The centre of our Old Town. Its a lovely place to visit all year round with numerous beautiful restaurants but the best time would be in December when it hosts a month long Christmas fair which is one of the most beautiful of its kind in all of Europe.
The centre of Tallinn old town. Definitely a place to visit & many events are held there including the Christmas market & medieval weekend. Good eating venues but be prepared to pay for the location. The little pancake stall at the north end is particularly recommended.
It is a very beautiful place and it sets a good background for the square around. Tallin is very magical.
Town hall in Tallinn is great. A lot of space, nice buildings and really cool place to have a beer and a pie just below the tower :)
The old town is very nice and well preserved and easy enough to walk around, stopped off for a day on a cruise but what a difference from when I was last here nearly 20 years ago! Stayed then for 4 nights, no cruise ships and not many western tourists but everything changes but it is still well worth a visit.
What a gem and wonderful place in old Tallinn. Beautiful with great places to have a drink or to eat out.
We only visited the tower, because the hall itself was closed for Estonian Independence Day. Entrance was 3 Euro per person. The spiral staircase is steep and narrow, in particular towards the top. It was 115 steps, and the steps are very tall so it is a good workout. Still, we are not in particular good shape, but we had no trouble making it to the top. Nice view over the square and the roofs of the old town. There is a big bell at the top with inscriptions.
They have done a great job at renovating and preserving this Town Hall from 1404, the only surviving Gothic Town Hall in Northern Europe! There is a lot of medieval art, furniture, items in use in those days, and recreations of the various rooms used here hundreds of years ago. I went up to the attic too, where there were display boards and a few items on display. Apparently there is a good view from the roof as per guidebook reports, but maybe it was closed when I visited as I did not see any way up there. I was in Tallinn on a 9-hour stopover on a Norwegian Getaway 9-day Baltic Cruise during mid-August 2019. i had a Tallinn Card which covered most sights. Rick Steves Scandinavian & Northern European Cruise Ports Guidebook was a great help and this sight was part of the self-guided Tallinn Walk in the book.
What makes Tallinn different than other European cities is that they managed to preserve medieval structures. The city plan from the 13th century is still intact which makes Tallinn a recognized landmark. Walking around the town square in the original cobblestone streets will lead you to medieval churches and merchant houses that date back to the Middle Ages. Its fascinating!
Very lovely city Square. Lots of bars/restaurants to chill for a moment. No cars allowed so nice and quiet
Very touristy place. For tourists great place to rest and have a drink. There are hidden pearls of Tallin for non standard tourists. This is not one of thouse.
Historicly amazing. But its not all of Tallinn.
Just an AMAZING fairy tale old city!!! When I walk tgere I think Im in Hans Christian Andersens fairy tale.
Nice and cozy, more space than usuallyIg: @kaihvo
What a lovely square full of very beautiful buildings. There is a cute mini panncake kiosk by the side. You can take savoury or sweet set. Its fresh and tasty. Savoury with garlic is my favourite.
Want to go back coz it so good and coo place like thier old town
Small Christmas bazaar is nice and feels cozy. Glogg and sausages 😋
Beautiful place! You can actually feel that time goes backwards while walking the old streets
The Tallinn Town Hall building is located in the main square of Tallinn and it’s easy to recognize for the beautiful and imposing tower. We didn’t visit inside, we actually are not sure if you can visit and how much should be the entrance fees, but we walked around checking out the beautiful details in the stone building, kind of medieval construction where you can find some cool details as the “Gargoyles” gracing the sides of the building.According Wikipedia, it’s the oldest town hall in the whole of the Baltic region and Scandinavia, and as everything in Tallinn old town, it’s a beautiful building really well maintained and gives the old square a magic charming.Eli: 5 / Serge: 5Recommended: Yes, It’s a nice and central landmark of Tallinn.
The place is more than wonderful and Worth to be visited .. #grateful🙏
Beautiful place. Used to be very crowded before COVID.
Walking around the place is very beautiful. 💋🥰🥰🥰
Great place to people watch. I met several people from different coutries here. There are many restaurants with outdoor seating and at times you can see people performing as well. I highly recommend the little medieval restaurant in the town hall building. Its really good and cheap. The ladies can be a little abusive, but thats part of the fun.
Nice place. But a little boring after looking at all the old houses. The sovjetian prison outside centrum and seaplane hangar is well worth a trip.
Beautiful
Stayed beautifully untouched and it is easy to feel the history in the place
Great place! Beautiful medieval old town and very atmospheric!
Its s a must. The town centre with plenty bars and restaurants.
This is a great place to visit. Most of the texts have an English translation, there are many recreations and it’s full of history. There’s one thing to consider though; the tower isn’t included on the price, and you won’t be able to buy it in the same place. The tower costs 3 extra euros and is located on the left of the main entrance. You can’t pay for the tower with card. There’s a great view from the top of the tower.
Love its medieval ambience and its old town feel. Hansa House great restaurant. Made us travel to the old times.
Very nice place.
A world heritage place, steep climb to the top, fantastic views of charming Tallinn, not to be missed.
Beautiful old town with lots of charm, great bars and restaurants, history and sweet people
Absolutely stunning and beautiful town hall, situated almost at the top of the old town in a wide spacious central square. A definite must for for all who visit Tallinn.
Town Hall is surrounded by beautiful houses which are painted in different coloursAround there are a lot of fancy restaurants in front of them there are usually knights with fire torchesAlso in the corner theres the oldest Town Hall Pharmacy in Europe and Marzipan shop-museum
Old town is lovely!! Try the viking pubs❤️
Great views from the tower!
Nice place, i love to be her every time
Beautiful sightseeing in the heart of Tallinn!
13th century town hall that was functional until the 1970s making it the oldest such building in the Baltics and Scandinavian area
Very pretty medieval town
Its located in the heart of Town. Worth to see
The observatory costs 3 euro but the free Cohtuotsa viewing platform is much better. After climbing up 34 meters with stiff stairs, you can see the view only through windows, 50cm x 180cm. But beautiful. Closed at 5:30pm in summer.
Nice city hall, unfortunately closed for national holiday...
Beautiful old buildings, a lot of tourist restaurants (looks cozy but expencive) Worth a visit but I wouldnt eat there.
It is one of the most beautiful old towns I have seen in Europe.Walk around old town late in the night and you have the whole history to yourself.Highly recommended!
SUPER super place in old town
Beyond incredible! So wish we lived here. The people, the food, the beer, the atmosphere, it all was perfect
Very old and beautiful place.
This is a city where the princesses live.
Gorgeous city. Absolutely loved it.
It would be better if the weather is good...
Nice place, lots to see with a good variety of things to do
Gorgeous piece of medieval architecture.
Lovely looking building in the centre of tallin.
Estonia was beautiful and so friendly.
Very pleasant walk around the old town
Has medieval vibe to it. Architecture held up pretty well and looks gorgeous. Lots of cafes and pubs nearby. During Christmas holds a picturesque fair. Worth a visit
A short trip through history 🏰. Amazing!
Nice ancient building in the middle of the old town. During weekends there is a nice souvenir market in the square just next to it. Maybe not worth paying for going in the tower. Go to St Olaf church instead.
Wonderful Tallinn old town, the best in Tallinn to see
Very pretty and enchanting
Nice historical site
A beautiful square, it is worth to visit if you are visiting Tallinn for a few days.
Nice city.
A place to relax and enjoy hustle bustle of other tourists. Its a small square with restaurants around. We came here after visiting the 4 towers and viewpoints on hillock. Though weather was windy but still we enjoyed our lunch.
Great town center with a lots activities in front of the building.
Awesome views of old town Tallinn at the top. Worth the climb, for a small fee.
Beautiful town full of history
Amazing historical place
Tallinn old Town is one of the oldest cities I have visited. There are hundreds of years old architecture and museums here. I loved seeing this city so much that I stayed here for five months. Many tourists flock here, especially during the summer. This country in Northern Europe is very cold during the winter.
Fascinating historic building in Tallinn Old Town main square, very impressively preserved.
Nice place to visit.
The picture is mixed bat everything is near to visit
The heart of old Town, lovely!
Very authentic and charming city
I love Old Tallinn
Medieval, gothic structure dominates old town. Has soldier shaped weather vane spire. 1944 bomb hit weather vane. Replaced . There are steps up to the tower for a great view.
It is a lovely place in Summer
Great square with plenty of places to eat and drink..
Great place to stop for food and drinks. Lots of people watching here.
Lovely Place! Must Visit if your visiting Tallinn!
