All the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. My bike rental was smooth and I had no issues. The rates are very reasonable and the bikes are good quality. Im excited to use this service again when my family and friends come to visit.
Highly recommend this outfit. Busy but very personable staff. The bike was well maintained. Put about 30 miles on a Trek Sport without any issues. Offer different types of peddles should enhance the experience.
Great location and good service. The bikes are well maintained. Put 30 miles on the Trek Sport without any issues. Should offer different paddles for choices.
We rented 2 bikes. One of the bikes got a flat tire after a few miles of riding. I thought our ride was over. However, Bike and Roll came out in less than 20 minutes and gave us a replacement! The service was awesome and we were still able to enjoy a great ride on the Lakefront Path.
Nas was our tour guide and he was great! Very patient and understanding of our lack of experience. We had a blast and will be back for another tour with Nas!
Electric bikes here are awesome. 20 mile trip today was easy
Had a great tour. Vincent our guide was excellent.
They have no bikes. They are actually closed. Google needs to update the listing.
A little bit pricey but Very easy and convenient!
Bicycles are ILLEGAL in Chicago proper! This is therefore an ILLEGAL operation in the city. In the suburbs except for Oak Park, you can ride until your hearts content, but in the city, you CAN NOT ride at all. Not on the street, not in the alley, and not on the sidewalk. Operation of a bicycle in the city proper carries a penalty of up to 6 months in jail.
We had a fantastic time on the segues! Vincent was a really fun guide. You could tell he had 10+ years of experience. We came back the next day and rented a two-person bike. Great way to see the shoreline.
Haunted Chicago tour....what a great night out! Jay was a fabulous tour guide and readily shares his enthusiasm for the city. We learned so much about Chicagos history delving into the macabre! Highly recommend this fall tour.
We did the Navy Pier Segway Tour, with Jay as our guide, and it was awesome!! Very knowledge young man, and great guide. Wed highly recommend them.
I reserved a week or two before coming to Chicago. I told them I was looking to ride 40-50 miles. I asked if I could go further than the Lakefront Trail. I was told that I could and that they would give me a route so i could go further than the end of the trail. I asked for a 50c Trek because Im 54. I was given a bike that was too big for me. I could barely reach the brakes. When I asked about the route after the end of the trail I was told they had none to give me.I went north on the trail which was populated with so many walkers, runners, cyclists of all kinds and skateboarders. It was a nightmare.I think if somebody wants to tool around on a tourist bike this place is fine. If you want a decent ride on a bike that fits this is not your place. The people who work there were nice and friendly.
I rented a couple of bikes online, in advance. I picked them up at the Millennium Park location and was told that I could return them to the Navy Pier location. Great! What I wasnt told is that they will charge you $50 per bike, totalling $100 for me, that will supposedly be refunded days later for returning the bikes at a different location. I called and was told this after the fact and then told to call my bank. It could take up to a week? What if I didnt have sufficient funds in my account? What if I was planning on using that money for my vacation? Im angry. Very poor policy.
Easy bike rental spot for visitors to the area. Friendly and accommodating staff. They also offer a few different Segway tours that are fun even for locals. Try the sunset one! The tour guides are cute and know a lot of interesting history and facts about the city. They often have good deals on Living Social.
I have a Segway that Dan tunes up at least once a year. He is one of the most knowledgeable people for Segways I have ever met, and he has the utmost integrity. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone and will not go anywhere else as long as I am in Chicago.
Convenient location. Quality bikes. Lock provided but no basket
Amazing selection of bikes and biking supplies. They do carry higher end stuff, so the prices are higher than average. From road bikes to cruisers, you can find something good. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable in both helping you choose a bike and in repair. Highly recommended.
Love this place! Friendly, helpful, work with customers needs! Best way to see Chicago!
My wife and I rented comfort bikes for the day. I do a lot of recreational riding and will give these Treks 2 thumbs up. They were well maintained and easy to adjust. They came with a lock at no additional cost. And the staff was very friendly and professional.
I rented a bike here for the day. The employees were not very well-organized: after they finished up with my rental and moved on to someone else, I had to call them back to get me a bike lock. And then to point me to the bike helmets. Then when I started riding, I noticed the tire pressure was low so had to return to get them to pump up the bike. 10 minutes later when I started shifting gears I noticed theyre in need of a tune-up and some oil: the gears took 3-10 seconds to shift and squeeked. I decided it wasnt worth it to return so ended up feeling like I was riding uphill the whole time. My rental reservation also said it would include a bike basket, which wasnt available. Im short: the bikes arent well-maintained and the service isnt great. The bikes are at least less clunky than the Divvy bikes
Andre was a great tour guide!! He was very informative and very nice/ out going. Had a great time on our sunrise tour!! And very helpful cause it was everyone in our groups first time!
Great experience for the entire family. Beautiful views of the city and knowledgeable guides. Going again in Aug. Perfect for out of town guests.
This place is something I look for over 15 years.... Amazing service... The knowledge of the mechanic Dan is just out of this world....he will take care of your bike and he will make Shure you understand the causes of the problem... Simply just amazing....
Sunset Segway tour was fantastic. Matt, our guide, trained each of us individually on the Segways (it was our first time) and led us on a beautiful tour through Millennium Park, Museum Campus, and Soldier Field. It was awesome. Good exercise, fresh air, great views of the city. Amazing activity for locals and visitors alike. Really fun and safer than I expected. Tour lasted longer and went farther than I expected as well-- great value.
The Segway Tour is awesome! So much fun and you learn a little bit about the city! The Architectural tour was nice! Were doing the tour again in August
SEGWAY TOUR WITH MY MAN PETER. Wow! Peter rocked and rolled my world. Tour was spectacular. Segways were so much fun. Peter was very knowledgeable about the city and made my last day in Chicago amazing. Would recommend going early in the morning so it is not too hot and you are less likely to be stuck with another group.
Great tour. Just wish the weather was better
Purchased a Groupon for a Navy Pier Segway tour and it was awesome!! Jay was a great tour guide and Ill definitely come back next time Im in town for one of their other tours. Highly recommend!
We did the segway tour at sunset, it was great. i would do it again. Vincent and mike were our guides and they were awesome. took us to some pretty awesome spots and had nice views. i recommend it.
We rented 2 Trek road bikes the 2nd weekend in July. The bikes were in great working order and functioned really well. The service was quick and we were rolling in short order. The mechanic John seemed to really know his bikes. We will definitely rent from them again. If you plan to ride the Lakeshore Trail north be prepared for hordes of people on the path. Try south for faster riding.
I had a great time on the sunset bike and roll tour with Bridget yesterday!!! She was fun, worked hard to remember everyones name and helped keep everyone on the tour safe even the people who were having a hard time with the segways! It was beautiful and she even asks if there is something that we want to see while on the tour! It was just great! I loved having her as a tour guide!!!!
The only place of its kind in downtown Chicago. You can park your bike in a secure facility, shower, and leave your toiletries in a locker. Its perfect for bike commuters.
Rented some bikes here yesterday for a group of 4 of us. Was treated very well by the staff, bikes were in EXCELLENT condition. Prices were extremely reasonable. What a great way to tour the city! Would do it again!
Large number of bikes, convenient location.
Friendly staff, great service and good prices. Thanks
The staff here wasnt very helpful. They basically handed us the bikes and sent us on our way. They didnt provide any information on the area or a map. They didnt tell us that bikes arent allowed in the park. They didnt help with the helmets.I dont own a bike, so I dont know a lot about them; my seat was rotating side to side and I wasnt sure how to fix it. I had to go back to the place, after getting a block away, for help. The staff ignored me for 10 minutes before I finally interrupted one guy to ask for help. When we arrived, there was one other customer being helped. So, we sat down on a bench right next to register. Once the staff was done with the other customer, we were ignored. We finally flagged one of them down for help. The bikes were fine and we had a good time. Try one of the local bike places though, or maybe even another Bike Chicago location.
I & my husband had an amazing experience with Bike & Roll.Vincent was super nice & explain us very well how to use the segway. He always paid attention to everybody in the tour and made stops to make us picturesin many places. He also was a very good guide, telling us a lot of things about Chicago and all theplaces that we saw during the segway tour.I will recommend Bike & Roll to anybody!
We had a great time on our evening segway tour a few years ago! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable in Chicagos history and had a great sense of humor. We went when there were Gale force winds, but it was still fun! I would suggest and age requirement. There was a young girl on our tour, around 10 years old, who had a terrible time controlling her segway, and eventually crashed into something. She didnt speak English either. Other than that, it was an awesome experience!
Don’t rent any bike for triathlon from this place. They have a good price but the quality is really bad. Totally disappointed and brought me much pain for triathlon bike course.
Impossible to contact through the phone number. I need to verify that they carry my frame size in stock before renting online since I am short and the ridiculously long phone message just keeps repeating over and over. When I do try to select Millennium Park, the message just says, Thank You and then hangs up even though according to their recording the store should be open. If I try and select another location, it just redirects the call back to the main menu. So I guess if you are just looking for a touristy ride, and are of average height, this place could work for you, but if you are a cyclist looking for something specific for a training ride while on vacation...good luck.
Had an amazing time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we stayed off the main roads only a few crossings. The small groups are a huge plus
Not a good place to rent a bike. The bikes are old and heavy. One of our rented bikes did not ride properly and we went back to the store. The employees suddenly became quite unfriendly and did not want to give us a new one even though we had paid for them. They also gave us false information.
Great place to roller blades, climb, trampoline. A little expensive, but it is Chicago.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Bike and Roll Chicago segway sunset tour! We had never ridden segways before but they were easy to get used to and an absolute blast to ride! The tour took us on a 6 mile loop over about two hours that provided breathtaking views of Chicago at sunset. Lovely time. Maggie was a wonderdul tour guide.
We were in line for almost 30 minutes just so they can tell us they didnt have any more large quadcycles. But when my husband and I checked the back where they had all the bikes we saw 3 of them. So frustrating!!
Great service. Very fun Segway Tour
Ask for Dan the best bike mechanic
Good place to rent a bicycle
We rented a tandem from the Navy Pier location. They did not include any tools with the bike for adjustments. The tandem did not shift well and was ghosting in gears 4-7. The waterbottle cages were about to fall off the bike. When we told the mechanic at the end of the ride he appeared to be annoyed rather than fix the problems for the next customer.
I am here with family and it is written no where how to rent a bike.. it says it’s open but no one downstairs to open .. no one picks the phone .. waste of time and energy ...
Place was closed when it should have been opened at 2PM on a Thursday afternoon
A lot of fun doing the Segway tours!
Dan in repair is very helpful and knowledgable!
Service was great and quick
Very good bike
Good bikes
My go to bike trails for exercise and new bike challenges.
Incorrect opening hours
Ok bikes and overpriced.
Use the bikes
Why a $ 50 bond taken in addition to the $ 25 bike rental fee. Its $ 75 for 5h bike c shameful. A real weapon for us tourists. I hope to be reimbursed because I made everything on time ...
Great service, available in Gochicago!
Is not that an idea for many other big cities? You cycle directly into the big city. There you complete it under roof and supervision for a whole day, you can also take a shower for your work and take the rest of the way on foot. In the evening you will be back home. You stay athletic, the city stays green and you save money! TOP IDEA!
Beautiful Segway ride
