Lovely little coffee shop. The workers are polite and very knowledgeable. The donuts looked really good and are priced a little over $3 each. I had the espresso and thought it was great. Priced reasonable too ($3.50). One thing to note for now, a face mask is required upon entry.

My first intro to Metric was through my trade coffee subscription. Yep it was so good that we made a point to come and check it out in person on our next trip to Chicago! The whole bean coffee selection and quality of this place might be the best in Chicago. The quality of my cortado was solid and overall experience just made us so satisfied. They are doing things well! Give ‘em a try.

This has become my go-to coffee shop. I dont even live anywhere near, but I will drive through terribly congested Chicago traffic to get my latte here. This a quick cool spot for commuters and those working in the area. There is a small patio out front, no indoor seating though.The apple pimento croissant was to die for!!! I was skeptical of the pimento but it somehow worked. Also the hazelnut croissant was really good and filled with chocolate/ Nutella like spread.We both got cortados made with coconut milk. They were alright, a bit bitter but the espresso was tasty.

Ordered a latte and mocha which were tasty but the temperature of them was not hot, felt like it was already cooked down where I had to drink it way to quickly. Especially for a cold day today that is 45 degrees I really was hoping for a hot hot coffee. Little disappointed in that, and no garbage can outside for waste when done eating outside on their front seating area. Pastries were very good though! Cinnamon churro like pastry and the everything pastry with bacon were great

This place is has great flavorful coffee. The croissant with egg and cheese is delish. The place is really small so when ordering theres going to be a line. For someone from Texas it was a little too chilly to sit outside where they have a little patio.

Delicious, high quality coffee. The donuts were unique and werent too in your face which I appreciated. I preferred the pastries over the donuts though.

Service was great. I asked for sweet foam on top and I think there was a miss communication.The Vanilla nitro cold brew tasted like sweet tea. It was the overall flavor that was lacking for my personal taste.

I went to the area with two colleagues. I asked some locals for a recommendation and was guided to this coffee shop. The dark chocolate mocha hit the spot and was perfect for breakfast! They serve everything from breakfast to dinner, and if youre not sure what youre looking for, the daily specials are a great option.

The place has a nice interior design and relaxing ambiance. Im impressed by the staff, they were very welcoming and very helpful, moreover, the manager was super jolly and friendly. For a year now, Ive been at this coffee shop. I still crave coffee from them. It tastes so different from the other coffee shops in the city, by the way, in a good way. Not just because of their coffee, I used to drop by here every morning, but they also had a wonderful atmosphere. Their workers were also very polite and welcoming. Uh, thanks!

Out of the way but worthy. Industrial setting with inadequate indoor seating, but outdoors is fine. The coffee was the best coffee we got in Chicago and we went to 8 or so boutique craft coffee places. They were very covid cautious; so, masking, plexiglass barriers w hearing difficulty, limited capacity indoors, but the beans were superb and superbly roasted.

1st timer at Metric ordered a cappuccino and asked for some help picking some fresh beans to try at home. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Cap was delicious.Definitely coming back for more.

Among the remainder, you are the best! What I like about this coffee shop is that when it comes to coffee and pastries, theyve really got my taste. Its not so sweet, and its just perfect. The food was good and great! The dessert that I ordered tasted like the frosting was made from margarine instead of butter. It feels heavy instead of a light texture when you eat it. But I went there mainly for coffee, so I had three cups (one of each kind) which is really what I aimed for since I really wanted to identify them all. No sugar just plain coffee, and I enjoyed them all. I had a great time here!

This has become my new favorite place to grab coffee. Ive passed it driving on north on Damen so many times and always wanted to drop in but never did. I finally did it and it was the best decision. All the baristas are super nice and welcoming. Their cold brew is awesome and Ive heard excellent things about their hot coffee as well (from my partner!). The pastries are great (cant say enough good things about the almond croissant). Having a good local spot for a morning coffee is invaluable and this is the perfect little neighborhood spot!

This coffee shop was probably the most relaxing location I visited. Theres no way Ill ever forget what happened in that room. The staff was friendly, and the coffee and sweet treats were far superior to those I had previously experienced. Again, a huge thank you to Jessica, the server, for being such a sweetheart!! This is a small quaint coffee shop. The service experience was nice. I like that they served my iced latte in a glass cup when I ordered to sit in. Most places will give a to go cup. It seems like a lot of thought was put into the design which I can appreciate. I recommend stopping in if youre in the area, the location is pretty random and tucked away.

Showed up to buy a bag of beans. 4th in line to make the purchase. It took over 15min for it to be my turn. Apparently, all work stops at Metric to figure out how to assemble a pastry box and put half a dozen donuts in it. And, apparently, fizzy drinks and pastries are the only things people buy at a coffee shop that wants $20+ for 12oz of beans. Never again.

Nice little coffee shop serving their own coffee thats roasted in-house. Pretty standard menu, from espresso drinks to cold brew. The nitro cold brew was tasty. Theres a small patio out front for nice days, and the staff was friendly. This place is more along the lines of Intelligentsia than Starbucks.

This is my second time here, and while I enjoyed the first time, this second time, I was really impressed. This place really brings the food over the top.

Interesting location and I actually didnt see it at first. Waited outside while my associate went in and waited in line. Had the cafe latte. It was just so-so, because it had that burnt taste to it. First started drinking coffee about a year ago in Italy, and havent been able to find a good cafe latte back here that compares.

Wonderful, well informed staff, and delicious high quality brews. The Guatemalan espresso, Ethiopian drip, and Guatemalan pour over were complex and delicious! The barista was patient and passionate in answering all of our questions. Coffee enthusiasts will love them!

I wish there were more places like this around town. The bill was appropriate for the quality. Feels like a place in Charlotte that I enjoyed visiting.

The food, coffee, and bread were very delicious and affordable. Besides, the waitress that served me was very friendly, decent, and informative.

This probably has to be the best coffee Ive tried in Chicago. We brew their beans at work and the coffee is incredibly smooth and enjoyable. Hopefully I can try more of their menu. The staff is always really cool, and the interior design of this place is stunning. Heads up though, its a tiny store and you most likely shouldnt bank on being able to comfortably sit around. Its nice if you work or live in the area, but other than that, the location is a little out of the way. Itd be awesome to see Metric expand with more locations!

I really love the ambiance, and its been a while since last here so we visited after lunch.The staff recommended the filter coffee to me, it was good but not in summer, cuz it’s very hot, would be better in cold weather Metric Coffee Co. has been around for many years and has a great reputation. If you are in the area and like your coffee, Id strongly recommend giving them a go.

Recently drop by here for a dirty chai latte - that was made deliciously! The staff here is friendly and the vibe here is relaxing and warm. I love how there are sofa seats here with a corner book shelf filled with books. The set up makes you feel welcomed and at home which I like very much! I dropped by here on a Saturday around 1PM and there were a lot of seats available. It is a smaller space though so I see it filling up fast during busier hours. Highly recommended if you are nearby and wants a warm satisfying cup of chai or something else.

Im picky about my coffee and I think and this is by far the best coffee in the city. Most of what they do seems to be medium/light roasts but every one is bright and crisp and flavorful. Ive never been a dark roast person so their coffee is a dream come true for me.

This is one of those quintessential hipster coffee shops - no coast pop music that borders on ambient, hex tile, pale wood, and a menu that barely deviates from strictly espresso. If that sounds like your scene, you will love this place. If youre exhausted by all the design-heavy hipster cafes out there... well you should give it a try anyway. The espresso drinks are legit and they have delicious tisanes as well.

Literally my favorite place to get coffee. Yes, they dont have a ton of seating so its not a spot to sit and co-work (unless its summer, they have a great patio). But its filled with the kindest baristas, really good, local coffee, and just all around amazing. #LoveMetric

The guys inside were super friendly & helpful and sitting on the patio while being snowed on by the coffee chaff from the roaster is definitely unique. But dont drive here and try to park. Thats not going to happen.

Great food. Great prices opens 7am for café con leche and great Sandwiches. Order large meal plates for dinner and pick up on the way home.Great hearty meals. Authentic Cuban food.
