We had went there when it was Eyecare Specialties of Charleston. We really like it. But since it changed to Carolina Eyecare, I called to setup an appointment and the person that I was speaking to was rude and while I was explaining that I would need another time or go somewhere else, she hung-up on me. I just cant support that.

Dr. Elliott is a great doctor and is both knowledgeable and personable. He has a genuine interest in his patients and takes time to explain issues and to answer any questions. Dr. Elliotts staff is very friendly and was helpful with the purchase of my eyeglasses. Every appointment at Eye Care Specialties has been a pleasant experience.

Dr. Elliott is the BEST! Not only does he provide an extremely thorough examination, but he educates you through the entire process. His great personality is just a bonus!! He truly cares about your eye health and lifestyle and takes everything into consideration when making his recommendations for eyeglasses and/or contact lenses.The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and they are thorough in their jobs as well. Insurance benefits are verified before you see the doctor and coverage is clearly explained.I have found my forever Ophthalmologist!

I have been a patient of Dr. Croffead and Dr. Elliott since I was a teenager (and now into my 30s). They are the best in the Charleston area! Dr. Elliott always takes the time to explain everything and he shows a genuine interest in his patients. The staff is helpful and friendly as well.

I have called them 3 times and have been unable to get a return call and hung up on last time. Company stole $300 and claim no responsibility.No, Odessa never responded. I had to call 4 times over the course of 2 weeks to get someones attention. Last conversation I had was that you would be calling me within 24 hours, as you have not I have placed my review. You purchased the business but assume no responsibility for it? The $300 credit on my account was stolen.

I’ve been a patient here for a few years and brought my 2 year old daughter in last year for her first visit. Dr. Smith was absolutely amazing with her. He made her feel so comfortable and gave her stuffed puppy an eye exam first so she’d know what to expect. We came back this year for both of our annual check ups and he was just as caring and wonderful. He seemed like he could have stayed and chatted with her all day. He is one of those people who genuinely enjoys children and it warmed my heart today to see her so happy at a doctor appointment! Can’t recommend this practice enough!

Wonderful office. Such a beautiful setting and the staff were great. I saw Dr Elliott and he was so polite and informative! Allison (I believe that was his assistant or nurse?) was an absolute doll and they made my first eye appointment comfortable and helpful!

They saw my granddaughter for her first eye exam and she loved it. They made her feel so comfortable and excited. She is 6 years old and was not her usual shy self, she said that it was fun.

The location downtown was amazing! Each person took their time to explain everything from the eye exam to insurance coverage. Dr. Elliot was so nice and thorough. Would definitely recommend this location!

I really enjoyed my office visit yesterday...I am from Florida and since moving here my experiences with the doctors and dermatologist have been terrible so I now go back home for those services...but...when my eyes started having problems and I knew I must have an eye infection of some sort I decided to give Charleston on more try before taking off from work and heading back to Jacksonville...I am glad I did because this was a great experience. The office is beautiful the staff is very professional and Dr. Smith was prompt and had me in and out within 10 min. Cannot wait til my follow-up and eye exam...I will be coming here and anyone reading this should too.

Dr. Smith and his staff were very helpful and informative. Even gave me info about when to bring my baby in for a eye exam next year which I didn’t know I was suppose to do. Great practice!!!

Best Eye Exam I have had in ten years! Dr Elliott and staff preformed multiple new computer enhanced exams along with the refraction.Dr Elliott went over results and was extremely through how my eyes have progressed since last exam. Well recommended..you get what you pay for!

From the moment I entered the office I was greeted by staff who were polite and welcoming. The service was prompt and organized. Staff were knowledgeable and professional. Id give them a 10 star rating if I could!

From Doctor to staff, everyone if friendly, welcoming and helpful. Dr. Croffead has a great manner, especially with children.

Be Cautious..They billed my insurance for a visit/frames that I didnt order or request. When I called, was put on hold for 5 mins, before I hung and called back. When I did call back, a lady there pulled up my account and stated she would have to call me back. I called my insurance, and they did in fact bill them for services/products that I didnt request. Most of the staff I had to deal with was rude and unpleasant to work with, the Dr, was great, but will not be going back, due to this issue and other issues from my first visit. I tried to give them a chance to make things right with me, they seems they didnt care. Moving on.

From the front desk to the doctors, they are always professional, know me by name and go out of their way to help me with my eye problems. Very knowledgeable staff and haven’t experienced long wait times. I would highly recommend them!

The Tech along with Dr. Elliot were very friendly and used technology I had not seen with other doctors. They explained everything in a way that is easy for a patient to understand. Highly recommended.

My wife is a patient here, so she recommended them to me when I needed an exam. Terrific staff, and Dr. Elliott is fantastic! They also got me in on short notice, which I really appreciated. Highly recommended!

I came in for a contact lens exam and was charged for both a regular eye exam and contact exam. When I questioned the extra $89, I was told that both were required. I explained Ive never been told that before and she admitted it was just a requirement of their practice. In addition, what submitted to insurance does not match what I was charged. I liked the doctor but I definitely wont be back.

The facility and staff are very nice, however they will charge you a lot more than most when it comes to lens fittings and not tell you about it until they call you a week later and say that you owe more money. I already wear contacts and just needed them to update my subscription. I understand a $50 dollar charge for that, but $150??? Save your money and spend it on the contacts.

I truly love going here. Dr. Smith takes his time and explains everything to me. All the staff are pleasant and make you feel welcomed.

I enjoy this office so much. They always make you feel comfortable. The wait is never long. The entire staff is friendly, personable and knowledgeable. The first time I went here, I found it online and made a last minute appointment. They were happy to fit me in and Dr. Elliot was so nice that Ive stuck with him ever since. Their prices for contacts are comparable to cheaper online stores so normally I just order from them and pick them up when Im in the area ( a lot of times they have my contacts in stock ). They considered my work environment when selecting a contact type for me and when I needed to pick out glasses the lady was so friendly and helpful and never lost patience frame after frame until we discovered the perfect ones. The appointments are quick but they never make you feel rushed like they are just trying to get to the next patient like some places do. They are always willing to help and will laugh with you when you bring in your glasses covered in puppy tooth marks. They also repaired a nose peice for me when I dropped by one day to check and see what could be done about it. I constantly recommend them to friends and family. Truely the best eye doctor Ive ever been to.

Dr. Croffead has been my eye doctor for over 40 years. He is a caring and excellent doctor! He is the reason I go to Eyecare Specialties.

If you have a real eye problem I wouldnt waste your time. Dr. Maroon is a very nice guy, but Ive been coming here over 6 months now and My eyes still have the same symptoms. Ive had to switch doctors because they keep telling me the same thing month after month with no solutions. Very disappointed.

I have received eye care from the doctors at Eye Care Specialities for most of my life. Spanning 35 years, the doctors and staff of this practice have been completely and consistently knowledgeable, skilled, professional and genuinely caring. They have my highest recommendation.

They did a great job with my 7 and 9 year old. Made everything not scary or intimidating.

They didnt have the eye photos from previous appointment so couldnt compare changes in my retinopathy.

I have always gotten great service there

I had a through eye exam. Yet when I received my glasses they were less than expected. The measurements were incorrect so the handle was too short. I went back and was told that I had to pick different glasses. So disappointed.

Dr. Elliott is a concerned and friendly doctor who cares about his patients.

Staff was not very helpful over the phone when asking about insurance. I was hung up on twice. Tried emailing off of their website to schedule an appointment, and it has been several days with no response. Poor customer service.
