We purchased a 14’ x 10’ awning from AA. Installation was a little delayed due to COVID but we’ve been extremely pleased with it. The installation team was on time and very efficient. The price was also very competitive. The salesperson we worked with overstated the length of the motor warranty when he gave us our quote but the company is honoring it which speaks to their integrity.

Weve had a large roll out awning for about three years and absolutely love it. It reduces our energy bill and looks great. We recently had a problem with the motor and Richard and Jeff came out and replaced it quickly. They were extremely personable, efficient, and left the backyard spotless. We cant express how thoroughly pleased we are with the entire staff and the quality of the product. Highly recommend this company - you wont be disappointed!

Update: I received a nice phone call the following morning, Saturday. Even though they were “closed”,... they took the time to call me back. Thank youI spoke to someone in the Chesapeake office.... wanting to find out where my order was concerning timing of delivery. It’s been 5 weeks since I placed my order. I was told I would get a call back by the end of the day. No call back.

This company is terrific!!! We had a problem with a large storm shutter that wouldn’t come back up after a big wind storm so I started searching for help. A&A was totally responsive from the initial contact, estimating, right through making repairs.The techs that came to my house (Gary and Dwayne) were well mannered, professional and very fast. They knew exactly what was needed and were prepared every step of the way. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use them again.

I want to thank Sean, the A&A salesman, for stopping by and going out of his way to help me with my awning. What we thought was going to be a temporary fix until repairmen could be scheduled played out completely differently than what I expected. My problem was I could not retract my awning manually (I dont have the electric capability) leaving it stuck in the full open position exposed to wind and storm damage. However, instead of scheduling repairmen, Sean himself immediately saw what the problem was, figured out how to quickly fix it and restored the ability of the crank handle to open and close the awning. Whereas I expected out of pocket expenses Sean ended up doing all the work for gratis. What I need to say is that he not only solved my original problem but while he was at it, also basically gave my 5 year old awning a tuneup by fine tuning adjustments, lubricating where needed and anchoring an out of the way problem screw. To top all that off, he showed me how to use a swim noodle to keep birds from nesting behind my awning. What can I say but that Sean showed himself to be about as good a representative for his company as is humanly possible. Thank you Sean!

In the beginning Sean seemed really enthusiastic about the awning project and very knowledgeable. He visited my property in May 2020 and got measurements and would send a quote. 2 weeks later and 4 calls later I have seen no estimate. Every time I call in regards to the quote, I get a excuse and response that I will followup with you shortly as I am busy with something else or my computer is down but yet no followups on the quote or even details on the work needed to purchase an awning. A month goes by (June 2020) and I decide to called the number on the website and spoke with Penny, who assured I would have a quote by COB the following day and reassured me that normally this not how business is done. The same day I received another call from Sean, apologizing about his failure to follow up and failures to return any of my emails. I am sorry to say but contrary to the other reviews my interaction has not been the same with this company. If I could give them a score of zero, I would.

Outstanding product and company! Penny is very friendly and always kept me apprised of any changes well in advance. Sean, Jeff, Dewayne, and David were very polite, did outstanding work, and went over and beyond in their attention to detail. As team leader, Sean made sure everything was explained as job progressed and made sure I was pleased with results. A definite asset to this company. If I could leave no stars, I would....The salesman came to my house on the last day of May 2020. This would be a repair of my existing awning, for which I paid half down during his visit and my credit card was billed 6/2/2020. The salesman said it would be a 3 week turnaround for completion. That time came and went and when I called their office, I was told that it would actually be mid to late July. In this time no one ever followed up with me and I’m left again calling their office looking for updates. Messages were taken and I was never called back on several occasions. Finally in August I’m told they need to put me on the schedule to pick up my existing equipment to take it to their office to repair prior to installation. They picked up my parts and again no further communication. Finally a week ago I get a call from the salesman who says my paperwork came across his desk and my existing motor doesn’t work and needs replaced. He also offered me a refund in this voicemail. The bottom line is that it’s almost October, summer came and went, and still no awning. The customer service was terrible. No updates, no communication, no return calls, and excuse after excuse.

These guys are terrific. We had a problem with a storm shutter on our cabana. They responded immediately to our call, came out and assessed the situation, and came back the next day as promised and fixed everything. Mike and Gary both really seemed to care about getting it right and making sure we were happy. We’ll call A&A again for sure.

Ordered 2 retractable awnings. Reasonable price. Sean McDonald, our sales rep, was very responsive. Although long lead time for install during the summer, Sean made sure we got installed on our time frame and even came to do the install himself. Did a great job. Highly recommend. Great warranty too.

Had a great experience! I got a quote and consult three years prior, but decided to hold off on the awning. When we were ready to move forward, A&A had all the information on file (including what pattern I picked since I long forgot) so I didnt have to go through the selection process again. It took about 5 weeks for the awning to be produced and installed and once it was ready, they were installing it within days. Sean, Devon, and Jack came to the house on time and did a perfect installation job. They were so courteous, friendly, and quiet, and cleaned up after the job. It was a pleasure working with them. They took their time explaining all the mechanics of the awning and how to care for it.What I most appreciate about A&A is that they proactively told me the gotchas so there were no surprises -- how you cant open the awning when the wind tops 10 mph, and how the motorized cord will be hanging out so I will need to hire an electrician to rewire it if I want the cord hidden. I am glad I knew all of that before making the purchase.I chose A&A because a friend went with them for their awning and I saw the quality of work at their home. I am happy to report the same quality was done at my home!

I already had an A&A awning - 23 years old and still has a few more years life in it. I was ready for a change Looked at competitors prices; some cheaper, some not. I chose A&A because of the quality product and installation I had previously. My saleslady was Debbie Supper and she was excellent. Very nice to work with. I felt no pressure to buy or to rush to my decision. My order was for a 10x15 awning outside my living room. It was hard to choose because of the choice of fabrics. I will add to this review when the work is done. I should say mine is a replacement covering so the installers will remove my old fabric and replace it with the new fabric I chose - all with the same framework from the original job. I am having a new hand crank because the old one has rusted but still works. So far I am delighted with A&A. All of their staff seem very knowledgeable. Another shoutout to Penny in the office and Mike, the owner, who both helped me.Update: motorized awning is in and I am delighted. It is terrific. I especially like sitting under the awning when it’s raining. I am a senior and while waiting for delivery I changed the manual operation to motorized and am so glad I did. Also it’s all new apparatus and trim which looks super. I am kicking myself for struggling with the manual crank for so long.A&A were excellent to deal with. When I was changing from manual to motorized Mike McDonald came out to talk to me and further explained the benefits and ease of the motorized awning. He seems to be a very nice person and that carries on down through the staff, rep. Debbie, office Penny and others, including my installers Jeff, Dewayne, Tim, who easily answered my questions and did a first class job.Heads Up: order early. One of the reasons I like A & A Awnings was that they offered larger awnings and a much bigger selection of fabric than their competitor.Installation of my retractable awning was fast, and easy. It only took about 1 hour. Sean, Gabe, and Matt did a great job.

My storm shutter got stuck and wouldn’t roll up because it’s almost ten years old.....I called the company to get it fixed and they said because of the upcoming hurricane and everyone ordering them that they were backed up 30 days! I asked to speak to the owner and told him that I was truly scared for my life because my shutter wasn’t working and I live just 2 blocks from the beach! He heard me loud and clear and sent a crew out the very next day and they fixed my shutter in no time flat!! I told them since they fixed my shutter that there would be NO damage from the hurricane and I was right! LOL I credit A and A awning company for Hurricane Florence not hitting us! Thank you A and A! I will refer you forever!!

Ive been in the building business for 30 plus years. This is without a doubt one of the worst sub contractors Ive ever dealt with. Multiple missed deadlines, false promises, quality issues. Be very careful dealing with them. I would not recommend giving them any money up front
