Visited from Raleigh. Amazing selection of new and old. Staff was nice and very helpful. I also love you can order online. I cant wait to come back and visit the store again while visiting Charlotte.
Really cool vinyl place. Lots of new and used. Has both kinds of music, metal and punk
Love this shop. I wish I was able to have gone more while I was living in Charlotte. If you like records and music, this is a must stop while in the area.
They have an amazing selection of new and old vinyl. The staff are also very helpful.
Best record store in Charlotte. Weve been going for more than 5 years and they have yet to disappoint. Great selection and prices, can always find something worth listening to here.
We went to Lunchbox on Record Store Day and really enjoyed our experience! They have a great record selection—vintage to new releases—and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back soon!
I ordered 1 Immortal tape from Lunchbox Records and 1 Graveworm tape from Tapehead City. Ive been listening to the tape I ordered from Lunchbox for 2 days while the tape I ordered from Tapehead is still in NY.
Really cool place !! everyone who worked there were super nice and helpful !! helped my find alot of good things and cant wait to come back !!
Huge selection of great music! Im a huge TOOL fan and they had pretty much every album I needed. Will be returning for more!
Excellent indie retail store with a very large range of records and CDs, etc. at reasonable prices! I found a lot of vintage items and some super rare things in their selection. The location of this store is excellent and the online shop is just as great. If you are a fan of music or a collector of things, I recommend Lunchbox Records to you!
This place has a crazy amount of good records. Such a good selection, and its neat that theyre organized by genre
Very good selection of albums, CDs and stereo equipment. Along with t-shirts, stickers and misc.
Freebies outside the door. Musical treasures inside the store!
Hands down the best record shop in Charlotte, super friendly and helpful staff and the best selection.
Very cool record store. I havent been one since the 80s-90. Will definitely be going back again.
Best selection of music in the city. Store is clean, well organized, and strives to keep customers safe and happy in these trying times. Always recommend this store to friends and they always have a great experience. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable.
My son loves record stores, this one was priced a bit higher on everything.
Been in here several times and they have an awesome selection. I personally enjoy my classic rock vintage over remastered and they have great deals on those as well.
Love this store. They have a wide variety of records to choose from. Staff is nice as well
Freaking amazing record shop! I love this place!
I havent been in since last year- but I tried to go in yesterday and there was a line. Not having much time I didnt end up going in- but I will likely be back sometime after new years. This is a nice little shop, the only reason I am not giving 4 stars is the owner was not as friendly as I would have liked. I am a casual collector so I am not super into records or vinyl- I just pick up albums I like to listen to on a turn table without interruptions occasionally. I felt like the owner thought less of me because of my beginner appearance (I would assume), he was still helpful and helped me to find what I was looking for- not much for conversation but quick and adequate service.
Great record shop. First time visiting. Bought 2 records brand new that were cheaper than corporate online retailers. They had a lot to choose from. Loved seeing artists I love in a shop. It is a challenge for me.
Found some fun stuff there. Staff was funny about it too. Definitely going to visit again when in Charlotte
Imagine you are in a desert, completely alone. You have wandered for many days and many nights only to find nothing but the emptiness of sand dunes. You are about to give up hope but then you remember your favorite song. You imagine it playing. The melody of happiness consumes you and before you know it, the desert is gone and you’re in the best vinyl shop ever conceived. An oasis of awesome, if you will. That’s what it feels like when you wait 30 minutes in line and then walk into this place. Best store ever. Also, they have Russell Brand working in there just because they can. Total power move.In all seriousness. This place is awesome. Stop by, you won’t regret it.
Some of the best selection around! One of our fave places to stop when in Charlotte.
Great selection. Friendly staff and very helpful. Also the have free tickets for things going on around town
I don’t have to, they have the album I want. And have been looking for. Also great guys, good attitude
Lovely shop. great selection of music.
Owner is the most pretentious dude in the world. He is inconvenienced when you give his store money and keep it in business. The energy is just so off in this place it drains you to be in there.
Lots of records, good prices
Seriously the only place to go in Charlotte when you want to get vinyl records. Always with the best selection and you could spend hours just skimming through the stacks
You can purchase new and used vinyl at very reasonable prices. They have an incredible selection of punk, hardcore, and hip hop. They are currently practicing social distancing, so only five customers are allowed in at a time so expect a wait before you can browse. The staff are incredible as well, if you have an album youre looking for in particular you can call ahead so you can avoid the line is it is out of stock. This place is one of the highlights of Charlotte that Ive found in my time here. If you listen to vinyl albums this store is a must visit.
Amazing selection and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Drove an hour and a half to come here and ended up with two records Ive been trying to track down and a couple tee shirts. Love it. Cant wait to come back soon.
So many great products are at Lunchbox and I love seeing their posts and what new things they get in on their Instagram page. Super cute shop, easy to navigate, and lots of things to look at!
Scott has always been fair when dealing with me. I’ve sold him a few collections over the years and he’s always out paid the competition. The same with used equipment, very fair. The store has expanded and changed over the years but remains the best in Charlotte. Large selection of new records and you might get lucky on a used gem as well. Worth the visit!
So thankful for one of the long lost record stores it still carry new vinals for every listening taste the woman at the front desk Courtney was very pleasant and very knowledgeable and found what I needed very fast I strongly recommend you getting back in the vinals and if you do this is the place to go and amazing shop and from what I am told they can get anything you want pretty quickly a cool blast from the past just to go in a record store
Great selection of records and unusual finds. Found some great music from the 80s and some deep stuff too.
I LOVED THIS STORE!!!!! such awesome deals and indie records. I had to escort myself out after I bought a few records so I wouldn’t by the whole store. Absolutely will be coming back!!
Large assortment of records and really good prices within reasonable range.
I had great day today!! Spent 2.5 hrs in the store and walked out with 16 records for my collection... ABSOLUTELY WILL BE BACK!!!
Awesome place to pick up new and used records and equipment. Friendly and helpful staff.
Great selection of old and new records, even some cool collectors items never seen anywhere else. Only 5 people allowed in at a time due to covid, so had to wait a few minutes outside but very much worth the wait.
Awesome record store with an amazing selection! Well worth the 1 1/2hr drive to check it out.
There is no way a store of that size can only hold 5 customers at a time that is ridiculous!!!
This place is a gem! Ill be taking a trip back to Charlotte soon for more records.
This is the place for all of your music needs. The staff was amazing. I called looking for a CD by Kem and not only did they have it but, they had another one of his projects. They took the time to not only check their records to see if they had the CD, but even retrieved it and placed it up front so that my wait time would be minimal.
My favorite record shop on the East Coast
The records are great in selection, not in price. Every time I went in, i feel like the people were hostile and rude. Never going again. Gave them like 7 tries too. I really wanted to like this place
I saw a wider range of turntables this time. More high end direct drive turntables and even an amp or two. The variety of categories has increased steadily over the years to a point that most are stocked now. Still, lunch box is a punk rock, heavy metal record shop at heart.
Huge selection of many different genres. A good half of the store is new vinyl so pricing sucks but I know that’s not their fault. A bit of advice though: The bins are so packed full I couldn’t thumb through the records. That frustrates people. Get more bins!!
When I couldnt find the record I was looking for the cashier searched the inventory and let me know when the next album was coming out and when they may have more
Nice staff, and great collection! The addition of the online ordering been great as well considering how fast they ship orders.Highly recommended
Good. But 5 people at a time due to covid. Be prepared to wait
The outside of the building is so beautiful and when step inside it is like music heaven. I enjoyed looking through the selections, but in some cases the crates were too packed to get out the albums and i was afraid I might break something, so I stopped trying to look. Sadly, the person checking me out wasnt very personable. I think he asked if I found everything ok or something, i couldnt hear him properly and that was it. The card was ran, I signed and he walked away. No more was spoken. I got what I wanted in my selections, so I was happy!
Great selection of records, CDs and tapes. Got lots of cool music related merch also! Welcoming atmosphere, just an all around chill place to shop at. Really the best record store Ive been to in Charlotte. Great job!!!! 😍✌😃
Great selection of records! Maybe too much, the bins are jammed full. Its with the effort though. They also take the time to well categorize, unlike others. If you are into collecting records or are looking for one - go there. You wont be disappointed.
I moved out to CO a couple of years ago and am still missing this place. Ive been to quite a few record stores across the country and am disappointed that this spot never ends up on a top ten list of greatest record stores in the USA. It truly is a hidden gem, although who knows how long that will be before people figure it out. Scott, Brett, Lee and whoever else may or may not be there were always such die-hard music enthusiasts (I believe all of them are musicians as well), which made the selection in the store second to none. Scott even went as far as shipping out a bootleg Nirvana LP recorded at the Milestone out here which Im sure sold fast. I could go on and on about this place but do yourself a favor and check it out as often as possible. The early bird gets the worm -- or if youre lucky these guys will sometimes hold a record for you if you inquire.
It was cool. I always love music stores with retro stuff. It takes me back to memory lane.
I came in not really knowing what to expect as i have kind of a niche music taste. i was totally blown away. they had a massive selection of the kind of stuff i like! prices were super fair. i can’t wait to go back
Would appreciate a heads up when you change your hours. Missed a serious RSD drop because of the hours change.
Literally my favorite record shop in the country. They always have a great selection of both new hot records and old wacky finds. The staff are super helpful, and they respond quickly on social media!Even if you’re not local, they’ll sell and ship you anything you need.Good people good products, best vinyl shop in Charlotte.
Great selection of reasonably priced vinyl. The new arrivals bin is a favorite stop every time in town.
Love this record store. They have some treasures in the used section (including bootleg albums) and a beautiful wall of the best new music. Cool place to browse!
Always a great experience here. Great selection and nice staff
What a cool store!! A retro vibe and great selection of new and used music. Whatever your type of music, theyve got you covered.
Love them, great service, if the dont have what you want theyll call you when it comes in
Great place to buy vinyl, which should never be plural. Cmon hipsters, get your act together.
Not many record stores left in the wild, show this place some love and spend time perusing their selection. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask and odds are the staff has it’s location memorized.
Awesome place. Its not the biggest but its got all of the vinyl and vinyl accessories you could need. They even have a record player set up to sample and used vinyls you might be thinking of buying. It also had a nice selection of CDs and cassettes.
Excellent record shop! Great selection, tons and tons of vinyl. One of the best selections of jazz in the whole state, easily.Only gripe is that the bins are overstuffed making it difficult to browse. But if thats the gripe, thats a pretty good problem to have.
Nice record store with a good amount of records and record players for sale.
Lunchbox Records is an exceptional place to find new or used vinyl. They have a really nice selection of both, with the greatest selection in the pop/rock category. I was able to find a couple of really hard-to-find titles on my first visit, which was a very pleasant surprise! The staff members were very willing to help find titles if desired, but looking through their inventory was half the fun!
Great record store with very friendly people who are willing to help with your musical selection! A must stop for any music enthusiasts!
I am in town visiting and headed over to check it out. This place is awsome. I loved the selection they have new and used. If your thinking about going then just do it!
What an amazing record store. Fantastic selection of new and used items. I ended up buying 50 used LPs ! Next time in Charlotte this will be the first place I stop.
Great place for new vinyls. Some used vinyls/CDs/cassettes. Staff is great and helpful. Overall super chill.
Really cool record store worth stopping at if youre in Charlotte. Great selection and friendly staff.
The staff was awesome! Very welcoming as I was from another state visiting relatives.
Always great! Love coming in here, even if my bank account doesnt. People that work here are super knowledgeable and are always able to suggest something
Great record store. They keep up to the new releases. And keep a huge cashe of vintage vinyl. Helpful staff. Clean . good parking.
Good people. Good wax. Lunchbox Records.
This is a great local record shop. They have a wide selection of LPs and CDs along with some good turntables and accessories. 10/10 would recommend to anyone interested in vinyl
Cool record store with a great selection of vinyls with good music that sets the right atmosphere! Definitely going here a lot now that I’ve found it.
Great local record store with a good variety of music and music formats. They also have a good selection of patches and some of the collectable toys.
Great record shop, staff is usually pretty cool. Prices are as good as they can get for a brick and mortar store. I love the diverse selection you find here! You will find a bunch of albums that are obscure and difficult to find without shopping online. If you are a crackhead trying to make money selling your tape collection, go somewhere else.
Ive recently gotten back into hard copies of music and had almost forgotten the feeling of tearing open an album. Best selection of vinyl around! My fiancé and I took a ride over there recently and if Id had the funds, Id probably buy half the inventory. It is definitely my go to for good music now.
It’s got a great selection. Hard to go through but that makes it fun in my opinion. Customer service is kinda awful. I’ve been going since I was in highschool and recognize most people who work there as I figured they would recognize me. They never really make it a point to say hello when you enter nor do they ask to see if you’re looking for anything. Feels very pretentious sometimes because of that ESPECIALLY when there aren’t many people in the store. For as many records as it has, those who work there seem like they couldn’t care less about working there and it shows from how they interact with their customers. All in all I always go back to grab something because I can usually find it, but this place is nowhere near as memorable if it had better customer service.
Has a lot of brand new vinyl reissues, as well as used records. Also carries CDs, cassettes and 45s. Participates in Record Store Days, with exclusive limited edition vinyl. Carries jazz, indie, classic rock, rap, new wave and metal. Even has new and used turntables! Great place for vinyl records.
