I always try to support local/family business but unfortunately I’ll have to pass. “Alberto”, I assume the owner was incredibly rude, difficult and disrespectful. The other person working there is not as rude but give it some time, I’m sure Alberts’ charming personality will rub off. They seemed bothered when asking questions. If you like rude service and high prices, this place is for you. I cannot recommend this place at all and will take my money else where. There’s plenty of Gun-shops in San Diego with friendly staff & less price gouging.

The short guy there was basically just a body to keep the doors open. Zero customer service (LOOK AT THEIR REPLIES TO CUSTOMERS AS AN EXAMPLE), price gouging the San Diego gun community...great business model, which makes sense why you guys are always empty, even with ammo. guns all look used and very limited old supply. DONT BUY HERE, THEY ARE PRICE GOUGING, AND CLAIM ITS EVERYWHERE, ITS NOT. SHOP AROUND, YOULL THANK ME. LAX AMMO IS A GREAT START!

I can not thank Albert enough. As a Mother he made me feel so safe and comfortable. Like those Tios that actually care and want to share that knowledge with you. I have very small hands and he made sure to help me find a gun that is Safe, Accommodates to my needs and extremely polite. Im thankful to be shopping from our community. I cant wait to come back! Anyone who price gouges like he does during times like this deserves a one star. A box of 50 rounds of 9mm are $80!!! Glock 19’s over $1000! Beretta 92F’s over $1000! What’s sad is they don’t understand customers will not return. I know I won’t. I have respect for shops that stay fair. This was a joke. $1.60 rd for 9’s??? Really?????

Great well stocked Gun Store with a very knowledgable owner. For everyone who is talking about price gauging there isnt any ammo anywhere. Supply and demand. The simple fact that they have ammo in stock is a win.

Sold some pistols on consignment for me. They sold quickly and for a good price. Never had a problem with 5 transactions. Personal attention and no waiting if you go early. This is the only gun store I would use for my consignment guns. Fees are also minimal.

Best shop in San Diego. $30 transfers makes it easy to order online, 10% consignment fee is the lowest out there, no pressure sales tactics makes browsing easy and fun and when they are not too busy, Albert the owner is a fun and knowledgeable guy to talk to. Highly recommend this shop. If he doesn t have it, order it online and have it delivered. Best shop in San Diego.

I purchased a handgun online and the preferred FFL provider was Al and Chula Vista Gun Store. The transaction was smooth! Communication with Al was easy and he made the whole process swift! Filled out the paperwork, waited the 10 days, picked up my purchase and for good measure purchased ammo from Al. He made this process smooth, painless and quick. If you’re looking for chatterbox customer service then you’re looking in the wrong place. Al is a straight shooter, no BS and to the point. I will be doing business with him again!

The only thing good about this place is the transfer fee. Lowest in SD but the customer service is ATROCIOUS. Its like that restaurant in LA where the servers are intentially rude and throw your beers down the table to you, which is a cool theme because thats their gimmick. This place gives you the same service but its not a joke. Theyre just that horrible.

Everywhere its 10 to 20% of total amount but this store scams you for 300$ Fixed no matter what so if you purchase a 300$ gun and get denial its gone complete BS, since i cant comment on your answer, what about people with no felony or any criminal record like me? Just called this place inquiring about a rifle on Armslist. Very poor customer service. I asked simply if they could go down at all on the weapon. They said no, which was fine. Said it was $60 to ship asked where to, I said well let me do some thinking on this and in the middle of me saying this he hangs up the phone. Will not bother with this place anymore.

I used Chula Vista Gun Store as an FFL. I bought a gun from a retailer elsewhere and I was called the day the received it in store to start the paper work. Ive never previously bought a gun and Albert was extremely helpful and pleasant. There was a line but once I entered the store he said he would help me once I entered. I would definitely recommend as an FFL and if you have any gun questions I would call because they seem knowledgeable.

I have been here three times now, and will continue to only do gun related business here. I rate places in a few categories. 1) pricing. The prices here are very fair and reasonable while other gunships are charging over $100 for transfer fees. 2) customer service. I have had great service and most of all, I email with questions, and always get a reply same day with all the information. 3) quality. I see a lot of complaints of inventory shortage, while there arent hundreds of guns, there are a selection of good ones,. There is a waiting period on buying a gun anyways, so having them order a gun isnt an inconvenience. This is my go to gun shop for now on.

Worst worst customer service.I arrived and the seller (Hispanic heavy set guy) didnt want to come out from the back. After I told him I wanted to buy a gun he came out but it felt he didnt want to be there. He was extremely rude it really felt that his goal was not to sell guns. Prior to this shop I went to two other shop, huge huge difference in customer service. The other shop were willing to help with forms and requirements, this guy basically told me to go get all requirements and come back. Im a Vet I dont need all the requirements he waste talking about. Stay away from this place.Update: I meet all requirements, I actually bought one the day after in a different gun store with great customer service.

Not very good customer service. Pistols, Shotguns, Rifles, Cool but when you remember the California magazine limit and open carry ban it kind of makes you realize it sucks to be a gun owner in California.

If you want customer service youve gone to the wrong place. As you can tell by all the other reviews there is something definitely wrong with the owner. The smug arrogance he has is enough to drive anyone away. I thought maybe he has a slight case of bad attitude but I really didnt want to go anywhere else since I found a used item I was looking for way below the price I was ready to pay for it. I didnt realize he might be suffering from a slight case of Asperger syndrome until after he had my money and the wait was on. Needless to say I got what I came there for and I just wont be back. If thats how he runs his business then so be it. Buyer (and shopper) beware.
