I took a friend here. The young lady at the front were you take your car for repairs. Knew her job, was very knowledgeable and courteous.
I can not say enough about the quality and service of my most recent visit. Not only was the staff courteous and patient, they helped me with coupons and discussed my warranties etc.Nobody does that anymore. Going the extra mile is still in style and they proved it today.Much appreciated!!
Great costumer service. Steven was extremely nice and informative. It is very comforting to know there is a reliable auto service nearby! Thanks again, Steven!
I was going out of town on Friday and thought I needed a new tire. I went to Pep Boys explained as best as I could how the car was driving and I needed at least one tire. Mike and the guys checked each tire and found nothing wrong. Mike even test drove car for me and said it drove fine. As a Woman I really appreciated His honesty and help. It is hard to find people you can trust who are not trying toget over. I truly respect him for this. My go to place from now on!
I’ve gotten service here for several years because I work in this area. I ask for the same service- oil change- each time. It’s approximately 40$. Today I ask fir the same service, I have an account, the total over 100 dollars. She tells me this is the same service I received last time. I request she look it up. It’s not. She up sold the service thinking I wouldn’t ask. The manager is standing there and says nothing. I will never return to this shop! I write lots of positive reviews because I respect customer service… Why lie?
Had a 11:30 appointment and my car still hasnt been touched. The employees are nice but this is uncalled for. If you want a long wait this is the place for you.
Worth every penny, Great customer service and excellent work. It is slightly higher priced than the smaller car shops, but it is worth it. They are very good with honoring their warrenties on product, I never feel they are trying to get over on me. I definitely recommend to family, friends or anyone in need of car work.
Even though they were short staffed, they still made sure to fit in my oil change, even if it took an extremely long time.
Steve and Mike were super nice and very helpful. Place was busy on a Friday but I can see why. Still treated you like you were an old friend.
Pep Boys was busy but they managed to get my flat tire fixed
Service was great manager was kind of a dill pickle. Had my car setting there for a looong while after they finished because they were waiting on estimate. They have my phone number....
Great place gets very busy. Just does not open at 730am. Try 8am.
Our appointment was at 8:30 and we arrived on time. We waited for atleast 5 minutes before the staff waited on us and all they were doing was talking to each other. The customer waiting area is filthy and smelly. They never took our car back until 9:05 and we didnt get it back until 9:45. We will not be back. I dont recommend.
Arrived early to drop off my vehicle, says they open at 7:30am and I didnt get in the building until 8pm which made me late for work. Waiting to hear from them about the services I asked for....
My experience was so good, I had to create another account just to get my point across. Mike, your the absolute best. Marie- keep smiling :)
Excellent service! Mr. T is the best mechanic. Prices are so low and service is so good that Id even drive 1000+ miles if I had to just to get my car serviced there no matter how small the issue is. Had a tyre repair and I wasnt even charged! I could go on and on but trust me, you will love it there.
No problems whenever I use them to do jobs that I cannot get to myself.
I cannot thank these guys enough for their help the other day!My now husband and I were having wedding issues (Thank you 2020!) and a few issues caused us to rush to Charleston to try and find a new venue for our wedding which was the following week. I needed an oil change and did not want to just top off the oil on such a long drive. We tried to stop at a shop across the street from us and could not even find someone inside. We were about to just hit autozone and the road when I saw Pep Boys. We swung in and asked if they could do a fast oil change. They asked how long we had, I said about 15-20 minutes (we had to get to Charleston before sun started setting so we could get a good view of our potential venues). Those guys pulled my car in and emptied the oil as they set me up in the system. He pushed through the ticket and BAM! They put the oil in and we were on the road in about 15 minutes later. They were so great about it and honestly appreciated it so much. I know I will not be able to get an oil change in 15 min every time, but in the time of need, it mattered the most! I look forward to their business in the future!
The staff was super nice but I waited 2 hours today on an oil change. Apparently they noticed I needed new tie rods. I drive a 95 S10 there are 10 things you could fix on it! I know this but I came for a simple oil change. Instead of spending an hour and a 1/2 diagnosing just change my bloody oil! !!!!!!!!!!
Im never going anywhere else. The staff- oh Mike, you really have a way with words when you say im going to do everything I can to get you the best deal possible. You really know how to make a lady smile ;)
The female in the tire center was not pleasant.
UnicornHorn is a liar. I was there. You know why? Because unicorns dont exist. But fantastic service at a great rate by friendly staff- does.
They will not answer the phone it literally took me over 30 mins or longer to get someone to answer the phone
Ok if your going to close your store for whatever reason thats your choice but is it really that too much to ask that you let people know before they drive all the way to your store? Evidently so. No signs. Nothing posted online. Its just a set of locked doors to welcome people. On to advance auto parts i guess.
Wonderful customer service at this location! Purchased tires here before moving to CT and called after my move to inquire about a guarantee with the tires as the Pep Boys in CT was refusing to honor it and Logan at this SC location went above and beyond to help me today and I truly appreciate it!
The only boys I trust in the business. My Pep Boys. 4 life. You guys really make a Doctor Feelgood!
Beyond exceptional service! Steven at the Broad River road location was extremely awesome and helpful!! Bought four new tires from him and the guy that put them on took his time and did the job flawlessly even though it was after closing time.. (We came in at 6:30 PM and there were others) They were busy and low on guys in the Pitt area but we were not turned away, Steven even explained that the price online was cheaper and we would be better off ordering it and then paying in store. We were unable to pick a time on the current day for a service reservation but Steven said that was no matter, pick a day and he would change it around and I quote Get some new rubber on those rims My wife and I really enjoy Pep Boys and will most likely never buy tires from anywhere else as long as people like Steven are around! Thank you!
Apparently scheduled appointments don’t matter. Had an appointment at 8am this morning and my car didn’t move from its parking spot by 9:20 so I politely asked for my keys back.
Great staff and fast service. I will be a regular customer.
It was good
Team was great! Handled multiple customers at the same time and finds away to make everyone feel like they are the most important.
The service is not that good. You have to wait a long time with your appointment. And they dont know how to look up anything in the computer
Bought 4 tires online got to my appointment the next day 1/2 hour early spent 2 hours waiting for tire they didnt have that was 8 miles away.next time try Firestone
Went on 9/20/20 to get an oil change only to realize that I didnt get one because my car is still saying I still need an oil change even after my husband reset the button. How do youll charge me for something that I didnt receive.
I went to buy 2 tires and told them I didnt want the road hazard protectionand that Im taking care of my own tires ( taking old tires with me) . Ask for military discount. They give discount and still charged for the road hazard and tire disposal. When I ask them to verify that he says is not included in price. But in receipt its showing it is. Will not go there again. You have to go over before you pay . Over charging before military discount and then saying they took that off.
We called to make an appointment and they never even put us down for it now we have to wait longer because we didnt have one. What is the point of saying you can make an appointment when it dont do any good. 🤔🤬
I was traveling and noticed a nail in my tire I stopped in for them to check it and repair it if necessary. Steven was great with assisting me and getting me on the way. I would recommend going here but make sure you talk to Steven for your needs.
Tommy, Bryan, and Ronnie were life savers. In the middle of our road trip our brakes started to give us a problems and these three guys went above and beyond to fix our car at the end of their shift so that my family could safely continue our trip. I could write a book about how impressed I was with their service. These guys are great and I thank them all for the great service. I will never take my vehicles any where else. Thanks pep boys.
Good service
Oil change was done quickly and everyone was very friendly
Worst customer service ever from this location, should close it completely down not just the retail side, waited at desk for 20 minutes no one can over to help me with my purchase or greet me, just lost 4 new tire sale !!!!
Good people in the Service Dpt. Very helpful. 20 year old male went above and beyond in customer service and I was so impressed.
Very easy to work with, and made the whole process simple. They were all great.
Brian the assistant tire manager and Adrienne the assistant store manager were very helpful and kind to me. Steven, Jimmy, and Daniel were nice to me too! Thank you!
Went in to price new tires for my Tahoe. They had buy 3 get 1 free deal on name brand tire. Steven the service manager, was very professional and knowledgeable about his product. Needless to say he sold me on the new tires. I will be a returning customer.
Personnel in the shop are the reason this location is open. Good guys.
Steven and Charlotte were awesome and very helpful today! Thank you guys!!!!
Great place to get work done. However, they take a very long time to acknowledge that your vehicle is complete with whatever it is that you needed done. Got a tire changed, and it took them more than 30 minutes to let me know that it was done and ready to be paid for. Oh, and I was sitting in the lobby, meaning, no courtesy call was necessary since I was around the front desk clerk and all other employees. To include the mechanics who put the tire on. The rates were good, and they have some of the lowest prices in town for tires.
Always have great service here. Tire prices were the best I could find. Oil changes are good price but sign up for their member savings card. It is free!
Went there to get some bulbs for my car. I was told by the workers there that the bulb is the correct one for the car.I get home and find out it is not the correct one so I go back 4 hours later and was informed that they would not return the bulbs.I will never shop there again and have contacted my bank
Outstanding serv
Great service, Fixed my car 2011 Toyota Prius with no issues, prices are competitive with other mechanics and these guys seem more trustworthy than your average mechanic.I plan on taking my car back here in the future, thanks.
Thank you to Steven the manager, the belt on my bmw was broken and he went above and beyond to fix my car! I did get upset but he was very professional and he didnt even charge me for the work! Great customer service! Im very thankful!
Did not carry the right size for the product which I seek. The store was clean. No one to assist you in finding the product in which you seek. You are on your own.
My son took my car in for an oil change. Twenty minutes after he left the store he called me and said it was running a good bit warmer than normal. When it cooled off enough that we could check it, any water that we put in it ran straight through and out the bottom right at to the oil pan. My son called this morning to tell them about it and they told him that they didnt touch the cooling and that it would be a charge to check it. When I called I tried to explain to the assistant service manager, James, that less then twenty minutes after leaving his care a car that was fine will now no longer hold water. His response was, I dont understand why your making this such a big deal. The care will not hold water and is leaking less than six inches from the oil pan, where they worked. So one of two things: either they damaged the car and sent it out knowingly or they still knowingly sent out the car with a water leak because of the leaks location. That is a big deal. We are having it towed back now just to see if PepBoys is going to make it right or not. But for the moment, Im giving one star because I cant go any lower.
Scheduled a 2pm appointment for tire balance and rotation. Arrived at 1:54pm, and told there is an hour wait despite the appointment. At 3:17pm the worker is pulling my vehicle into a bay. Harsh rating?? I think not. I was held prisoner for 25mins worth of work. (I finally made it out at 3:45pm.)UPDATE: Got home and discovered that the mechanic didnt secure something correctly because there is a part if my underpinning hanging from my car. Headed back to get THIS property attached. I expect to be compensated for my time and trouble.
The guys at the Pep Boys on Broad River Road are a great team! I always visit this location for my oil changes and new tires, but what what really endeared me to this Pep Boys was when I had my first major car repair (new radiator hose and water pump). They made sure I understood the problem and were quick to fix it. They really sympathize with their customers and understand that major car repairs are never convenient and rarely easy on the budget, but they really worked with me (and my budget) and were able to get me back on the road in the same day. I will definitely use them again in the future!
I went in last Saturday to get my brakes and alignment checked. I called the day before, and was pleasantly surprised to get a morning appointment. I was worried a Saturday appointment might take all day, but they had me done in around 2 hours. Katie and T. were great. Everything was explained to me, they kept me updated throughout, and checked to see if I had questions. The cost was reasonable and I can tell a big difference in how the car drives now.
Initially I was hesitant to bring my car in to be serviced after reading the reviews, but I appreciate the management addressing concerns posted about them. The staff was friendly, made sure I was properly educated on the services I needed and informed me every step of the way with the service needed! They definitely will be my first option for any service I may need in the future.
Walk in an with few seconds, was apporched an ask what need need. Was told exactly where I need to go to find my product. Once I found or tried to find it within a couple of minutes the same person that told me where it was that came and went directly to what I was looking for. With a big smile on her face we both laughed because she went directly to it love the service will be back.
I dont usually write reviews but I felt the need to warn people to get second opinions before getting things they recommend fixed. 1st I had an 8 am appointment and the mechanic didnt get to work until around 8:15-8:30. I told them my windshield wipers werent working so they charged me a flat $49 electrical diagnostic fee. All I saw them do was lift the hood and turn on the wipers . They didnt even take off the cover that covers part of the base on the broken wiper .After the short inspection they said I needed a new wiper leverage arm thing and quoted me $150 for the part to be shipped in by Tuesday and around $400 total for the fix . I paid my electronic diagnostic fee and went to my dealership to order the part because I usually use them but they were booked for the next 5 days. The parts guy at my dealership didnt want me to order a part I didnt need so they squeezed me in and it turned out the problem was just a loose bolt on the wiper .If pep boys would have taken the time to take the cover off and inspect the wiper blade bolts they would have seen this. I wouldnt trust them to fix any car that isnt common. I will stick to JTs Fiat and never visit this location again even if its an emergency .UPDATE: Pep Boys social contacted me and set up an investigation. Monday 12/17 I got a call from Pep Boys on Broad River saying they are reimbursing me and speaking to the mechanic so that in the future he will just admit when he isnt familiar with a car type instead of randomly guessing whats wrong. Im glad Pep Boys reached out to me but due to them not really knowing much about my Fiat I cant go back. Maybe if I had a more common car I would try them again. I have gone from a 1 star review to two based on the customer service to reconcile my bad experience.
Quick service price was a question at first but cleared up after discussed with service manager. Was happy with how fast I got in when no other repair center could help. Will try out the oil change service.
Horrendous customer service.Poor planning and customer focus.I set an appointment for 3pm and arrived 15 min early. As I walked into the door there were 3 employees behind the counter. I stood directly in front of the counter for a solid 20 seconds before I initialized conversation around my appointment, which was met begrudgingly. They began to explain that their only technician had been working all day and would be on lunch for another hour. I understand hardworking people needing a break but how is their lack of planning my problem when Ive planned my only day off around this appointment? If theyd reached out to revise said appointment Id be writing a different review. Its the complete lack of consideration and lack of interest and urgency here. I will never return.
I bought 2 sets of tires here 8 tires in total within 3 yrs I was over charged& had to call the police out to get my money back. Employee David& manager Todd were no short of racist. Im 63 200lbs& 37 yrs old& was referred to as boy. After all my trouble due to their mistake, they tell the police the camera didnt work so I wouldnt press charges on David ( threw something at me). I advise strongly to use other options than support this kind of place
Jim is a great guy. Really hardworking. Always helps me to get the parts I need for my truck.
I like how Im treated as a female car driver. Ive been coming here for years, and staff is nearly always respectful when Im talking about my vehicle. I especially like James. Hes really nice, and seems to have car-ESP.
Free tire air
The service was excellent in and out at a good time would recommend people to use them 🙋♀️
My fiancé and I have been here a few times for our old vehicle and they have been top notch in customer service and reliability. However, it was their customer service when I received horrible service from the dealership that won me over. Seriously, go here if you need quality work done at an affordable price.
Three joke calls. More than a 20 minute hold for each call. The service department is horrible as drove to Pep Boys thinking they were busy. I stood in the store and watch then letting the phone ring and not answering. When they did answer they asked “do you mind holding for a moment? .... and never went back to the phone.
Pep Boys Auto Service on Broad River Road in Columbia, SC, is wonderful! Ive taken my car in several times now over the past year, and Ive always been completely satisfied with the service Ive received. The guys who work the auto service desk are courteous and concerned. They and the technicians work hard to fix your car correctly the first time and to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. I appreciate the time they take to explain what repair is needed and why, so that I dont feel that Im being taken advantage of. Every service Ive received from this store has been first rate.Warning: not all Pep Boys are created equal. I recently took my car into Pep Boys on Savannah Hwy, Charleston, SC. Not only did they fail to fix the problem, but Im pretty certain that they replaced the wrong tires on my car (discovered a month later when my car continued to give me problems).
Place is not very organized
Thank you TJ and James, from Tires & Service, and Adriene, from the Auto Parts side! I appreciate all of the time and advice that you provided! Great staff! I definitely recommend this store. They are honest and they actually want to help you!!
This place has shut down without warning, the service department is still open, but Google could have warned me.
The guys at the shop were very friendly. Quick service too given how busy it was when we got there.
The wait time is always long. And after my experience with them last year, I will not be taking my car back. It started in October, when they assured me all I needed was new brake pads and rotors all around. They kept my car for maybe a total of 4 days, I remember having a rental for at least part of it not the whole week, as soon as I got the car back and started driving, it overheated and broke down in the middle of the freeway in Columbia. I had to get it towed back to be told that the front brakes need to be replaced and I needed new calipers as well. They fixed it after having my car for 3 days and when I got it back to the hose to my radiator with split and they said that didnt happen while they had my car. But what didnt make sense it that they change the calipers and looked in my car they would have noticed the radiator hose was split because I noticed it from the time I got in the car and started driving. I then had to bring my car back after work after I had already talked to someone about what happened they told me they didnt have any hoses for my car and I had to leave it there again for about 2 days. This was all within a month and I probably spend somewhere around $1,500 if not more because they misdiagnosed the problem. And after I got my car back the first time I told him that there was still some smoking coming from the brakes but they assured me that was the rubber burning off of the new brakes and/or rotors. And after months of my car continuously overheating due to the brake issues, the motors, fans and entire heating system needs to be repaired and replaced.
Got to Go Here!! They went Above and Beyond to make me save in my Vehicle.😎
I dropped my truck off at 8:15 am for an oil change and tire rotation. Told them specifically I had a 11:00 appointment, was told no problem. I received a phone call at 9:30 to come pick it up they were done. Got there at about 10:00, first thing I looked at was the tires of course they werent rotated. I didnt have the time to wait for this service since thats one of the reasons I dropped it off. Also a $49 oil change ended up being $73 ( without the full service being preformed) ? TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
I called yesterday to the Broad River location for a quote on having a headlight replaced. I was quoted $104 total...$16 for the headlight and the rest in labor. The employee tried to tell me that they would have to remove my bumper to put in the headlight. I told him that the access was above the tire but he insisted otherwise. Im 30, female, and very pregnant but with one trip to another auto parts store ($14 headlight) and a 5 min youtube video, I had completed the job myself in 10 mins...through the entrance above the tire. Ive had previous experiences with this establishment...always expensive and always time consuming.
Very good, competent technicians, especially, Phil M., hes excellent. Very thorough, and honest in his evaluation of whatever your mechanical problems might be. Quality wormanship.
Inexpensive and handles common tasks well. Vehicle inspection information (like tire tread depth) provided to customer is usually missing or falsified. Do not have many advanced technicians like electrical specialists available
Appointments are not actually appointments. Its just when they want you to drop it off. I had an oil change appointment and they said it would be at least 45 minutes before they would even start on it. They also left the cover off my wiper blade arm, which fell off the cars roof as I drove away and only latched one of the air filter cover latches and filled my tires to three different pressure levels with a five pound spread between them.Im wondering what else they did wrong on the things I cant see. I was not impressed with the attitudes of some of the people working at the counter, either.
This is long overdue..july 4th weekend of 2017 we were traveling from florida to winchester virginia. had a major breakdown on that sunday, water pump and serpentine belt. got towed to this pep boys which was open for routine maintenance such as oil changes, etc...that monday was the 4th but they were open for repairs and fortunately had the two parts needed. must have pushed our car to the top of their get-to list because at 10:30 monday morning they called letting us know it was ready. wonderful and friendly, asked if i was a veteran which i am so they gave me the veterans discount as well. the hotel the clerk recommended was also great too. considering our circumstances the outcome was as best as we could have hoped for.
Oil change. Great staff. work to get you back on the road in a timely manner
I have had to rescue my husband 3 times on the interstate for a flat tire. Weve gone to this particular Pep Boys every time. This particular trip it took way longer than usual.
My family and I went on a vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and on our way back home my daughters tires blew out and I had to have her vehicle towed to Pep Boys. Being from Kentucky, I did not know a single thing about this area or what to do. But Pep Boys tended to our problem and looked after all of us. I can never repay the service or the kindness that was shown to us buy those guys in the service department. I have never felt so humbled by the treatment that we received here. I truly with all honesty tell you if you are ever in that area and need service on a vehicle give those guys a visit! You will not be dissatisfied! Great people and I thank them so much from the bottom of my heart!
I went into Pep Boys today to get a new cabin filter and the service was superb. Everybody was knowledgable, friendly, and helpful! I would recommend this location to anybody in the area.
Helpful staff, fast and friendly. Its my new go to for automotive .
I was able to order the part I needed online and go to the store within 15 minutes and pick it up. I didnt have to pay for it until I got there
Absolutely horrible experience I had my car towed in and looked at the first time the manager misdiagnosed my car which left me stranded yet again then when the the car cut off and had to be towed back in once again. The manager Danny is rude and flat out disrespectful I will never set foot in the store again as long as he is there. The rest of the staff were amazing and helpful! I feel bad they have to deal with him! Please fix this!
Very helpful.... They put my windshield wipers on
Quick purchase of oil Fuel Inj Cleaner and valve stem caps A++
On Broad River Rd. The tires were expensive. The person who road tested my car never breathed a word about a strut or my ball joint may needed looking at. Everytime I went over a bump I would hear a loud noise on my driver side after I left Pepboys and I didnt have the problem going in.
Car was overheating losing coolant, ac wasnt working. I wanted and engine diagnostic and the free ac check. Well I got the phone call and the tech told me the visual of the ac system didnt give him any indication of the problem, and its $60 for a ac system check (mIdas is $30) so I declined. The running hot issue which required a pressure check didnt tell them where the leak was coming from and they suggested my heads was cracked and to get a new engine. They charged me $99 and so for a second opinon i took it to Mdias. Well a pressure test at midas was $30 and they found the problem immediately (my timing cover gaskets) so I call Pep boys like Hey i paid yall for nothing come to find out I was overcharged for a engine check when I shouldve been charged for a pressure test. Got my money back and will NEVER go back there. GO TO MIDAS!
I drove my car into pep boys on Sunday night. The store was closed so I hide my keys near the car and called the next morning and explain to the service tech where the keys were hidden. I called pep boys monday morning to explain why the car was there and what I thought was wrong with it . It was Wedsnesday before anyone looked at the car . When the mechanics did look at the car they just made random recommendations until my bill was $1,000 dollars . I went ahead and paid the bill but I know I paid for several repairs that did not have to be fixed .. This place is scam !!!!!! Stay away
My father and I went to pep boys to get my brakes done. They insisted I needed new routers to go with my brake pads so we got that done as well. About a or 2 in I came back because they we’re squealing so they did a brake inspection and noticed the piston in my caliper was locked so I needed a whole new caliper, which they should have seen the first time when they replaced my pads. I had them put the tires back on and left the store, as I cross the street the first thing I notice is that my brakes had little to no pressure because they did not bleed the brakes, I go back and ask the manager and he says that is normal for a locked piston but I had no issue driving before they took my system apart and inspected it. So my uncle puts a new caliper on the front left tire and bleeds the brakes and we’re fine. Not long into driving my brake on my front right tire that the same pep boys put brand new pads and routers on locks up on me in the middle of the road and I barely make it into a hospital parking lot and had leave my car over night. The caliper was missing 1 whole bolt and the other was broken so it was sliding up and down the router. On my reciept it says that I had new routers and brake pads installed, and I had a brake system inspection done, I feel as though the mechanic did not inspect my vehicle at all just slap it together
Called at 4:00 to go do an inspection. Got there at 5:00. He said it would be about an hour and a half. Waited at the store for two hours then he walks up to me and says we wont have enough time today. All I needed was a inspection. Would of only taken 15 min. I was pissed!!!
They are helpful people
