Totally incompetent and rude. The first location I went to claimed that there was cat fur on some of the clothing and they couldn’t take it. They refused to look through anything else. We had brought two bags and bins. Was advised clothes had to be freshly laundered. I took the clothes home THAT day and washed everything. Took them back to this location. First thing I was told was that they were owned by the same person and they don’t look at items that have gone to the other location. I told the associate that they refused to go through anything else. They had me submit another form (I dropped the items off.) they apparently called the other location and was told about the cat fur. When I came to pick up, they offered me for 13 dollars for an UNOPENED, unused changing pad that was still in its original packaging (other location initially said they couldn’t take that. So which one was it?) and a Batman walker once again unused. I asked the assoc. to show me where there was cat fur (she couldn’t. Asked for who I assumed was her supervisor to help her point it out) This supervisor got smart with myself and my husband after I called her out on numerous LIES. There was no cat fur. She finally said she had called the other Chesapeake location and was TOLD about fur. She didn’t see fur. Run from this location. Go somewhere else if you want to sell to a consignment location. My clothes were still on HANGERS. Pathetic

Visited last week. Pretty much a OUAC expert at this point. Stopping any town I can find one in. This location was organized very well and the selection was great in my option. Prices were fair for me because I strictly buy higher end brands. Always fun finding treasures hidden in the racks. Thanks for the pleasant visit. I’ll be back when I’m in town again.

If i could give zero stars i would. The owner Diane is so rude and if they are too busy and too lazy to go through your items (even though thats the whole point of this business i thought) she will and she will have her employees make up a reason not to accept youitems. As if youre not alreadyonly giving people 10% of what youre selling their belongings for.... i would think you would WANT to buy the items for dirt cheap bc its puttting money in your pocket. You can then take your items to a different location of theirs and they will mysteriously buy everything the other store claimed had issues or odor or whatever their lazy excuse was at the previous location that turned you away.but watch out bc if diane really has it out for you, she will call the other stores and tell them not to buy from you. This place is a total joke ....as long as the owner isnt there, you can make few bucks.

I went to the one on North Battlefield I brought three containers and some toys something that took 10 minutes to get out my car in a no parking zone that I didnt want to be in. I told them I was parking the car come back i was told by a young lady in glasses that they going to view because it was freshly washed. Of course I was annoyed. Then she try to remedy the problem telling I would be grateful to help take back to your car but that wasnt done either. Why would say your going to do something and then looked down and didnt even help. I dont think I be going to this location no more because everytime I walk in there theres always a problem where I brought to other locations more accommodating. I can see why people just drop off stuff at good will.

First time ever taking my stuff to OUAC, I took some really nice clothes my baby out grew, it was mostly Carters and some of it wasnt even worn but they did take some clothes. My main problem was I brought in a ride on toy and it was in great condition but was told they couldnt take it bc it supposedly didnt have all the original screws......ummm the only time I ever took a screw out was to change the batteries but I put it right back in but they didnt want to hear it. Im not going to stand there and argue with an employee about my stuff bc I general just donate but I wont be going back. The first lady that I spoke to came off very abrasive and had horrible customer service skills. Ill continue to donated to families in need rather get change from a consignment store.

Brought in a large contrainer of clothes that I actually took my time going through and folding and a box of shoes. Member said she saw dog hair, probably in my second box of shoes (makes sense) but doesnt even look like they went through the large clothes container. Thanks Once Upon a Child for NO help.

Mykell is always so polite and helpful every time I come into the store! Im scatterbrained and distracted a lot and hes been so patient and sweet. Ive always had great experiences while shopping there, but Mykell has great customer service and deserves to be recognized!

Do not sell your clothes here! You are better off donating your items on your own they offer $17 for 2 barley used winter coats and a couple of new items. They told me the other clothes were stained and worn... not true at all as some of the items had never been worn because my son skipped a size and out grew the items before getting to wear them. This store is a joke.

Ive been shopping here since before my 19 month old was born. Love their sales (the bodysuit sales is amazing) and I just started selling back to them. Super easy process both times, you just have to remember that they are a business and if some of your stuff dosent meet the requirements its not personal. I just donate what they didnt buy from me. The employees are helpful and stay plesent even when the line is crazy because of one of their awesome sales.

Jen was a lifesaver. I am so glad she answered the phone. She picked out the perfect jacket for my son over the phone! And when I got there is was hanging and ready for me to buy. So helpful thank you Jen for being amazing employee!

Clean store. They bought some clothes I brought in. They have a great selection, all organized by gender, size, color. I really liked this store and will be sure to come back!

This is a great store! They have awesome baby items and they have reasonable prices.

I wish I had read the reviews before trying to sell there. I had 2 storage bins worth of expensive clothing. They gave me $4 for a handful of items and said the rest were stained, out of date, too worn. It was untrue. I have shopped there for years and know the kind of things they sell. Not everything is beautiful and wonderful. It is clear that the staff didnt really look at anything I had brought. The staff look overworked and were less than friendly. What a waste of time. I will just donate my items in the future. To the owner, please do not respond with the same response you give to other negative reviews. Your time would be better spent trying not to lose good customers. I have 7 children who need clothing. My money will go elsewhere now.

The staff were super sweet! We came in with a lot of items, (like a tub of clothes and some toys), and they took a generous amount of clothes and some toys and offered us $43, which I could definitely not make at a yard sale. Their store is also super organized, I was blown away when i first walked in by how neatly everything was placed and sorted. Ill be back and I recommend this place to anyone with kids who need new clothes or toys!

They only gave me $13 for maybe a 3rd of what I brought in there. I dont even think the lady looked thru half my tote bc half the stuff in there still had tags on them where my son never wore. Some of the items in the store are over prices to be used clothes.

Had a stroller literally in my hands practicing opening and closing it to make sure it worked well and an employee came up and took it from me and gave it to someone else.

I live very close, so have been to this store quite a bit. I love buying books here, however, I have to agree with other reviews regarding selling to the store when my clothes are new, brand name and tear/stain free (and we dont smoke) they usually take very little. Many of their clothes they are trying to sell looks like it needs to be swapped out for something updated....tee shirts and leggings are usually pretty ragged looking. The manager also is a little gruff. Will give attitude if you dont seem to be 100 percent up to date on all their policies..she could use to be a little friendlier...always looks annoyed to be doing her job.

Poor selection of clothes and a very rude staff. I had a better experience at the one on Upton Dr. where the selection was great and the staff was friendly. Since the two stores are under the same management, I would have expected them to be held to the same standards. Mostly for the staff as they can only sell what they have brought in so having a poor selection isn’t something that can really be controlled. I will definitely be returning to the store on Upton Dr. again and not this one.

Great place to sell and buy slightly used childrens clothing.

I sold items here and overall had a good experience. I brought in a lot of clothes and toys and they bought a decent amount. I was told the reason they didnt buy more is because they pass on items that dont sell fast enough. I did think they would want more of my things judging by the clothes on the racks. I expected to get completely ripped off but was offered almost $100. No real work involved on my part and purchased more clothes in exchange. All staff I encountered were extremely helpful and kind. I will definitely be back!

I generally tend to have good experiences when I visit this store, but today, while I had a pleasant Shopping experience, I was less than pleased with the looks a few of your staff members gave us. My boyfriend and I are definitely not the most traditional couple, but I thought that they were a little more professional than that and Im a little disappointed. All I wanted was to pick some things for my godson, and instead I was judged and gawked at, and it overall affected my experience with your store.

I just recently moved to Hampton Roads and yesterday I went to this location to see if I could find a Halloween costume for my baby. Saying I was impressed is a huge understatement. Comparing this store to the one we had where I used to live makes the other one look bad (and dont get me wrong, it was a good store too). The selection is really good, I didnt see a single item that was not in pristine condition, the clothes were organized, the prices were good and the staff was very friendly. I will be coming back for sure. Oh, and my son will be a cute leopard this Halloween, and it only cost me $2.25 :)Update on 04/2021It’s been over 2 years since I wrote my initial review and I continue shopping at this location every new season. I still love their selection and the price is fair. Today was my first day selling and I confess I was a little nervous because of some of the reviews here. So I pre-selected my clothes, washed them and even stripped the clothes to make sure they were super clean before taking it there. They still rejected most of my stuff, and that is fine, I was expecting it and I know it’s not personal. They just have to select clothes that cater to their usual customer and also that they don’t already have tons of. Even though I didn’t ask, the lady who helped me took the time to explain why some of my items didn’t make the cut, which was very nice of her. She was very polite and professional. I think what they offered for the items they kept was very reasonable and took it right away. The items they didn’t select found a mama that will use them, and I’m happy the clothes I loved so much will serve other mamas and families one way or another. They definitely made a loyal customer out of me, both for buying and selling. :)

I always come here to get clothes and shoes for my kids! Great selection, great organization, great prices! Many have complained about them not taking their items for consignment, this is true, but they get TONS of clothes, there is literally no way they could take anything less than nearly perfect! And as for what they offer for the items they do take- this is really one step above donations, they cant offer a lot when they sell it for so little! Im still happy to shop there- but my kids wear their clothes to the ground, I dont expect to use them for consignment much.

I usually go to the Newport News store but I was in Chesapeake and had a ton of gently used preemie and newborn clothes so I figured I might as well try to see if they need any. Well upon walking in I could tell they were busy and I was asked what I was selling because “they only need newborn-3 months sleepers and outfits” which I had over 20 of. So the lady proceeded to tell me if i stay in store it’ll be 30 minutes if not they gave me a time the order would be done by. I said that’s fine but I’ll be back an hour or so before then. No problem. Well coming back an hour or so before the time they gave me (3 hours after I dropped the clothes off) the lady who sorts the clothes (I assume the owner? I’m not sure) spoke me to very rudely about how i was given a time for a reason. I get that you’re busy and it’s close to Black Friday but please start treating your customers with a little respect and BE NICE. I didn’t complain when over 3/4 of my clothes were turned away (even when I made sure there were no stains/ washed / lint rolled the whole nine yards and they were barely used) for “wear and tear” because I know you get a ton of stuff a day. But i won’t be coming back here. I’ll stick to the Newport News store since they are way more friendly. If I could give you stars for the regular floor staff it’d be four because they were friendly and inviting but you were not.

This location was sadly not my favorite. I honestly dont think the girl even looked at half the stuff I brought it. Most of it was namebrand, barely worn and in excellent condition. Whatever, Thatz fine. But the attitude of the girl checking clothes was what made me not want to come back. You can tell she hated her job and was just irritated. Ive had multiple people tell me the associates were rude and now Ive seen it for myself. On a good note there was a great variety of clothes to choose from, I was very happy to see they had a big selection of cleats at a price you cant beat.

I’ve been to this location a few times and always as well as today it was a positive experience. I dropped off a bag of clothes to sell and got back a decent amount of cash for it. The staff was so friendly and looked happy and it made me feel positive leaving the store.

I just wanted it out of my house because I didnt need it anymore. what I said was not the appropriate thing to say and I do sincerely apologize. I did tell the woman that came up to me what you had said that I cannot give it to her while in your store. after that it was small talk.again I do apologize. I wasnt upset that you wouldnt take it. just wanted it gone as it was taking up space and I was moving.again I apologize for offending you.other wise the store has great items. which is why they are so picky when you sell things to them.

The owner discriminates against people with medical conditions. They are not even allowed to shop within the store. Discrimination is wrong!

This store is a great concept and offers nice clothes at a discounted price.My experience selling was less disappointing. The staff I dealt with were not friendly. I watched them go through my clothes and they skipped half of my items. Before getting to the bottom of one of my bags, they put the clothes they had already removed back inside. They missed quite a few brand name items that were never worn and still had tags on them.I brought four bags full of clothes. The lack of friendly customer service is enough to deter me from doing this again.I will gladly be donating my items to others from now on.

I have used once upon a child in other state and never got a problem. This people are not customer service oriented. If I waited in store they would take about 40 minutes to give me a quote. If I get out of the store they say it would take 2 hours!Since I had to do other things, I said ok, 2 hours. There were a LOT of employees, or at least a LOT of people with the employee shirts on!! When my two hours were done I was already in the store; first no one had even the courtesy to offer help, since I went straight to the counter full of employees and everyone pretended I wasn’t even there. I had to say excuse me, and tell them what I needed to do even when they knew, because they all saw me two hours before and the person how attended me before was also there. Second the lady who grabbed my attention couldn’t find the things I brought (that’s how unorganized they are!!) When she found the two bags of toys, she asked the others who took care of it, EVERYONE stared at each other like they didn’t know, and NO ONE had the balls to take the responsibility. She read through the notes and tells me that not a single toy was accepted. I had 2 bags of toys, a lot of them with batteries on and FULLY FUNCTIONAL, and not even the baby toys which were used but in good condition were accepted. Most toys I got in the bag looked even in better condition than the ones I saw them selling at the store and without batteries!! So I waited two hours for a quotes, just to go back home with the two bags of toys, because the one taking care of the items couldn’t call the number on the information sheet to let me know as soon as she finished, and wasn’t even capable of talking to my face and tell me what make her do such a simple job of refusing everything!! That’s how easy they get the job done to get paid!!

I’ve been less than impressed with customer service at this location in the past. But today I brought in a bag of clothes, they told me it would take 1/2 hour, which was fine. After 45 minutes I went up to ask about the progress, and they told me they couldn’t even look through my clothes because of a “pet smell.” Well I don’t have pets and everything had just been washed so I was a bit confused. I have a feeling they were making an excuse because they were busy. Additionally, they never called me, letting me wait 45 min to find out they wouldn’t even look at my stuff. On a whim I brought the bag to another local Once Upon A Child store, and they took more than 3/4ths of my items and never mentioned a pet smell. Clearly you have some folks working for you at this store that just don’t care, and make excuses when they are busy. I will not return to this location in the future. I love the concept of this store and always find great stuff, but the customer service and honesty at this location is sorely lacking.

I used to like this place because the prices were cheaper and they always had sales going on but anyway they don’t want anything that I’ve tried to sell when they are still pretty lightly used yet they have plenty of ratty looking clothes on their shelves. Also the prices are just way too expensive. I’d rather just go to target and buy from their clearance items for cheaper and at least they’re new.

After reading the reviews I was a bit apprehensive to come to once upon a child to consign my daughters things. I thought it would be a waste of time, but I decided to go and I had a great experience. Diane was very helpful and understanding that it was my first time consigning with them and I didnt have a bin, but I came organized and she was very nice and looked through all of my things. They gave me a great quote for the toys and clothing that I brought. She is a business owner and has a beautiful shop and just wants beautiful things to put in it, so if you have nice clean clothing and toys bring them in and Im sure she will help you out.

Very friendly staff. They are very kind, helpful and paitent with their customers even the ones who are being nasty for no apparent reason. They always help me find things Im looking for even if its at another of their locations. Highly recommended this store.

Do not shop here! The staff is extremely rude. The owner replies to complaints extremely passively. She implies consistently that the customers that complain are only doing so because their clothing was not purchased. I believe that if she’d address the actual complaints individually she would see that the customer is not complaining about the quantity of items being accepted by the store but of poor customer service given via the process. If the owner can’t see the blatant disregard of providing exceptional customer service neither will her employees.

This is a great OUAC facility with a huge selection. I went in to purchase a few things and found what I was looking for. It was right between seasons but the selection was still large. The staff was friendly and courteous to both those selling and buying. This place certainly deserves more than the 3.3 star rating it currently has. If youre selling new clothes to a consignment shop and they intend to sell it for half (or less than half) of the ticketed price, I think 25% of what you paid for it is more than fair. They need to make a living too. I will certainly be back to this location.

My wife recently wrote a review only to be given the same canned response that the owner gave to her other disappointed customers. She was sorely disappointed at the ridiculous offer, which she did decline. I think the owner has trouble with maintaining quality customer service and getting the facts straight. We wont be shopping or selling here. Ever. Sorry that you lost our business permanently.

Certain staff members come off like they could care less for people of color coming in to sake clothes. I have witnessed how African American sellers leave with not much purchased from their item brought in verses a Caucasian and the African American has had better quality clothes to sale. I have spoken to other woman of color just to make sure what I have witnessed and also experienced myself was not just in my head. I have even went to the extent of taking what was not purchased to another Once Upon A Child and the entire lot they passed on was brought by them 🤔 that confirmed it for me. I have come to this location for years now and I seem to always have the same experience when the staff is predominately CaucasianDiane this is in response to your rebuttal...... No I never stated where I sold my clothes that’s false information given to you by your staff. Second I read your response to most reviews and even YOUR response shows biase. If you see the names and notice how you stated that you were sorry for your experience in the store please contact me to those that were white verses black names you yourself would see the issue. But a racist never admits to being just that. You found the time as a PROFESSIONAL/LEADER to put intimate details of the black shoppers experience but not this that had white names 🤔 I find that quite odd. Yes I did have clothes to big and I accept full responsibility for not noticing as my children assisted in putting this crate together but that doesn’t take away from the level of disrespect many of our colored counterparts have received. The problem can not be fixed when it’s also management. Is that why your staff has very few African American workers ? The other locations are more diverse ! It’s ok have a blessed one 🙏🏾

Love the prices and quality of clothes! They also have toys and costumes. Ive sold and bought clothes here. I didnt have many items, so it didnt take long for a quote but I hear it can take up to an hour depending on how much you bring. All in all, its a great spot.

I have bought and sold to this location many times. I have come in many times with my kids and an associate offered to help bring in the items that I am selling. Today, I came in with my infant, who was in her car seat attached to her stroller . The manager asked if I was selling. I told her yes, but I was by myself. She said that I could pull up to the curb. I gave her look of disbelief. She then said, “Or you could leave the baby.” I quickly replied no! A customer offered to help me. That’s a problem.Then, I was told there was a 45 min wait. I told the associate that I would come back. This was at 10:49am. She said, “So 12:00p?” I said that’s an hour. She looked at the clock and said “1:00.” I stated that that was longer. The manager stepped in and said that it’s a longer wait if you leave the store, which was not stated to me in the beginning. I said that I’ll stay then. (Note: if you’re waiting in the store, they don’t call you up when they are done. So, why the longer wait if I leave?)When they were done, I was told for my items I was getting $21.95 back. I stated that the skates have never been worn. She said they were priced at $29.50, so they automatically have to go half, which is $15. They were giving me $6 for each pair. I asked well could I get $10 for each since they haven’t been worn. She asked this same manager, who stated that they couldn’t adjust the price because that’s how it rings up in their system. I said you all are making a $9 profit. She said we’re not making a profit. I said not you personally, but the store is. She stated that they have to give the customer 30-40% of whatever they sell, so if they gave more then they would have to up the price.This was true worse experience I’ve had. The selling policy and customer service needs to be revisited. You are not fulfilling your mission to customers of an easy and convenient experience.

Theyre good for finding a good deal on some clothes. However I had 3 items of clothing from the childrens place never worn with tags worth over $40. They offered me $3. You have got to be kidding me. They will pry sell it for anywhere from 7 plus dollars a piece. Pathetic!

My wife and I stopped by this location for the first time today. Needless to say, my wife and I had a great time looking through the enormous selection of baby girl clothes. Prices were fair, and she loved the 10 for $10 onsies. I know she will be recommending this store to all of her friends in the area. The owner also took the time to introduce herself which I thought was very admirable. Will be coming here before going to all of the over priced Baby stores!

I wish I could give them NO stars ! Dont sell anything to the Chesapeake store they are so picky, Ive had better experiences at the Va beach one . The one in Chesapeake will try to buy a bunch of your items and give you nothing for what its worth. They find every small thing wrong with anything you have. And most of everything in here have stains, and paint coming off their items! Every time I go to that store its a problem every time the owner is there she just picks dumb reasons as to why she dont accept things you could have things with tags, name brand clothes/shoes and gently used items and they wont take them. This store is definitely a rip off & they wont be getting any of my business anymore !

I had an amazing experience! I went in with ALOT of my kids clothes to sell, and I left very happy! Diane was a major help and all the young ladies were very pleasant. Found a new place to shop and sell!

Seriously brought In a whole tub of cloths, a pair of brand new still in box Vans Rainbow Mermaid edition zip up shoes and a jack in the box. They wanted the jack in the box and the vans. The vans still brand new which they acknowledged and the jack in the box never played with was offered a total $5.20.

Never going back to sell here. They have way too many employees to justify their higher than consignment prices. 4 of whom were standing around doing nothing! Even with their surplus of employees, I still had to wait an hour for clothes to be reviewed and entered into their computer when I was promised 30 minutes. Such a waste of time! And I was offered 30% of what they will sell them for. That is just not right. Glad to let you know their bad business. I read some of the other reviews saying the same thing, and the owners responses are disappointing. The prices are higher than she stated and many of her comments defending the store were just not true from my own experience. Prices are high and they offer peanuts for very nice clothes and like-new shoes! I had the same experience years ago and decided to give them another chance and was unfortunately disappointed again. Hope you will select another place when considering selling or buying your items. Play it Again Sports gave me $25 for 3 pairs of cleats and some knee and elbow pads. Note to owner: Im a business woman too. Fire your lazy, rude employees amd offer more $ for the nice, like-new, name-brand clothes amd shoes that are brought in for your consideration!! Good luck.

I have to agree with the other reviews that this is the pickiest consignment shop Ive ever been to. Dont waste your time bringing your items here- they accept little to nothing. I know I wont waste my time again- Ive had better luck, with less effort and received more money selling online at garage sale sites!

It won’t let me put in a response to the owner regarding my other review for the Virginia Beach store. Diane, i didn’t “insult “ your staff . I don’t know the ladies name so it was a simple description. And you claim items in there aren’t worn down or stained or raggedy. I’ll come in there sometime this week or weekend just to prove my point regarding the worn down and stained shoes and pieces of clothing. As you being the owner, i don’t feel as though your response to my review was appropriate. If you could provide me with an email where i can contact you privately, I’ll be more than happy to email you. I come here all the time with almost perfect pieces of clothing that my kids have grown out of and i always check yalls Facebook page for what’s in demand. I always get good pricing on my items but you’ve had quit a change of staff lately and since then, quality has gone down. And this is a customer who’s been coming here since i found out i was pregnant with my first child 4 years ago. If you don’t like the bad reviews regarding your employees buying clothing not just from me but from majority of the other reviews, maybe you should train your staff a little bit better.

Very well organized store, I was also impressed on how the items are mostly in perfect condition! Prices are higher than goodwill or the regular thrift store but it is justified by the quality, variety and the fact that everything is well categorized by size and type of clothing. Saved me sooooo much time! Also, dont forget to ask about their loyalty card, I saved 20% on a big purchase, that was nice :)

Ive never actually written a review before online but Im very disappointed with this location. I just purchased two outfits from them at the end of June, I went there today to sell some clothes including those items back to them. They would not take those items back. I never used the clothes and they said they were worn and faded and therefore were unsuitable for buying. Why would they have them on the racks before and why would they have sold them to me if they were unsuitable for buying? It would seem to me that they need to reevaluate their buying process especially since I had some brand-new clothes that Ive never been worn that they also said had issues.

We bring 11 items of baby clothes that are NEW with tag and OSHKOSH AND CARTERS BRAND, Rompers and Button Down Shirts. We wanted to sell it but they are just offering us $18 and some change! Are you kidding me? This is so ridiculous! Its like a $1 and some change for each of them NEW with tag ! Oh wow! I will never go back to this store again!

Everytime I come here it is wonderful. I always shop here for my kids and Ive always been pleased with the quality of the items plus the customer service is wonderful! Today was my first time bringing in items yes theyre picky on what they take, but for good reason! I was very satisfied with what they offered and I love the sale 10 onsies for $10! I am definitely a returning customer!

I will never come here again. The whole process is biased. I have sold before and understood the process of sorting items. The employees were not knowledgeable. I sorting through all items that they said were “stained” and couldn’t find not one. They stated they don’t take name brand items if it isn’t “Childrens Place” or ”granimals”. The clothes they had out to sell we all faded, wrinkled, and worn out. She immediately saw that I had brands like juicy C and Jordan and didn’t want nothing to do with the rest. She told me one of my toys that was never opened had been recalled, yet they had the same toy open and wear and tear out to sale. It’s just a waste of time. They need to be shut down.

Love this place!! Great prices! Nice looking clothes and shoes for my daughter. I dont mind at all buying 2nd hand clothes as fast as my daughter is growing. They all look practically brand new.

They offered me 10 dollars for TWENTY TWO brand NEW carters and target newborn thru 9 month clothes, with the tags on! I wouldn’t sell to them If were you.

ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY LIFE! I love the Virginia Beach location and decided to stop by this one because it on my way home. The staff have the worst attitude problems, they were extremely condescending and rude when asked questions about an item I wanted to purchase and even worse when I inquired about the criteria for items I had at home that I possibly wanted to sell. I watched the register staff treat a customer trying to sell their items like scum on the bottom of their shoe even and after they asked for management blew them off and didnt even attempt to finishing looking at the items in their bag before telling them the items were unacceptable with no rhyme or reason as to why. Ive never felt so bad for someone. I will never step foot in this location again.

I always have a good experience shopping and selling here and believe prices are fair. Store is well organized there is a bit of a wait but I always plan accordingly by either coming back to store or shopping while they sort. I like that they also have new items below retail.

This is the largest and most organized once upon a child Ive been to. Great clothes and toys. Very affordable. Will definitely be back for my kids.

When it comes to selling ideas I had a horrible experience...... I had things with tags or barely worn NAME brand items that got passed over. The women that review my items barely even look at the things I brought in. Instead she wanted to talk about her personal life. I will no longer being going to this location.

I did not anything about the store. I went to sell some clothes and they only took a few shirts and told me the rest were stained, which was not true. they all were clean and worn once. The price are okay but I can go to carters and get the same stuff for the same price just new. The staff was also a bit rude.

Nice staff, decent clothes for decent price. Never had an unpleasant experience with staff or customers. A tad pricey. I’ve never tried to sell clothes to them.

I went in to sell clothes and was told I could either stay and wait or come back later. If I stayed it would only take 35-45 minutes but if I left it would take two hours for the clothes to be sorted. So I decided to stay. I watched one person sort through the clothes that were being brought in while having to stop every three minutes to check someone else in by reading their policy and writing their ID info down. Well an hour and forty five minutes later they’re finally done sorting through my things just to find that they’ve hardly taken anything. Everything in my bin was gently used brand names such as carters. We went in October so I brought all winter stuff such as long sleeve pajamas, long sleeve onesies, and pants. The main things they took was Christmas onesies and pajamas. Which ok but Then told me they don’t take stuff that is from a missing set (which they took a dinosaur onesie from a missing set? Ha) and so you’re telling me you don’t take just onesies or long sleeve shirts without a pair of matching pants? Because when I looked around in there I saw shirts and onesies by themselves being sold all over the store. I also watched a woman come in with a box of clothes and said hello to one of the employees like they were friends and knew each other. Well the employee she said hello to then took this woman’s box of clothes and sorted through them and skipped the line even though I had already been there for over an hour. She was in and out of the store in under 15 minutes. This experience was absolutely horrible. I’ll go back to kid to kid next time.

Took 6 items in to sell and for a speck that could be wiped off on each it was turned away. They basically want brand new items to sell. Waste of time. Took in a brand new bike and it was missing a small amount of air and the girl said we had to put air in it. Meanwhile there was a dingy bike with yellowed parts with some tears and they accepted that. All the shoes to my left had scuff marks and very visible dirt but she wouldnt take a brand new diaper bag with tags, a baby carrier, a schwinn tricycle, and to car seat cozies. I wont even go back to purchase items. Took it to diaper bag consignment shop up the street and she took all of it happily.

Amazing selection, I was given a fair price for the items I sold to them, and the staff was extremely helpful. I’ll be going back for sure!!!

Things are very in order which is nice and makes it easy to find clothes. Usually a very good selection and the staff was nice.

Horrible service and RACIST owner. My husband and I went to this location today to sell gently used and some brand new items. They quickly turned us away before the clothes were looked at. I will never buy from this place again or refer anyone to shop there.

I was ok with how much I got from selling clothes and they looked like they had nice stuff in there. However one particular little girl needs to check her attitude. She was rude to another co-worker who asked if something was fasionable or not. Plus she did not have her name tag on. I know thats a big no no.

My husband and I give up on selling to this location, therefore we will not return to purchase either unfortunately. We are usually declined offers, due to ridiculous reasons. Literally there were two, once-inch lines on our pack n play, so they said no thank you. Its absolutely absurd. When my husband told me of this, it took him 5 minutes just to find the two lines they pointed out. Its a gently used store, what do they expect? Absolute waste of time. We will just utilize the virtual Facebook yard sale group moving forward.

Terrible on the buying end! I dropped off a box of good quality stuff and came back and they had just picked 3 random items and have me $7...they hadnt even gone through my whole box. Will never return there for selling items! Didnt get to shop, so not sure how they are on that end!

This was my first time selling items to this place i advise anyone to not sale anything to this place because they rip people off. They only offer me $17 for 2 pair shoes and at least 15 other items that was in good condition. Please dont sale to this place!!!

I enjoy shopping here because i always find name brand clothes in great shape. My complaint is that they can be a little inconsistent, multiple times I have found more than one of the same item but priced differently.

The store was well organized, but brought a bunch of stuff in to sell. They only picked out a few things and payed pretty well for them but said the other stuff had been worn too much and had stains. There were no stains on anything, and half of it was never worn at all! Im very disappointed, this store is just as bad as platos closet for adults! Will not be going back, would have better luck having a yard sale!

If I could rate them under a one I would. We sold them some items got under 20 bucks. I feel like its a complete rip off because when I walked around the store I seen items just like ours that were being sold for 20 to 30 bucks. They literally had items there that had rips and stains but didnt want to take our items. To make matters worse, the clerk stated they dont take granimals however I seen plenty of granimals and etc around. The clerk asked my husband how he would like his money cash or however else they give it, I guess he took too long to answer and she spoke for him. I say all of this to say never again!

I wish I wouldve seen the reviews before going. Was in the area but will do my research beforehand the next time. Also, the lady that checked me out sound like she had a bunch of peanut butter in her mouth and when I informed her that I didnt understand what she was saying, instead of repeating herself clearly she tried to give me education lesson ..wrong customer please try with another.

My first time ever selling with them and the last. As soon as i walked in I didnt feel welcomed. I brung my baby swing, play mat and clothes. They right away looked at the swing and play mat and told me just clean off the little milk marks and bring the items back but they kept the clothes to look at them. i came back to put up the clothes and returned with the baby swing and play mat. When i showed the lady to play mat the lady switch and said oh we dont buy those right after she told me just wipe it and bring it back. She then looked at the swing and said oh it doesnt work so were not going to take it. The lady trying to work it didnt even have it on when i was trying to tell her how to work it. So while she was ringing me up for the clothes they did take i turned the swing on and let it swing the entire time for like 10 minutes on its own. She didnt even explain why they didnt buy the other items. Just looked at me handed me my bag and walked away. The lady really had a attitude and I didnt feel welcomed at all.

Repeated inflexibility with the management. Sub par offerings on items, no exceptions to same day processing including snow storms. Over priced merchandise. This place is a joke as is the majority of the franchise. Only the owner can look up store credit?! Go visit Sweet Repeats or Tiny Tots for personal service, better deals, and more manageable merchandising

Don’t get me wrong I love this store for my daughter but actually selling items NO NOT AT ALL ! Some employees aren’t up to date with their acceptance of clothes ... on several occasions I went back through my items after giving a quote and asked what was wrong with something and they would say a stain but couldn’t find it and then just get a attitude and add the clothing to the quote with a attitude....

I love this store! Very friendly employees. The clothes, toys, and equipment are in like new condition, so you never have to worry!

Unfriendly staff and they do not notify you when items are ready like other stores. They saw me waiting around by the counter for 30 minutes before I asked how much longer and they gave me my items. I wont return to this location.

Cool place to buy..but dont waste your time selling...me and my wife gotta odd vibe when we came here..they told me my clothes smelled of smoke..yet we dont smoke..

I do NOT recommend the Chesapeake location AT ALL. I went in there today to sell some of my daughters clothes, which were used & brand new. It was my first time there and my wait time was thirty minutes. After my wait, they told me that they would not be able to accept my clothes bc they smelled. I knew they didnt smell bc I wouldnt bring smelly clothes to sell. I took the SAME clothes to the NEWPORT NEWS location and they took my clothes without any problems and gave me a generous amount for them as well. The Chesapeake location seemed very biased about who they wanted to service. The clothes that I brought in looked a lot better than what they had on the racks & I also believe that they didnt want to go thru my items as well (I did have a lot). I will not be recommending this place to anyone and will tell others about my experience as well. Very unsatisfied.

Staff are complete jerks at this location. They will find any excuse on the planet to get out of working. Every single time we have tried to sell something here they find another rule that they forgot to tell us to avoid even looking at the clothes.

I come to this location at least once a month to buy and sell. And because it is a 45 minute drive i always come with ALOT of items. The staff has been friendly each and every time. And while there are some items that I believe are sellable they do not but I dont mind. And more often than not the money I do get goes right back to the store because the selection is great. Thank you for having such a wonderful staff and for being so patient when sellers like myself come through the doors with bundles of items lookong for new homes.

Love this store. Very organized. Everything I have found is very clean.
