Hands down the best automotive service. I called on Friday and talked to Thomas. He told me if I could get in by 5pm he will take care of my oil change and check my transmission fluid . I was in and out in 1 hour. Thomas was very helpful, his customer service is 100. Thomas has gotten me to leave Jiffy Lube and become a Meineke customer for life. If this guy is not a manager he should be . He deserves his own franchise with a raise!!!! Thank you Thomas for your superior customer service and going above and beyond for your customers!

Appointment for 9:00, was in the bay by 9:15ish and on the road by 9:30. Cost was comparable to dealership, although Meineke was a smidge cheaper and I use fully synthetic so they don’t really get much cheaper. Polite and on-time and I didn’t get a laundry list of things I needed done to my car. I would 100% go back to them for my oil changes and also look to them for my car maintenance needs. Very satisfied.

The Meineke shop was a phenomenal experience. we all have our doubts when bringing our vehicle to a shop, but my experience was 5 star from start to finish ive had work done on two different vehicles and both were done promptly and with 100% satisfactionI will continue to bring all my vehicle related issues to this shop! This review is a reflection on the Meineke company versus the physical location we visited in Charlottesville. The guys there were great. But, we went online to Meineke.com and made two appointments for our cars. There were only appointments available on weekdays so my husband and I had to take off work. Well, it turns out that when we arrived at Meineke we were told “we don’t accept appointments — we have to tell people that all the time — we have no access to whatever website you used,” to which I replied, “it’s your company’s website!” But, that didn’t matter. If I receive multiple auto reminder emails and texts from Meineke about our appointments, I don’t think it was stupid for us to assume that those appointments were the real deal. How on earth is it possible that a Meineke location doesn’t have access to the appointment schedules from the company?I’m only leaving this so others don’t make the same mistake we did. We thought we had appointments which would result in lower wait times, but we had to wait about an hour and a half anyway.That being said, the mechanics were efficient and fair and performed everything we requested well. This review is not a reflection on them, but management and corporate.

Went in for a walk inspection (Get there early as it is first come first serve and expect to drop off your vehicle for the day) they called me about my SRS light and I had them do diag for 110 a hour. Luckily the light went out and they only had to charge me for a half hour plus inspection. They also installed the side mirror for free! Good place to go And on short notice also

Told me it would be Monday before inspection completed. In several hours it was completed. Men were helpful and even had a sense of humour! There were at least 15 people who needed service. The servicemen calmly dealt with each of them.

One of the best experiences I’ve had with an automotive shop! Tommy at the desk was very friendly and professional. They were able to fit me in immediately for an inspection + new front brake pads and rotors and it was all done within a few hours! All the other shops I called in Charlottesville were either too booked up or wanted to keep my car overnight. Thank you Meineke!

I came in for an oil change for my Ford Explorer around 2pm. They were pretty busy, but I opted to wait around in the lobby. By 3:30pm my car was finished and good to go, which was super quick due to the volume of vehicles they were working on. Very professional and polite staff. Excellent value as well! I will continue to bring my vehicle here for oil changes.

Love meineke, as a woman I am super anxious about getting my car serviced, in the past I’ve left places with a $2k estimate, only to go somewhere else and find out that those things were not necessary.I never have to feel that way about meineke, once I said that I believed I needed brakes, and to go ahead and do it if I needed, they called to say I had a few more months out of them, and could come back then. They are always kind, helpful, quick, and informative. I will never take my car anywhere else.

Great service! Fast, despite being very busy. Needed state inspection and tail light repair. Came highly recommended by my normal auto shop who does not do inspections. Will recommend to others and have already. The parking lot is pretty tight, requires some automobile ballet on pickup, but they were quick to accommodate.

These guys helped me out on two occasions where other companies couldn’t get me in. I needed an oil change last minute and they were available on a Saturday afternoon and did a great job. A couple weeks later (also on a Saturday afternoon) I had an issue with my battery and they were able to swap it out for me.

Busy but it appeared as if they do good work and are fairly priced from their interactions with customers. My personal experience was not amazing. I got there when they opened and they told me it would take 2 hours for a state inspection, which was fine because they were clearly very busy. I patiently waited for about 2 hours before asking how much longer. Ultimately, it was 3 hours before I was out of there.

Excellent service! Pulled my class A motorhome in and they replaced my muffler right in the parking lot. I was done and on my way in less than an hour. Very friendly mechanics and Rich was awesome!

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of service I received from Meineke and the lack of transparency about what I would be paying for. I had been to this Meineke before and had positive experiences, so my last experience was a surprise. I came in with a check hybrid system light and was told by the man at the counter that he would take a look for me. I was not told that taking a look meant a $110 charge or that he could not go into the transmission to actually fix the issue. I came back to pick up the car and was told that there was a part that needed to be replaced inside the transmission but that they could not go into the transmission. They charged me $110 for the diagnostic (which I was told took an hour) and said they couldnt do anything else for me and told me to go to the Toyota dealership. If they knew they couldnt fix issues in the transmission with Toyotas then they should have referred me to the dealership in the first place! I went to the Toyota dealership and then I was told that the issue was actually a freely observable wire issue (mice had chewed through the wires). They said the issue was easy to spot and did not require going into the transmission, so the diagnostic that Meineke charged me for was not even correct. I called Meineke after going to the Toyota dealership and explained the issue, thinking they would work with me to arrange some sort of credit or refund and got nowhere. The lack of transparency here was extremely disappointing. I feel like I was hustled and will not be going back.*Update* I received a response from the owner telling me to contact customer service but have already done so and no one has helped me resolve this.

They did a great job. This was my first time going to them I drop my vehicle off with them that morning. A few hours after they call my vehicle was done. My vehicle drives ready good thank!! I will be back.

The employees are always polite and a pleasure to work with, and I trust them to take care of my car. They have always been upfront with me about what my car needs, and use language I can understand if I need a problem diagnosed. I will highly recommend Meineke to anyone looking for quality service and a trusted shop for their car.

I had a great first experience with Meineke. After realizing I needed the car serviced ASAP, Meineke was the only shop in the area that allowed me to come in without an appointment. I arrived at opening time (there was already a line at 7:30am so be aware of that) and dropped the car off. Within two hours I received a call from Rob, who was very professional, updating me on the status of the car and sharing the work they planned to do with my permission. They also shared the exact cost up front (I appreciated the transparency). Within two more hours everything was fixed and I was on my way. Will come again!

I got my muffler fixed at Meineke and I was so happy with their service. When I called they were so nice and gave me a precise rage for how long the service would take and cost. The service was done in the time promised and the price was right. These guys are great!

As luck would have it, we were in the middle of a chaotic relocation and a slow leaking tire on my Mercedes GLC became a fast leak. Adding to the challenges, our newly-licensed daughter was scheduled to make her first long drive (5 hours round trip) so we were in a pinch. The guys here were kind and considerate; got the problem diagnosed in minutes; we’re able to plug the hole; and out the door we went in RECORD TIME. Literally, it was about 25 minutes! We were all shocked…and pleased because this shop is within a mile of our new home! We will definitely use them in the future!

You can completely trust these guys. Never go to the dealer to be ripped off. They do a great job every time and a fair price and they don’t mKe up things that don’t need to be fixed. Been going there for 5 years with several cars

They did extra repairs I didn’t ask for and didn’t tell me they were doing them until they were already done. Also didn’t warn me that the oil change I was getting would be synthetic rather than basic before doing it.

I will not take our car to any other place in charlottesville. every time i have ever called or came to this location- they are always very kind, helpful and professional. they call when your car is ready, they are clear with their diagnostics and pricing and they always ask before they fix/repair. thank you meineke for always being awesome.

My Kia Souls catalytic converter needed replacement and Meineke completed the job in half a day at a price far lower than anticipated. Honest, efficient, friendly service. Took my car in to get inspected and the overall experience was okay. I passed as I expected, but there were some things that annoyed me. For example, I never received a call or any notification that my car was ready, which is important because it was going to take at least a day and I use my car to drive half an hour to work. I had to call them to find out it was ready. Then when I went and paid for the inspection, the guy mistakingly said it was $40, which I know it’s 20, so I just let it go and the charge was 20. Told me my keys were in the car, I looked around and they were in the ignition... another car place I got to more frequently will leave the keys under the floor mat. The ignition makes me uncomfortable.

Tommy was amazing with service and he went above and beyond to help me get back on the road with my ac fixed..honest people here everyone.

I drove there right after I realized I had a tire puncture. They assessed it, ordered a new tire, and installed it within 2-3 hours on a Saturday for under $120. Great work.

I had the muffler and pipes replaced on a 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. This is the fourth muffler job that Meineke did for me on different vehicles. No issues, good work, reasonably priced, and courteous staff. I will go to this shop in the future. I highly recommend Meineke in Charlottesville.

I always go to Meineke when I need some work done on my car. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I would recommend Meineke to anybody who needs something as simple as an oil change to getting new rotors.

So they are fast. No appointments just first come first serve. They did my VA vehicle inspection- and there were all manner of small problematic issues oh and the brakes - they had all the parts and had me going in 90 minutes. And they provided the state with all to be inspection info so it was one stop shipping. The reason gor 4 rather than 5 stars is they are regular retail price and I could have saved $100 bucks shopping for cheaper services. Recommended

I came in for an oil change and that’s all. These guys made the effort to let me know i needed two air filters changed, told me why and how much and even saved me $22. My car is running better and the A/c is like new. I always get taken care of.

Had my vehicle 2days to say thwy could handle some broken bolts and retap. If its simple do it yourself or take it to them. Got 2stars for the guy up front who was nice.

I take my cars to these guys to do inspections. They are reasonable and kind, and they are right on the money with their estimate of when your car will be done. I will keep going to these guys and wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to any of my friends.UPDATE: My catalytic converter from my Prius got stolen a week or two ago and I tried to put a new one in there myself and it just didnt work. I took it to Meineke and they made it work perfect in less than an hour (20 minutes, actually, from the time I arrived) and the price was eminently reasonable. I wish I could rate them every time I go there because its always five stars, always.

Rob helped me in a bind with a bumper, and fit me in within a couple hours! This allowed me to get home safely the next day. Absolutely wonderful people and service, and they reattached our bumper so well that it’s rock solid now! Thank you Rob, and everyone else!

Coolant hose had broken and smoke/steam was coming out from under my hood, so i pulled into the nearest auto mechanic parking lot. One of the guys quickly came out to help me, diagnosed the issue, and had it fixed by the next day. Also, I highly recommend them for state inspections, as they were able to do that in addition to the repairs. Great customer service, very friendly, and good mechanics.

Go here only if you want to pay for services that will NOT be performed. We used to take both our vehicles here, but we have since taken our Jeep to two other mechanics who confirmed that the services we took it to Meineke for were VERY clearly never actually done, leaving our Jeep with oil WELL past its change-by date as well as brake fluid that has literally started to turn green because I was not flushed. Extremely disappointed in the waste of money but even more infuriated at the negligence that could have caused serious damage to our vehicle and even injury to one of us. I will never go to another Meineke again, and if I find myself in a place where it’s the only option, I will have my car towed to another shop.

Went there to get a starter put on they told me that the starter I had was defective but when I took it back to the store they tested it and there was nothing wrong with it and meineke charge me double the labor for a mistake that they made meineke had hooked the wire to the wrong side of the starter. I take all my vehicles to them but this time I was very disappointed with there service.

Quick, reasonable, friendly, what more could you ask for?

My husband and I were told that our transmission went in our truck. We called schulls towing in cville. The tow truck driver lifted the truck automatically knew it was NOT our transmission. He was very set on getting the truck towed to Meineke he said they will NOT over charge and would take care of our issues. Towed our vehicle in Tuesday evening after 6pm our truck was ready 1st thing Thursday morning. Mike the guy at the front stayed in contact with me stuck to his word and I was able to have the truck back in time for work and school for my kids. After all the fuss we ended up needing the cable replaced that helps with the shifting. He assured they checked our transmission and it is perfect no issues. Mike never tried to upsell to me nor tried to make me feel like I didnt know about vehicles. Most men try to get over on women when it come to auto care. I truly appreciate the Meineke team for their efforts to making sure I left there happy and drove away safely! Go there you will NOT be disappointed

I brought my van in for an inspection. The service was great there was no hassle only a simple battery tie down repair needed that I knew about. No pushy bs repairs like a lot of other places try to do. Only honest work and great prices . I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone in need of vehicle service.

Although it was extremely busy that day, they got me in and out in a relatively timely manor.

I went there with tire issues. They did not do anything, and said the tire were fine, its just due to the cold weather. After returning back, the tire pressure was still loosing, and 8-10 psi per day. It definitely not the weather, and it happened to one tire only. They kept me waiting for three hours, and I do not mind that since I didnot have the appointment. But surely they did not take care of my problem. They also additionally charged me with some air car conditioner which i did not requested. Later, I went to another mechanics and they said the only issue was that the tire was not sealed properly. They resealed the tire and my problem went away. It costed only 22 bucks. And these guys took out 135 bucks (they did change my oil and air filter which I agreed to on spot but they did not solve my tire issue) and left me with my problem. Terrible place, never going back.

Mike and his team are amazing. I had engine failure 200 miles from home and randomly was towed in to their shop while stranded. (Thanks AAA!) To my surprise, I couldnt have asked for a nicer service team to work with. They got me in the same day knowing it was an emergency, gave me honest diagnostics, helped me find a solution, and remained flexible when it came to the logistics of living in another city and dealing with engine block failure....I cant recommend these guys enough.

My car failed the state inspection and I brought it into another local garage. They wanted to charge me several hundreds of dollars for nit picky things. Menike did the same inspection for and got me out the door for $78. They are reliable, knowledgeable and fast.
