Great experience. Had run out of contacts and broke my glasses on a Sunday morning. Went in and they assisted me in getting the glasses into a usable state and they got me an appointment on Monday morning.Eye exam was fantastic, I really appreciated the new camera they used which kept me from needing to have my eyes dilated. The ophthalmologist explained what she was looking for in the photos and showed me exactly what she was looking at, very neat to see and to get an understanding of what’s going on.Contacts were ordered and shipped directly to my home. The front office staff was incredibly friendly and personable all three times I have stopped by.
When I purchased my eye glasses last February 2020. I had a wonderful experience with the Assistant Manager. I purchased the warranty on them as well. Understanding that if I had any issues that I can have them replaced at NO CHARGE. When I went in to have the lens exchanged I was charged to use the warranty. WHAT?? I have never heard of charging someone to use their own warranty that they originally paid for? Super strange. And then I asked to keep my original lens when we did the exchange. Since I did pay for them. She said no and threw everything away! This is the NEW manager Zelena. Dont buy the warranty. Its a gimmick!!

Ordered a pair of glasses and after 4 weeks of no notification I called and left a voice mail twice, no returned phone call, no text, no email, nothing so I went to the optical dept and it was closed because someone called in sick. I complained to a store manager about poor customer service (no costumer service) the store manager Linda was very helpful and kind, she contacted the manager of the optical dept and said they will call me. Another week went by ( now on week 5). I went into optical dept again as soon as they opened and the gal said they were not sure if my glasses went to another store or what happened, she said there was no way to track it. They didnt offer me any other options so I requested a refund and now Im going to start this process elsewhere. Wish I would have read these reviews first. Good luck!
Have been seeing Dr Sheldon since I started needing glasses (10 years) and have had nothing but great experiences every time I came in to get an exam and glasses. I cannot say Ive ever had anything but great things to say about him and the service of the staff was great as well. Over the years Ive referred quite a few people in their direction. Today however the whole deal changed, with Dr Sheldon soon retiring I had a new dr., Which I was very open to and went pretty well, the help I received afterwards was a joke. I got to listen to complaining on whatever went on the night before, how they left the place a mess, and anything else I really didnt care to hear about. Sorry to say but After over 10 years, I am moving on to a different eye Care provider. I really wouldnt recommend this place to anyone anymore. Pretty sad!
Dr. Sheldon is the best eye doctor I’ve ever seen! He dials my eyes in perfectly. Unfortunately the staff that work there are so full of them self’s it’s not funny. Took for ever to order contacts which is a simple task you would think. Dr Sheldon gets 5 star review the staff gets minus -5. My suggestion to the staff is to take care of the customers to best of your ability and lose your smug attitudes.
Exam was quick, Dr. was very helpful. I called to try and have my prescription sent to me by email or fax and the person on the phone was talking down to me because I didn’t have my prescription. They could only send it by mail which doesn’t help if I need it right now. Also kept trying to get me to buy contacts directly from them. Very disappointed
Dr. Sheldon is great, the staff in the office not so good. Ive called three times for follow up and stopped in once and no one calls me back with questions about my contacts. Very disappointed, Ive been going to Champlin Target Optical for years.
Dr. Sheldon and the team at the Champlin Target Optical are amazing! The are fun yet detailed with your eye exam. Laura, the optical assistant, helped me pick the perfect pair of eye glasses. And she was very patient with all my questions! They are a busy clinic but they take time with you individually, so it is definitely worth it if you walk-in and have to wait just a little bit.
I had one of the WORST experiences with the staff. I was running late for my little sisters eye appointment I called in to confirm if I could still come in and rescheduled for the next day just in case I didnt see the doctor today. On arrival I was told Id have to wait as the doctor had to see all her patients before my sister was attended to. I waited for almost 2 hrs. I decided to ask one of the attendants (the one I had previously spoke to on phone) if I should keep waiting. With an attitude she tells me that the store is closing anyway so I should just leave. I asked if the appointment was still confirmed for the next day, she rudely says that she didnt set it. I ask why, she said that they dont double-book. I wondered why she didnt mention this on phone. The disturbing part was that the manager was watching all this, she did not step in to the situation so she tolerated it. You can imagine my thoughts as I walked out the store. I wouldnt want to assume it was some form of discrimination but one cant help but think it.
Dr. Sheldon is wonderful however every single year I have the same issue with staff communication. I NEVER get called when my trials come so I call to confirm and if I get voice mail I leave one and that message never gets a return call. It is very strange and this is every year. I will be there grocery shopping and pop in and sure enough oh yes they came a few days ago here you go like no big deal. I am a -8.5 to me that is a very big deal if I cannot see.
They went out of there way for me and made sure I had everything I needed and gave us free samples saving us alot of money. The person who helped me was named Robyn. Very helpful thank you so much for your help.
I would like to give them a higher rating but after multiple attempts to get a reading prescription I finally gave up and wanted the glasses made into distance glasses like my sunglasses. I gave the reading glasses multiple tries and had additional eye exams and the glasses still weren’t working for me. Now for the “magic” part... when I asked to have them changed they told me it had been too long. Really? We were trying to get the glasses right all that time. Then the offer to have yet another exam (not covered in our insurance) and spend even more on more glasses. Yes, please let me throw more good money after bad! What a disappointment! If you need reading glasses I have an expensive pair here that are useless to me!
Every single time I have an appointment, Dr. Sheldon is at least 20 minutes late. I have been his first appointment of the day and he still waltzes in a half hour late like its no big deal. He is rude and arrogant and has no respect for anyone elses time. I have walked out more than once because I could not wait more than a half hour PAST my appointment time due to other commitments. There are other Doctors there on his days off and they are WAY better.

Just so you know this rant will be LONG! It’s been a battle!!I firstly want to say that the employees were wonderful and I am thankful for their great service...I waited a couple of months until everything settled with getting my glasses and confirming my contacts. I just have to say the Doctor there is the worse person ever.My first appointment I waited 40min PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME BECAUSE HE WASNT THERE YET! I had paid almost $400 for my glasses OUT OF POCKET!(which I accepted it) This doctor told me my eye session with him is covered by my insurance, so he scheduled me for a dilating(which I didn’t know what that was before). And took myself home with trial contacts.The next day or two, Second appointment for the day of my dilating yet again LATE TO SERVICE ME 20min...He decided he didn’t want me to get dilated because HE DIDNT HAVE TIME because he’s busy and needs me to pick a time he can do it!!!(First off we scheduled according to his timing and my timing) And he said he forgot to charge me the $45 set for fitting? For trial contacts, for which I had no clue and was confused about because I wasn’t EXACTLY TOLD WITH DETAIL AND PLUS ITS MY FIRST TIME KNOWING THESE STUFF!! The stupid part was he handed me the trial contacts and when I asked him why I had to pay $45, he SNATCH THE CONTACT BOXES FROM MY HAND SAYING “well it’s just $45 and I charge pretty cheap, if you don’t want to pay $45 I will take this back” like WHO THE HECK ARE YOU TO SNATCH IT OFF A PATIENT WHO HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON? I just freaken paid almost $400 of glasses of course I would be confused to why I had to pay a little more... So I ended up paying $45 because I really wanted to try the contacts and didn’t want to have to redue everything.I chilled... rescheduled my dilating AGAIN....1 week AFTER second attempted, came back yet again 20min LATE ON MY TIME and the stupid Doctor said “I AM SO BUSY I DONT HAVE TIME TO SPEND 2-4 hours to do your dilating”... so from then I just RESCHEDULE AGAIN!3rd attempt of dilating 2 weeks later, he was 15min late on my appointment, but it was successful and it only TOOK 30-40min total to do the dam dilating!!! Like he made it sound like each dam time I reschedule it was gonna take 2-3 hours(he said) stupid doctor. I honestly feel so ashamed of him. I have never felt so angry about a review in my life until I met the stupid doctor who was RUDE, treated me like I was STUPID... everyone don’t know the EYE DOCOTOR WORLD AND I HOPE HE READS THIS AND TREAT EVERYONE ELSE LIKE THEY ARE NEW TO THIS AND EXPLAIN THE DAM PROCESS PROPERLY AND WELL MANNER!This was a whole month process WASTING MY GAS COMING BACK TO THIS GUY! I stay this long because I needed my glasses since I ordered it the first day already and I didn’t want to flake out cause I want my glasses in peace. I will never go to HIM anymore.You may have a different experience but this was my experience and I hope he takes this as a dam lesson to be kind and detailed and not rush his clients out the door because he was running late.
