A friend and I are slowly eating our way through the menu. The food is creative, fresh, and delicious. Weve had the same server twice a month apart. She remembered us and did not rush us. The wine cellar in the back for private parties is inspiring me to find an occasion to celebrate and share the experience soon!
I cant write a more positive review of Laura Alberts. The menu is all fabulous, healthy and fresh. In the current environment of understaffed retail, they go above and beyond to deliver not only great food but a great experience. As the Executive Chef, Curtis bridges the gap between a unique and fresh menu and customer service. I would go everyday.
Fabulous dinner. They have take out during the week. You can dine in on Wednesdays. I have loved everything i have ordered there.
Enjoyed brunch on the patio. Food/service were excellent. Meatloaf sandwich was juicy and tender...not what youd expect from meatloaf.
Stopped in for lunch with a work colleague. I didnt realize there was a restaurant there; I thought it was a wine store! Anyway, I had the house salad with grilled Mahi and it was fantastic. The staff are all so nice and attentive. They do also have quite a few gluten free items on the lunch menu. The only down side was we had to eat inside on a beautiful day without a reservation. I will definitely return for more.
The best culinary experience overall on Daniel Island. The wine selection upon seating sets the platform to a culinary delight of taste and a genuine flavor of Southern cuisine. 5 stars! This is a gem!!
Delicious and great service! Sat outside, just wish the fan worked, but the atmosphere in the courtyard made up for it.
Not enough positive things could be said about the food here. Exceptional quality and service. Highly recommend!
We just had an amazing lunch at Laura Alberts! Everything was delicious and the people there could not have been any nicer. The food came out quickly and everything was really, really great! We will definitely be back, this is our new favorite place!
Amazing staff and top notch food. Always impresses!
Nice spot for brunch and fresh dishes. Great wine selection also to choose from.
Very nice place to lunch. Recommend the blackened salmon on salad. Not spicy hot like Cajun blackened foods tend to be.
The food is good. No complaints there. The portions are decent. Just beware if youre calling in an order from an online menu. Prices that are shown online are MUCH different than what youll actually pay.
Great service. Great food. Perfect evening..
Laura Alberts has the best food in Daniel island. Having lunch or weds dinner is like getting a warm hug from a friend or your family. It is warm cozy and exquisite! A must try in Daniel Island!
Never a bad meal at LA’s. Friendly staff, desserts to die for and a great wine selection for dining or by the bottle for your cellar.
This little gem has genuine chef talent. Specially prepared each day. We can’t wait to taste and reserve our favorite dishes, with always specialty dishes of the week. Great service. Cute ambiance indoor and out!
Absolutely amazing! The hospitality here was indescribable, I felt like all they wanted was to make sure we were as happy as could be! Along with the amazing staff, the food was absolutely delicious! I went with a group of 6 and everybody ordered something completely different. We all ended up sharing because each plate was so scrumptious! Will definitely be returning and highly suggest to anybody! (And forgot to mention their great microbrew selection!!)
Laura Alberts remains my favorite restaurant for lunch in the Charleston area. It has been deliciously consistent from day one. Even when an order is made in error, they are very apologetic and fix any mistake immediately. My favorite sandwich here is the blackened chicken!Their COVID regulations are: temperature check upon entering the restaurant and masks are required to enter. I noticed many tables that had reserved notes. Apparently you can make reservations here for lunch. 🤷 I initially thought they were doing that to space out the tables (6 feet apart since you do not wear a mask while eating), but that does not seem to be the case.
Really love this place....never have had a bad meal or experience here. Definitely one of the better choices on DI!
Delightful menu, decor, and service!
The food is so good! We love ordering lunch from Laura Alberts. I try to have something new every time and it doesnt matter what I get, its always delicious!
Great Food! Great Service!A Must See Restaurant!
We picked Laura Alberts for our first Daniel Island dining experience. A wise choice as it turned out. On a beautiful day we opted for a table outside on their secluded patio. A truly relaxing spot. Service was prompt and courteous as we perused the luncheon menu. My Ahi Tuna BLT ($15) was perfectly cooked and beyond tasty. My sister had the Fried Green Tomato & Pesto Ham sandwich ($13) which was expertly crafted and tasty as well. Looking forward to a repeat visit and further exploring their wine shop inside. TIP: Arrive early for lunch as the restaurants tables (inside and out) were totally occupied by 12:30.
Awesome food for sure, but not very good service, i was there at lunch time from 1pm until 2pm I had lemonade when I finish my lemonade the server came and filled my lemonade empty glass with water I didnt say anything because I wasnt sure why she did that maybe because there is no refill on the lemonade then when everyone left around us as we asked for the bill she asked me if I wanted more lemonade, so I guess she knew I was drinking lemonade, also my friend had sweet tea, when she refill the glass she filled the glass with unsweetened tea, we were there for 1 hour at lunch we only got 2 refills, and that is why my 4 stars food was awesome I had the short rib sandwich w salad that was fenomenal except the price 19 dollars for it, our table was a party of 3 and our server name was Alice according to our ticket, our ticket number was 57, date 7/ 23/ 20 and our bill for 3 people was 60.42 before tip.
Great food.....very personable staff
Absolutely fantastic! We had wonderful service today on the quaint back patio. Clearly they didnt expect the wonderful weather and the crowd that came with it, but both the server and the kitchen rolled with it. The food was amazing. I had the blackened tuna BLT... Phenomenal. My friend had the braised short rib sandwich and raved about it. The blue cheese cole slaw was wonderful. I will be back. Hint: they take reservations for lunch and today you needed them. We were lucky to be one of the first to sit outside.
We stop in Laura Alberts as often as we can for lunch! We usually get their Caesar Salad with Blackened Chicken but also LOVE their Braised Beef Short Rib & Crab Cakes. This is a great place to meet a friend for lunch, especially when the weather is nice enough to can sit on the patio!
Perfectly delicious spot for lunch.
Fantastic food, served well. Great wines to be paired along with. Wife is there at lunch right now.
Wow! The excellent service was refreshing. The food quality, preparation and taste was all great. Fantastic atmosphere. What else can you ask for? Will be back again soon.
Always love the food, BBQ shrimp and grits!
First time ever on the island and had dinner there tonight. The food was very good and fresh. The service and hospitality was awesome. I will be back on the island thru out the summer and will be back
Most delicious food for an extremely reasonable price!Excellent service, great specials menu, perfect place to bring friends or family. The outdoor seating area is so sweet and dogs are allowed on the patio.Desserts are creative and delightful.Theres a diverse list of drinks to choose from, and their mimosas are unbeatable. Also a very vegetarian friendly place!
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Owner is INSANE about “CDC GUIDELINES”. Just tried to go for lunch and shes super condescending, took our temperature ( 🤯 what!?) and then aggressively told us to “keep our mask on until our beverage arrived”. We have been to dozens of restaurants in charleston recently and NONE of them do that. Not one single other restaurant across all of charleston.
Always great food and service is also great. Menu has great variety and it does get busy at lunch time.Everyone one there is friendly.
Great food. I was concerned that there were no masks or gloves on servers.
Owners are very nice (Laura). We met them as they were eating at the rate beside us in the outdoor courtyard. The owners daughter is running the restaurant day to day now, and she is very knowledgeable about the craft beers they see e. They will give you a taste of the draft brews before purchase. A nice touch I think. We had appetizers only since we were headed to the ZZ Top concert. The shrimp and crab wontons were awesome. As was Lauras Trio of mixed cheese balls and crackers. We will definitely be returning to this place when we travel to the Charleston area in the future.
The most incredible meal at Laura Alberts! Valentine’s Day, seared tuna and seared mahi. With a most incredible house made chocolate bourbon Pecan Pie made by Laura herself! My tastebuds are still vibrating!!!
This place is such a hidden gem. The food is always top notch. The tomato soup which was a special today was incredible.
Charming and delicious. Excellent service. I had the Spinach salad with a bacon vinaigrette!
The food was not fresh and seemed prepackaged in quality. Definitely not worth the $30/person price tag. The sauce served with the shrimp dish was sticky and syrupy. Very unappetizing. The appetizers were decent and there’s a great beer/wine selection. But the entrees are a total waste of money and are a bit gross. I might go back for just drinks but stay far away from the food menu.
Great as usual. Always consider a reservation for lunch if you particularly want outdoor courtyard seating.
Awesome place for a meal. Very knowledgeable staff and full of good local information.
Love the food and service at Laura Alberts!! I make it there at least once a week. Everything is housemade and delicious. Favorites are the jerk salmon, pimento cheese egg salad sandwich and the pies!
Food and service is consistently A+. This is my offices go-to spot for lunch because its delicious and quick for how busy they can get even at rush hour. Love it here. Anything with their pimento cheese on it is god-tier amazing.
Awesome dinner. Best jambalaya anywhere with chopped salad
Amazing meal with great service and wine. I will definitely return! The tuna appetizers was great.
Good selection of wines and craft beers. Havent tried the food but theyre always busy when I step in.
Excellent food, friendly service, cozy low-country vibe. Lunch prices are moderate ($15-$25 per person). Can get a little busy at peak lunch times.
Wish i had known about this place before. Food was delicious. I had the dill shrimp salad over a spinach base. Also had a cup of perfectly brewed coffee. Since listt is amazing i will need to return for dinner.
We stopped in because we saw they had the Game of Thrones beer on tap. It was relatively quiet but the staff there was so kind of we had a great conversation while trying some local and other craft beers. Would be very interested in coming back to try a meal the next time Im in the area.
Is was first class all the way.Visiting from NC, but hope to return soon for the delicious mahi!
The food was very good. It has a nice atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
Dang! Really good Tuna blt.... friendly staff. You can buy a bottle of wine at a nice retail price and drink it for a nominal corkage fee...awesome!
My wife recommended so I went. She had a spinach salad ..quite small for my standards. But when you look around the tables, its mostly women. I ordered the meatloaf with a side of potato salad. The meatloaf was more a hamburger -nothing but ground meat...not even close to a simple meatloaf recipe. It came on cibatta bread w. a little mustard. The potato salad was just potato and mayo and mustard. Again nothing added like red pepper, celery onion etc.Apparently this cafe or bistro doesnt care about making their dishes better .Men you are better off staying home! Or better yet go somewhere else. The waitress never once came to check in on us. I ended up telling the manager my meal was unacceptable and the service was terrible..Let the women it their dainty unsavory food.Guys go elsewhere!
Excellent food and service. Great selection of dishes. Price reasonable.
Great food and good menu. Space is fairly tight and there is very little waiting area. They need to expand to make dining more comfortable...
Coconut Pie is absolutely outstanding!! I have to thank my wonderful mother-in-law for discovering the pie while visiting from Connecticut.Everything about the pie was perfect, the crust, the coconut filling was delicious. If I understand correctly, the pie is not available all of the time so call or order ahead of time.
Delicious gourmet sandwiches and dishes. They have my absolute favorite pimento cheese. The BBQ they do is excellent. One of the best restaurants on Daniel Island
You HAVE to try this place for brunch. this is THE BEST brunch I have ever had. It is moderately priced, very cute restaurant and so tasty!
I love this place for brunch or a simple but delicious lunch. Their seared tuna is excellent either as a sandwich or salad. Easy going, laid back feeling but coupled with attentive service puts this place over the top.
Quaint and intimate cafe with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Growler fills, small but killer beer collection in back. The chicken salad croissant is a lovely play on an old favorite. Simply delicious.
Has become a favorite on Daniel Island. My niece and I like grilled cheese and tomato soup BUT dont think it is not special!
The sweet potato fries are amazing and you cant go wrong with any lunch sandwich selection.
Synopsis: This is the second time Ive been, and it was just as good as the first. I will continue to come back, recommend to others, and as well bring family when in town. The Food:Ordered warm sandwich Chipotle Pork Tenderloin, with side Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was amazing and I would absolutely order it again. It came with a dipping cup of mojo dressing, which added to the pork amazingly. Because I like spicy food, I was hoping for this to be a little spicy, but it was not. Thats okay though. The flavor was good and even my wife would be able to tolerate it.The fries were a bit too crunchy for fries and had that slightly hollowed out consistency you get when fries are fried a little too long. Im not saying that a certain fast food place with golden arches make better fries - Im only saying that we shouldnt expect similar fries to be delivered from this establishment. The View:We went during lunch on a nice day, so we decided to sit out on the back patio. There were nine tables of four seats with umbrellas and plenty of shade from the trees overhead. It was a very pleasant experience for a lunch time excursion. If I must pick anything to not like (being objective here, and not overly upset about this), it would only be that the planter that lined the inside patio was full of weeds. I appreciate that someone took the time to add a fountain and decorate it with garden-y things, however the weeds drew too much attention from the view for me.
The food was good and the service was outstanding...
Laura Alberts lunch is always spot on. Ive never had a bad thing in 4 years here. Also great wine pairing to go with awesome menu.
The food was outstanding. Service was good.
Very cute place wonderfullunch both times ive been there. Always take a doggie bag home with me.
Excellent food. Good service.
Disappointing. Im learning you cant always go by the average star rating, you got to check out some of the negatives. Ordered lunch special, shrimp Primavera, and it was missing spinach as indicated on the menu and, only had a couple tiny pieces of cherry tomatoes skins (menu said it had tomatoes) The server offered to fix it but I declined because then my guest and I would be eating separately. It tasted good tho. My guest also ordered a pasta dish and side salad. We both thought bread should have came with it. At least thats what were used to, bread with pasta. We were waiting for the server to return and check on us after the main entree food delivery so we could ask for bread. Finally after about 15 minutes, I waved her down and she came over and we ordered bread. Ended up having to pay$1.50 for bread and and no discount offered for the missing spinach dish. Then we both wanted coffee and the server and bartender (who would have to make another pot) both acted like we were putting them out. The chocolate pecan pie with creme anglais was OK but nothing to write home about. So not worth the $50+ spent for lunch.
The food and service where great. The pricing was fair. Would definitely recommend this place.
Rude, impatient, not customer friendly, food and but lucky for them there are few options here
Most pleasant stop for wine and appetizers after our drive from Charlotte. Delightful environment.
Food was delicious, service was really good.
Excellent food and excellent service. Nice day and was able to sit outside and enjoy the food.
Amazing people. Amazing food. Amazing wine and beer selection. Just amazing place.
DISGUSTED by this place. Visiting from out of town and came here for lunch. The couple we came with is allergic to onions and therefore ordered his food with no onions. Well, the wrap came with onions. We didnt want to make a big deal so we said its fine but the waiter said oh you didnt tell me that. Yes he did. She didnt say they would make him another one. The good came out and I ordered a salad. I was eating the salad and noticed there was a bug in the goat cheese with a leg on the plate. I told the lady and she goes oh that must have just flown in there. Then proceeded to accuse me and say wow it pretty much survived the whole salad, encinuating that I ate the whole salad just to now notice itt. The bug was logged in the blue cheese with one of its legs out. I cant believe the customer service here. Ive never been treated like this before. The food isnt that great either. FIND ANOTHER PLACE to eat.
Food is always excellent and with so many awesome choices on the menu its hard to choose.
Locally owned, delicious food and top notch service!
Very good restaurant! I highly recommend it. Great food and atmosphere.
Had dinner here and the food was delicious, with a surprisingly extensive beer menu. If not for the almost comically small entree portions, this would be an easy 5 stars.
Wonderful food and great service. It was a perfect place to catch up with friends and not feel rushed. I highly recommend.
They did a great job catering our business Christmas party.
Delicious salads and soups. Great for a business or personal lunch. Highly recommended. You wont be disappointed.
The best blackened seasoning you could ever taste.
Great food every time, great service, cant fault it
Food Great..but owner has decided to impose 4 percent credit card fee...unheard of...nickel and dime move...there is a lot of good food elsewhere...C. Wilcox
Excellent service. I had the Soup and salad. High dollar taste for median cost.
Food is decent at best. And the owner is a not so nice lady. She seems angry at the customers and doesn’t really care what they want. Sh was very rude tomy wife and kid. We will never go back
Great BBQ sandwich with bleu cheese cole slaw. Great staff with the exception of staff did not know what trout they serve for a special. Overall great food, atmosphere and people.
Great service, excellent food. Hidden gem on Daniel island.
Excellent food and service
