Tim at Midtown Imports provides honest, quick and straightforward service. On our visit he diagnosed our issue for 1/3 of the cost what the dealer would have charged and determined the problem was one of the parts covered under a 10-year warranty. He could have fixed it and not told us, but instead he called and recommended we save several hundred dollars by getting the dealer to fix with no charge. This is what makes loyal customers. One of the perks of owning a Volvo and living in Charlotte is having Midtown Imports. My last Volvo was totaled and part of the reason I bought another one was because of this place. I wish I could give them more than five stars. They saved me 30% on my most recent repair. Several years ago they told me I could go another 10,000 miles on my brake pads when another place was telling me they needed to be changed immediately. As long as I own a Volvo I will be taking it to them.

Before getting rid of my Volvo they always took care of everything. They knew exactly what to do and I trusted them more than the dealership. Family owned and sometimes you’ll get to see some furry friends roaming around. Great people who do an awesome job to make sure you’re taken well care of.

It is an older model, and has needed some updates. Tim has always done a great job in describing what needs to be done and the exact price. He stands behind his work 100%. Tim, Joe and Harry are the only mechanics I trust with my cars and they are an absolute pleasure to deal with. My family has owned 6 different Volvos and I personally have owned an s40 and s80 that I will only take to Midtown. Tim gives it to you straight and is very flexible and fair with his pricing. If you live anywhere within 50 miles of Charlotte and you dont take your car to Midtown Id recommend getting your head checked. I really cant say enough good things about these guys.

Tim is my go to guy for my Volvo repair needs. Ive known him for years and cannot recommend him high enough.

My father owned my Volvo v70 before he gifted it to me a few years ago. He lives in Asheville and has a great mechanic there, but I live in Charlotte full time and its not realistic for me to visit every time I need my car serviced. Ive been going to corporate shops like Firestone but I often avoid getting serviced because its clear none of them train their employees how to work Volvos-not to mention theyre outrageously overpriced and impersonal. My AC compressor has been broken for over a year because Firestone wanted $700 to replace it.My car finally had a coolant leak I could no longer ignore and I was quoted $1300 in parts and labor for a new radiator. Yikes.I found midtown imports through the recommendation of a friend, and was quoted $670 for a radiator. My car has been long overdue for a servicing for a while now because Im constantly frustrated with the shops I go to. I feel taken advantage of and ripped off by these shops.The folks at midtown have been great. Its very clear that they know what theyre doing when it comes to Volvos. They called me frequently throughout the process to keep me in the loop.After replacing my radiator, changing my oil, fixing my ac compressor, replacing my serpentine belt, and replacing my coolant bottle, they charged me $1200. Firestone and Goodyear wanted $2000 for the radiator and ac alone.Im incredibly satisfied with the level of expertise and professionalism at this shop. If much rather support a local business than a corporate shop anyway. I will absolutely be doing business with them in the future.

Terrible service, payed $100 to fix my power steering, couple days later it leaked again took it back for another $100 just to have the same problem a couple days later. Then Tim At the shop tells me he can’t fix it. Terrible Terrible Terrible.
