We just visited the store to look for a variety of lights. We booked an appointment with Sarah. Everyone at the store was SO nice and gracious - even to our young kids. 10/10 experience the whole time. Lots of great design tips and very lovely lighting.
On March 9, 2021, I paid a visit to Circa Lighting on South Blvd. Our 15-yr old foyer chandelier (which was also a Circa fixture) was in need of replacing so I called ahead to the store and reserved a time slot to go in and look around for a replacement. Given this light was for our front entry foyer, I fully expected to spend in the neighborhood of $1500-2000 for this fixture. Keep in mind I have two other Circa pendants and also lamps from Circa, so I am a long time and repeat customer. That ended today. I walked into the showroom and asked for the specs on two different chandeliers that caught my eye. The girl who was helping me told me she’d print them out for me. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I found her assisting someone else and when I stood there waiting for her to notice me, I went completely ignored. The guy she was helping looked at me like I was crazy because I was just standing there completely unacknowledged.I didn’t come into the store to be ignored and wasn’t about to waste more of my time, so I went to leave and as I walked toward the door the two women just standing at the front desk looked at me and said, “It looks like we’re not busy but we’re working.” Um, Ok. I told them I had been waiting 10 minutes for the other girl to get me the print outs I asked for and they put them in a folder, handed them to me, and snarkily told me to have a nice day. No follow up. No offer to help with alternate options. No asking me if I had questions about the sheets they had just flung at me. Tell me please what I could have done differently in order for anyone to act like they cared about my business? I haven’t seen this kind of treatment since the Rodeo Drive scene in Pretty Woman.I was so upset I was shaking as I drove away from the store I thought I was going to cry. How can anyone be expected to spend substantial money and support a local business when they’re treated like second-class citizens? Did you judge me because I came in wearing work out gear (after actually having worked out)? Did I not look enough like I had money to spend in your store? To say the treatment I experienced was unacceptable doesn’t even begin to describe it. I WAS a Circa customer for years. No more. There are too many other places in town that are actually happy to see customers walking in the door and are able to meet the basic expectation of common courtesy and plain good customer service. And guess what? I found another one after this fiasco and glad to say I’ve got a new lighting store. Good riddance.
