I had an extremely positive experience with Ami, which stood in stark contrast to another garage door service who showed up unexpectedly a few minutes before him. Our garage door wouldn’t close, the guide rail had bent badly, and a roller had come out of the guide rail. The other company said that it would cost $300 for them to only close the garage door, that it could not be repaired, and that I would have to buy a new door. Ami said that he could completely repair the existing door and that I should wait on buying a new garage door because he would get mine working properly. He fixed everything for the same cost I was quoted by others just to get the door closed. He was thorough, had all the parts he needed (including a new guide rail), and never tried to sell me a new door that I didn’t need. He’s now my guy. I would (and will) use him again. Honest, professional, and fairly priced. Highly recommend.

My husband and I locked ourselves out of our place this morning and Ami was just the person we needed to be connected with. I called several other locksmiths who quoted much higher prices and were also not available ASAP. Ami was at our place promptly in 15 minutes, was incredibly nice, got us into our place and made us spare keys. Amis professionalism, expertise, and straightforward approach for my garage door replacement project throughout--from the moment he responded to my request for an estimate, to the estimate discussion we had, to the installation itself--were impressive. The job went exactly as he had described it to me. For example, Ami said he would call between 8 and 10 a.m. and arrive in that window--he called at 7:45 a.m. and arrived at 9. Said the job would take 5-7 hours, and it did! He even changed a burnt out light bulb and swept out the entire garage (mostly my own debris). But beyond those perks, he also anticipated many of my questions, and patiently answered others that I had. He takes a lot of pride in his work, and rightfully so! After receiving some very sketchy estimates from other companies, Ami was exactly who I needed and wanted to do the job, no doubt about it. Highly recommended!

Excellent experience.We called Ami on a weekday evening after 8:30 PM when I was sure no one would come to look at our garage which had suddenly collapsed off its hinges and could not be shut properly. Ami was at our home within 25 minutes and methodically worked until we could shut the door for the night.He then came back the next day and replaced the garage door (in the middle of a snowstorm, no less!) and took the time to ensure we understood how to take care of the door.He picked up his phone whenever I called and cleaned up thoroughly.Ami takes pride in his work and did not request that I write this review, I offered!

We were in the process of moving and needed our locks changed. While Ami was there I had to run back to my old apartment. He waited for me, and when I got back he still took the time to discuss the job in detail, with some very helpful recommendations. He was very friendly, professional, and genuinely nice. We chose him based on his excellent reviews, and I have to say he exceeded my expectations. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who needs a locksmith.

Ami was great! He replaced all of our locks on our new home and every single lock, even the gate, is on the same key. The handles look great and he was able to do everything the same day he came out to walk through everything with us. He was able to get the doors to fit better and we are really happy with the way everything turned out.

I reached out to AD Garage Doors and Locks through Yelp looking for a quote to change out hardware on our house doors and to rekey everything to one key. The response time was amazing, and Ami was able to come over the next day to give us a quote. He explained everything so well, and instructed me on what to buy for hardware. After purchasing all the hardware, he came back and installed everything for substantially less than other companies had quoted.I could not be more impressed with this small business. Ami was professional, friendly, hard working, extremely knowledgable on locks and home safety, and even took his shoes off in our home. He went above and beyond making sure all the doors closed securely (I even feel like I have new doors and not just hardware), had me try each lock, and explained the key pad to me that he installed on our garage door.Living years in a condo building and the board always hiring larger/big name companies; I got used to that type of service. THIS company takes pride in their work, did an excellent job rekeying everything to 1 lock, and saved me tons of money! I HIGHLY recommend this wonderful company and will be using only them in the future!

Our garage had been acting up for the past couple of weeks. It would open half way then come all the way down before opening fully. It progressively got bad to a point where it would only stay open half way, and I feared that it would eventually fall on my head....or even worse my car. That was when I knew I needed immediate intervention.Should I have called someone to come look at it way before things got bad? Sure. But you see, Im always hustlin and dont have to time to deal with things like these? Would it require me to take a day off work to get it fixed? What if it was a multiple day project? I cant.Anyways, one morning I decided to finally get it done. Ideally, I wanted someone who could come out during my lunch hours on the same day and get it done in an hour. Would be even better if they were locally in the West Loop. I know thats a tall list, but after consulting my Yelp search, I landed on AD Garage Doors & Locks. Ami picked up my call at 7AM (I know, Im crazy) and said that he would be able to meet me during lunch. Great! It almost sounded too good to be true, but I rolled with it anyways. Ami came by within his quoted time, gave me a courtesy 30-min call prior to arrival, and got down to business as soon as he arrived on site. Ami assessed the situation and accurately determined what was wrong with my garage and got it repaired under an hour. I didnt have to take off work which was the best part.Ami is great. He is experienced, no fuss, and fair. He will tell you what needs to be done, what is recommended, and what isnt necessary. I found his pricing to be very reasonable as well. He was very pleasant and accommodating. I hope that my garage stays in tact for a long while, but should anything go awry again, Ami would be the first person at the top of my list to call. And he is available 24/7....how great is that!

I was desperate looking for someone to fix our broken front door during service at my job. I tried getting in contact with other hand man services and I either had to make an appointment or they were closed. This place was available! The service was great! He came and looked at the issue and explained to me what needed to be done and or fixed. He went and bought the part and installed it at a reasonable price. Ami was awesome. I contacted AD through yelp on Sunday and he came out Monday evening to perform the work. I had him install a garage door opener and work on locks on my two exterior doors. He took his time to really explain the garage door installation to me and went above and beyond on the work on my two exterior doors - installing one door knob for free. I couldnt be happier with my experience and strongly recommend AD Garage Doors and Locks.

We were referred to this company to replace all the locks in our house and Im glad we were. We had a consultation, then agreed to have the work done. A few days later Ami came out and in a matter of hours we had exactly what we asked for done... and done well.The price was very reasonable, the work was done as expected. If this sounds like an overly glowing review of a somewhat mundane household need I think thats because its rare enough to find an honest service who meets your needs quickly and affordably.
