Central Meats plus a Pitboss grill is an awesome combination! My favorite Chesapeake Butcher! Theres nothing like that classic butcher shop sound of slicing meat and wrapping it in that thick brown paper! Central Meats delivers every time. Large assortment, spices, and sauces. You cant go wrong with CM! Who doesnt love butcher cut bacon! Family friendly establishment, very professional staff.

Always a great butcher shop. The prices are on point with the grocery store and you are supporting a local business that has Virginia raised meat. They also process wild game and do custom cuts.

I made a special trip to the butcher shop with what I thought was a simple request: To buy a pound of pork butt roast. I needed it for a Chinese BBQ recipe. Not knowing anything about meat, I was astonished when all they had was 7 pounds and above. Far too much for just myself and my mother.I explained my dilemma to the butcher, who spoke to his manager. It took a few minutes, but he cut a special one pound batch of meat just for me. I was blown away by his skill and customer service.I also picked up four sausages (as a first-time guest, my first pound of sausage was free; be sure to mention the promotion if youre a first-timer), and some bun-length Nathans hot dogs.The shop has an amazing selection of meat.I love this place; I wish it wasnt so far away from my house or Id be back regularly. As it is, Im saving this to my list of preferred shops.Five stars.

Awesome pulled pork. They sell mild to spicy. I recommend the spicy. The butchers case is to die for. They also sell frozen and precut family packs. Ive used them for catering twice and was very pleased.

First time here on Friday July 9,2021. My sister usually comes here for her meat and raves about. We were both disappointed today. I wish I had taken pictures. Some of the meat should have not been displayed. The pig feet and ears were old and dried. The Turkey wings and oxtails did not look fresh at all.Hopefully the next time she goes it will be better

We always have great service here. Items are packaged well. Great selection of beef, pork, chicken, etc. They have exotic meats as well in the freezer area. They have dog food/treats too. They have rubs, sauces, spices, vegetables, ice, etc. We have liked all the meats we have bought some this place the last 3 years. They have had specials happening every time we have gone in here. They have a Facebook page as well that shows the specials and they have a website you should checkout. You can also call to order meat for pickup. You can get cattle, etc. processed here as well for a fee and get your meat so you dont have to cut it all up yourself.

Dont buy the minute steak. Its just loose hamburger and falls apart when you try to cook it. On the other hand, the hot smoked sausage is great!

I bought a 13 lb rib roast and it was so delicious, tender and juicy. The chuck was falling apart tender in the stew. Quality meat at reasonable prices! I highly recommend Central Meats.

Best place hands down for your meat poultry and seafood. The have everything including the seasonings. Always have a sale going on! But even then, they are the best price around.

Love this place! The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is always appreciated. Because its not very large and because they are adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, you may find yourself waiting to get inside. Also you may need to wait at the meat counter for meats that require weighing or special requests. They may need a ticket system here because it can get congested quickly. Overall, it is a great establishment and I will continue to be a customer.

1st Class Butcher Shop!! I dont even buy meat at chain grocers any more. Spend a dollar more for 5 dollar more quality, your body and family will thank you. Central meats is Chesapeakes little pearl and we cant live right without her or him, however you wanna swing it. You had better get your life right and get down there because they close at 5 and dont open on Sunday.

I meal prep for the week and absolutely love being able to go to the counter and ask for the right amount of meat I need instead of looking at how many packs I need to buy. Plus the color and smell of their meat is absolutely perfect. I wish they could get lamb head and feet.

Only issues I have here is sometimes when I grab meat there is blood all over the packaging and area it is in that gets on my hands and I cant wash it. Haha that just might be a personal issue

Stopped by yesterday to pickup a bone in prime rib roast but settled for choice. I am sure it had something to do with my lack of planning so it was all good. So I cooked it up today and it was amazing, not to mention it was my first time. Also first time at Central Meats and it was a great experience.

Folks were very friendly. I was delivering some venison for preparation and both the clerk who took my order and the attendant who took my venison were extremely efficient. I was out in less than 15 minutes.

Best fresh meat market around,No shrinkage in any of the meats. Due to COVID-19 you cant order the bundle packages but they do have express bundles (no substitutions) when you walk in. Families of 5 or more, youll get Great prices for great meats that last for awhile.

They were so nice to help me & the store was very busy which is a hard thing to do. I purchased great meats not only for my family cheap i also got raw dog food for my puppy.

Fantastic place to get meat!! All their meat is antibiotic-free with no growth hormones. Their management is the best -- around Thanksgiving I didnt need a whole turkey and asked about turkey thighs -- the next time I went in, they were in the meat case! We have also ordered specialty meats in the past for a special diet, e.g., an elk and maybe a bison brisket -- so they can get some unusual things as well.

This is my 2nd order pickup experience. This place is amazing! If youre in Chesapeake 23320 you must swing by and check it out yourself! I would say this will be the only place Ill buy my poultry! My first time I called them and ask if they can do order pick up. The lady helped me take the order and got everything ready in 10 mins! I went in and get in the line and paid! Everything is ready to go! The 2nd time I called this morning at 10:30 and they told me to pick up at 1pm. I asked if they can help so I can pick it up at 11 because is so hot out and with my 2 little ones! I went there at 11:10 and went to the counter! Paid for it in 1 min and someone even helped to carry the whole box of meat to my van! I cant describe how exceptional the service is! To me is like royalty treatment! No wonder this place have so many customers! Thanks for providing such wonderful service and good quality products!

A small place! The young man who waited on us had a bad attitude...like he didnt want to be there. I tried everything I could to get him to at least smile. We spent over three hundred dollars in that store. The cashier was a very pleasant person that the meat handler could take notes from.
