With so many of the larger corporate owed sporting goods stores going so woke, it was good to shop at this tried and true Big-5 location where everything somehow seemed the same as its been for decades (without seeming outdated).It was a breath of fresh air...

We found a great back pack for school for my daughter here and it was only 25 bucks, who knew huh?

Good shoes but low on stock...they will find it at their other stores for you though.

My daughter needed a bigger backpack they had various ones but a little pricey for being on sale... They didnt have hydroflask and customer service could be better

I have been to several Big 5 locations, and the moment I walked into this one, I was so impressed. It is very clean and neat and well kept. So much so that I stopped the Assistant Manager to let her know how impressed I was.

Bought me some hiking boots great price $19.99 were $24.99 n some hiking socks..

I had been going to Big 5 for many many years and his staff was very pleasant and willing to help you and I had help for getting some shoes the gentleman that helped me with very pleasant and really just made me felt to help me it was very clean they do an outstanding job helping the customers and that helped me a great deal keep up the good work and thats for sure

No one knew anything. All of the employees when asked any questions gave a deer in the headlights look. When I asked for sizing for shoes the guy had to double check SEVEN TIMES then Told me they didnt have that size.... I picked up the shoe and said this is the size... He says oh. Yeah. Nothing was priced. When asked what prices were, I was given rough estimates by a different employee, then said he would check. He had to come back 3 different times because he kept writing the wrong SKU. Just .. dont.

The store employees are helpful. The store is clean, decent prices.

Walked in maskless. Little tyrant at the front door said excuse me, do you have a mask?He didnt ask if I was exempt which I am.Tired of these little tyrants on a power trip. Do you want my bussiness or not? I am guessing not.

I went here for their sale on Bearpaw boots and was not disappointed. I got a black tall pair on sale for 45 dollars. I also purchased 2, 10 dollar sleds as we were going to take a trip to the snow. The sleds worked great and my kids had a blast. My boots are comfortable and well made. I am already making plans for future boot purchases. 👍

They dont have bikes assembled on the floor to check out for size or features. Wouldnt mind having to buy in the box, but wont buy unseen.

Even though I always have to ask for assistance instead of employees asking me if they can be of assistance, theyre pretty good being helpful. I wish this location had more square footage because they pack a lot of stuff in a small place and that makes it hard to maneuver in the store. Prices are great with their app and selection is not bad. Parking has never been a problem here and its in a decent neighborhood. Things may change with access when the new Costco is built behind them, but I hope not too badly.

Very negative experience! Went to buy a Fishing License 25 minutes later they tell me that I need to go to the Fish and Game department because the system said that I wasnt a citizen. Guess who created the issue, the employee who was doing the fishing License. Screwed up with my address multiple times and never could type the correct address to match each other. I questioned his mistakes and he told me that he fixed his mistakes and stated that I had to go get my license from the Fish and Game. Now were over 40 minutes into this. I had a lot of items I was planning to purchase for my fishing trip but just left them at the register. Went to Fish and Game, guess what? They told me that the employee screwed up the purchase with NON MATCHING ADDRESSES. Hmmmm same thing that I questioned the employee on. So once I drove to a different City because of the employees error I finally got a license. Thanks Big 5 for creating the problem and wasting my time and Money!

Instant attitude from a manager who came to clear out the bottleneck of 5 or 6 customers while rest of the staff had better to do, apparently. There was a single, oblivious cashier (named Summer) who would not make eye contact with anyone in the line. Sorry Im not waiting in line to buy an inner tube during your Monday morning meeting on the sales floor, only to be met with passive-aggressive snarkiness from a manager. Ill buy it on Amazon, minus the attitude, thanks.

The product I needed was In-Store Only and in stock at this location. When I arrived and asked where I could find it, a manager was called. He then informed me that yes, they do in fact have the item, a watermelon printed blow-up beach ball, but that it was in the back with their off-season merchandise. When I asked if there was any way someone could grab one for me, adding Id be happy to wait, he said no because Id have to look for it in all sorts of boxes, I dont wanna do that.Im at a complete loss for words, besides the ones Im using now, at the utter laziness and callous attitude towards a customer. Sure, I felt disrespected, but I feel worse for the employee to be so unhappy in his position that he simply refuses to do his job. Poor guy.

Asked a sales person if they had ankle straps and he said they dont sell them. I walked around because I was also shopping for a weight lifting belt and guess what I found.......the ankle straps! The cashier was nice and helpful.

Went to the Big 5 in Clovis to buy ammo. Asked the person behind the gun counter for 12 gauge ammo. The sales person sold us ammo which will not work for our 12 gauge. Big 5 refused to exchange or return this ammo minutes after purchased. Fortunately the gun sales persons mistake was discovered before anyone was hurt by using this ammo.

After 25 years of shopping at this location, I stopped shopping at Big 5 after receiving terrible customer service and a dispute over their merchandise return policy. I recently went back with a friend who needed to outfit his son for Little League. He had a lot of questions and Ashley (I think she might be a supervisor/manager) provided such outstanding customer service. She talked with me about my previous experience and worked with me to resolve my previous concerns. I wish I could receive such great service everywhere I go. Ill definitely be back in soon. Good place for shoes. My son found two pairs after over a year with his old favorites.

This is more of a 3 and 1/2 star.I was greeted upon when entered. However, when I went to the back looking for a certain pair of shoes, approximately seven minutes, no one asked if I needed help. I asked for help. Store was fully staffed too.

Great place I was reading in the next 5 years big 5 should go under (bankrupt) but this is a great place and we need stores like this they have alot of helpful camping and sports supplies come on corporate find a way to keep these stores open

Store agents were not very attentive. I asked for help to get something off the top shelf, I was told someone would come but they never did. After my second request someone finally came to help. In case you are wondering there were only a few customers in the store besides myself, so it was not busy.

Horrible. Absolute garbage customer service..Will never go to this big 5 again. I walk in to get a camera behind a glass section waiting to be helped and Im completely ignored. Homeboy in the office I can hear yacking on the phone with 2 way glass..he ignores me. I waited 10 minutes with no one bothering to assist me. So demanded help and scolded these customer service rep women who saw me waiting and didnt help. Maybe a racial thing..they were all of Hispanic origin and im white..who knows.

Their systems are archaic. Unable to retrieve card purchases in 2019? Was told their ancient system wasnt set up to see purchasing method. So keep your receipt unless you want store credit. Might just be a tactic of a dying business to keep more money in store. Either way the lack of convenience pushes me to shop elsewhere.

Great store, but items I want are usually out of stock in my size. Its still fun going here and not out of the way since I usually stop at PetSmart at the same time.

Sometimes short staffed considering the amount of people that show up for their sales- if youre gonna advertise discounted items for a 1 day or weekend/ holiday sale, you should have the manpower to attend to the amount of customers you anticipate will shop there...
