Awesome! Called and spoke with Juan and he ordered a replacement wood window sash from 1938 and had an exact match in under 2 weeks. Also he told me they make wood screens and storm windows. A hidden gem in Cleveland! I say hidden because I hadnt found it before. Knowledgable staff, high-quality materials, and a willingness to serve the customer that is becoming more and more rare today. We will be fulfilling our lumber needs here in the future!

Highly disappointed! You try to support local small businesses and just get taken advantage of. We ordered grade1 pressure treated lumber for a deck. Cost us a fortune. When they delivered the boards, we noted that they were all banged up. They have huge deep knots and the edges were cracked and misshapen. When we questioned the delivery guys, the one not wearing a mask when mandated during a pandemic answered Well thats whats available. Its stamped grade 1! The other one, the one who was coughing (with a mask down below his chin) clearly didnt know what he was doing. We just paid $8 extra per board for grade 2 lumber at best Either Cleveland lumber is getting scammed or theyre doing the scamming...

They did a great job putting my window glass in a frame today. Only thing is make sure you clarify the price when it comes time to pay for it. I also like to support local business too. They handled everything correctly. I would do business again.

Great business. They have and do it all lumbar wise. No kidding, they were 40% cheaper per board for 2x4x8 S4S cedar than my much closer lumbar yard. First experience was with a slightly testy Vince when I asked about them straightening boards for a fee since the gal said they did on the phone. They wouldnt joint & plane other companies boards after all and the gal was mistaken on the phone, FYI. No worries, they were swamped and the rest of my experience was a very positive one.

Great local place! I got rough-sawn cedar here for raised garden beds, and they were able to cut the pieces to size for me. Reasonable prices for lumber

Owner is not wearing a mask.. and he was very rude to us after we drove all the way here To pick up wood we were just quoted for. He acted like we should know that they were out of wood, and treated us like we were idiots because we were trying to ask questions about the different pieces of wood.

The best building supplier out there. At least the best in the CLE area (Westside). If youre a pro youll figure out the system and where the various types of lumber are located in the yardafter a couple visits. BUT if its your first time too an old school non big box store lumber yard you might find it very confusing. Dont worry! All you have to do is ask for instructions. Juan or Vince and the rest of the sales guys are super helpful! And the yard staff are eager to help you! I cant say enough about them!!!!If you are in North East Ohio and youre building something, Cleveland Lumber is the place to go!!!!!!!

This place is amazing and the customer service is fantastic. Received a full tour of the premises when I announced it was my first time there.

I dropped off a window to be repaired, after 3 weeks of not hearing anything I went back to ask about my window. The gentleman who fixes the windows told me they are backed up and it will need a little more time. I was satisfied with his answer and made my way out of the store. On my way out I was asked by the owner if I needed any help, I told him I was just checking on a window I dropped off for repair 3 weeks ago. He then began to yell and scream at me in front of my son, and then said if I dont like it I should take my window to ge repaired elsewhere. I took his advice and went back to the window guy to ask for my window back, he couldnt find it. After over a month of them not being able to find my window and me having to call them every day they finally found it. I own several rental properties in the Cleveland area, I am also a Real Estate Broker and Loan Officer, I have never seen such unprofessionalism in all my dealings. Please stay far away from Cleveland Lumber.

Best lumber company in Cleveland

I have purchased quite a few things from Cleveland lumber. Most of the purchases went well, delivery is cheap and the majority of the sales guys are great. I recently tried to buy a second vanity from them to match the one I previously purchased. I called a sales guy, bob, every single day for a week trying to get a price. Every day was a new excuse on how he would get me a price, yet he never did. I eventually had to give up and buy the vanity somewhere else. I like to support local businesses like this, but I shouldn’t have to beg someone to sell me something. Thanks for nothing Bob

Used to stop in when working west side jobs, grabbing odds and ends we missed on orders from better lumber yards. Once I experienced Vince (had to ask who it was) have a tantrum like my 3 year old, I was done. Cant respect employees, then you cant respect yourself. Grow up.

I’ve been shopping at Cleveland Lumber for nearly 15 years as a contractor myself, and working for several other contractors. Over the years I’ve experienced the owner (Vince) throw temper tantrums in the middle of the store for staff and customers to witness. Cursing at customers and staff, threatening staff, physically knocking things over, very unprofessional and immature behavior. I should have made the decision to not support this type of establishment a long time ago, but now that one of those tantrums was directed towards me...I definitely won’t be back.I’ll preface my story by saying this: they have always been great about taking care of regulars, doing things that they normally wouldn’t do but doing them for loyal customers....not on this day. I went in and had a few pieces of trim cut to some odd sizes, something I’ve had done many times with no issues. When I went to pay, I could have given my total number of lineal feet and they would have just charged me and I would have been done. I wanted to make sure I calculated it correctly and that neither of us would be cheated, so I asked one of the staff to double check my math. After Vince overheard some of the lengths I had cut he completely lost it, screaming and cursing at the employee that cut it (17 year old kid maybe), telling me that I would need to take the cutoffs, throwing the pieces on the floor, and finally telling the kid that it would be coming out of his paycheck. This all occurred in a store full of staff and customers. Unbelievable. He claimed that the cutoffs weren’t usable even tho they were in 4ft lengths. I even offered to take 3 of the 9 of them, which he couldn’t hear during his tantrum. So when it was all said and done, IF he had to take a complete loss (which he didn’t) on the few pieces of trim, it would have amounted to around a $45 loss.I’ve spent thousands of dollars there over the years, have recommended it to many others, and have always been respectful to them...and now I’m done. For potentially $45, you lost not only my business and any more business I would have recommended, but my respect as well. Way to go Vince. My apologies to the kid that cut the pieces for me. If it really did come out of your paycheck, I would be more than happy to reimburse you for it.

Actually went into apply for a position at Cleveland Lumber and everyone was very helpful.. I had at least 3 individuals approach me within 10 seconds of me opening the door to see if I needed any help. They truly take pride in their customer service!

Truly a one of a kind experience anymore - as someone said, a place like this is hard to find now amid big box stores. There is a gentleman there named Al who came out to my house a couple of times to measure old wooden windows - at no charge. He was friendly and truly old school in terms of great customer service. I couldnt be happier with my experience! Highly recommend.

One of the few, if only, places in NE Ohio to stock knotty pine Pickwick panelling. The staff was most helpful and accommodating.

Ive only dealt with this place once, with an odd request, and the employees where very helpful. I needed red oak to carve a long bow, described what I was looking for, they where pretty sure they didnt have it, looked anyway, and found exactly what I needed. Then, they reassured me that I was using the right material and even gave me advice. More than I could ask for.

These guys are the real deal. Dont waste your time with Lowes and Home Depot. If you want real experts and high quality materials or you live in a 100 year old home this is the place for you.

Very knowledgeable staff and you can get a lot of items the big guys do not stock. They do window repair from screen repair to double pane windows including custom repairs. They make kitchen drawers for cabinets also.

A well stocked lumber company with an old-fashioned local-neighborhood business attitude. The owner is usually on the premises, often working at the front counter. You never have trouble finding one of the many courteous sales representatives for help. Prices and quality of lumber are usually better than Home Depot or Lowes. They also return phone calls promptly.The hardware store is decent, though not as big as you would expect at a dedicated hardware store, but they will always special order stuff for you what they do not carry in-stock, and again at very reasonable prices. They do carry a wide variety of do-it-yourself and home construction supplies including windows, tile, insulation, rental equipment, paint, solvents, just to name a few.

I was in need of some replacement rollers for a pocket door.A friend suggested your store but no pocket rollers that matched!Your store had only 2 rollers and only for a double track.I then went to Lowes and they had several styles in stock.Guess I will stick to Lowes, Home Depot.

Been going to Cleveland lumber for over 20 years now. The staff has been very helpful and courteous (Rudy & Joe). Vince on the other hand was very rude after asking him why the price fluctuation with the quotes and sale price within a week and started cursing and yelling in front of the customers and staff. Never have I felt so embarrassed or uncomfortable in my life being in a store. Im a very laid back well mannered individual who had been in business for 25 years with a strong clientele foothold in the construction business. Im done with this place. They lost my business and will never refer them anymore. Vince you need a long vacation with a cooler full of happy juice.

Cleveland Lumber and the flooring store in the back of Cleveland Lumber are both of my favorites. Staffs very knowledgeable friendly if I cant find what I need there they can give you advice where else to find it excellent store highly recommended.

Terrific old-time lumberyard. Not many of these left in the city. And they have the materials for older houses including double-hung wood windows, porch flooring, and much more.

Good luck getting anything from this place. I placed a screen order with the older gentleman there, nothing was made. I called to ask for the status three weeks later from the same guy, couldnt get an answer. I called the following Monday and spoke with the same guy, still no answer. All three times a jeff was supposed to call me and never did. Terrible customer service, no type of management ensuring orders and phones calls are done. I tried going to a local place and was dissatisfied, Ill go to a big corporate store I guess.

I had the misfortune of dealing with some total jerk named Vince who said he is the owner.****WOMEN BEWARE****** TOTAL GENDER DISCRIMINATION!Ive been coming to Cleveland Lumber for over 15 years and have never been told how can I help you in one second and then in another sorry I need to help this guy and then being called back to be sent to the back of the line AGAIN. When I was visibly mad he told me I need to take care of theses guys first. And they all were guys. BUT THAT WASNT THE WORST! When he finally decided to help me, he WAS BELITTLING AND because I couldnt remember the name of the guy I originally spoke with he treated me like I was an absolute idiot.I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!!!

Im waiting on storm windows now . orderd 8-10-18 was told they would be ready in 7 days .. 18 days later i get a call and they asked me if it was screen windows . Now im pissed
