Update: I tried their new Korean bowls under the name Danbap. The prices are pretty steep ($8.75 for pork, $9.50 for beef, $8.75 for combo), but the food itself is pretty good. I got the combo (mix of 2 meats, half and half). They put a generous helping of meat on the top which I appreciate. It’s pretty much meat and rice. The rice is more on the side of sticky rice, and they only give a little bit of lettuce. But it’s topped with green onions, sesame seeds, etc. The pork has some spice, but it’s not overwhelming or too spicy (I even got their spicy sauce on the side which I recommend, it’s both spicy and sweet). I’d recommend trying it if you haven’t already.-—-—-—-This place hits and never misses. Ever.I always get their milk tea boba with almond milk. Their regular milk tea is also really, really good. What I love about this place is that all the options are non-dairy, so you don’t have to worry about substitutes.The end product is always creamy, smooth, sweet, and refreshing. You can also adjust your level of sweetness (I always get 30% sweet and it still tastes plenty sweet). I definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a pick-me-up or a treat!

This was my first visit to this store and I liked the ambience. They have several board games! The milk tea was nice but I have had better. Overall a nice place to hangout with friends.

Live this place !! Clean, quick, and friendly. There are fun board games, card games, and different things to sit and chill and hang out. The teas are amazing, and you can have as much boba as you want !!! You wont be disappointed!

I love this place!! Amazing flavor for a good price. It was my first time at Kung Fu Tea, but I cant wait to go back. I got a winter melon green milk tea with bubbles, it was delicious and incredibly flavorful.Edit: I loved the tea so much that I went back a couple days later to try another flavor. Again, delicious! Very sweet without losing the flavor of the tea. Im no longer in the area, or I would go all the time.

Ive enjoyed several of the drinks here, especially the stuff with pineapple, lichee and guava, a very nice selection of flavors and styles.

Worst Korean food ever I have had. Vegan bibimbap was not even close to anything you call Korean. I wouldnt go back again.

Just wondering if anyone on here notice their taxes are about 11.11%? Isnt that illegal to raise taxes by offsetting income onto taxes?My total was $5.84 tax is 59 cents. 0.59 divided by 5.25 is approximately 11.11%. Im not a Virginian but I have noticed this location doing this. I wouldnt be mad if the total comes out the same had their real prices increased. However, i dont think food tax is supposed to be 11%.Their drinks selection has also reduced due to Covid but overall the taste is the same as any other KT in America. Sometimes you might get old boba at the end of the day but I guess thats expected.Look at my Thai Tea below and judge for yourself.

I can’t say anything negative here whatsoever!!!! I love love love this place!!!! Can’t get enough!!! For anybody who doesn’t know what bubble teas are, those are teas some of which can come hot or cold or even frozen, with milk or without and added with tapioca bubbles which are little chewy and absolutely delish!!!

Easy walk from UVA hospital. The kids that work here are always nice. Ginger milk is my favorite drink!

Kung Fu Tea has good boba tea and ect but the manager or whoever that one girl is- is very rude I got a coconut milk tea from there one day ect but anyways later on a group of girls walked in and she said “Oh my god” how rude in my opinion plus if a lot of people come in like that they need to Have more workers and low the prices...

Parking is a mess especially when trying to back out. The staff could be friendlier and I was surprised they charge extra for the boba’s!?! No other tea shop I’ve been to does that. The tea is good though, especially the honey milk black tea and mango strawberry drink.

I didn’t have a problem with them at first, however, since their staff change, my online order have been 20-30 minutes late. Now I wouldn’t complain usually, but I see people walk in and get their order before me. It’s also quite frustrating when the staff won’t even acknowledge you and wonder why we have been standing there waiting.

Im only beginning to delve into the world of bubble tea, but this is the first place that I tried the decadent new age form of art conveniently packaged in a consumable cup. I have had some better since, but their milk and honey combinations still stand strong in my mind as a reliable, taste bud exciting, summer treat.

SCAM. Overpriced and they suggest GRATUITY before you continue with credit/debit card purchase. So, you feel guilty if you dont leave a tip as they wait until you enter and who would not leave a tip while a clerk is watching. Big joke. The drinks are available elsewhere at a far cheaper cost.

The girls in the shop were very nice (the only reason I have 2 stars). I got the Taro milk tea, it was beige and tasted like Graham crackers. I’ve gotten taro from multiple boba spots, It’s never tasted or looked like that (usually purple). Didn’t enjoy.

Bubble tea isnt as popular as it should be and kung foo tea is one of the best! The menu of drinks is extensive and they allow a good deal of customization (no ice, less sugar, bubbles, jelly, etc) - something some chains cant do because they use premixed drinks and powder. The app includes loyalty rewards and now order ahead. Try it!

This is a wonderful Kung Fu Tea! Having visited a few in New York, this one is better for a few reasons. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is more relaxed, and there is much more space. There is a TV and games, and it feels very inviting. A great place to relax with friends or study!

This was my first experience with bubble tea and i must say it was exceptional. The drinks were delicious and the tapioca bubbles were added a unique spin to the cold tea. There are many other options of asian delicacies here and the prices are accesible. If you are into new things, then absolutely gotta visit this place. Highly recommend it

Always love Kung Fu Tea. I usually go to the one in Harrisonburg so this one selling food was a really pleasant surprise. The dumplings are cheap but they are pretty small. It was good for us because we dont eat much but theyre definitely not Chinese restaurant dumpling size. Just FYI.We had the shrimp and mushroom and pork and they are great.

Internet is constantly down. I ask if they can fix it and they just don’t. Coming here to study always seems like a good idea. And then we just have to leave. Don’t come here to study.Came back and it worked. Came back a week later and now multiple sites are blocked it seems. Most for no reason I can find. Including multiple sites for academics.So reiterate, dont come here.

Nice spot to hang out with friends, you can play board games while enjoying your bubble tea. There are very few food items available in this location. This place has parking spots in front of the store and offers free WiFi. The only con is that you cannot adjust your drink’s sugar levels.

We frequent (or used to) this place is so inconsistent in the product they deliver. I asked for 30% sweetener in both mine and my wifes drinks and one was NON-sweet and the other is crazy sweet. ITS THE SAME DRINK.another occasion i went with my daughter and niece and ordered 2 blended drinks and one over ice. we get our number for pickup, lets say its 30... we go to wait and we are waiting 20 minutes .they call 31, 32, 33, i ask the person behind the counter what about #30 and they say they are still making the last drink and they want to have them all come out at the same time for our order, meanwhile i can see 2 of our drinks just sitting on the counter and one of them melting! then they call #34 and i go back to the counter and tell the guy to give us the 2 drinks that are ready since they are melting and ask why they can make 2-3 other peoples drinks before they make ONE of ours!!they also make you pay cash or venmo for food in order to avoid taxes! which is illegal!!!!i LOVED this place the first time i went but ever since the quality and service has been declining

I’m a huge fan of bubble tea, but I’ve been consistently disappointed with the service I’ve received here, I’ve had them forget the bubbles in the tea, give me the wrong size, give me the wrong type of tea, or completely forget to make my order. No one apologized for the mistakes that were made and someone seemed irritated when I informed them they had forgotten my tea. I love bubble tea so much and this is the only place in Charlottesville that has good bubble tea, but I just wish the workers were more attentive...

Me and my family went there this morning and I got the Oreo slushy and it was terrific I can’t wait to come back there again keep up the great work!!!!

Great drinks. With the ability to customize. Parking lot is a nightmare. Customer service was strange. I was standing in line for 5 minutes with a girl behind the counter who sat on here phone instead of helping me.

Good tea flavors, really liked the taro and milk strike chai, but the boba is a bit on the sweet side and not soft enough. Also if youre not looking for a dessert-like taste, ask for half/less sugar, the drinks are very sweet by default. Egg tarts were quite good as well. Ambience is nice and there are fun board and card games to play while you drink your tea.

I love the beverages from this chain, and while visiting charlottesville, felt like visiting the city’s kung fu tea. the workers told us it was closed when it was only 7pm. on google, it says that the place closes at 9pm. i’m very confused and disappointed, but it may have to do with the holidays. i’m not sure.

I’ve been to another KFT in Philly and when compared, they both produce excellent bubble tea.The one gripe I have about this place is that they don’t offer half sugar or quarter sugar options. Sometimes it is too sweet and the Philly location allows this option.Pricing is similar and KFT is one of the best bubble tea places out there in terms of quality.Add some sugar option and this place well deserves 5 stars.

Great spot for hangout with fun board games. Parking is tough, not many spots and not many street parking available either. The staff are friendly and the bubble tea is what you’d get at any Kung Fu tea.

The manager was very nice however the lady behind the counter seem like she could barely give me the time of day. I ordered a chai latte and unfortunately it was not very good at all. I dont know if that has anything to do with her inexperience in making lattes, or their recipe is not that good. They can learn from Wegmans and Starbucks.

Always delicious, but every other time I go there I have to wait long because they are out of bubbles.Also it is overpriced for the area, the prices at Kung Fu Teas dont really vary from citys to smaller areas like cville, which hurt my wallet.

Ohhhh! Really!!! The BEST. The owner Kel Tran figured out how to do this place right! He keeps things moving and gives you choices that you really end up being happy with. Were from way out of town and we always make this a stopping point.

Tea was similar to other King Fu Tea locations with many of the same options EXCEPT (and this was a big one for me) pudding and herbal jelly. I was told that since many UVa students would not know to order pudding that it would go to waste however my argument would be that those going to get bubble tea in the first place would already be in the so to speak pudding know. I was a recent pudding afficionado myself and lets just say theres not a whole lot of convincing necessary for a white chunky guy like myself to become a pudding convert.

I was excited to try Kung Fu tea since I saw so many good things online like Instagram. I was leaving the hardywood brewery across the street and saw they were open, so I went to my hotel, dropped off some stuff then went back out to grab a tea. At first glance it looked that they had closed. I look at their sign on the window showing their business hours. Its currently July 24th, a Wednesday. Monday through Friday the sign says theyre open until 10:30 pm. It was 9:12 pm so I go to open the door. It was difficult at first and I soon figured out why. The dead bolt was locked, however the doors opened anyways since the door to the left was not locked. So both doors opened and I stopped, double checked the hours of operation sign again, see that yes they should be open. But maybe they were closing early. I was about to leave but I didnt want to leave and they think the front door was locked and there possibly be a robbery. So I walk in and stand at the counter, asking nicely if they were closed to the 2 employees in the back who were cleaning. I said it a few times because they didnt hear me. Finally a young man with purple hair came to the counter and I explained the situation and asked if they were closed. In a super sassy and rude tone, added with an eye roll they reply Well we WERE closed sooo... And starts walking away. I reply as I leave yeah, get sassy with me because your damn sign is wrong and you didnt lock the doors properly. Theyre unlocked now btw! And I left. I get places close early or that signs dont get updated and thats totally ok. Being rude to a nice customer because youre in a bad mood is not ok. Clearly upset they dont have some 6 figure job already and have to work at a tea shop. Its really upsetting that I didnt get to try Kung Fu tea and now have a bad taste in my mouth (metaphorically of course) for the business. I wont try another attempt at this location while Im here in Charlottesville.

The bubble tea is great, I will say that; however, I went in for a banh mi sandwich today and could not finish it. I have had a poorly made banh mi before but never a proper one, so I am not sure what it should be, but this one was very odd. Specifically, the meat was extremely fatty, squishy and spongy, with holes in it. Otherwise, it had a nice light flavor but the meat texture turned me off of it entirely. Following this, I googled pictures of banh mi and even the one advertised by Kung Fu Tea did not look like this... the meat was more thinly sliced or looked more like a pork chop or chicken breast. I am just confused and bothered by what this was. Still love the tea, but this was an oddity.
