Its okay, it seems as If all their good wigs are sold out! And youre not allowed to try on the display wigs due to covid they say. But like, why would I buy an expensive wig and not know how its gonna look on me prior to buying it? Thats a risky purchase.& also if you call for an inventory check theyll leave you on hold for 30mins til you notice theyre not coming back on the line. True story 😭🤦‍♀️

I always find what I need and they always seem to have great customer service & smiles on their faces! I can’t vouch for wigs & weaves upstairs because I don’t use those types of products. I’ve never even been up there lol

Great service in the midst of this difficult time. While I am not a fan of the whole wait outside while they fill your order thing, the gentleman and yes I said gentleman that helped me were on point. I would definitely shop there again. What I would recommend is some type of technology that allows for curbside pickup based upon your online order. Other than that, Im good!!!

Very well-stocked and organized. Staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable, unlike a lot of other beauty supply store staff personnel.

This is absolutely the best beauty supply store in the country. The staff members, men and women are friendly and helpful. During the time when you had to shop curbside, the staff was quick and helpful. If you were not sure of what you wanted, a staff member would work with you, bringing items for you to chose from. I will not buy anything until I get the opinion of one of the male staff members. The icing on the cake is, they will refund your money within 30 days unused and with a receipt, therefore, you are not stuck with something that you do not want or need. I am sooo glad they are in my community. I refuse to go elsewhere. Its like having the perfect mate, why leave? Thank you Urban Beautique

So, I went to this store Monday. I searched it out because I had heard so many good things about it. To say that I am sorely disappointed is an understatement. I walked in and was not greeted at all. Instead there was a young lady standing behind the counter arms folded and frowning. I was tempted to leave right then, but I didn’t. Down the isle I went where I encountered another young lady, seemingly doing everything she could to not make eye contact, and still no greeting. Down every isle I walked, on the first floor, looking for a particular product, which they didn’t have. Ran into a young man stocking shelves and rolling a cart, no hello, no excuse me, nothing. No one asked if I needed help finding anything or what I may have been searching for. I went to the counter where I encounter the second young lady mentioned above and I asked if there were more products on the second floor or was it only wigs and weave, she stated the latter.First of all I am disappointed at the lack of hair car products offered at this establishment. The thought that an entire floor needs to be solely dedicated to selling hair is baffling to me. I understand that there is a huge market for it but this black owned business seems to have completely left out the community of us who care for our own hair.

I’m a licensed cosmetologist and we are supposed to earn points and receive a discount. I always have in the past. I also refer a lot of people to this location. Who ever the young lady was on the register didn’t want to look up my account and didn’t want to apply my discount. When I looked at my receipt, I realized that she had not applied my discount. Nor did she look up the correct account. The name on the receipt is not my name. What’s the point of having a rewards/discount program is your lazy employees can’t even find the right account. This has happened my last two visits to this location. I probably won’t be returning. I’d rather go out of my way to the one on 77th and Cottage Grove. They have much better customer service.

Very professional staff and a great business in the community. They have a lot of options and allow there customers to give suggestions on there product needs. They make an effort to clean around there building and don’t allow customers or people walking by to be unruly. Not to mention they are black operated and possibly owned which is rare. Keep up the good work and continue to strive for great.

This place is awesome! Great selection of crochet hair. The cashier downstairs that rang me up wasnt the friendliest, but other than that I was impressed.

I like this beauty supply store actually. Im glad they have this one in the location its in. Everything is always neatly stocked and the upstairs works extremely well. Talk about organization because I literally live in this store, lol!! I know I can get all my beauty necessities from this one place. I also love that the employees are extremely helpful and just outright kind. I mean Ive never been to a beauty supply that was this perfect. Usually the person behind the counter is watching you like a hawk or not helpful at all, but not this place. I love their hours, because they really work for me when I need something at the last minute. Just a really good addition to the area.

Cool place pretty convenient and had what i was looking for, think ill be back (update) lets be clear, unfortunately i adapt to my environment, a lot of people do or even have to due to systemic racism. these stores are apparently gonna be here i buy what i like although i would love to only shop black, because i guarantee they dont live around us or shop around us at all so yes black people work for them so i just look at it as supporting the black workers paycheck, GOOD DAY😊

Unfortunately every time I go to this beauty supply I end up walking out and leaving in the store the items I really wanted to purchase. Due to a cashier just walking off and not returning or saying anything! Or ignoring me completely. I would like to know who is hiring these people who have no customer service skills! Even if your store has the best prices nothing takes the place of good customer service. With that, I took my money to another store that cost more but has great customer service...Sincerely, a customer who wants to be able to return but hesitates due to POOR!!! customer service...

I went to a beauty supply on down the street for some dream weave and it cost $40 a pack and they only had on color. I went to Urban Beautique and they had every color of dream weave and it was $20 a pack.

After calling Sistars beauty supply store on 87th street. The store that was recomended to me initially. The rep on the phone for Sistars beauty supply told me he had the braid hair but because of store policy, he could not quote me a price over the phone. I then called Urban Beautique which is much closer. I spoke with a friendly young woman that immediately asked me what colors I was looking for immediately quoted me the price and gave excellent customer service overall!!! If I am going to spend my hard earned money information is key. And the young woman that answered the phone was both helpful and inviting!!!! Cant wait to go get my braid hair from this store!!!

Wow, its a refreshing feeling to see a beauty supply store in the Bronzeville area. As a license barber, I had to settle for beauty supply stores that may have products and equipments that caters to haircare professionals like myself. Also they have an entire upstairs floor with a large range of hair for women to purchase. I was greeted with a warm welcome and the place was extremely clean and organized. The staff help me with anything I needed and they awesome offer us haircare profesdiscounts. I met the co-owner Larry and hes a great guy that passionate about what he does. There is plenty of free parking and not far from downtown, Red line, green line and lakeshore drive. They also 10 minutes from downtown so no need to travel deep in the Southside for supplies. I highly recommend this place

The humble gentleman, plus the huge variety of products, is what will keep me patronizing this business.
