I purchased an area rug at the Walden location. A former employee is a friend of mine.when I contacted him about my purchase to confirm that I choose the best rug possible. He told me that I made the right choice but to be sure to use the 10% off coupon on the website. When I made the purchase the salesperson never mentioned to me about any coupon even after asking if there were any specials. The next day I returned to the store to save my 10% and the same salesperson was working. He told me that there was nothing he could do. He stated that sincce I did not have the couponwith me at the time of purchase he could not save me any $. When I asked him why he did not mention the online coupon he said It is not My job to mention online specials. Then he proceeded to say the he wishes that my friend (a former employee) would just stay out of everything. The salesperson later the same day called me to say he spoke to the manager and that if I stopped by later they could save me the 10%. I feel that this call was prompted by an email that was sent to the corporate office. When I returned I did save my 10% without any apology or explanation.
Salesman very nice bought carpet for master bedroom..carpeting has over double in price since covid19..unbelievable how everything is going up in prices..

I have used carpet smart in the past and have generally been pleased with their service, professionalism and customer service. I’m not sure if there’s new management or something but my recent experience with them has been terrible. I went to their Walden location picked out carpet and paid a deposit as is customary. I was told someone would contact me within 10 days to set up an appointment to measure the area for installation. After 10 days with no call I reached out to follow up and was told it’s been busy and an installer would reach out to me right away. 2 more weeks passed with no communication from an installer so I called to just cancel and be refunded my $500 deposit. The gentleman I spoke to was incredibly rude he accused me of lying about not being contacted despite having no knowledge of the situation and he additionally told me he could not help me I would have to speak with the salesperson I dealt with or the installer but that he didn’t know when they’d be in or what their contract information was. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he hung up on me and when I called back he hung up again. It wasn’t until I contacted American Express to dispute the deposit charge that someone contacted me to refund my deposit and at no point did they offer an apology or anything they just asked if I had someone else install the carpet. This place clearly doesn’t care about its customers and I wouldn’t use them again or recommend them to anyone.
Top notch!...Harold is great! Very please with our purchase and how we were treated. No high presure sales, very helpful and informative. I shopped around to other places, found this place to have the best selection, best priced, and really great quality carpet in stock. Not a small sample and then order. I like to see what im getting when I buy somerhing, so this worked great for me. I was able to look and feel the different carpets before I made my decision. Harold explained the differences between a couple I was deciding on. He was very helpful but never pushy. I was able to buy my carpet and take it wih me, which is what I wanted. Though they did have delivery and installation available. I have to say that I was extremely satisfied from start to finish. I will definitely return to buy again without a doubt. They do have other flooring products in store, but I just bought carpeting.
Terrible service very disrespectful they should not even be running a business at all. They give one price then when it’s time to do work they add on more money. They are scammers one guy literally got in my mothers face. After a disagreement and threatened her. This company need to be shut down or get new employees that have some respect!

I was planning on giving them a great review after meeting a Salesperson named Russ. He was very pleasant and had a great work ethic. However, the first issue was a change in price after being told they would price match. I ended up paying more than the quote I got from another company, but since I thought the customer service was going to be much better, I agreed to accept the sale. At the time, I paid the deposit (half down) and was GIVEN an install date and time of 9:30 am. I called to confirm the night before since I operate 2 businesses and had to be sure that I scheduled MY appointments around the install. They could NOT confirm the time and said that the Installers were home for the night. I called the next morning (day of install) since no one showed up at 9:30 am and was RUDELY spoken to by the store AND owner!!! I was called a LIAR by the owner and was left with no answers as to what time they would be there. He told me that I WROTE DOWN THE TIME WRONG. I have written documentation in handwriting by them that it was to be installed at 9:30 am on the date promised. I was NEVER given a 4 hour span (as he said they did). I was very upset and was given attitude and disrespect. Not only did they NOT show up any where near 9:30 am .. They came at 1 pm in the afternoon and stayed till 3:30 pm which in turn made me have to cancel MY appointments and lose a days work. Do not believe anything you hear from this company. They only get you in the door and then THEY are the ones who do not tell the truth. The only reason Id give them ANY positive review is the Installers were excellent and would highly recommend them. They were a private company (I was told that Carpet Smart had their OWN installers, another lie) but the ones who did my install were amazing.
First time there Harold was a little pushy. Anyways got a quote for carpet installed. Ok. Called back to speak with Harold to let him know I made a mistake on the measurements for the carpet. A 50sq foot mistake I made. So you you would think the price would go down? Because before his point was we would have multiple seems. Now we would have no seems. But Harold said the price would be the same! What ? Why ? Sounds like dishonesty to me! Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else! I wish I could give negative stars!
Went to shop outdoor (& possible indoor) carpeting. Salesman that approached us seemed ok. Then conversation turned political. He aggressively jumped on that opening & started to preach & persuade us to his views. (I will not say which way he was leaning). Point being, this was not the place for a political discussion (not that it was a 2-way conversation). We left. They lost our business. We will never return.
A few years ago we purchased carpet for our stairs & upstairs hallway & we have been disappointed from day 1. We were told when the installer arrived he’d have the carpet somewhat precut ahead of time & ready to install. Well, the installer arrived at 7:30pm & had no idea that he was installing on stairs. He did install it pretty quickly, but after he left we noticed that when we whet up the stairs we could feel the nails with your toes from the strip along the back of the stair- the nails are coming thru the carpet & are too long. Not long after the carpet was installed the carpet in the hallway started to loosen up & is no longer flat / tight. When I called the store they said I’d have to contact the installer- they couldn’t help me out. Of course he never called me back. To say we’re disappointed in Carpet Smart would be an understatement. We would never recommend them. Very unprofessional & poor customer service. We now have to replace the carpet & will go to one of their competitors.
Called carpetsmart after a full upstairs install 2 years ago because the carpet is pulling up in every room and the seams are already showing. Was told there is nothing they can do. Will never recommend to anyone. Don’t waste your money
We went into carpet smart just to look at carpet and get ideas, by the time we left we had some idea of what we wanted because Harold took the time to explain the different carpets that would work for us ... we left, but then when I was home Harold took the time to come to my house with big swatches of carpet to ease my picking of color, great salesman and to go out of his way to help my confusion was excellent on his behalf, great job and to the installer Tom he did excellent work as well ... thank you guys for a great buying experience!
The salesman, Harold, directed us to a carpet he insisted would be great for our stairs. He was very nice, easy to talk to, and convincing. He spoke highly of the installer. We left with the impression that the carpet would be installed within days. Weeks passed. When the installer came to take measurements, he completely disagreed with the choice in carpet and said if we wanted it to look good we needed another kind. In this situation, you trust the guy who has installed carpet for years. So we went with his advice. Harold worked with us to pick a new carpet. Then we waited for it to be ordered. Finally, the installers came today - they were fast, efficient, had great attitudes, and did great work. The carpet looks great. They did leave a mess but I dont recall any promises to clean up after and I didnt mind. I only gave them 3 stars because while the installers were great, the sales communication and product knowledge ultimately was poor and the time we spent waiting too long.
Russ is the best. He listens to your needs and works with you so you will get the best carpet at the best price for your project. this is the second time I used them and from shop to install, they were professional and great to work with.
Im writing this review for my parents. They were very pleased with the awesome customer service & the great installation that was done by tom & bill. They were very careful with everything that they did. They also did a great job cleaning up after themselves. As their saying goes, Dont be carpet dumb be carpet smart..Thanks again! Buyer beware! I couldnt believe what a horrible experience dealing with Carpet Smart was! After they were done installing our carpet I asked if it was normal that there was a huge mess. They said only Lowes cleans up for you and it costs you extra. There were leftover chunks (not just individual fibers) of carpet everywhere. While waiting for their ride when they were done one of them was smoking in my garage connected to my house. There were five industrial size bags of garbage left in my garage that they were going to leave there. They left rolls of carpet around but also left rolls of carpet pad. They came back in to drop off my area rug, which seems a big stretched out because they had it rolled up and folded in half. He dumped it on an open can of paint and left. It truly was such an unprofessionally done job. I wouldnt want anyone else to be treated the way we were.

Listen, I get it. You’re in sales bud. So am I. There’s a difference between consultative selling and selling purely for profit. The latter is what we would have experienced had we went with the company. I understand that you may be busy, but greet me and tell me you’ll be with me as soon as you can. Don’t leave the customer your with to give me the worst salesman experience. When people ask questions, answer the question then overcome whatever objection you have for their question that leads to the solution that is a win-win for you and your customer. OH and we didn’t even get right answers. Asked about pergo and the dude literally goes “hey you should check out the rolled carpet behind the counter, now those are really nice” uhhhhhhhhh not even close. Hey consultative sales people, OR train them better. This is for sure carpet stupid
POTENTIAL BUYERS BEWARE: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! Terrible reviews on yelp!I have worked in customer service for over 10 years and I am not one to write reviews or to complain but this story needs to be heard! I am very unhappy and disgusted with the services at Carpet Smart.I purchased carpet 4 yeas ago for my living room and 2 bedrooms. Within a year of the carpet being laid the fibers of the carpet were starting to come apart. When I called to tell them (which took more tries to get in touch with someone than I would have liked) they sent an inspector to come out and take pictures. Eventually they approved to replace my carpeting.When I went in to re-select the carpeting the salesman (who sold me the carpet the first time) told me I bought a cheap carpet and tried to place the blame on me. It was obvious he didnt realize that he was the one who sold the carpet to me originally and swore to me it would last 10 years!So instead of getting the same grade carpet installed, I paid the difference to have what they referred to as the top of the line because I didnt want to be doing this again.Here we are 2 years later and the same thing is happening. The fibers are coming apart to the point where I can see tiny holes in the carpeting. I can also see the lines at the seams where two pieces of carpet were laid together. At the corners of the rooms and the door jams the carpet edges are fraying. When I called again they told me it was normal wear and tear. So how can you say this is this top of the line carpet if this carpet is worse than the first one?When I asked to speak to the manager to have a claim put through my warranty they told me no one was available. It took 3 days of phone calls to finally get a phone call back. The store manager told me that in order to submit a claim that I needed to have a bill showing I have had the carpet professionally cleaned. I never had to do that the first time around, so why now? He would not give me any explanation except that it the way it is.Why should I spend a couple hundred dollars to have my carpet professionally cleaned? For what - to find out that by having the carpet cleaned I voided my warranty and that theres nothing they can do for me? Especially since I have already paid thousands of dollars for the best carpet, expecting to never have to deal with this again.Your service and appreciation for customers is terrible! STEP IT UP CARPET SMART!
Poor customer service and appreciation for customers. I requested a refund after being lied to by sales rep and contractor for install.. the owner told me “ I’ll refund you your money, I don’t care”. I went to the store for a refund- owner didn’t even speak and point at a woman to “take care of me”. I wouldn’t recommand anyone to spend money with this business.

STAY AWAY! Absolutely, the worst customer service, and poorest craftsmanship I have experienced in my life. Totally dishonest, and the slimiest, and most despicable people ever. Absolute refusal to make good on promises, nor repair mistakes. They respond with hang up on him, or sue us. I ended up hiring my own installer to fix sloppy install. They also tried overestimating the cost when they measure the rooms. The subcontractors they use must be paid a commission for upping the estimate. I caught them doing this, and they refused to give the estimate, so I could compare it. When I called them out on it, they went back to the original quote. Go to home Home Depot, or Lowes. They have better product, prices, and will guarantee all work. YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!!!

Terrible. I have never before walked out of a store strictly because of the horrible customer service of the salesperson I was talking to. He was extremely rude and condescending. He treated us like we were a total nuisance. I was looking at vinyl plank and would have been ordering over 900 sq ft of flooring. At over $4.00 a square foot, he lost the store a lot of money. I will never be back.
This place is awesome went to the store to get my whole house carpeted the sales man was awesome very helpful when they came to install they where very professional and did a great job i HIGHLY recomend this store to anyone.
Total waste of time and retail space. The saturday rep in store cannot even use a knife, tape measure, and straightedge to cut a piece of vinyl flooring, youll have to wait until monday for that. Dont waste your time.
I BEG you not to spend your money at ANY Carpet Smart. They do not appreciate their customers. They made a mistake with my order and straight out blamed me and wouldnt apologize. I HATE it that I have contributed to their wealth. I will NEVER purchase from here again and I will tell everyone I know not to either.
Awful experience. The sales guy was okay to work with but the install was a joke. Very unprofessional, late, and made a mess. Asked for $20 cash to rip the old one out which was supposed to be included. Will not be using them again.
