I think this is a family-owned run shop. Great price on live shrimp. They have all kinds of bait and an assortment of fishing gear. Always have great service here. I was going fishing in almost St Pete I still got live shrimp from them to take with me. Even though there was plenty of bait shops along the way I still picked Captain Hooks Bait and Tackle.

Im here at 0723 hours and no one is here. If your going to set the hours to be open at 0600 you should be open. Im marking this place as shutdown. To many comments are stating the same outcome.

My 2 year old woke and decided she wanted to go fishing. This bait shop made the fishing trip with my daughter even better. I asked for a 1 dozen shrimp and the guy told me about a deal they had (5.00) for 20 shrimp so i figured might as well. After putting the shrimp in the bucket (good size shrimp and gave me plenty of water) he told me its on the house and to just enjoy the time fishing with my daughter. This shop just earned themself a loyal customer. Thank you so much for making this time better!!

Callled before I came to this location. I was told they close at 8pm by someone who answered the phone. It is 2:20pm (15 minutes later) and doors are locked.

Nice to have a new bait shop on my way to pick up my boat from storage. I bought an Ugly Stick there cheaper than it was on Amazon or at Walmart. They also have great prices on Dexter knives, tackle and bait. Chum blocks are cheap, I just wish I had a bigger freezer.

Used to stop in here to get bait all the time BUT recently the store doesnt open when it says itll be open and every time I try to stop by between 12 noon to 2ish there is ALWAYS a sign on the door that says they will be right back and the sign stays on for hours... tired of wasting gas driving specifically too captain hooks for my bait cuz at the end of the day I end up wasting time and gas
