Quicker Than The Eye is one of those rare places in the world you are happy and thankful they exist. It is a great resource for rare, interesting and beautiful historical pieces. And right, It IS centered around Magic performance, performers, apparatus, books and ephemera - but, for me, it’s primary attraction covers a much wider range.Anyone interested in the Theater and it’s history, and extremely rare, hand made artifacts from a time when live performance was our only option for entertainment, all the way to the present, will find this store fascinating.The antiquarian book section is huge (I’ve never managed to get through it all in one sitting) and covers a wide range of fascinating, performance related, topics. Some volumes are so rare, the copy they offer is often the only copy I’ve ever seen.I spend a few minutes everyday there because they add new things everyday. And they run a tight ship - questions? more photos? no problem.Others have mentioned this and I will too. They have conquered the perils associated with shipping - every package arrives as if they drove it to my door in their own car and hand delivered it. Not one problem, ever.And it’s worth mentioning, the QTTE parent company - Potter & Potter Auctions - is fantastic. Always beautiful and rare pieces offered in their spectacular auctions - always accompanied by a beautiful catalog. This association is important for QTTE and it’s customers - for finding the impossible to find - to understanding it’s true value.I am a fan, obviously. Some of the best pieces in my collection came from QTTE.My Great Uncle wanted to join the Circus his entire life. I would have too, except, unfortunately, the Circus of his era is long gone. But here, it IS possible to find a little piece of what makes that era; those great performers and these varied and beautiful theatrical arts stand out in our collective cultural memory.
