Best Meat Market North of the loop. Best selection for everyday and special occasionsAnything they make in-house (smoked/wrapped/cured/etc.) has been absolutely phenomenal. The Staff knows their stuff and is exceptionally helpful!They also have a shockingly diverse wine selection. A beautiful stocked fresh grocery section, and frozen supplies if you are in need of something to bring camping.The best part is the prices are absolutely reasonable given the quality. Next thing on the list is to get one of their massive tomahawk steaks.

Well worth the higher prices. Quality, service, and selection are all 5 star. The only improvement they could make would be to open another location on the north side. But, its well worth your time and effort to go here. Note that they have items available in store that are not necessarily posted on their website. This might hold you back from ordering ahead for pickup. So if you want something not on their website, a phone call might reveal that they have it in stock.

LOVE this place! An incredible array of products: delicious meats, sausages, steaks, and gourmet foods. Also some fresh veggies and grocery staples. The staff here is incredibly friendly and quick to help. Even if the lines get long it never feels like too much of a wait because there is just so much to see. We like to stop in, grab picnic foods and head to the park down the street. Will definitely keep coming back!

What is there to write about the Paulina Meat Market that hasnt been written. So the staff is very friendly & knowledgeable about the meat, seafood, pork/sausages that are sold here, and will customize any order. You can specifically ask for a certain cut or size of steak. There sausages (snausages) are the best in the city of Chicago. No one else is even close to the quality of their sausages, nor the freshness. Get your grilling, tailgating, etc., sausages here! My only knock is that it get crowded during the usual rush hours. They need to expand, to make more room for the customers and all the meat, seafood, pork, and other high end products that they sell. Pre-Covid, there were plans to expand at the location by adding a second floor. Now I am happy as hell that they are still around and selling their meats.

The only butcher in the Metro area that has Hungarian Paprika sausage…just like the sausage my Grandfather made. Well worth the trip from Alsip.

I ordered a fresh Amish young turkey online to make our Thanksgiving a little more special this year. It was pretty pricey, $70 for 12-14 lbs, but we decided it would be worth it because we have so little to look forward to right now. Excited, I picked it up, brought it home, and unwrapped it. Lo and behold, its the same turkey we bought last year at Marianos for $28. I love supporting local businesses, but the markup on this turkey is astronomical and the branding online was exceedingly misleading.

It smells so good in there. Service is always friendly, unhurried no matter how busy.

I went today, the Friday before a summer holiday, and was assisted with my list by Andy. Andy was a great help, and got the items I needed quickly. If you get there, and it is likely busy, it is easier for you to create a list of what you want from the counter and then give it to them when your number is called, than trying to remember what you wanted when they call.

Small place Huge selection! Grab a numbered ticket out of pigs mouth as you walk in and pay attention it’s usually busy so they will call numbers rapidly. Person behind the counter was very polite and informative about the Turducken I picked up. I went in on a Saturday afternoon and I don’t mean this to sound negative but it looked like hipster heaven in there; not because of the workers but rather the customers :-)

Definitely one of the top 5 butchers in all of Chicagoland. They have great hard-to-find cuts like fresh veal liver, veal tomahawks, wagyu, buffalo, elk. Their meat is more local than Whole Foods (eg their lamb is from Colorado).

Pack your own meat. Ive been going here for years and its quick and easy to get as much as you need by the pound. Cold inside because its needed to keep the meat fresh. If you live in Chicago you must come here for your meat.

I am a huge fan of customer service because without good customer service you will lose customers. If you do not help accommodate your customers when in need you will also lose customers. The best butcher shop in Chicago, bar none. Its not cheap, but if you want the best beef or pork that money can buy, this is the place. I am obsessed with their hanger steak and skirt steak in particular. If you havent had a hanger before, go try it out.

And it has that beautiful smell of a quality smokehouse (a reference to scent, not smoke -- the air quality is wonderful). Id been looking for authentic Portuguese linguiça for years and recently discovered that they make it! The linguiça makes the caldo verde taste great and reminds me of Lisbon. Fantastic selection of meats, cold cuts and sausages. This is truly a meat lovers paradise. Great for that prime ribeye for grilling in the summer. There is veal sausage, duck sausage, and several kinds of Italian sausage, both cooked and uncooked. Also a great selection of smoked meats.The Brazilian cut picanha, it is also available here, they call it rump cover and it is fantastic. You can always get it frozen, but with growing popularity it is available fresh as well. More recently, they have started offering wagyu as well.The staff is very knowledgeable about their product, and can help you select the right meat and provide some tips on how to best cook it.As you would expect, the prices are above what you would pay at Costco or your local grocery store, but you cant find this quality anywhere else.

I have been coming for so many years; makes me feel like coming home. Its fun. A stand alone in an area that used to have several old German style butcher shops. Paulina market caters to current times, and those dark primal tastes. Yum.

Pretty bad customer service, I ordered the week before Thanksgiving so I get they are busy. The order I made online which was supposed to be delivered wasnt because they stopped deliveries after I already paid. I called in and they informed me I had to pick it up after waiting like 20 min I flagged someone down only to find out they were out of my order that I had called a about. Food might be good here I will never know

Buyer beware!!Due to the popularity of Paulina Market, on December 23rd I bought a full loaf, vacuum sealed package of Leberkäse to cook for my New Years Eve guests. To my surprise when I unsealed the package, the Leberkäse had changed color and had a rotten smell. When I called today (Store closed weekends), I was told that there was nothing that they could do to help me with my problem. The man on the phone just told me that it was unfortunate that it went bad (even still sealed in their packaging!). Disappointed to say the least. Maybe if I were a regular customer that they knew by name I would have been treated differently. Guess my money doesnt spend as well as their regular customers.

The quality of the meat and poultry is second to none. I have been coming here for about 2.5 years and I realize it gets very busy. My wife called ahead and placed an order on the phone to be picked up today. When i went to the cashier to ask where I go for phone in orders he gruffly replied take a number. Now there had to be 25 people waiting with numbers. It is labor day weekend.So i said to the fellow why did I call in my order. Whats the benefit? He replied with the snooty answer that is up to you. If they encouraged customers to call in orders ahead of time it would be more efficient for them. They could have one cashier and area for all pick ups. This would be improve customer service by a mile and at the same time help them be more efficient. Eventually indifferent customer service will catch up and negatively effect your successful business. It always does.Get with the times!

They abruptly shut down for remodeling for a month. Their customer service has been beyond disappointing during the crisis. Id love to do business with them but with hours that dont make sense messages that dont match what it says on the door, Ive made 5 trips to their store in the last 4 months and was able to buy something from them zero times.Theyve always had good products but this is poor management.

They will definitely steer you in the right direction to a lovely home cooked roast, bragging rights BBQ or the perfect sandwich. After recently moving to Chicago, I was blindly on the hunt for a Friendsgiving turkey. I decided to try Paulina Meat Market after talking to some coworkers and I’m thrilled with my choice! It was such a pleasant experience from ordering online, the ease of picking it up/interactions with staff and the turkey itself! My friends raved about how good this turkey was - and I was pretty impressed myself :) can’t wait to go back to try other products and for my turkey next year!

Paulina is more than a butcher shop, its an institution. If theres a better butcher in Chicagoland Ive yet to find it.

I ordered Imperial Wagyu Ribeye Steaks for 6 people.The steaks were all tough and flavorless.I complained to Paulina.They tasted and said they were properly cooked, and tasted as they should.But all 6 people said they were not good, and could not finish them.Paulina would not consider any adjustment to me.We all feel it was an inferior product. As it sells for $60 a pound there should not ever be any question about the quality.This is not how a reputable business should stand behind its products.I think maybe Paulina is not the same business it has been in the past.

Paulina is the best butcher-store in Chicago. Their selection of meats is phenomenal and they are always the best quality. I love their frozen products as well. Soups are especially delicious. They have a great variety of international products. You can even find escargots shipped from France (yummyy)!! The guys who work here are always very kind and experts in their field. The staff is totally professional and customer friendly. The products, both prepared and in the meat counter, are top drawer. In four years we have not found a single negative. We love to go there and always find more than we went to purchase. Never a regret!

Paulina Market is phenomenal. The butchers are very knowledgeable and helpful, and the meats are by far better than any grocery store. I’ve purchased brined turkey, ham, top sirloin roast, Hungarian sausage; all of them excellent. If you want to ensure a wonderful meal for a party and not stress about how it’ll taste, purchase your meats here. Period.

Best butcher in town. The staff is always friendly and helpful with questions. It can get pretty busy (especially around holidays) so if you’re just walking in, be prepared to wait a little bit. Luckily they typically have some samples out so it eases the pain of waiting :) plus the product is always well worth the wait! Highly recommend their firecracker brats as well as their jerky.

These are challenging times for all stores, no doubt, in attempting to resolve the social distancing demands, while still offering options for online otherwise hard to make choices (items like the ones this market carries are inconsistent by nature). I wish Paulina the best, but compared to other Chicagoland stores (e.g. Genes Sausage, in Lincoln Square), their present limited options are/will be turning people away.

Best butcher in town. The red meat is always top notch and the sausages are done well with seasonal varieties. The staff is great and have been there for years. They know their stuff and always provide great suggestions for a good cut based on what you want to make. A little pricey but you get what you pay for.
