Always the finest kielbasa and a wall full of other types of Polish sausage. Cheeses, canned and jarred selections, bakery and even smoked fish. If youre getting kielbasa at the big grocers, you owe it to your buds to try some if youre in the area. The difference is lean meat. No grizzle, no specks of fat. More like seasoned pulled meat reformed into a sausage casing. The flavor is excellent. You have to try it. Born into a polish family and know my polish sausage.
Nothing like a good Polish deli! Came from Tennessee to get some real Polish sausage.
Went here for the first time since I still lived with my parents (which has been a few years!). It was nostalgic to go back! The food choices were great just like when I was a kiddo! Need to make sure to go back there a bit more often.
My favorite go to Polish store. Hams, sausages, cheeses are very good here and very reasonably priced. Other stuff, some of them straight from Poland bring memories of childhood favorite snacks. Hot buffet have good selection of dishes. In recent years English language of sales crew improved a lot.
Great place to buy polish food, very nice workers too
No frills down to earth old fashioned store with good selection of home made hams, sausages and meats. Also breads, pastries and meals-to-go... Youll find something for your sweet tooth also!
Has variety of Polish Sausages.Ready to serve baked or fried fish.Lots of chocolate s and baked goods.
My absolute favorite deli in not only Chicago, but the USA. I was born in Chicago and went there as a child and have great memories. I visit when Im in town and bring home some of the goodies only Kurowskis sells such as the polish rye breath and their Wiejiska, which is the best sausage ever. If I could give them 10 stars I would in a heart beat!
If you want to try Polish food go to this place I love it!
Good polish deli
Great spot for Polish foods. Old school feeling. Pierogi and sausage.
Polish extreme! Love, love, love this shop!
They were out of warm food. Just 3 items. It was 3pm. Disappointed
The best value on planet earth. So many sausages to choose from, all great prices. Awesome place.
Large selection of polish food including homemade sausages, bread, prepared food and bakery items.
Had the most delicious flank steak of my life, picked up from here after ordering ahead of time. Perfectly marinated and packaged ready for me. We grilled it to perfection later that day, and there were audible moans of pleasure from everyone. Thank you for the delicious meat, great customer service, and excellent quality.
Always a fine place to go for ready made soup, smoked salmon, freshly made soup, and chocolate candy.
Used to be Bacziks
Nice products but very dirty and spoiled place.
Best Polish rye bread and a deli counter that dazzles you!
My wife and I live in St. Louis, MO. We come to Chicago area couple times a year for fun. We always stop at Kurowski Sausage Shop and buy enough for a few months. We stock it in our freezer. In addition, we also buy for our in-laws. We love this shop and will always stop by every time we are in town.We also enjoy eating at Red Apple Restaurant that is just down the street before we hit the road back to St. Louis. Highly recommend Kurowski Sausage Shop.
Im from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I thought I was in Poland. This shop has everything that a Polish grocery store has in Poland. The kielbasy tastes like its made in Poland. Purchased $85 of meats here and took it back with me. I love this store.
Sausages hanging everywhere, everyone spoke polish, a true sausage shop. We LOVED it! I cant read polish but we figured it out and the Sausage is good. Regular knockers are a little bland so get the spicy because they have a lot of flavor and not burning hot taste. The prices are good, they take care of their fellow neighbors and dont rape you with high prices. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Delicious polish mustard, I got the spicy brown and cant stop eating it. The Pickles are wonderful. I am definately going back!
Been coming here since I was a kid. The deli is great. Yeah, sometimes the produce might be on the riper side but I tend to eat what I buy within a few days of purchasing so it’s not a problem for me. Gotta support the small shops that are still left in the neighborhood!
Came here in search of some good Polish Sausage. Even tho I am Polish, unfortunately I do not speak it. However when I asked the lady behind the counter if she spoke English she reverted from Polish to English for us. She told us what each of the sausages were, and gave us a sampling to try. Took sausages home and they were great, will definitely be returning for more!
Best place ever for your sausage lovers!
I thought their desserts looked nice and tried to send my bf a snap of them so he can choose which ones he wants and the woman that works in the deli area(short blond hair) said No photo in a rude way while putting her hand in front of my phone and the desserts. I asked the cashier if they had a photo policy after telling her about the other woman and she shrugged. I dont know if theyre racist or just rude but I was hoping to visit quite a bit in the future(I live in the neighborhood.) Service is important to me when shopping, so future visits are out of the question. Also, if for whatever reason there is a no photo policy, putting up a sign would be a great idea.
Excellent Polish Delicatessen and grocery store on busy Milwaukee Avenue in the Polish Village District. They dont speak English so you have to pick and point to your food. LoL !!I like the imported jars of foods and Frozen and also the pickle barrels with various pickles and another big brown barrel for sauerkraut and you have tongs and you pick them out yourself and theres another barrel of something else which I cant recall right now.Lots of desserts and 7 shelves about 12 ft long of chocolates theyre crazy for chocolates what a wide variety and I love chocolate of course Belgian chocolates are the best, but you wont be disappointed !
Great quality of sausage and meat products. Also great variety of polish food. I recommend this place.
A staple in the Logan Square community for a very long time. Best Polish Deli in the city, come here a least once a week. Their homemade kielbasa sausage is to die for with sauerkraut or in some soup!
Amazing! Would definitely recommend! And would definitely go again!
You can beat this pace. Oldest butcher in Brooklyn. Best prices and top notch quality meats. Do this.
We drive over an hour just for this particular store. Imo best Polish Sausage around and great selection of other foods also. I dont speak any Polish, and I was taken in order as I stood. If you dont speak Polish, no worries, either an employee does, or you can have someone help you in line. Been traveling to this store for over 5 years, will keep coming back. Prices are very fair compared to prices I pay in Indiana.
Not the same taste of cold meat it used to be. Time is not still, I know. I bought three kinds of sausages only one was tasty. The ham was not fresh. kaszanka was good. If you look for the old times sasauge it’s not there.Az
The place for authentic Polish sausage and delicacies. They have a great selection and the smell of sausage will greet you as soon as you walk in. It can be a little overwhelming in choosing the right sausage however the ladies will help you and assist you. Some of workers speak English you just have to ask. When its Fat Tuesday definitely come here for the the Polish paczki. (Polish donut)
One of the best Polish stores in Chicago.
Great authentic polish deli market! Great kielbasa and pierogies. Most of the employees speak polish, but are very polite and understand if you dont speak the language and work with you to get what you want (even if they dont speak English) Love going here and supporting a local polish shop!
Always Fresh. Great service. Fair Prices..
Solid local Polish market. Clean, well-stocked
Great sausage shop with a large variety of smoked and fresh traditional European sausage. Also recommend their lunch or dinner hot foods really good and economic.
Great food, awesome service
Like buying in a different country, they should put a currency exchange next door so you could buy groceries in euro(EUR) or złoty(PLN) and get the full experience. Download the Google Translate app and good luck getting what you want, but even if you wont (get what you want) - give it a shot, the chances are you might discover some authentic and unique flavors of Slavic cuisine.
Great choice of delicious kiełbasas, hams, bacons, and cheese. Also nice fresh baked bread and great selection of Polish sweets and other goods.
Came here to pick up some smoked sausages. The staff were short and not very friendly. Did not feel very welcomed after they found I could not speak their language
Been coming to Kurowskis for years now . Love the fresh Polish rye . Drive from Wisconsin here to buy breads, sausages, candies and other baked goods. Cant beat the quality and price .
I love this place!! Sausages, meat, lunch meat, fresh veggies & fruit. I dont speak polish but we somehow manage
This store used to be amazing. Not any longer. Many of the products are not fresh. Costumer service very problematic. Many of the workers make the impression as if they were sentenced to work there.Sad!!!
This place is no good food aunt right talking about the meat ❓❓❓ wont buy no more meat at all 😭
Great place! Ive been coming here for over 30 years.
Amazing prices and selection. Friendly customer service. A wonderful store. :)
Polish deli with all the basics. One of the last remnants of Jackowo.
Nice service, they even bag your groceries nice, great prices. Love it
If you want to survive dont eat from this market!!! I am 100% agree with all these one star reviews on here that say this polish grocery store is terrible and ALL the employees here are racist.I agree with you guys! If you are a polish customer then you will be fine, but if you are an American customer then you will receive a very bad customer service with negative and aggressive attitude along with their spoiled and expired foods. Please, beware!Under any circumstances do NOT buy their polish sausages because they taste spoiled and disgusting. This store is very dirty and Unsanitary. The large container with raw meats is standing right next to the bakery items(talking about hygiene here). The polish employees NEVER wear gloves.Absolutely ALL the employees in this polish store are rude aggressive and mean.Neither of them speaks a word in English or they pretend that they dont speak English. If you are American then please avoid this BAD polish store like a hell plague.
30years at the same hight level 5+,thanks.
One of the best Polish stores in Chicago. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Interesting polish place, huge variety. Clean and well organized!
A long-standing Northside deli that is well-known in the Polish community. Best to come and shop on a weeknight, as you will wait in very long lines for the deli and cashier on weekends. The different varieties of Polish sausages are Kurowskis claim to fame, but they also have fresh, barrel-aged saurkraut and pickles that you cant find in smaller places. A bit surprisingly, no hot meals to go--but theres an ample-selection of refrigerated take-and-heat soups, etc. My favorites include the extensive herbal tea selection, as well as the large section of imported cookies.
The products they carry and make are top notch and very reasonably priced. Wonderful selection. The bad news is that none of the lables are in english. They are all polish. I have suggested se eral times they label in english as well but to no avail. Most of the staff does not speak english either so be forewarned. That being said it is more than worth a stop to check things out.
Best place to buy Polish sausage in the city!
Old World Polish Deli. If you like sausage its worth driving here for excellent selection for hardwood smoked sausage. All you need is a good beer.
Food ok, cleanliness could have been better.
Great food and service, non-Polish speakers might have some issues trying to get their goodies.
Nice
Great place to get real Polish sausage.
A lot of polish products. Yummy polish ham and sausages.

Wonderful!! Candies, meats, and other delicacies from Poland! Will definitely be back!

Only polish.the best on North side
Very unprofessional staff members with negative attitudes. Nasty food products!
I loved it on my first visit
First visit, excellent selection, excellent quality, good service.

Best kielbasa in Chicago
Best in town.
Good place
True Polish stuff there.
Delicious
Best sausage in Chicago
Helllllllll yeah
It is located in a historic area where there were many Polish immigrants. It seems that the inhabitants have disappeared now, but it seems to be a remnant of the Polish shopping street where this shop used to be. When you enter, you can only hear Polish. It makes me feel like I have an assortment of items that I cant find anywhere else. The staff are busy, so its smoother to search for Polish Super Souvenirs in advance and decide what you want to buy. ¡
It is very expensive
