This place is terrible. Like a cattle call. You can tell they are trying to push as many people through the door as possible. They failed to adjust for astigmatism on my mom’s glasses and the glasses made her eyes hurt! I wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy!!! I went to Walmart of all places and they got it right the first time! Walmart! No more headaches for my mom.

Angel assisted me in choosing a pair of eye glasses. Hes soft spoken but listens well. He accompanied me outside so I was able to try on the pair of eyeglasses without a mask on. It made all the difference in seeing how they truly fit and what I look like. He made the process easy and I appreciate the suggestion of going outside.

I bought my glasses from this location and had to have them order a replacement pair with my purchased warranty. My replacement took 3 weeks to arrive. I received a phone call, my glasses were ready, I made the trip, a one way 1 hour drive. I arrived at Barracks road about 2 hours before the store closing. Savannah welcomed me at the Covid desk out front. When she brought my glasses I was asked if I had my old glasses and I replied no and that I didnt know I needed to bring them. I asked if there was anything we could do since going back to my house seemed to be a bad option and tough to make it back. I had to have glasses for a work trip early the next morning. She seemed to be inconvenienced by my responses and offered to send the glasses to their other location, open until 6. I was offered no alternative, like charging my card and refunding the charge once they received the old pair in the mail. I hope you make it back in time was what I heard as I rushed to leave. I made arrangements to meet my son halfway and got back to the my eye Dr baracks road location before 5pm. I was greeted again by the same employee, this time it was as if my being there was a real inconvenience. I presented my broken glasses, which were missing the left ear piece. The look a got went something like this, we cant take these and Im not going to give you the replacements. Before those words came out a co-worker said just take them. It got worse when she made it personal and of course I defended myself, causing quite a scene. Before things got out of hand I left without getting the glasses adjusted. The manager came outside to talk to me but there was very little he could do or say that would make me feel better about the way I was treated. I will never do business with the barracks road location of My Eye Dr. If I am asked about this location and their staff my response will not be positive.

Dr. Henderson is fantastic! Hes very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him!I wish the frame selection was a tad bigger and more diverse in styles. They tend to have whats trendy, but trendy doesnt work on everyone.

These people are wonderful. I had an accident at work and called them the next day. I was in an examination chair 90 mins later. I interacted with 4 different people there and all of them were incredibly accommodating. The doctor spent awhile with me after treatment to make sure I was ok and scheduled me on his day off for the follow up. I am blown away. Not to mention that a last minute emergency appt cost me less than $150 ( I dont have insurance). Theyve got a patient for life now!

Update: 12/22/20Got call my glasses are ready!!! 10 weeks later, get back to my office cant see a thing on my computer!!! unless I lean so far over my desk and get close to computer...also the frames are so loose and looks like the lenses are 3-D now... This has been a total waste of time and money, At this point I just want a refund and take my business elsewhere. I am SO disappointed and upset.Update: 12/10/20I was contacted by customer relations 12/08/20 and spoke with Bobby, who was very kind and apologetic, he listened to what I was saying and even offered 20% on my out of pocket expense ...He stated that I would definitely be contacted 12/9/20 by the staff there about the status of my glasses, GUESS WHAT? not a word. My whole point. So disappointing. They just dont care! if my office treated people like this I would clean house! Too many good people out there that need jobs and would be happy to have a job like that. Just saying.12/07/20I have been going to Primary Eye care for 20+ years, 1st problem was they scheduled my appointment I show up and she forgot to put in the schedule, so I reschedule no big deal...so to begin with, once I got that straight... I go for my eye exam and as always Dr. Janice was a delight, I order my glasses, that they sold everything under the sun including a 1 year warranty, that was 1st of Oct I finally got my glasses in Nov, only to get back to my office and could not see anything... I figured out they filled the wrong prescription for nearsighted when I needed the farsighted as I told her when she tried to sell me 2 pairs, I called them, they told me it would be another 2 weeks to get the correct pair in, after waiting another 3 weeks I called them... they tell me they are in....SURPRISED I go to pick up my new pair on my lunch break since its been so long and I cant see my computer and they only sent the lenses not the frames ...of course I did not have the messed up ones with me, so I returned today 12/7/20with the ones they messed up to change out lenses, NOW the lenses they ordered are too BIG and their machine is broke so they have to send them back to have them re-framed REALLY!!! now 9 weeks later and still no glasses BUT they have been paid for them, and I have now loss almost 3 months of warranty coverage ..EVER since they changed to MYEYEDR they dont seem to care about their customers, I am so disappointed in their staff who come across with their who cares attitude. I have never been treated this way in all of my years dealing with the Digirolamos. and Primary eye care,They have always been pleasant and seem concerned about their patients, Their staff on the other hand is to be desired, they all act like everyday is a bad day and we are an inconvenience to them and not just me everyone that walks in there. A smile is worth a thousand words even with mask on you can tell!!!

The receptionist at this office Alex, seemed very unhappy, harsh, and unfriendly when I went in person for my appointment. Especially upon performing the check in process for Covid. It seemed like she was an angry person in the short time I was with her. I was suspecting a bad day but upon calling the next morning to nicely explain that the new contacts they had given me had caused my eyes to be swollen, red, and uncomfortable, she made the situation difficult to get resolved and made it seem like a major inconvenience to her. While the doctors here have been pleasant, they also always try and push you too hard to purchase from them and will not make it easy if you are trying to purchase elsewhere when writing your prescription.

Dr. Henderson is excellent! He impressed me most out of the 3 optometrists I’ve seen in 21 years. The frame selection is decent. Customer service is superb.

I didn’t get to see an eye doctor, but Laura was upfront and friendly. Starting rate for a complete eye exam is $160 if you wear glasses. I couldn’t afford it; I think they are staffed by ophthalmologists hence the higher cash price.I would visit them if I had the extra money or vision insurance. Primary Eyecare is extremely clean, up-to-date, convenient, and all the staff are incredibly friendly. Our entire family (there are four of us) see the doctors of Primary Eyecare and couldnt be happier with the exceptional care we receive! This is THE place to go when you need eye care. Absolutely the best in the area!

Primary Eyecare provides excellent care in a professional and friendly manner. Detailed explanations are provided concerning tests and test results. Patients are not spoken down to, but are treated as intelligent partners in the process of maintaining eye health. I have always been very happy with my experience there!

Super friendly and efficient. The eye Dr was very thorough and explained everything she was doing. I would absolutely recommend them because of the great experience I had.

I have not seen an eye doctor in over 20 years, so needless to say I did not know what to expect. The staff at Primary Eyecare was very informative, friendly and exceptionally accommodating (I had to bring my two-year-old and they were amazing with him...even involving him by letting him carry my chart between exam areas!). I would definitely return and recommend them to others!

Reading other peoples comments, reviewers either love or somewhat dislike their treatment received at Primary Eyecare. I have been with this group for years, therefore have gotten to meet different staff and doctors each time, and always leave well satisfied. Appointments are scheduled promptly, the in-clinic processing is quick and efficient, the results are great and all my questions are answered fully. Maybe there are cheaper outfits elsewhere, but from my viewpoint the professionalism, the courtesy, the thoroughness of the eye exams, and the quality of prescribed eyeglasses are all worth the price.

Dr. Henderson provided a thorough review of my current eye health. He explained things in a relevant and clear manner. He also has knowledge of dry eye conditions, which I have, and I will be returning to receive a dry eye exam with him. He is a great asset to the practice. I look forward to his expertise in providing high quality eye care for me and my family.

The Doctors at Primary Eyecare have always been professional and friendly. On my recent Jan 2015 visit, Dr. Parker was very engaging, made sure I understood her diagnosis and going the extra mile to make sure I was comfortable with what she was telling me and making sure I was not alarmed. The optician, Jennifer, was very personable and helpful with new suggesting new frames. Although eye exams take time, the time passed quickly thanks to how well they handled my exam.

I love this office. Everyone is so caring, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Dr. Henderson was excellent. I highly recommend Primary Eyecare and Ive told my friends and family about my experience. Thanks to everyone who works there.

The easiest doctors visit I have ever experienced! The staff at Primary Eyecare is extremely attentive and helpful. The flow of the office (decor and especially staff) make for a very relaxed and soothing experience. Chris helped me try on frames while waiting for my appointment, Winston was amazing at making me feel at ease going through the preliminary eye tests, and Dr. Henderson is by far the best eye doctor I have ever come in contact with. He was extremely thorough, engaging, and really spent the time to make sure all my questions were answered. I have mild issues with dry eye/MGD and Dr. Henderson has given me more honest and open information than any other doctor/specialist I have seen. Incredible office and staff!

I was early for my appointment and was able to be seen shortly after I walked in. Staff is always friendly and physicians are prompt. There is little waiting between being seen for the initial checks and when the physician comes in. Ive seen 2 physicians and both provided excellent service. They understood my needs and answered my questions. I am very pleased with the service I get at Primary Eyecare and recommend them highly.

Gotten contacts from here SEVERAL TIMES and EVERY PAIR I HAD RIPPED OR GOT MESSED UP IN SOME WAY! Will be calling for a refund of my money I didnt spend almost $300 for something thats not gonna work! Also my eyes havent been the same since then I do not recommend this place doctors and staff are friendly but they act like they have no clue whats going on or what theyre even doing.

Primary Eye Care has a wonderful staff. Dr. Seagraves was very enthusiastic, friendly and kind. She spoke to me like a person instead of a patient. The staff was also very friendly and open to conversation. The office is delightful, clean and fresh feeling. All in all, simply a great experience!

When I visited Primary Eyecare I was in the midst of moving out of an apartment, changing locations, and getting ready to go abroad for a semester. I needed glasses very quickly, as my other ones had just broken, and they were so prompt and helpful it was amazing. Dr. Seagraves is absolutely wonderful, and when they decided that the glasses I had were beyond repair, they updated my prescription and got new ones to in the same day! Excellent staff and excellent service.

Terrible experience, my husband had an appointment today even though I had given the insurance information upfront, when the call was made to confirm the appointment no one bothered to state we no longer are participating providers with your insurance as of Feb 1. Really after driving 45 minutes to be told this. Your office is small enough to catch these kind of errors. We have made another appointment with Dr. Records office.

Primary eyecare has very courteous and professional staff. The optometrist and assistants are very thorough and personable. When the prescription sunglasses I ordered arrived several weeks late, they were willing to work with me and comp polarization on my lenses. They are a company that is very concerned with their public image which is reflected by the excellent service which they provide. I will definitely be returning there for my next checkup!

I love that my Optometrist takes the time to make sure the contacts he recommends are right for me and I am given a trial period to see how comfortable they are before having to order a yearly supply and if they are not its back to the drawing board to find what I am most comfortable with. I dont really understand the 1 star reviews. I went here because my boss recommended it. The office is clean, professional looking. Staff was very professional and took the time to explain everything thoroughly. Roxcy, one of the techs, went above and beyond and pulled some strings to order a set of lenses for me that the supplier no longer made. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone.Edit-Yet another reason I love this place. I bought my glasses last week and was told they would be ready in about 2 weeks which is about average for most places. I called them today curious if my glasses were ready yet (they quoted a few weeks so I wasnt hopeful). I mentioned I was only checking because this would be my last day working in Charlottesville so I was hoping to be able to pick them up today and not have to make a separate trip just to pick up the glasses (a 1 hour drive for me). They called me back 30 minutes later letting me know that they came in and that they specifically prepped them early for me so that I could pick them up today. Most places would have forgotten about me the second i hung up.

I just had my first eye exam at Primary Eyecare - AMAZING. I have been to eye doctors my whole life, and I have never felt so attended to - I was explained everything to, the exam was very thorough, and I was given answers and explanations to issues I have had for years.

Made an appointment on a Wednesday morning for a Friday at 11am, for an eye infection. Arrived to the appointment 15mins early, only to be informed that they (the receptionist) was told that we cancelled the appointment. I never cancelled the appointment nor did I receive a confirmation call. My husband and I waited for 50min more and no one mentioned how much longer it would take. When I asked how much longer,the receptionist stated they were waiting for a room. My husband left upset and refused to reschedule, he will never come back.

I always have such a great experience at Primary Eyecare. Not only is everyone friendly, kind and helpful but the doctors are extremely knowledgeable and extremely patient. They always take their time to explain the ins and outs of your exam and you can always contact the doctors directly should you have any questions after. I am always so pleased with how affordable their exams, glasses and contacts are and I would highly recommend Primary Eyecare to anyone! Incredible service!

I did my eye exam which is great. but i am so upset about the service that i get in front desk. my glasses is ready to pick up on july 29/2016 and till 08/16/16 no one call me and let me know it is ready to pick up. i call in a week before and left the voice SMS no one replied me. what kind of service this location is providing to the customer. they take money out in front and they dont care about the customer. i hope this will help to get their customer service better.

I have been trying to order contacts through Primary Eyecare for about a week now. This has been the most unorganized and extensive task that I have ever experienced. I have been wearing contacts for about 10 years and have had to call repeatedly to ask that my contacts be ordered. I visited the Hollymead location last week and talked to a lens technician in-person to ensure that my lens would be ordered and paid during the visit. After calling this morning and talking to another technician turns out my contacts were never ordered. I will never use Primary Eyecare again. I am glad that order customers received what looks to be superb service, but disappointed with my experience.

As always, everyone at Primary Eyecare was incredibly pleasant and helpful. The visit was great!

Primary Eyecare at Barracks Rd was the best eyecare facility Ive ever been to. Scheduling a first-time appointment online was incredibly easy and convenient, and the front desk staff were very nice and helpful with filing my insurance. I saw Dr. Seagraves and she was friendly and personable and took the time to explain things to me and answer all my questions. Picking out new glasses was also a great experience. I couldnt believe how helpful everyone was and how good they are at what they do. I hope I never have to switch eyecare providers, because I think Primary Eyecare is truly the best.

Long wait to be seen, and VERY expensive for a routine eye exam (well over $200). Ive had better service for much less money.
