Person taking orders was snarky, short, as if bothered and rushed though no one waiting, yet didn’t know the product. High prices. Cold, stark atmosphere. Am a visitor but much warmer service at other top notch locales like Oakhurst Cafe

Great coffee, medium roast and they use creamy oat milk, such a good latte and really nice atmosphere inside and they are being Covid safe/clean!

I’ve heard plenty of great things from friends, and I can see why. Great coffee and great indoor/outdoor ambiance.

Working in a coffee shop is absolutely trying and intense and requires patience and multitasking at its finest. Not only does Chris possess these skills but but I have witnessed his warm and charismatic personality charm the entire room.Us coffee drinkers are cranky and particular. He always remembers and makes me feel like someone cares. On my worst days, that really makes a difference. This establishment is lucky to have such a dedicated employee that can connect on a personal level while getting the job done!Thank you Chris

Is a cup of any kind of coffee worth waiting 30+ minutes for? In the AMs, a peak time for coffee, this place has just one person working (taking orders/payment, making coffee, chatting it up with customers). It is a painful experience.Have tried this place many a Sunday at about 9AM. The coffee is good but customer service is awful. Hire another barista! No one wants to be inside your shop, waiting 30+ minutes for coffee, pre-COVID, during COVID or, fingers crossed, post-COVID.Getting baked goods from Bowerbird (next door) and coffee from Mudhouse is a great way to start a Sunday but pastry at 9AM and coffee at 9:45AM doesnt cut it. Bowerbird does not sell coffee (yet). But I think they should start!

Latte was cold, bad, and very expensive. They also gave me a smaller size than what I asked for and payed for.

Breakfast burrito was only partially heated and dripped as I ate it. Poor-over coffee was forgotten and barista went into kitchen for ten minutes so I got it after it was basically room temperature. Coffee is very distinct, it has a fruity, African tone, not the roasty/nutty flavor I prefer. Decent atmosphere, and the barista was pleasant. I’m sure others will have a better experience but mine wasn’t impressive.

This is an awesome place! Not only the coffee but staff, Chris in particular is one of the nicest people I have encountered. He said he was new but he will go a long way with his professional and courteous attitude!

Nice clean environment with friendly and helpful staff. The coffee and espresso ordered were not well executed resulting in poorly flavored coffee. If you prefer strong coffee, this isn’t the coffee shop for you.

Mudhouse is so lucky to have Chris on board! His customer service is spectacular! I for sure will be coming back and back again!

Beautiful little coffeeshop, down on the corner from UVA. Had a tasty matcha and some really good banana bread. Finished reading The Catcher in the Rye in the lovely upstairs loft. Only complaint is that the chairs were all on the hard side (then again Im a large-framed guy). Good place to stop while in Charlottesville.

Worst chai ever.. it was just a cup of hot milk.. should have stuck to Starbucks. Their egg bites are filled with water, there was a puddle of water in the container and soaked 4 napkins trying to salvage it, and it was not even warm when it was served. For the prices they charge everything should be fresh and top quality... its nowhere close. Very disappointing experience.

The mudhouse on 10th is my favorite mudhouse to go too. The coffee is amazing and so is the handsome Chris Glover! Thank you for your amazing service! :D

First visit was during covid, but just delightful! Fancy tea was yummy and ambiance with high ceilings were unexpectedly elegant yet welcoming

First time coming to Mudhouse in the 4 years I’ve been in Charlottesville and I have to say it was the best experience I have had at a coffee house on the East Coast! The baristas were fantastic, my latte came out perfect, and Chris, the manager(?), was the nicest! We had a short conversation and that short interaction was the deciding factor: I needed to make Mud House as my go coffee spot in C’ville.If you’re a Charlottesville resident or traveling abroad, this is a MUST stop! The entire place was pristine, the menu was easy to digest (not as easy as their bakery items!) and the staff were clean and friendly. I cannot recommend this place enough! Goodbye Starbucks; Hello Mudhouse!

My go-to coffee shop. Always looks immaculate, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming.

Had a large Ethiopia Worka pour over. Super fruity and had a perfect extraction. Great environment and staff. Kirkland is super knowledgeable! I am not from town, but every time I visit I have to swing by! Of the two times I have been, Jillian served me. She remembered my name the second time after not being there for a month! Loved my experience!

Good things first: Great coffee and very cozy atmosphere with all the couches.Unfortunately though the place is quite dirty. I have been there every day and the floor is full of bread crumbs and the tables sticky from previous coffees.Maybe th employees behind the bar could take a cloth and a broom when they are not serving customers when they take a break of chatting to their mates.

Small parking but the store is nicely decorated, quiet, and the coffee smells great! The app makes getting a quick cup of joe easy and fast. The the coffee is so good. Very smooth and barely any bitter notes.

I always love stopping by Mudhouse when Im in town. Definitely my favorite of the altogether excellent set of roasters in CVille. This new location is gorgeous as well!

Good coffee/great atmosphere but charged full price for an old bagel that was hard to chew. They shouldn’t advertise fresh local bagels, charge premium, and not warn the customers. Let the customer decide if they want an old bagel.

Mud house continues to disappoint. No coffee brewed at 9:15am. Space is pretty, but what’s the point if their coffee isn’t ready. Going to Snowing in Space or Grit for local coffee. No discounts for bringing reusable mugs.

Great coffee shop with lots of outlets (important for those working on laptops). Prices are a little steeper compared to other local shops, but coffee and atmosphere is great.

A surprising amount of space, great lighting and the coffee does not disappoint. Mud house is consistently the best latte in town.

The new Mudhouse space is big and bright. The staff was friendly and informative about different choices. I live in Richmond but would choose Charlottesville coffee over what Ive had in Richmond anyday.
