Holy Joes has a good selection of halal meat. The grocery shop is stocked with Indian and middle eastern essential spices, Tea, and snack selection is fantastic. The fresh vegetables are decent.

I bought whole chicken (with skin and fat, etc) but was charged for cut & cleaned chicken. So, dont trust the cashier; check the invoice.

Every time the same thing happens again and again and again! So he puts the weight equals to 6 lb, when the weight is actually is 5.28 lb. Not only that but he puts two bones of legs which weight to over 1 lb. these bones have no meat at all!! They just don’t stop cheating customers. This is gonna be my last time to buy for sure

I was asked earlier to provide phone number because I was about to pay with Credit Card then I was asked for my name.The dude on the register clearly was aware he was BS ing me making excuse for his request.Lots of BS and at the end I walked out with my purchase with CC and did not provide name/phone number.Asking for customer info is optional and this place should stop BS ing ppl.If you have doubt about if I am authorized to use the credit card, you are more than welcome to check if the card is signed to verify with the signature on the pad during purchase OR if the card is not signed ask for ID.People are falling for this BS, and the dude was typing in the computer the phone number I provided. This should be ilegal and it is disrespectful to customer too. If you are verifying if I am authorized to use that card, you should not be typing my info in a computer.What this place is doing is collecting customer information and then sell it in dark web. Free info collected and sold im dark web to make these people targetted by spam, phish and other sh***.This must stop and the owner should stop replying to this review with another BS.You better make your bussiness better than replying to this review.

Quality meats and great variety of spices

They did not understand my order for ribeye sliced as thinly as possible for hotpot. Got a regular 1in thick ribeye steak. The same request for lamb was at least sliced, but at 1/4in thick, was much thicker than what I was expecting. The quality of the meat is decent, but price to quality for steak is worse than Costco.I was pretty excited about discovering a local butcher shop expecting Ill be able to do custom orders. But besides some hard to get stuff like goat, Ill probably stick to Costco.

Love their tacos! Theyre kind of small and a bit pricey for the size (3.45) But they taste great! Their fries are also super good!! The space is tiny and theres limited seating. But it is cozy.

Giving 4 star for the quality and service. I would appreciate if the time for cutting would be made less. Every time I do a phone order, average time told by representatives is 45 min to 1 hr. Other factor is opening time, store timing says opens at 10am on Saturday and i did wait for 10 min this morning and store wasn’t open yet. Going to other halal store now.

I have always liked holy joes but not this time. This is 2nd time in a row that the goat meat wasn’t good. It had a bad smell which is not normal. I am very disappointed .

The best Halal Market in Charlotte! Ive ordered meat from pretty much every Halal grocer in the city and Holy Joes has the freshest meat, a very clean and welcoming shopping experience, and the absolute best customer service. This is one of the few places around where the owner makes an effort to know his customers names and families. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the meat that Ive received, and if you call ahead you wont have to wait for your order. I dont mind paying a higher price for the quality that you receive at Holy Joes!

The guy who took order has no or zero experience in taking order showing all his tiresomeness of the day to me on the phone and when I went there to pick it up, No formal greeting nothing. When I said I ordered by phone and was there to pick it up he was like talking nothing and brought the order to billing counter and just said the price. After I paid with credit card, He asked my phone number to feed in, While asking phone number anyone who is doing business on the earth will ask you starting with Can I have your phone number, This guy was like give me your phone number. Im not getting your meat for free dude. You might have to get some basic skills to get this business going. Very very very poor customer service. I will definitely stop going to this business and I would pass my experience with all of my colleagues, friends and family.

Good, Fresh and with a Smile. I have been shopping here for quite some time. They always have what I need. The store is very clean and orderly. You should call ahead for meat orders because they are usually super busy on the weekends. Most importantly they have great service. They are friendly and everyone is quite helpful. No blank stares and awkwardness like other foriegn markets.

These guys are great and the proprietor is such a friendly guy. The meat is outstanding, the lamb and chicken Ive gotten there has been better than any meat Ive found in Charlotte and Ive been to Whole Foods, various Halal butchers and high end grocery stores. Be sure to call ahead and let them know what you want since they cut it fresh and it takes about 30-45 minutes. They have a lot in the way of groceries and spices and they do carry a large number of the essentials but in honesty, go there for the meat.

Have been coming to this meat/grocery shop and restaurant since it has been opened. I have to say that it is the cleanest, nicest, best quality, and best service of the Charlotte area. I will not go anywhere else for any of my needs for halal meat or south asian groceries. The food at Nawab Kabobs (which is the restaurant that is conjoined) is also phenomenal. The food has a little long of a wait, but very well worth it! You will not regret coming to this great family owned place.

I ordered 4 pounds of goat meat and they mixed lamb in it, almost half of it. Now, when I cook I am getting really bad taste. I am never going to buy here again at any cost.

Minimum purchase for card transaction at this store is $5, which meansif you ordered a 2 LB chicken over phone, for which they havent confirmed the price over phone and after waiting 1 hour and drove 20 minutes to pickup, they wouldnt give it to you even if the cost is marked at $4.99. You have to buy something more than what you wanted to use card for payment. This happened to me and so frustrating because I waited for 1 hour after ordering over phone and drove 20 minutes to return without service. On that day they asked me to buy some vegetables and they were in bad condition. I could have taken more meat to bring the price above $5 but for that I have to wait another 30 minutes.

It’s been couple of times we were disappointed with this place.. last week we ordered 3 lbs of goat meat and and went there to pick up. We weighed it there it was only 2.2 lb then we asked the guy over the reception with cap, he was so arrogant and said out of 3 lb 0.8 lb is fat, we felt very fad and left the place.again yesterday night I have whole chicken they said 1 hour to get it ready over the phone. I went there after 1 hr the guy said it was busy and will another 15 mins. It went over 50 mins and the guy casually looked at us. Still the meat didn’t got ready. We said we are canceling the order, the guy on the reception was careless and very rude, he didn’t even apologize. I don’t want to encourage this place further yesterday was my last visit!!!

Arshad, the owner is one of the friendliest guys I have seen. He is very helpful which is not so much I can say about some of the other larger store chains. I have visited this place several times now and I have no complaints on the service or the products being sold there!

The meat has fat even when it was clearly mentioned to clean all the fat the worst part meat has hairs. The size of meat pieces are big when clearly told to cut small pieces.I would never visit this shop again would caution people about this shop.

If estsblishments could be closed based on rudeness, lack of social and customer service skills, Holy Joes Meats & More would have been shut down since day one. Not only are staff in dire need of learning social and customer service skills, but the Owner as well. He has a chip on his shoulder and will respond defensively and aggressively, especially if he realizes you have caught on to their deceptive tactics: weighing meat with bones and fat, even if you have asked it to be removed, but still being charged for that fat and bones; selling you a different type of meat, just to raise the price, but telling you it was what you ordered. Putting in an order on the phone is a nightmare, cashiers are answering the phone while customers wait in line, people in line are so annoyed they walk off without their receipt or change because they waited in line so long; meanwhile, the person trying to put an order on the phone is never understood. They take your order over the phone and it is always wrong when you pick it up, then the Owner proceeds by saying you ordered wrong and you must pay for it. It takes over 10 minutes to put in an order on the phone, because their lack of understanding the order, they say they understand the order; when you get there, the order is wrong or they havent done the order, even though they have said you have to wait an hour to pick it up, then you do wait, but it is not ready because the Owner said you ordered something different last time. So do I have to order the same thing everytime? Absurd! Not all butchers wear gloves at this establishment. New supposed butchers are not butchers, regular people not qualified to cut meat and do not understand order, the Owner included. Quality of the meat is not consistent, and for it to be supposedly halal meat, it is unclean and bloody. Most people visit this place for the convenience of the location. To summarize: Perfect place if you want to be cheated, get the wrong order, get inconsistent quality of meat, and be disrespected/yelled at by staff, especially by the Owner.***Update: One year later and the Owner and Staff cant get it right, because they do not care about the Customers; they care about their wallets. They need a reality check... this is America, not back home where maybe it is okay to yell at Customers. They cant even take an order over the phone, because they dont understand; then you shouldnt be in this business. Having to go multiple times on different days to the store to pick up 1 order because they keep saying its not ready is atrocious. Boycott this business and support individual businesses that care about Customers. Period!

Great place to buy Zabihah/Halal meat. They have wide selection of Beef, Chicken, Lamb, goat and Fish. I like their products because everything is fresh cut and clean. They have the best meat in town. Also they take orders over the phone so you do not have to wait in long lines.Will go again.

I have ordered for baby goat and confirmed with them whether they have baby goat before ordering it but when i went to store to pick and checked it and its not baby goat. its just goat which is leftover and its very hard to cook. this happened to me 2 times. they are cheating people

Best place to buy Halal Meat. I always got good meat to cook for Biryani and goat curry cuisines. I usually cook it for 30mins, for best result cook it in pressure cooker, unlike chicken which gets cooked quickly in any vessel.Highly recommended place :)

Chicken is overpriced. Quality of Beef with bone or without bone varies a lot. You can get only bones if you order beef with bone. But their beef stew is better than most of nearby halal shops.

Half of the products are expired and expensive. Every time I buy meat they put pieces of bone.one time I bought 5 ib of meat and there was 5 bones, so they don’t sell you a puer ib of meat.

This place is close to a few curry places in North Charlotte, so I decided to try some lamb and chicken here. My main quib is about the pricing they follow for lamb. I ordered 1.5lb of bone-in lamb stew pieces and 1 bird of chicken. After paying for the meats, I noticed the lamb-meat to be too small for the 11.53$ that I paid for it. So, I asked the lady whether its really 1.5lb. She said yes it is, and after I asked her to weigh it, it turns out to be only 0.92lb. Then she said, the meat cutter first took 1.5lb lamb-meat out, but he removed fats from it, and so it came out to be only 0.92lb. And she said, thats about it, she wont do anything more.So, essentially, if you buy lamb here, they will give you only 60% of the meat, but charge you for the whole 100%. And it turns out to be really costly; I had to pay around 12$ for less than an lb. I consider it a rip-off, so hence the single-star review.

The meat is chopped inside a closed room and you will not have a clue what you get, when I ordered lamb meat I got a bunch of bones with for a fancy price of $20, this owner impress the peopele with words and service, but they cheat the customers when it comes to meat. Beware and becareful when they politely say your meat will be ready in 30 mins.
