Collin helped me labor at home until I was ready to go to the hospital and then strongly advocated for me at the hospital to ensure that my birth plan was followed exactly. My husband and I are so happy that we hired Heidi and Collin for my first pregnancy, and plan to hire them again for any subsequent pregnancies. I cannot recommend Heidi enough. She is attentive and thorough throughout pregnancy, and especially in the few weeks leading up to birth. With my first child, our doula focused heavily on when NOT to call her, but Heidi reinforces constantly that she is on call for you 24/7 and to not hesitate to text or call her. In labor, her hands were a literal lifeline during contractions. The best thing, though, was the way that she empowered my husband to be an extremely active birth partner. She was calm, professional, and discreet as she helped the birth to really be focused on me and my husband. That is such a gift, especially in a hospital setting. I highly recommend including Heidi in your pregnancy and delivery journey. First time mom here and my husband and I agreed we wanted someone in the hospital with us who knew what they were doing ;).I thought we would get coaching/practical support during the delivery experience, but I was surprised at the level of emotional support and encouragement Heidi offers as well throughout pregnancy and after. I approached birth from a very practical perspective- labor begins, things hurt, baby comes out, the end. Heidi really worked with us to help us understand what we wanted in our birth plan and how the birth process involves the birth of a mom too.I went into labor almost three weeks early while my husband was on a business trip. Heidi, Collin, and their backup doula Sabrina coordinated checking on me and bringing me to the hospital when it was clear that my labor was progressing rapidly. Since my husband couldnt be there, Heidi facetimed him, helped him stay calm, and was my rock throughout an intense labor and delivery. I dont know how I would have gotten through it without her!

To the dads: I had no idea what to expect out of our first pregnancy, and it felt (wrongly) like I was supposed to be some kind of expert labor coach by the end of it and I was NOT confident in that.My wife and I found Heidi (and her Doula partner Collin) and knew pretty much immediately it was the right fit for us. Heidi was my doula for the birth of my first child last week. Being a first time mom I was extremely anxious about pregnancy and getting prepared for labor so I was looking for a support system for both myself and my husband. From the moment we hired her she has always been a text or call away for all of my random (and often late night) questions - she has meaningful connections in the community that contribute to the care of pregnant women as well. Her birth planning process was super thorough and she made sure all of our providers had a copy and understood our wishes. When I went into labor, she met us at the hospital and coached me through a long triage process where my labor escalated quickly and I had to wait for an epidural. She kept me grounded and centered the entire time and advocated for me to make sure I was made comfortable as quickly as possible. One of our wishes for my delivery was for my husband to catch our son and be hands on with the process. My OB had told me previously he didnt allow that in his deliveries but Heidi talked him into allowing it for us. We got some of the best pictures and memories out of that moment. Ill forever be thankful to her for being such a solid support system to us when I otherwise wouldve felt really lost and unsure of myself. If youre even thinking of hiring her, just do it. You wont regret it.

There arent words to adequately rave about Heidi and the privilege of having her as our doula. Our daughter, Eloise, was born on May 14th, and Heidi has been with us every step of the way since we hired her. She was available by text, call, or video chat to answer any and all of my anxiety ridden pregnancy questions throughout the months before our daughter arrived. Once we got closer to Eloises birth, Heidi made sure I was informed and prepared whether we ended up going into labor spontaneously, by induction, or a birth that ended up in a c-section. She came to the hospital the moment I needed her and stayed at our side. Heidi put my husband at ease and helped me through each contraction. No labor proceeds perfectly according to plan, and mine certainly did not. However, I felt empowered, informed, and supported through each decision I made. I had an incredible birth experience that wouldnt have been possible without Heidi. Both her immense knowledge and comforting presence are invaluable.

Heidi was an amazing doula that gave everything to make sure you were going to have the birth you wanted. The prenatal meetings were educational and helped reassure you, you were in good hands. Her experience with births is apparent from the moment you meet her and its very reassuring in a time of uncertainty for first time parents. She makes an effort to ensure dads are as involved as they want to be and encourages them to take a bigger role in the birth of their child. When the time came, she was right there with us through the whole birth fighting for our birth plan and doing everything in her power to encourage, motivate, and empower the mother to have the birth they want. All natural, medicated, or whatever else you want shell make it happen and youll know you were in good hands. Postpartum, Heidi has been supportive and informative, and reaching out to make sure everything at home is going smoothly. We had a great experience with her and highly recommend her services.

Let me start off by saying this is a review is by a new dad. When my pregnant wife first told me she was looking at hiring a doula I was a little skeptical. I thought what would they do that the doctors and all the appointments cant. Well let me tell you before meeting Heidi and Collin I thought we had some what of an idea of a plan and what to expect, I Was Wrong! After meeting with Heidi and Collin for the first time via zoom, I was convinced we needed someone else to walk us through this whole new world. They went over things you never think of and help make a plan and a plan B and C and help you prep and go over just all the little things nobody tells you. They were always a phone call away. The night after my wife was having contractions Heidi was over the next morning and as soon as we checked in to the hospital till after our son was born she was helping, assisting, coaching, supporting in every way. She even has a plan and ways to keep an expecting dad calm when things start to go down. If your on the fence about a doula. I could not recommend them more. Yes guys that are money conscious, Spend the Money!! You wont regret it!

Heidi and Collin were there for me every step of the way. During labor if Heidi wasn’t there I would have been laboring alone with so many questions (nurses were not around much). Questions about epidural hot spots, shakes, etc. Heidi kept me calm and my husband calm. After all was said and done, my husband asked how much we paid, immediately said he would have paid 3X that price and that Heidi was absolutely worth it.

Heidi and I worked together from the time I was 12 weeks pregnant, and she provided so much support and knowledge from the moment she became my doula and all the way through my birth and beyond. We still keep in touch five months postpartum, and she still checks on me and provides so much encouragement, as well as resources to help navigate parenthood. She went above and beyond in preparing me for the birth experience and was there for all of the critical moments of my 47 hour labor. I struggle with anxiety and truly could not have done it without her. She was my advocate and my voice of reason. She talked me through everything and put my mind at ease. I can’t say enough about Heidi’s experience and expertise. She also made things “fun”. We had many laughs together along the way. I highly recommend Heidi!

INCREDIBLE!! Do not skip out on this amazing Doula & team! I was not only supported, but was well-informed, advocated for, & LOVED ON! They are the WHOLE package for one beautiful experience. I had an early baby boy & i don’t know that i could have or would have had as wonderful of an experience as I did. It was of course still very difficult, however I don’t think it could have been any better with the circumstances being what they were. Heidi is an angel.

Heidi was an absolute angel during my pregnancy, labor, and delivery! I truly could not have done it without her. She poured her heart and soul into making my birth everything I wanted it to be. I had hoped for a natural, medication free birth and that’s what I had. My husband was very, very sick with cancer and he unfortunately passed away just a few weeks before I gave birth...the unimaginable. I didn’t know how I was going to move forward, much less give birth without him. She was my advocate and my rock. She knew exactly what I needed and was there for me from beginning to end- not just the birth. I truly am indebted to her for life for the gift she gave me and all that she did for me.

Where do I even begin? Heidi is a Godsend, an angel, long lost friend. I could go on! Heidi was our doula for our first born. Heidi served as my backup Doula and although we were able to birth with our primary, Collin at Doula Differently, Heidi was still wonderful and supportive. When I had a freak out moment and knew that Collin was busy at a birth I called Heidi and she was incredibly helpful and spent a ton of time with me and my husband. She continued to check in and send support even though we weren’t even technically working with her. It meant the world. She and Collin make you feel like part of something bigger when you work with them.

I knew Heidi was the right doula for me from the first phone call we had. She supported me through a planned c-section, and just having her there as an advocate made me feel like the whole process was going to go well. And it did! Heidi is INCREDIBLE! Never had a doula before, finally decided I wanted to my last birth to be different. I wanted a redemption birth from my first two that ended up in a cesarean and also traumatic Vbac. I wanted a natural birth, bo epidural. I yearned for that experience that I had seen so many women have. Well, Heidi was the reason I was able to get through the hardest part of (active and transition labor phases). She came in and eased the pressure, she coached me along and she took care of whatever needed to be done. She was incredible and I would rehire her in a heartbeat if I had another. She is THE BEST. Even my birth photographer (who goes to many births) said she was the best she had ever seen work. Finally, she works hard to connect you to other mamas who are on the same phase/season so that you can have your built-in mommy group! Isn’t that awesome! Bonus!! Hire her, you won’t regret it. After a diligent search involving a plethora of amazing doulas, my husband and I selected Heidi—it was the perfect decision. As her clients, we had immediate access to her expertise through text and cell as well as a monthly meet up with other expecting parents and various experts. As a new expecting mom, there were a lot of questions about the whole “having a doula, why I needed one, will insurance cover it, etc.”, so I was late to finding a doula. Luckily, Heidi came highly recommended by a close friend of mine. Heidi was my doula for both of my pregnancies and births. I recently gave birth to twins (12/6/20) and I cant begin to express my gratitude for what she did for me and my family that day. I had some unexpected complications after giving birth and Heidi was still supporting me with advice to help advocate for myself in the hospital.Words cannot describe what it’s like to have Heidi at your birth because she is truly a magical person. The best thing I’ve ever done for myself, my husband, and my baby was to hire her. Heidi shifts into the exact person you need at every moment while laboring and that is truly an amazing gift. I know every birthing person deserves this kind of love and support and I’m so so glad I chose Heidi to be my doula.

Heidi - the only regret I have is not hiring Heidi earlier in my pregnancy. I hired her about 2/3 of the way through and think hiring her with the positive pregnancy test would have been 100%! As a doula she is not only there for the birthing part but she is there for it all! She is a superwoman that is insanely encouraging and motivating but above all - she is here to fight for you. I had a few interesting comments made throughout my pregnancy regarding weight/needing extra ultrasounds and all kind of craziness and Heidi was there to educate me and be in my corner ready for fight for me and what is right. I am so THANKFUL that I reached out to and hired Heidi as my doula. As a second time mom I somewhat knew what I was getting into. If you are thinking of hiring Heidi, DO IT. Heidi was my doula this July. Being my first birth, and with covid restrictions in place, I was very nervous. Heidi was not allowed with me in the hospital (covid), so she labored with me at home instead. When it came time, I texted Heidi in the middle of the night. She arrived at our house and my husband and I felt so relieved, and were confident that we could successfully labor at home. I cannot put into words how much we trusted Heidi and how helpful she was from the moment we hired her, all the way through delivery. Throughout my pregnancy she was available for as much or as little support as we needed. We could text her any time and with any questions. She has a way of being completely professional, but also making you feel comfortable enough to talk to her as you would a close friend. She has the knowledge and experience to assist in all of types of labor and handle any unexpected situations that may arise. Heidi was very accommodating to our wishes and helped us create an ideal birth plan. With Heidis help, my labor and delivery was everything I could have dreamed of.

Heidi is AMAZING! I hired her for the birth of my second child and I so wish I would have known her for my first! She made sure everything was perfect! She arrived at the hospital before me to check me in, she comforted me through every contraction with different techniques, she created a beautiful relaxing atmosphere with lights, diffuser, music, etc. She worked great with my husband making sure to include him, she took photos and even wrote a personalized birth story! I hired Heidi as my doula during my first pregnancy with my daughter. Being pregnant for the first time, I felt very nervous about the inevitable labor and delivery experience. I knew that I wanted a natural birth, but completely doubted my ability to handle the pain. Meeting with Heidi throughout my pregnancy brought me so much peace and gave me the confidence that I could have a natural, drug-free birth if that is what I wanted. Unfortunately, my mom was not able to attend the birth. Looking back, I think it was even more important to have Heidi there to act as that woman, motherly, caregiver that I needed. Another truly special thing is that Heidi took notes during the entire birth process and wrote a letter to our daughter telling her all about her birth. I cherish that letter! I hope to have more children and would love it if Heidi is a part of all of their birth stories.

Heidi was wonderful! She met with me twice before the birth to get to know my husband and me. Heidi was immensely helpful during labor, encouraging and coaching me along the way. She used techniques that helped to reduce the pain and encourage the progression of natural labor, such massaging and squatting with a rebozo. Heidi is a great doula! I highly recommend her for her knowledge, upbeat personality, connections with the local community and incredible support during my pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Even though she was out of town for my actual labor, her back ups, Sarah and Collin, were equally incredible for the support that they provided. Collin attended my birth and we hadnt met prior, but she was great! Her and my husband became my power team of support through 24 hours of labor on pitocin with only some nitrous oxide for pain relief. While pregnant, Heidi had a couple get togethers, so I met some of Heidis other clients. Its so nice to know other ladies giving birth around the same time. Heidis prenatal appointments were really helpful in preparing me for labor, especially the visualization piece. All in all, it was a great experience.

See, after I hired her I was diagnosed with a condition that meant that I was almost 100% going to have a C-section. So all my dreams of having that all-natural (or not) birth experience went out the window. But that did not mean that my time working with Heidi was over. She was a wealth of knowledge and even helped me connect with a few people (with their permission of course) who had my same condition and I could ask more prevalent questions to. She was awesome throughout pregnanct, connecting me with the best chiropractor ever, and just helping me in so many ways. Heidi is a wonderful doula! From the moment we met her, we knew she would help us with our daughters birth. She answered so many questions for us during my pregnancy (and I had a lot as a first time mom). Heidi provided support and relief during my labor, and also really advocated for us with the hospital in terms of allowing my labor to proceed at its own pace. Hiring Heidi as our doula was one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made. I always desired a natural childbirth as my own mom had done and loved my own birth story. However, when I got pregnant with my first child, I was nervous and doubted my ability. I was also concerned my husband would have a hard time offering support during labor as he does not do well in situations where blood and bodily fluids are involved. Heidi was recommended to me by a friend and we first spoke when I was around 30 weeks pregnant. She immediately put me at ease and I knew after talking to her for 5 minutes I wanted her to be part of my childs birth story. While the nurses at the hospital were wonderful, I knew and trusted Heidi. The cool lavender cloth she had for me while in labor was a lifesaver. I could go on and on about Heidi and I tell everyone about her because she was the one who made my birthing experience the greatest moment of my life. She literally talked me through each and every contraction (I had 36 hours of labor) and I honestly have no idea how I would have made it through without her. I interviewed three doulas during my pregnancy. One thing I felt separated Heidi from the others was a more funny/personable/outgoing spirit. Thats what I wanted by my side in the fits of labor. She was always communicative, timely, warm and beyond helpful. My daughters birth was definitely not normal - the result of an unexpected 40 hour labor was a 10.5lb baby! But through every step, she explained what part of the process we were in and helped decipher hospital-speak from the doctors. Side note: I used Heidi as my doula BEFORE she had a family of her own. Her knowledge and interest of the birthing process was already top notch - now as a mother of two boys and having experienced childbirth herself, I guarantee her services as a doula have gained even more merit.
