Easy to purchase engines here. I showed up in the morning as they were opening up. I was told to back up to the loading dock up against the building doors. It was placed in my truck bed via forklift. I tied it down and went inside to pay and off I went. I found it all very convenient. Maybe others have had other experiences. Now I just hope the engine is good:)

JDM San Diego shipped me a transmission that had metal flakes in it and when installed did not work. It sat for a couple months and by the time I realized it didn’t work, my warranty was up by a couple months. However, they offered nothing for me and took no responsibility and just told me to “flush my oil” when the transmission had metal flakes in it BEFORE I even put it in the car. Now I’m out $560 and they have no customer service skills or offer of a replacement or even a partial refund. Very disappointed and feel ripped off. Talked to them on the phone and via email and they offered no consolidation. Also the email on their website was incorrect so it took even longer for me to contact them

Great guys. Very professional they offered a live compression test for me to ensure the engine was healthy. Really to recommend these guys I drove 2 hours and it was really worth it.

I worked with Jay at JDM. Great customer service! Initially, the driver delivered the wrong engine and made up some excuse that this was my engine even though the serial number did not match my invoice. However, Jay offered to provide a replacement engine on their next shipment which caused my install project to be delayed by about week. I received the JDM motor which at first looked a bit rusty on the outside, but overall looked good based on my mechanics inputs (i.e., no metal in oil or obvious leaks in any seals). Had my mechanic install the JDM engine in my 01 Tacoma truck and after install, the truck started and roared like a new engine. Ran the car for over 100 miles after replacing the engine with no issues! I am a very satisfied customer and recommend JDM San Diego to anyone looking for a Japanese replacement engine with less than 60k miles.

While I didnt end up buying a motor from them directly, they were were extremely helpful throughout the time I was looking at various 1JZs they had in stock. I worked with Russell directly via text, and he was more than willing to answer all the questions I had and even send compression tests on many different engines I looked at - great customer service all around. I only didnt purchase an engine through them because I found an RB25 in my local area that was too cheap to pass up. Ill be coming back to this store if I need another engine in the future for any of my project cars.

I called to replace the engine on my 2007 Lexus RX 350 due to a bad oil leak. They had the engine in stock but after talking to me for a while he referred me to his mechanic to just get the engine fixed instead of replacing it. Their honesty saved me $2,000. Purchased a motor for my civix. They said it was a direct replacement motor. It was not a direct replacement motor.So not only were they false advertising, they are also refusing to exchange or refund. When all of my mechanic friends told me they might be able to fix my daughters 4Runner for $2500-$3500, I was admittedly a tad bit skeptical when I found a complete motor at JDM for $1750, plus $600 to install. Two months later, and my daughters 4Runner is still running like new! The installation guy hit me up for an extra $100, but that was still MUCH cheaper than anyone else was willing to do. And I guess I should mention that the vehicle was delivered around 7:30PM on a Thursday evening, and I got a call at 10:00 Saturday morning saying the vehicle was ready to go.

I bought an engine from here back in January or February I can’t remember the exact date but I had it installed to a place they recommended and so far it’s June now and my car has been working amazing! Thank you Russell for helping my boyf and me! You guys are great!! :)

I purchased a 5VZFE from these guys for my 1999 Toyota Tacoma and I could not have asked for a smoother transaction. Russell was to the point, nice and very professional. I payed over the phone and the engine was to me quicker than he quoted. Upon inspection I was amazed at the great condition and cleanliness of the engine. After swapping some parts over from the old engine it slipped right into the truck. At first start I was amazed how smooth it ran. Smoothest 5VZ Ive ever heard! Been bout a mo with ZERO issues. All in all I would not hesitate to purchase another engine from these guys! If I could give more stars I would!

Bought a f20b full swap. Way cleaner than expected. Have worked with them in the past and they always go outta their way to make sure your happy. Couple years ago bought a t2t4 transmission from their other warehouse, casing was cracked when they looked over it. Then went outta their way to get me another transmission in just one extra day.Not to mention the b20bs Ive bought from them in the past for my turbo civic. Literally the only other place Id go is hmo but jdm will make you happy for cheaper I promise that.

I bought my dream car (93 toyota supra) from these guys about a month ago and i just wanted to say how great my buying experience was with Russell and Bassett. I had no problem registering it in Arizona. I would not hesitate to buy another car from jdm of San Diego again or a drivetrain.

I was sent the wrong part and they had no desire to help me or make it right. Smooth talkers when you are buying but if you have a problem after your purchase your out of luck.
