Nice store, good service.Stopped for ice cream, it seemed to me like the place wasnt as clean as it should.Ordered a waffle cone with two flavors. The cone broke mid way a I had to use my hand to catch it and it made a mess. The ice cream was good though.

Some of that candy was hard like a rock that should be soft another words it was old some of the bands where you take out the single candy like the root beer sugar-free candy was all stuck together in one big glob. Highly unlikely I will ever visit that store again!! Well just have to go back to nuts on Clark.

THE. NICEST. STAFF. The only downside to this store is the choice paralysis youre going to experience. I bought some chocolate-covered caramel Oreos (didnt know those were a thing), both milk and dark chocolate, both delicious. I typically haunt Amys and Katherine Annes when Im in town, but Windy City Sweets is worth adding to the rotation. Plus, theyre on a great street to just browse around while you work off the sugar rush.

We went for ice cream - had a large variety of flavors and more than just the classics that were actually good! In addition, is an adorable little shop in the heart of Lakeview with tons of options for sweets and candies. Definitely will be returning again!

First, I’ll just say I’m very disappointed that I let myself live 41 years without Waffle Bark in my life. This stuff is amazing. It’s crispy waffle covered in milk chocolate (dark available too). I am super impressed. The service and staff are also a highlight. Super friendly and helpful. They joke around and are super chill. What a great little sweet shop!

This place is amazing. So many options for your sweet tooth. They are always very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I was able to get a bunch of candy for Xmas for my friends. They had everything that everyone liked so I only had to make one stop. Would highly recommend in the summer for their ice cream and shakes as well. Definitely check them out if you have a craving for something sweet.

The ice cream was good but the man checking me out saw my deadname on my debit card and was loudly announcing it, saying that he liked it. when i told him i didn’t go by that name anymore and am in the process of changing it legally, he kept asking me why cause my legal name “was so nice, why would you do that”. i was kind of caught off guard because i saw that there were bottles of jelly beans filled with trans flag colors and this is a pretty liberal part of chicago, but i didn’t want to loudly announce that i’m trans in the middle of a store. i know he was trying to make conversation but i was just really uncomfortable the whole time. just. don’t ask people why they’re changing their names. i dont want to put myself in front of people i dont know

There candy might be a lil stale but overall pretty good service. We got sweet tarts chewy that were absolutely stale n hard as a rock. Our other was fresh and good.

Warm atmosphere in the shop, passionate and friendly clerk. Got two scoops of ice cream and they are delicious, especially the apple pie one. The apple chunk in the ice cream was just on point! Definitely gonna visit again.

Great selection of candies ranging from my childhood favorites (Double bubble bubblegum, licorice strings, candy cigarettes) to home made Turtles (milk and dark cholate) Smores, gummies, jellies, and old fashioned fudge. They also have a good selection of ice creams. You can spend a lot of money, but its worth it. I was disappointed that there was only a narrow selection of filled hard candies, but this saved me some money and cavities 😁.

Randomly stopped by this place a couple of days ago as I spotted it from a bus window and thought it looked interesting. Worth it! Brings a wave of nostalgia when you walk in the door. Many rare and discontinued candies available. After we finished picking out our items, we needed assistance getting things behind the counter. A gentleman who was on his way out the door set his things down and helped us...it was the owner of the store, providing excellent customer service! A wonderful, whimsical place!

Windy City Sweets will remind you of the candy stores you grew up loving!They have packaged sweets, candy by the pound, handmade delicacies, packaged gelato and ice cream by the scoop. There are at least 10 different ice cream choices and you can have it on a cone, in a dish, a shake or a sundae. There is also outdoor patio seating so you can enjoy your treats.

Great place for your sweet tooth. Young staff and Mgr are all great. Love this place. All.is fresh and delicious. Kids absolutely love it and the have quality ice cream to eat now or take home. They have all the older candies to bring back memories from our younger years too. Wonderful place.

I come here at least once a week! I love the awesome staff that works here. Even better, these guys make a lot of their chocolate in shop. I always get the chocolate covered graham crackers when I visit! I really love their fudge as well. It’s very rich and oh so delicious! When I first walked in, it was as if I was in a dream! Every candy ever made right in front of me, hand dipped pretzels, homemade truffles, turtles, and toffee!!!! Even had vegan and sugar free options for my sister-in-law and grandma to divulge!!! John and Peter had so many great recommendations and really made me feel like I was the only customer in the store even though it was packed! The Oreo hand dipped pretzel is out of this world!!!! I went in here with my boyfriend to get chocolates for my mom. The elder man behind the counter kept trying to hustle me. It actually impacted me to the extent that I ended up buying less chocolate than I would have. Additionally, I made it pretty clear what I was looking for because I kept asking to look at DARK chocolate truffles. Then the guy tried to show me all this junkie milk chocolate. I really wasn’t impressed—especially when I was asking for something so specific. At times it also felt like he was messing with the prices throughout the time I was picking them out. I really don’t think it was worth his unusual sales tactic. He didn’t need to hustle me!! I was going to spend money regardless.

I’ve never had anything bad here- from smoothies to ice cream to chocolate to fruity candies. The chocolate is high quality and reasonably priced for being made in house. The cookies and cream chocolate is to die for! The bulk candy is a little pricier but worth it for the nostalgia experience.I go in at least once a week just to explore and usually I or my partner walk out with some kind of treat. The employees are friendly and helpful, happy to recommend something to you if you want but also are really good about just letting you wander after greeting you. Even if you’re the only one in the store, they understand you need time to roam and experience this whole place!

Delicious ice cream and service that feels like home. Got a piece of hazelnut filled dark chocolate, my dad got a turtle sundae (not on the menu, but the staff put it together anyways!) I also love the decor, the atmosphere is kid friendly and colorful. I like just being in the store.

Huge ice cream. There is a good variety of flavours to choose. I got a waffle cone and it was too big to finish, sincerely I finished it, I did a last effort to enjoy it to the end. The price is good, around 5$ per cone. They are open until late, good for after dinner ice-cream

I love their ice cream selection 🍦🍨🍧 Great variety of both of ice cream and everything sweet, super nice staff and theres an outdoor seating area if you feel like sitting out or have your pup with you. I had a Treasure Island waffle cone and while Manny kept it simple with a Puppuccino.

The only thing I ever get here are the filled soft black licorice tubes. I can eat a whole bag. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

Huge variety of candy and some of it is made right in the store! I am guessing my Son could have spent an hour and $100 picking out just the right pieces, luckily we only had about 5 minutes. He liked watching them make the candy right in the back of the store. It was too hot for us to take chocolate walking around, so we had to eat that inside. I have never seen such a large variety of Malted Milk Balls - which are some of my favorites.The staff was very friendly and directed us to the nearest train stop to get back downtown when they saw I was trying to look it up on my phone.

I was drawn in to the store through the huge window display of delectable treats calling my name. Once inside, I was like a kid in a candy store, hopping from display to display wondering what to get! In the end, I settled for a peppermint ice cream cone and a seat at one of the few tables inside. I sat down, devoured my cone and went back in time imagining a simpler life fun of treats and sunshine. This is a great local business to support on Broadway!

Incredible variety of candy! Anything you would want, they have in pounds. Some is prepackaged and imported, while others are in jars and weighed for purchase. I really enjoy the dark peppermint bark and the 8 types of chocolate-covered Oreos.

As good as it gets as far as variety. Youre guaranteed to find something you want if you stop by. Only wish the caramel apples werent seasonal!

Highly recommended Windy City Sweets if youre looking for good dessert in Ktown. The staff are friendly and parking is free. The interior is very Instagram-able as well .

I cant usually get excited about ice cream, but the stuff they make here is AMAZING! My favorite is the espresso chip flavor that has ground-up coffee bean bits--yum!

I go in to Windy City Sweets once a week for two reasons. High quality products, & genuinely friendly help & kind words from all staff.

The review title says it all. Theres plenty of variety on the candy. The ice cream is nothing to write home about - pretty standard stuff, but they have a series of elaborate cones that are really stand out. I especially like the SMores cone, which contains a bunch of chocolate and marshmellow. Its about $2 for the cone alone, but well-worth it.
