I was giving it two stars 🌟 but the owner Steve was and is very pleasant and down to earth.Today my boys and I had milkshakes it was very milky. It was disappointing because we have been buying at this location for over 4 years.I dont blame the store, my 19 years old son told me they have new staff that are very young and it seems like they dont know what they are doing. With training and experience they will be better God willing.

I am not a big fan of ice cream but ice cakes are there delicious. I orderer it in Clifton location every single year on my child birthday. Special thanks to Barbara who always put all her heart to prepare it.

PLEASE don’t give out melted ice cream. I appreciate the effort to provide us with the flavor we want but I have had to wait 2 hours for my ice cream to freeze and it’s still not completely frozen. Plus, when it froze, it was HALF the size of the ice cream I paid for which was a small size so it was significantly less than what I paid for. I love this Carvel but please take this into consideration. All the best.

Its a Carvels. Its not the fanciest, tastiest ice cream however, its consistently pretty tasty at a good price. The fancier places are sometimes almost twice the price hiaverr, not that much better so, poor value. At Carvels, your get your classic ice creams without having your wallet creamed. 😁

We got a guava sorbet, or lets sayOk 😔a guava colored sugared water to be more precise...horrible experience. I ordered a large coffee, pistachio, melted coconut and strawbery...to say the least none of the flavors were true to their names. I buy Carvel regularly in Hackensack and and decided to give a try to this locarion..first and last. Guys, get your flavor straight...really bad!

Good ice cream. Never go half hour before they closed girls start rushing you and they don’t even want to serve you.

I give this establishment 3 stars because my family and I had gotten ice cream today as a nice tear for good grades and the workers were extremely rude. Also they were taking forever to get everyone their ice cream and that when people started to pile up on the shop. I don’t think it is that bad of a place but just needs more staff!

Its Just OK as far as Carvels go. Standard soft-serve and then they have a decent number of regular ice cream offerings.For some reason the only low fat option is mint.

The employees are so cold, like you can at least smile it’s an ice cream shop. And they weren’t wearing gloves, nor the place was hygienic. Never going there again

Ordered on uber eats and got the wrong order, so I called and spoke to the driver, and he informed me that when he asked the employee before he left the store to double check it, he was told it was definitely the right order and that there was just a problem with the system - it was clearly and obviously not the right order.It was half the price of My order, the name was totally different and it had a different order number!! All in big bold black letters on the receipt!!The employees here are extremely rude, mildly incompetent and do not want to do their job - as we have had the same issue with the same Carvel multiple times.Drive an extra 10-15 minutes, or pay a higher delivery fee, and go to a different carvel because this one is so not worth the repeated aggravation and disappointment.

I just received my order like 5 mins through ubereats....when I went to give it to my sister as a feel better surprise, her sundae was HORRIBLE! This place gave my order to the driver a MESS. Whip cream and ice cream was all over the container and in the bag. And they had the nerve to staple the bag like if everything was good. Ive been here before and yes when they put a lid it leaks very little. But dang not all over the cup. Im giving two stars because it was not what expected. And I also gave my review to the driver. Not happy at all. I wish I can get my refund honestly. Very disappointed.

They didn’t have the banana for the split and still charged me extra for the every topping. Since they didn’t have what we wanted I don’t know why she still charged for the banana split. I said I should be substituted a topping and said pineapple, I was given all rotten pineapple dropped over my ice cream so we couldn’t even eat it, my grandkids were so disappointed since I got them the same and we always look forward to carvel.... so sad this location was a such a fail, I don’t think we will ever go back. 0 stars

Love this place and theyre ice cream Is the best

Carvel advertises a free ice cream on your birthday. I came with my daughter on her birthday and I brought her passport to prove it was in fact her birthday. The woman behind the cash refused to give her the free cone since I was supposed to have a coupon. I offered to Google it on my phone and she argued with me that it needed to be a paper coupon. Seriously? I was appalled at her behaviour and that she wouldnt bend the rules for the 3$ ice cream. Not exactly the customer service I would expect from Carvels.

The best ice-cream place in Clifton by far! Barbara, who runs the place is amazing. Great service, very professional and always helpful. I’ll definitely suggest this Carvel to my friends.

Carvel is located on Van Houten Avenue in Clifton it’s a older looking Carvel and kind of has an outdated look but the ice cream here is really good something I really like about the score is that on Wednesdays you can get buy one get one free Sundaes And they taste pretty good the service here is also very good as well overall I highly recommend this carvel location

Understaffed (2 employees serving a dozen or more line of customers), the couple of bistro tables for eat-in seating were dirty with sticky sundae toppings, the floor was littered and what appeared to be a fairly recent whitewash of the counter and ice cream cooler facade was already showing numerous areas with either pastel remnants of ice cream stains or areas that were poorly covered by a too thin coat of white paint.The ice cream was tasty, the help was courteous, but the conditions made things less appetizing. The Carvel just 10 min away on McBride Ave. In Woodland Park (West Paterson) has a much cleaner, more updated look.

Really good and inexpensive ice cream. Usually pretty durty inside tho. Always really crounded in the summer when many kids from the park neer by (little kids all the way up to high school). Very messy and under staffed. Overall way better ice cream in the area but still good if you really want some deciding ice cream and are in the area. Could be cleaner but good ice cream.

Excellent Carvel!! Very clean and ice cream is the best. Ive been to other Carvels and I dont know if theres a way to turn machine off but,the ice cream is warm and soft. It melts as soon as its handed to you. Unlike here, theirs is the way it should be. Also which is very important, the workers are friendly and polite.

I really wanted a chocolate ice cream soda. The girl looked at me like I had 3 heads. Then she asked what flavor soda. I guess she thought I wanted a float. I actually had to tell her how to make it and she still got it wrong (she didnt put in the milk).It always looks so dirty.Anyone saying its the best ice cream doesnt know good ice cream!

I just want to say this Carvel out did themselves for my daughter! My daughter is obsessed with the Disney movie FROZEN. I am a single mother and just cant afford a $200.00 customized cake. I placed an order on line with the colors that most resembled the scenes from FROZEN (PURPLE BLUE WHITE) . In the description box I asked if they would draw snowflakes because I was going for a FROZEN theme. When I went to pick up the cake I was overwhelmed with joy. I went to Target and bought little characters to place on top of the cake. My daughter was so happy when we sang happy birthday. THANK YOU!

I just went to carvels a few minutes ago to get some ice cream and I walk in and they tell me that the store is closed. The store had an open sign so I just didnt understand and they had assisted a customer before me as well. I am really upset because I went right after a long day at work and took the trip to get some ice cream & was not assisted at all. Is this really the way they do business?

Expensive and never dealt with people that were so cheap. Tried to ask for an extra napkin and they charge me extra. Later, I asked for a cup for my soda and charges me for a paper cup. I found out that Restaurant Depot sells a 5 gallon of all their flavors for $15 dollars.

My Sister and I went to the Carvels on VanHoutten in Clifton last night with our children. First of all, the place smelled like spoiled milk, the floor and every table were dirty. The radio was blasting music with profanity. The girl who took our order did not wash her hands or put on gloves and was unexplainably rude. We still purchased the ice cream because it was already 8:30pm, we had promised the children ice cream and werent sure of any other local places.

Wednesday is Sundae at Carvel. Buy one, get one free. Cant beat it.
