My first time in Gaslight and the latte was great. Tables were comfortably spread out and a lot of natural light. What gets this place 5 stars for me was “More Songs About Buildings and Food” by the Talking Heads was playing in its entirety. I was getting my coffee to go but decided and sit and listen until the album was over. Thanks for a perfect Saturday morning!

My friend and I went to this coffee shop after our gym session. The mood is upbeat and youthful. The serving is fine and worth sharing for such a low price. We felt very at home here, it was the perfect place for relaxing. Furthermore, the whole team is friendly and attentive. It is strongly recommended that you visit the coffee shop!

Ive visited this place a few times lately, take out for now due to Covid-19, their lattes are good and strong, no need to get an extra shot for me. The chocolate croissant was awesome, crispy in the outside and soft inside. Can seat outside and there is paid parking on the street. Will come back again.

The frosting on the cake I ordered tasted like it was made of butter rather than margarine. When you eat it, it has a dense texture rather than a smooth one. But I went there mainly to get coffee, so I had three cups. Aside from that, Im not a coffee addict. There was no sugar, just plain coffee, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had a great time here!

Awesome! Just AWESOME! This cafe/space is unlike anything Ive encountered yet! Its super clean for being such a busy spot first and foremost. The barista was such a kind hearted and laid back gentleman. The cold brew was DELICIOUS!!! Some of the best Ive had since I started visiting different cafes in Chicago! Ill be back for sure!

They say the outcome of the week depends on how you start it so I decided to jumpstart the first official business day of 2020 by visiting this attractive coffee shop. It looked tiny from the outside but when you step inside it doesnt feel that way. Youll instantly feel the coziness and comfort because of its simple and homey interiors. The coffee also is so addictive! I so love the taste! You can bring all your friends here.

Very cool environment to work or hangout. You can sit at a bar or at a table. Lots of seating, but there are a lot of solo people that frequent this place and take up seating. The coffee tasted great and the breakfast sandwich I had was delicious. Definitely a great place to grab coffee or a snack.

Really nice place. The Gaslight special (?) was awesome. Highly recommend. My cortado looked nice, but was just ok. Something was off with the coffee itself. Seemed too bitter or something.. like the taste of coffee that cooled down (without being cold) - just kinda harsh, not smooth.. couldn’t quite put my finger on it, and I drink a ton of espresso and mixed drinks. Highly recommend the place regardless. Very hipster. Great staff.

Oh, my! This coffee shop was good to stop over and visit! I came here a couple of weeks ago. The coffee that the waiter served to me was ashy and caramel. I like it so much. It must be my first time here in your shop, but I greatly have quality time. Also, I loved the attitudes of the waiters. They wore a smile when they served customers and entertained us well. Besides, I felt comfortable and relaxed when I was around this shop. Thank you!

I frequent this place for many reasons, coffee quality, productivity (work or school), early Sunday dates and hanging out with friends. They have Do Right pastries and some savory options. Plenty of seating and people watching by busy Milwaukee street.

Unfortunately the owners of gaslight tend to rip the rug out from under their employees. gaslight, ironically, did not handle their employees with care throughout the pandemic, & its turning out to be much worse than it seemed.

There we were stuck with a four hour layover at O’hare. Looked for a coffee shop / roaster off the blue line and happened pick the right one. The staff were dressed up for Halloween and were super friendly. Friendliest people in all of Chicago. My goodness. Grabbed a “spooky wrap” and a drip coffee of heavenly quality. Worked on some homework. People watched. Just hung the heck out. Great time. Get over there. Check em out.

Best shop for just straight coffee. The roast is so good. I cant even put my finger on what makes it so insanely good, but it is. If you come here to buy a cup of coffee or a bag of beans, it will be amazing.

Gaslight is a great little roastery in Logan Square. the staff was friendly, prompt, and adhering to safety protocols. they have an interesting spot on one of the diagonal street corners, with limited, spaced area for sitting with your takeaway. Im really glad that they had a stock of natural/unwashed beans. there was only one type, but thats one more than the vast majority of other places selling coffee. I strongly recommend Gaslight if youre looking for natural coffees.

In all of the coffee shops that I have been to, they have the best coffee. They have a really good team, too, and thats a plus point.

Its so huge! and has a very rustic vibe, with the exposed brick walls and aged wood floors and tabletops. the space is quite bright thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows at the front and the whole shape of the place is spiffy due to it being on an acute angle street corner. the baristas are also super friendly coffee-lovers and they play proper coffee shop music that i can begin to appreciate.

Amazing coffee, great vibe, friendly people. The only downside is that it’s very popular so you might not be able to find a seat. I will definitely return when I’m in the area.

I was really shocked that their lentil stew was SO GOOD!!! Id love to have their recipe for it :) Way above cafe level of food.The matcha crumbs buttery cake was very good too, really nice flavor of matcha, heavy buttery cake, but not too dry at all.Good quality regular brewed coffee of course.The place was a bit cold for being in the 30s degree outside, maybe the back door was open.

This is a cool local coffee shop that has done a good job of staying open during the COVID-19 pandemic. They limit the number of people in the store and keep you separated while waiting in line. You can order inside the store unlike other coffee shops that make you order online. They also sells bags of whole-bean local coffee which is a huge bonus for me. Their lattes are high quality and have definitely surpassed my expectations. I’ll be returning to gaslight coffee in the future as my go-to coffee shop in the Logan Square neighborhood.

The coffee is great and they make a mean oatmeal. However we all know it’s about the ambiance. It’s dystopia barnwood minimalist, perfect for a coffee shop. Perfect for you makeshift office denizens.

Vegan soft serve.As much as Id like to end the review there, Id be missing too many noteworthy reasons to try Timeless. Their staff rules! Their cheesecake is the best around. The play Morrison regularly. What more could you want?But seriously, vegan soft serve! Its amazing and creamy.

Amazing! Excellent coffee and so many vegan pastries! Try the eggnog donut if its in season. Whole pies and cakes also available. Customer service was on point. There was a line out the door but it moved quickly and our order came out really fast.

One of the best coffees that I drank in Chicago. The menu is quite simple, but the quality of the products is making the difference. I had a double espresso ( a single origin Peru ) and a cold brew... I liked both and I give em 5* for the simple fact that all the coffees are roasted locally and the staff is paying attention when they prepare the recipes. Thumps up, guys ! 🤟🤟

The coffee and the food is fantastic!! Was waiting for car repair and walked over to Gaslight for coffee. Broke up with my regular coffee place the next day, and wont be going anywhere else. Whoever rated their food or coffee poorly, must have been on drugs. :)

Best place to buy whole beans to take home or espresso. The espresso is some of the best in Chicago, and the drip coffee is good as well. There are no pour overs, which is odd. Nevertheless, solid coffee choice!

I would not recommend this coffee shop, and hope the owners see and address the behavior I experienced. I visited while on vacation in Chicago about two weeks ago. After placing my order with the cashier, who I thanked, tipped, and chatted with, upon walking away to wait, I immediately heard the barista say word for word, I dont know... Seems picky. Didnt even look me over.. Shes cancelled. My cappuccino was made in under 30 seconds. What I received was this very strange milky cup of coffee with a piece of soggy bread (croissant?) in it. I was disgusted and very unhappy. I do not plan to support this business in the future and have already warned friends/shared my experience. Totally unwarranted and disgusting.

The breakfast here was Excellent and staff so friendly, mid morning cakes and coffee yummy, the staff work really well and cant do enough for there customers.

Open feel to the building. Even with numerous windows it didnt feel bright. The vibe was subdued almost to the point of somber. The brewed coffee was good for the price. There was nothing posted about the brewed coffee of the day to inform me about its origin or blend.

Gaslight is a super hipster coffee shop. Hipster often means that the service that you get can be very hit or miss. It’s probably not the greatest when your guests feel a bit intimidated to come into your shop because they’re worried that they’re going to be judged the whole time.On the other hand, their coffee is very good. It still doesn’t really excuse their service though.

There are other coffee shops in Logan Square that feel more welcoming than this place. It’s a big room with enough tables to work at, but it doesn’t feel right for my work style. Also: no pourovers....they’re working on their drip game? 🤔 It’s pretty good coffee if you’re getting it to go.

Top notch local coffee shop in Logan Square. Beans are roasted on the premises and deliver consistently high quality cup of coffee in the shop and at home. Staff are friendly and make an effort to get to know the customers. Would also recommend their baked goods and the brunch menu for some classic favorites with a gourmet twist. Come early on the weekends if you want a table, or be prepared to wait since its a popular place to meet and work.

More than anything else, drip coffee or the coffee of the day can indicate how good a coffeehouse really is. The one I had was really good - as winelike in taste as youd expect from their description - and not in need of any adulteration with cream or sweetener. Prices are a tad steep, but its an independent roaster. Theyve gotta make money somehow.
