One of the best place around greater Chicago area to get your hitch installation done. There work is excellent, fast and reasonable, they won’t rip you off like all the other shops around. I got my hitch installed for my Toyota Highlander and I’m very happy with the work they did. The job was done in less than an hour.

Update: Found receipt in car. Says Rewire Door Speaker Amp Bypass...None of the doors were rewired. I installed 6 speakers in car and none were rewired. All they did was, 2? Spliced wires to Bypass the amp under the seat. They didnt even have to remove any panels nor the seat, I did that work at home.

I used Mr. Kustom last summer to install a hitch for my Jeep Cherokee. The Hitch was installed properly, but I told him I was using the hitch to pull an 16 foot camping trailer and needed the electrical hook-up. Trusting their expertise, I assumed all was correct until I went to pull the trailer. They installed a 4 way trailer plug instead of the 7 way needed to operate all lights and trailer brakes, etc. I had to have my entire car rewired which costs me $1000 in addition to the $650 Mr Kustom charged for the incorrect job. He also sold me the wrong hitch receiver. He sold me a simple 2 inch ball receiver with a locking pin and charged me $80!!! Not knowing any better at the time, I paid the man.Buyer beware! Do you research and dont trust someone who can easily take advantage of you if you are not an expert yourself.

Honestly I am very disappointed, I went last week to get my windows tinted and like always they tell you to wait 3-5 before you role the windows down, so I did. To my surprise the line work where they cut the excess film off is completely butchered. The gap spacing is huge. Honestly I wouldn’t have minded the job if I didnt pay what I did. Out of respect for this company I will not say what I paid but I am very disappointed.The customer service was great but the work itself was mediocre at best.

Great customer service and fair prices

Ordered four LED projector door panel lights for my SR5 Toyota Tundra and were having them shipped to Texas. COVID-19 hit a week after placing my order on 2 March 2020. Mr. Kustom did respond to my email about when I could expect to receive my order despite the COVID-19 pandemic. I was very understanding of the situation. I just received my order on 9 May. I can say the lights were worth the wait and exceeded all expectations.Update: On 1 June, two of the four lights have developed a defect in the artwork or slides as they call them. Mr. Kustom has not remedied this problem. I contacted Rich and Steve via email on 1 June. I was told new lights would be ordered as replacements. I contacted them 3-4 weeks after 1 June to check up on things. There was never any replacement lights ordered.I contacted Steve on 27 July and he said slides were mailed to me. I asked him if he sent the slides with a tracking number. He did not use a service to track his shipment and I still have two defective projector lights. I live in a gated community and all my packages have always been delivered to include those by USPS. We have lock boxes for USPS and any FedEx or UPS packages are left at the residents doorstep. Then to assume that sending me slides was acceptable. I didnt pay $139 to have to take a part projector lights and insert the slides myself. There must have been a tutorial in that package that never arrived too on doing your job.This is the worst customer service I have ever received for any purchase. Shouldnt take over 2 months to replace 2 door lights. As a military member, Im appalled at the lack of customer service. Mr. Kustoms attention to detail is not acceptable if I have to keep calling or emailing them to replace 2 defective projector lights.28 July: Spoke with Rich and he told me to wait until Monday to see if the slides show up. Next time, dont send something in a regular envelope and not use a tracking number 🤡. I shouldnt have to wait 4 days to contact you. You said you shipped them out on 2 July after we spoke. Its now 28 July.Rich told me that a 10 year old could replace the defective slides in the projector lights. If thats true, then why did your business ship me 2 projector lights with defective slides if its so easy? This is ridiculous and mimics the type of customer service you receive at a circus.30 July: Now you want to send me a priority label with a tracking number. Should have did that the first time around. I have companies that send me flight uniform patches worth $5-$30 that are tracked. What is your lame excuse for not tracking some $10 projector slides from the beginning?11 August: Mr. Kustom received my projector lights on 4 August via USPS. I havent heard anything from this business. I was told a 2 day turn around to ship them back to me. Well, its now 11 August. The lights should have shipped out on Friday, 7 August and Im sure they are still sitting in Chicago. Yet again, Im having to update a review and send them emails. Ridiculous.13 August: Had to call because nobody responded to my email. Rich told me the USPS delivered the package of projector lights to a mailbox. They dont have a mailbox. USPS have had different delivery workers on their route. The tracking number shows delivered to a mailbox. We are at day 75 or 2.5 months since my initial complaint of 1 June.25 August: Spoke to Rich and he told me he would order new projector lights.14 September: Followed up with Rich and the projector lights were ordered, but will take a little while due to COVID-19. We are at 3.5 months since my initial complaint of 1 June.4 November: The LED lights were found, cleaned, and shipped back to me. I am waiting for the lights to arrive on Friday. Apparently, the LEDs got some debris inside them. I was told that the lights are typically sealed, but the ones for the model of my truck arent fully sealed. Makes sense. Im going to give them 3 stars to be fair. Still took forever to resolve a relatively simple issue.

This place is awesome. They installed HID headlights and a brand new horn on my Expedition. Rich was a great salesman. He even showed me how to install the HID fog lights for my truck. They look great. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is great. Will definitely come back for more additions.

Messed up wire harness for the rear hatch. Dont use right repair parts. Dont use right repair procedures. Fell apart within two weeks. Would only buy parts from this place.

I came here twice for work. Once was for having my window tints done. I will admit that they did a good job on the window tints for a good price, which is why Im giving 2 stars instead of one. I will stop there as far as good things to say. Now the reason why Im giving such a bad rating is because I had them do my cat-back exhaust on the same car, only to have the exhaust fall of on my way home from the shop!! And on top of that! These morons wouldnt give me my original exhaust back, claiming that they keep all parts that they replace. It doesnt say that anywhere in the contract I signed with them, and they completely ignored me via email and phone calls. I had to get my buddy to redo the exhaust for me in the middle of the highway, and I had to get my lawyer involved. Only to get a response saying that it was in the contract I signed, with a signature that isnt even mine!!

I have nothing but good things to say about the quality of product, packaging and customer service at Mr. Kustom. Joe was more than fantastic with the order of not one, but two custom designed puddle lights. I inundated him with questions and emails prior to the order and he answered every one promptly, pleasantly and with enough detail for me to make the right decision on my purchase.My experience was so good that I am opting to drive to Chicago to have him install more custom items rather than have a local shop attempt to do it.Cant say enough about this experience. THIS is what customer service should be like.

Had my windows tinted here, did an excellent job. When I decided I wanted them a little darker for the summer, they were very helpful and accommodating. Performed a spotless job both times. Furthermore, got a clear bra put on the front bumper, rear bumper, and side-view mirrors, due to a lot of long distance driving. I was extremely impressed at how great it looks, virtually seamless, one wouldn’t even be able to tell it’s on. Rick helped me the first time, and Joe helped me the second time, both managers. I left my vehicle with them overnight, for the second and longer job, Joe kept me up-to-date on the progress, ensuring he was easy to reach, answering all my questions and getting back to me on any pending issues. The car was done exactly as scheduled. Thanks to the guys at Mr. Kustom, and I look forward to getting in touch with you if I need any further work.

Mr. Kustom went above and beyond to meet my expectations. There are a lot of less than reputable shops around Chicago, do not count this business among them. They delivered exactly what I asked for and what they sold me, there was no haggling or shady tactics. I just wanted to say that after leaving the dealer at Mercedes Benz of Hoffman Estates I had not eve went to my 1st destination before stopping at Mr Kustoms. They did a fantastic job on my 2500 sprinter. I got a heavy duty hitch and a back up sky view camera. Im excited about all the up-fits that Rich shared with me. Also all the guys are friendly and personable and make you feel good about your investment.

I could not be happier with the price and quality of workmanship on the window tint done on my Cayenne at Mr. Kustom. As a military service member and new to the area it is difficult to find a place where they wont try and gauge or upsell you out of your socks. Had my windows tinted on my 2009 Jetta this week at Mr. Kustom. Had them do 35% and it transformed the look of the car. The manager and installer were very thorough and made sure I understood how to take care of my tint. Great experience overall and pricing was more than fair.I will recommend Mr Kustom to anyone.

Ive come here for years. Always good service. You cant beat lifetime warranty with free replacement of tint if it ever cracks, chips, or bubbles.Now thats security in your product.

I scheduled an appointment with “Mr.Kustom” [3704 W. Irving Park Rd. Chicago IL 60618] to have a 4ct Strobe Light Kit installed. When I got there, I explained to Rich who booked my appointment that I wanted 2 Strobe Lights to replace my Fog Lights, and 2 Strobe lights to replace my Back-up Lights. I waited 7 hours, paid $650, but got something other than what I wanted. Instead of REPLACING the Fog and Back-up Lights with the Strobe Lights, they mounted a Strobe Light next to each Fog and Back-up Light.WHAT’S MORE?The Strobe Lights were mounted in the wrong direction, Their idea was tantamount to someone investigating a dark room using low light, dispersed illumination, in place of high beam, precision illumination. A Wax Candle vs a Military Flashlight. UNACCEPTABLE!WHAT’S WORSE?The person who did the work on my vehicle damaged the driver side Fog Light Unit. When I reiterated what I wanted, Rich gave excuses for the shoddy job. I left disappointed. After cooling down 2 days later, I decided to give them the opportunity to make things better. So I called back. I asked Mike who took my call if I could bring my vehicle back to have the Strobe Lights re-positioned. I actually said to Mike; “When I go online to leave my review, I want to be able to say there was a misunderstanding, but Mr. Kustom was more than willing to correct it, FREE OF CHARGE”. Unfortunately, this would not be the case. I was told to call back and speak to Rich. When I did, Rich became very defensive saying I told him something else. Finally, Rich said that they could correct the work, but at a price$$$$. Bad, bad business practice!IN CLOSING!I wouldnt go as far as to say I hated this place, but if Mr. Kustom was as eager to get the job done as I wanted, as they were to take my money, the work done on my vehicle could have been awesome! This place needs a Tune Up in the Customer Service Department.Mr. Kustom alleges to have been in business for 40 years. Assuming this is true, theyre use to doing things a certain way. Make sure you keep reiterating anything you want done with this business, particularly if it isnt what they would normally do. Now, I have to pay a different shop to correct an apparent misunderstanding, AND shoddy job done.

OK, where do I start I have a Custom show bike and was looking on eBay when I came across Led puddle lights that Mr Kustom was selling online. I reached out to them and talk them about the product prior to buying. After feeling a little bit easier about the product I bought the product, and hours later contacted them about a mistake that I seen on the order. When I called I was transferred to Joe, he was on it already and took care of it. Now thats customer service, professionalism, and assuring the customer was fully satisfied. I havent seen this level of service in a longtime. I would urge everyone to consider buying from them. They will take care of you.

I had a bully bar installed today. I tried doing it myself, but had issues loosening the bumper to add on the mounts. So I gave up and let the pros handle it. The guy who runs the place is real cool and straight forward. I didnt feel upsold, even though I invested in a tow mount. His prices arent bad for the city and his team does real good work. Everyone there is friendly and real with you. Ill probably be back to invest in some other goodies for the truck.

Every time I call for a price I get a different quote even on the same item... I had them install speakers in my truck only to have Best Buy have to open back up my doors and fix their very poor install job. The screws where cheap self taping that where stripped out in the hole creating bad vibration and rattling. They also do not understand 4x4 suspensions or how to correctly set them up for usage vs. just looks. Cranking torsion bars to the max without caring for long term ball joint wear etc. It seems the only reason they are in business is because their are few alternatives in the Chicago land area to pick from.

Tell initial experience was good but I will have to stop there. I brought in my Jeep Wrangler to get a tow wench and fog lights installed a couple months back. As of 3 weeks back my dash lights were lighting up like a Christmas tree along with it not turning over due to no power. I popped the hood and realized that one of the connectors was almost off. Big very concerned I emailed them about the issue and never heard back which was pretty dissapointing. Well the issue kept on and new issues started happening. Here I am at the dealership paying a high labor cost because they didnt correctry tie down the connections to the battery which started fraying. Overall I am very upset that this was not done in a professional manor and I never received a reply back from the email. I went to Mr Kustom because of the rating they had and the hourly was not as high, but I guess you get what you pay for. I was planning on going back to get some more work but I will probably find another place to go to.

Make sure they’re writing with details all the work you agreed with them, “in written contract only” and keep that contract because they do falsely make changes on that contract if you don’t have a copy. They do overcharging you. Don’t do any verbal agreements because they will lie to your face on the date you’re going to pay them.Trust me, they’re a gang of thieves !!!

Very negative experience, I ordered a product online more than a month ago. The cost came out of my account however my order shows as cancelled. I called the store to try and resolve it and the staff there was completely un cooperative. Basically didnt care. Said basically to bad have to wait until Monday and I have already waited a month. Not a company I would recommend to anyone.
