They were very accommodating of our Vegan needs! 🙏 I got a Matcha Latte and turns out their Matcha Latte is plant-based to begin with 😍 I had always enjoyed Intelligentsia anywhere in the world ❤️ turns out they’re from Chicago! They said this was the second or third location?It’s definitely more grab & go city style compared to the Abbot Kinney location, but I definitely had no complaints about their menu.

I am not a huge Coffee lover although spend a fair amount of time at Starbucks. I will say that Intelligentsia makes the best mocha latte I have ever tasted. Nothing even comes close. My wife felt the same about her coffee.It is probably good that I dont live in Chicago since so much of my paycheck would be spent here.

More fun visiting Chicago. Intelligentsia was the coffee house that turned me on to lighter roasted, single origin coffee about 14 years ago. If you still think that a dark roast, starbucks style, is good coffee, try something new and better. I travel with coffee beans, a hand grinder and a french press but I was running low on beans. Made a quick stop here today to pick up a (very) freshly roasted bag whole beans. Always nice to visit a store that feels like an old friend!

Coffee was good. Workers weren’t overly friendly or inviting which is chill. Couldn’t really hear the cash register person talking. I liked the bi glad though and it was decently priced. They ran out of pastries which makes sense for a Sunday morning/ closer to afternoon.

I stumbled across this fantastic coffee shop by chance. Leo, one of their outstanding assistants, handled all of my requests. He was really kind, supportive, and helpful. From the outside to the inside of the shop, it has a nice interior. I did not make a mistake in visiting this place. So, thank you very much to everybody!

Not Starbucks but a COFFEE SHOP, there is a vividly distinct difference (as I gnash my teeth). Before we arrived this was a place I wanted to go. The Baristas are sweet, lovable, kind, helpful & patient and know how to make a damn good tea latte. I also went Friday morning & the drip is grand too! If you dont know Jesus, you need to know this coffee shop. It may garner some grace to allow you entrance into The Kingdom🙏🏻 I appreciate you ALL! 😍

The coffees and hot chocolates they had was so delicious. The owner was so welcoming and friendly. The place was so cozy. The decorations were so cute.

Overrated and the workers are smiling some days, and rude on others. The pastry selection is mediocre, I expect a higher quality of offering. They better get it together because Starbucks are opening all around then. I dont particularly like Starbuck ls but the other sheep will flock there.

I know Intelligentsia has awesome coffee but this time we ordered Hot Chocolate as well as we have guest visiting Chitown and we needed a breather. We were all blown away by the Flat White and Hot Chocolates we ordered, real coffee and real chocolate in our drinks, nothing but the best ingredients and great skills by the barristers!

Very good coffee here with a wide selection of whole beans bagged and ready to take home. Small indoor area with a little bit of seating. A few seats at the counter make up for a somewhat small space.

The ambience and ambiance of this coffee shop are quite relaxing. The barista is a true expert, as seen by his outstanding latte art. It was a fantastic service that I would recommend to all of my friends. A absolutely ideal setting for unwinding and sipping a cup of great coffee. A highly recommended coffee store!

Definitely a high end coffee place. A normal coffee is not nearly as costly. A matcha latte can set you back $7. However, I must say that it was good and flavorful. Would recommend giving yourself sometime to wait in line as well. Should definitely stop by if your a coffee enthusiast

Kind staff. Automated pour overs. Nice artwork, but vibe is just okay. For a 15 dollar coffee I didnt have a card with story included- like shops in Cali provide. Underwhelming experience. Still neat to visit Intelligensia!

I loved this little coffee joint in the middle of a busy Chicago street. It was very close to the subway station and was kinda hip. Nice and cozy, good service. You can walk up and order a latte and wait. Limited seating bar style as well as a few tables. The glass windows have a good view of the street and the coffee is great. They have restrooms. They got some good coffee - own brand for sale in the store along with a limited bakery selection. The service time is average and usually there is a crowd. Nice place to grab a quick cup of coffee that isnt Starbucks.

They serve great coffee here, some snacks like croissants and pies, bottles juices. There are also shelves with coffee beans, coffee cups, T-shirts, teas and coffee making devices.There were many people working on the laptops, but I havent noticed the sockets. The music is calm and quiet, so I would say here is rather a working atmosphere. This place definitely attracts a trendy crowd.

Deeply disappointed! For $22 per pound, youd think they could give you what you paid for. The El Diablo Dark Roast is actually a typical light roast with a sour taste. Incredibly the Black Cat Classic Expresso is even lighter. How could they get it so wrong? I searched their website for customer service and finally found an email; I wrote to them, but have received no response (double disappointed). If you had a similar experience, please post here to warn others and let Intelligentsia know that they need to try their own coffee and that their customer service needs to respond!

Great atmosphere, great tea, great coffee. I ordered an herbal tea that was wonderful. My chocolate croissant was tasty too! Staff was friendly and the vibe is upbeat but not too crazy. The place was crowded at 9 am on a Tuesday, but it’s a good place so that’s to be expected. $2 coffee beans on Tuesdays!

I absolutely LOVED this coffee shop. Amazing environment, kind staff, and exceptional coffee. I purchased a cappuccino and it was fantastic. It was the perfect blend of foam with smooth espresso.My husband and I went back the next day to try lattes and they were beautiful. I really enjoy the aesthetic of lattes, but most importantly lattes need to be hot and that you can taste the espresso, not just the milk. This place impressed me with their consistency.Can you please have a location in Indianapolis?!

No matter how long I’m in Chicago I ALWAYS have to stop here. Probably the single best coffee shop I’ve been to in any city. The quality of the espresso is just out of this world. If you’re in the mood for a sugary drink they don’t dump a bag of sugar in it like Starbucks does. Really cool setting and staff is always nice.I’m usually just a plain cappuccino guy but I tried the Angeleno (pictured) which is basically an iced vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso I believe and it was PERFECT.

Only cash payment. Not COVID, just coffee for rich people. And tip?? For what??? Handing me a coffee isnt table service. Great coffee 👍👍

Love the coffee here. Intelligentsia does A great job not only serving a great product, but making sure their employees are educated on the product. They also offer a plethora of different coffees from different countries. They didn’t amazing job of getting large lines in and out very quickly.

Wow! The line out of the door on a Saturday morning should have been enough of an indicator, this place is AMAZING!The tea, coffee and pastries were all exceptional. They mean business when it comes to doing things to perfection!

Best quality and best service in all of Chicago. There are dairy free options for the lattes and all of the coffees are superbly roasted. I tried the Chai Tea Latte and it is the best I have ever had. Highly recommend trying intelligentsia

I like the lean coffee menu they have compared to the bloated menu of starbucks. Lets the baristas actually craft the beverage properly vs rushing and juggling 100 different drink options.

There are not enough tables, if you are looking for a complete breakfast this is not the correct place, they do not receive cash so be prepared with your card, the only thing that worth it is the coffee, there are better places to find a good breakfast

This coffee does not disappoint. Plenty of options, quick service, and indoor and outdoor seating thats perfect for people watching. Years ago I used to study inside at the same location and was happy to see that the setup hasnt drastically changed.

I am not into coffee, but I was invited here by one of my colleagues. I was persuaded when I looked at the menu, so I ordered one for myself. The food was delicious and the workers were very helpful and polite. The atmosphere was very relaxing and cosy. The coffee was outstanding and super delicious. Im going to suggest it and visit it again!

Not really sure what went wrong with our order but when asked if we wanted creamer in our coffees, powder creamer was added to our iced drinks and there were chunks of it floating at the top of our drinks because it wasn’t mixed in properly. Coffee itself tasted fine

The staff were SUPER helpful and fun to talk to! They really give the location a great atmosphere. The coffee itself was pretty decent, but finding good seating will be a challenge because it fills up fast. My only complaint was that the bathrooms were kind of gross.

TLDR: found my slice of home in Chicago 1 best coffee yet!Found this little gem while strolling the streets. They knew what a flat white coffee was and man did they nail it!Amazing flavor, perfect milk and a lovely rich aroma.Worth checking out however it was a little busy when I went, so just plan ahead!

They pour a perfect shot! The staff knows their stuff and the coffee is outstanding. 4stars here due to lack of room to move when it’s very busy.

Coffee was really good - dont get me wrong - but my cappuccino was really quite miniscule. The coffee was smooth, dark and was complimented really nicely by the milk and thus the foam in it, but by no means was there enough. I got about 6 ounces of cappuccino for my purchase.... thats nothing.

Not a place for a quick, cheap cup of coffee, but the price matches the quality. My pour over was fantastic and the staff were all very nice nice. Definitely recommend if youre looking to indulge.

Five stars for the excellent service! I was so happy with the taste of their cappuccino and their red velvet cake. The taste was so delectable and satisfying. The service was so fast, and it made me impress with them. I couldnt ask for more from them! They are the best! Strongly recommended to everyone!

Great work spot for several reasons. 1) the music is low key 2) the overall noise level is conversational 3) there are areas to stand and work as well as sit 4) staff is friendly but not intrusive 5) coffee is obviously fantastic... its Intelligentsia for goodness sake. 6) there are bathrooms 7) room temp is comfortable even though it is darn cold at the moment. Enjoy!

Intelligentsia is a must stop for anyone into third wave coffee. Beautiful and small shop with tons of whole bean selection. This particular location is very busy, but usually I can get a seat. They do Chemex and Pour Over coffees, single origin espresso, and it’ll be served in a for here mug if you’re staying. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. You get $3 towards a beverage if you purchase a bag of coffee!
