It is no secret - Magic Inc. is one of the bes)t places to learn and buy magic. Pedro is amazing and the whole team including Luis and Nathan provide amazing customer service. They always help me find what I need and provide crucial feedback. Also, these magicians are the best magicians I have ever seen. Luis is a beast!!!!

Fantastic shop!! I couldnt recommend it more. Everyone there is an incredible magician, and theyre all incredibly friendly! Theyre really driven by a passion for the art - never just to make a quick buck. Ive been there numerous times now, and theyre always happy to help review and comment on a trick Ive been working on, recommend good magicians to watch, and, of course, find amazing new tricks. This place is the reason why Brick and Mortar magic shops are still needed. Ive been to the last remaining magic shops in NYC and Chicago and Ive never felt a stronger sense of community than at Magic Inc. Pedro who is a shop manager and demonstrator is great. Nathan is also great. They also publish some great books! I used to spend hours here. Honestly, once COVID settles down, grab a cheesesteak at Montis and stop by Magic Inc. Ive seen professional magicians and children/people from all walks of life in this shop. SUPPORT this timeless Chicago GEM!

Knew what I wanted when I went in. The clerk was very nice, and gave me a few options from which to choose. There were a few options of varying price, and he demonstrated the pros and cons of each without trying to up-sell too hard. I made my selection and we talked for a few minutes afterwards. I am very much an amateur but he was courteous and not at all condescending. Signed up for the mailing list and will definitely be going back.

Very cool and helpful

Im not new to magic, but Im starting to get I to the more difficult card and pickpocket routines. The guys there were awesome. They really know what theyre doing. I asked for a blank deck and an oversized deck, they had it very quickly and asked what I was doing with them. Best Magic shop Ive ever been to. Ill see you next time Im in Chicago.

Magic is all about entertaining people. If you have any interest in learning magic, leaning from real people is the way. This shop is the real deal. The people know their stuff and recommend get books and tricks. The people are extremely nice. If you arent even sure why youve walked in the door, you wont feel intimidated and will be welcomed, entertained, and sure to smile. They also have classes that I hope to check-out at some point.

Magic Inc is one of the last true magic shops left in America. Staffed by professional, knowledgeable magicians who know their stuff. They are fully stocked with tricks, books, and videos from rank beginner to professional.

Its a small little magic shop, but its best feature is there people that run it, I went there for my son to get him some magic items I just cant find in Rockford Illinois, and I didnt want to just order off the internet, they explained quite a few things to my son, and even got my 9y/o to wanna get into some magic herself. Their selection is amazing for both card and non card tricks. My son got four things of magic, 2 decks and 2 hand held tricks, my daughter got 2 slight of hand items to try on her friends, and theyve loved them all. We will be shopping there again in the future.

My first visit was for a simple deck of cards, since then Ive been filling my shelves with everything from books to cards to props. The knowledge the staff has in incalculable! Its intimidating trying to find the right trick in a field filled with secrets. Pedro and the staff make that process easy with insider info and recommendations. Chicagos oldest and most complete magic shop. This was the child of Jay Marshall a magic legend. Now you have a new generation of staff running it and it has grown into more order then previously. Back when Jay was alive, youd be able to go in the back and explore tons of lecture notes and one off manuscripts, note this new group has commercialized it a bit more and are now selling those one offs in bulk so its a welcome structure.

Fun store, and teenager-friendly. Staff will gladly demonstrate magic tricks. Lots of books and kits.

Nothing but great experiences when I go. Pedro and Luis are fanastic! My Uncle and I had a private lesson with Luis about 4 years ago, and he still remembers me every time I go in the store, and I havent forgotten the Coin Matrix routine he taught us. Great environment, very kid friendly, and Im surprised there arent A LOT more positive reviews on here. Although I didnt go very often due to the lengthy transit, this place helped shaped my childhood because it was always a special day when my Uncle or Mom would take me. There are a bunch of funny gags around the shop and even some where youd least expect them (watch out for the toy props labeled bomb by the cash register). I cant wait for the day when I can bring my own kids to the shop, and carry on the tradition, keeping Magic in the family.

Pushy sales people!, I visited this store to get new props for my show the guy there did not smile at all, Evey time I ask about a specific prop in the shelf he was so unhappy he made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.I order by internet instead.

Ive gone to the Magic Inc store on several occasions, and have very happy with the level of knowledge and service. I had never before seen their magic shows in a small theater next to the shop. After calling and discussing my concerns, (would we be able to see a table top show, and was it an appropriate show for 8 to 13 year old kids), I was reassured that all seats would be able to see the close up act. They assured me that they would limit the audience to make sure everybody who had a ticket would be able to see. We also go there early as they suggested.I purchased 5 tickets for the show. As soon as it started, it was clear that my group was not going to be able to see the show. They had oversold the theater for such an intimate performance. An usher moved us to taller chairs, but that helped very little. Less than 10 minutes into the show we left the theater. The usher suggested I take the kids to the shop so they could see something, and not have the night be a total loss. The shop was closed.I understand that they got more people interested in the show than they were expecting. I get it. However after several messages to the company, I was never given anything to make up for the money I spent. I did get a call from the stores manager who told me he was powerless to do anything, and the companys owner lives in NYC. He said Id need to contact him.I have very fond memories of seeing magic as a child, and was hoping to share a special evening with my kids. I was disappointed in how the situation was handled the night of the show, but was understanding. What I think is unforgivable, is their lack of any form of compensation - either offering me tickets to future shows, discounts on magic gear- anything to have shown a good faith effort. Even a phone call from the owner would have been nice.5 very disappointed customers will never go back.
