Ive been here several times. They have some cool clothes if youre size is less than 12. They barely sell anything at or above 12. They also disabled commenting on their Instagram right after someone commented asking them to be more size inclusive.

Such a nice experience! I needed to return a pair of shorts because the detergent they were washed in caused me to have an allergic reaction. Jane and Molly were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to search for my transaction so they could give me a full refund. I couldnt ask for better customer service!

This place is AMAZING!!! I’ve sold a ton of stuff to rumors over the years and I’ve also picked up a few of my favorite pairs of shoes there. The staff is super kind and store itself has a great vibe. Definitely a must visit!

Visiting from out of town (PA) and looked at the thrift stores in the area, found this gem and was not disappointed! The staff was so friendly, my friend and I talked to them for almost an hour while we shopped. Went to their sister store as well and had the same experience. Just very very friendly. When I asked if they knew of any other vintage or thrift shops in the area that were handicap accessible, as we were there with another friend of ours that required different ability friendly places, they gave us a great list of places to go! I honestly couldn’t say enough good things about both locations, and THEY SHIP so I’ve purchased a few things from PA and had them within the week - I don’t have to miss out on one of the best thrifty/vintage stores I’ve been to in a long time.

Although I may have never been in store, the online buying experience has been great! Great staff and I recommend all my friends near and far to shop with them and support their local business!!! My go-to shop.

Employee are always socializing it seems like a hang out rather than a store. It also seems like you can find any of these clothes in any third store. Not the best quality either. Honestly you can find clothes that don’t have small holes or rips at the thrift store. Goes to show having a used clothing store on Franklin means they up charge for the same used stuff goodwill has

I love this place! I just moved into the area and had a *ton* of clothes I didnt need anymore, so I brought them here! It only took them 20 minutes to go through my two huge bins of clothing, AND the price I got for what they took was fantastic! Theyll also donate anything else you dont want to keep, which is super convenient. I cant recommend them more!

I’ve occasionally heard rumors (haha) about this place not being size inclusive, but i honestly don’t understand why! i’m a size 16 and there’s always something in my size at rumors. i got one of my favorite skirts here for like $4 😎 the employees are almost intimidatingly cool and the rumors tote bags are super cute! i shop here and at the durham store allllll the time and im never disappointed :-)

I love thrifting here and always find unique and quality items in my size. The staff is really nice and welcoming. They have a capacity limit to keep people safe during the pandemic. I think this a good idea but they should give customers a time limit for shopping. During my visit today (Sunday), there were at least twenty people queued up outside waiting to shop. I waited outside for thirty minutes and there was no traffic in or out of the store that entire time. I’m not impatient but I’m not going to wait indefinitely for second-hand clothes, especially when the staff is making no effort to keep people moving in and out of the store in an efficient manner. My advice to arrive as soon as they open to avoid the exorbitant wait time.

Great selection of alternative clothing. Prices are reasonable and the store is clean and well organized. I recommend going on a week night to avoid waiting outside while others finish shopping. I like that you can get store credit for clothes but they’re selective about what they’ll take (which keeps inventory good).

“Fuck fast fashion” but massively upsells cheap jewelry they found on AliExpress as “rumors originals” so check there before you spend a ton on accessories. Don’t even try shopping for clothes if you wear anything above a 14/size large. Refuses to engage criticism & deletes comments to hide it despite being extremely careless with how the store presents itself (fatphobic comments, describing items as ‘oriental,’ and worse). Try real thrift stores that donate their proceeds instead

My friend and I visited this past weekend and had a great experience. The store is enforcing COVID guidelines and only allowing a few people in the store at one time (masks required, of course). The store was very clean, and they had a great selection of clothing for really good prices (no home wares). The workers were all very friendly.Definitely recommend a visit if you love to thrift!

I love going to Rumors so much! I always go here and I always find something that I love! The employees are very friendly and helpful and are all the type of people youd want to be friends with. Its a very safe space here. Theyre really good about sticking to COVID-19 measures - there is a strict limit on the number of people in the store at all times. Unfortunately, you cant try on clothes in the store due to COVID-19, but they grant store credit for the cost of the item!

I have been selling and buying at rumors for about 6 years now and I love their store. I get so many compliments on items I’ve picked up. I love how they list items on their Instagram feed and you can also buy from home that way! & Especially during the pandemic, I’ve really appreciated how they advocate for the safety of their staff and customers. As a vaccinated but immunocompromised person, I also VERY much appreciate how they have a mask policy while indoors. I will continue to shop and support them and feel safe doing so! I go thrifting a fair amount, especially now because I have a tight spending budget. I’ve been to Rumors twice and both times I’ve been less than impressed- mostly because I don’t consider Rumors a true thrift store. The primary reason for this is their prices. Their prices are comparable if not the exact amount (especially for some items, such as their t shirts) to the original price of the item. Some items I felt were significantly marked down (like jeans) but mostly I just felt that it was too much money to spend at a thrift store. If you want something thats somewhat marked down but not really a thrift store (in terms of prices) this is your place. They do have good quality items but that’s true of most thrift stores. Thrifting is something that’s supposed to be open to everyone, especially people who don’t have excess money to be spending but thats not really true of Rumors. If you have the money to be spending on higher quality items, please do that. Second hand clothing is more economically friendly but this is too expensive and it’s pretty much gentrifying thrifting- which is a huge problem. I don’t want to hurt a small business but I also don’t want to not speak up abt what thing I consider to be a serious problem.

Ive been buying from Rumors for a few years now. Theyve become a staple in my closet as I try to shop more ethically. Im always able to find reasonably priced items in good condition, and I love how is easy it is to shop from them online. They also have great accessories to pick from (earrings, pins, patches, unique sunglasses). Absolutely recommend.

I love Rumors! Besides being in a convenient location, the customer service is excellent, it’s perfect to go with friends, and it has a great selection of items.

We had a great experience at Rumors. They have very hip and unique inventory. The customer service was amazing! The folks who work there obviously care that you have an inclusive and amazing shopping experience. They reach out to find out what you may be interested in. They allow you to browse. They make suggestions for you. Sometimes you wander into a shop, and you look around and no one even speaks to you, and you feel a bit lost. That will not happen here. They know about their inventory and are excited to tell you about it. I went with my preteen daughter and a friend of hers, and they are still talking about the inventory and kindness of the staff.

I started shopping at Rumors in 2014, stumbled upon the store while out for a walk and was immediately intrigued by their fun music and vibe. I have continued to find amazing pieces that are favorites in my wardrobe - FP, linen shirts, vintage mens button ups, not to mention my denim shorts collection. Now that I live in Florida I love the option to shop on instagram which is super convenient. The clothing is all extremely reasonably priced and great quality brands. Their accessories are all super exciting as well. I have found since shopping at Rumors I have dived into my own personal style a lot more and always feel confident in pieces I have collected from there over the years.

Let me start off saying I do love the clothes here. But I will never be back again. I came inside and no one welcomed me. I seen a few things I liked I only needed a quick outfit. I came to the cashier and had my sunglasses in my hand . I handed over the merch & she ask me “ the sunglasses too or they’re yours”? Being that I’m African American I felt very discriminated. They was my sunglasses, if they paid more attention and welcomed me they would saw I walked in with them on. Will be returning the clothes

Its much more affordable than any thrift store I would find near me at home where the era of overpriced vintage has burdened NYC. A cool second hand shop with a relaxed atmosphere. A visit can be hit or miss, so all the more reason to stop by often. I saw a nice variety of sizes, and a good blend of trendier items alongside a respectable collection of essentials. I found a nice shirt and checked out, wishing Id given myself a little more time to glance over the huge table of sunglasses. I guess Ill just have to go back.

Really loved this place. The people were very friendly and helpful and the clothes were really cool and there were a lot of choices. In the change room there was a sign that said if the clothes didnt fit your beautiful body then to put them on a rack outside and i thought that was cute. Its always nice to be uplifted instead of upset when clothes dont fit right.

I really missed shopping at Buffalo Exchange before finding this shop. They have great options for clothes (I shop both genders) and accessories. Prepare to spend a lot of time in here if youre like me.
