The employees here are so fast at the checkout line, quite possibly the speediest I have ever experienced. Thank you to you all and thank you for helping make Christmas possible for myself and my family today. The Chesapeake Square Toys R Us has a HUGE inventory and a SUPER helpful staff.

The chain is going out of business. Thought I would find great sales on educational toys at a deep discount. I purchased 1 item at 25% or 30% ( forgot which) off. Was hoping for a larger percentage at this point; as it has been known for awhile locally about ToysRUs going out of business. Will revisit in a couple of weeks.

Customer Service is poor. Unfriendly staff 9/10 times when Im in the store. The managers even act as if you are bothering them when you have a quick question. Unfortunately, when the one manager left and went to the Virginia Beach location, the store took a dive in customer service. He left several years ago and this location has sucked ever since.

They have always been overpriced, thats why they are going out of business. Even @ that the prices are ridiculous compared to other places, just brought my granddaughters a moana village @ Walmart for $12.99, priced it @ toys r us for $27.99. So even when they reduce their stuff for closing the stores, even with a reduction of 50%, u will still be able to get it cheaper @ Walmart. Its hard to believe that their prices have remained so high for so long, its probably from the people that are dumb enough to think if it cost more it must be better, how foolish is that, when the same manufacturer makes all of it. They have always been greedy & it has cost them everything. As it is now they cant even take care of their workers!!!

I go in looking for bottles... I check Amazon for price match which Ive done 100 times before. I go to check out and cashier tells me that they dont price match prime items and it has to be nonprime items... Now is it just me or is Amazon not Amazon WITHOUT PRIME?!?Now remember I bought bottles. Cashier asked me four times if I needed batteries, I am not sure why when I only have bottles.Then I tell her I have $5 reward coupons from the credit card and then she asked twice if I wanted to sign up for the credit card.Bottles were 30% off making them just as cheap as Amazon or I wouldnt have bought and would have gone to greenbrier location!

In trying to return a toy I bought from TRUs through Ebay as directed by TRUs in their return instructions, the general manager treated me like I was crazy and absolutely could not comprehend that TRUs sells online through Ebay. He ignored the packing slip still attached to the box that I pointed out and asked him to examine due his ongoing display of disbelief, confusion and apparent ignorance concerning the matter. After several minutes of discussion, his response to me was he needed to make a phone call and abruptly walked away. Sometime later, one of his cashiers on her own initiative came over spoked to me, opened the packing slip and behold, there was all the information required to return the item. She completely and promptly resolved the matter and provided the refund. I hope TRUs makes her manager and reassigns him to the stock room so he cant cause any further damage to the TRUs experience that they are desperate to build with its customers.

This is very honest review about why customers are choosing to order online from Amazon, EBAY and Jet instead of brick and mortar stores. We ordered a trampoline on Toys R Us website, paid with our credit card online and chose to pick it up in store HOPING FOR AN EASY TRANSACTION :( The email we received said we should expect our order to be completed within an hour and we could pick it up in the store. Smooth and easy right? An hour and a half goes by and no email. We went by the store and went to the pickup kiosk and was told to go to customer service, which was the only check out line open in the entire store-on a weekend- with 12 people waiting in it 😳. Finally make it to the customer service desk and spoke to the employee who wanted to direct us to the kiosk again. Explained its been over an hour and 45 mins now and we havent received a pick up email yet, we are checking on the order. Several employees tried to find the order or any record of our order. We waited 20 mins or so to find out they have 3 in stock in the store but no record of our sale and WE need to call their corporate office to find out what the problem is. There are 3 employees and a manager standing in front of us and WE have to call THEIR corporate number to fix the issue. ?????? Isnt that what employees and management are for? To assist the customer with the sale. So we called and were told they were experiencing high call volume and cant help us right now. They said they would call us back as soon as they can. We waited in the store for a while and left to get a bite to eat and have been waiting for over an hour- no phone call. The sad part is this would have been faster to just go to the store and pay for it when we got there. Instead, we were put through an ordeal because of something out of our control. This was supposed to be a fun purchase, not a stressful hassel.Update... Toys R Us website was down and effected orders nation wide. The manager helped us cancel the order and then price matched the new in-store purchase. THANK YOU SIR!!

Ok. So the outside of the store is covered in signs, saying Everything 30% off. However, I literally walked up and down every isle ( even ones I needed nothing on ), and everything in the store is 10% off. With the exception of Valentines inventory, that was 20% off. Way to go Toys r Us, you managed to have the most expensive Store Closing sale EVER!!!
