. The decor is fun. I love the Orange and Black booths. There is a beautiful wood table outside. I ordered a Gyro with fries. The fries were crispy and tasted like heaven. My Gyro was cooked perfect and tasted like more heaven. I ate with my brother, two sisters, niece, mom, and husband. They all loved their food as well. My mom says well be back every Saturday. I apologize to anyone who may dine with us in advance, I am loud, my family is loud. We will try and be quiet and we will fail. Im so sorry lol...

We LOVE eating breakfast here on Sunday mornings. Lots of windows to let the sunshine in, servers are very friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious!
Clean and laid back. I reccomend the corned beef hash (seriously, try it) and the italian beef sandwich (so far the only items I have had because they are so so good). The quality of the food is top notch and you can tell it is made with care. For a sit down restaurant that is this affordable with this level of food, Paul and his team probably need to charge more. I dont know how they do it. Dont pass this place up!

We have had their breakfast and lunch. Both were absolutely delicious! A bit of a wait for our food, but that is to be expected in a new restaurant as they are working out the kinks. I recommend their fish and onion rings! You will NOT leave hungry - good sized portions. Cant beat the friendly service!
