I have been taking my cars to Tom since 2005. He is honest, and also a really good mechanic. He kept my 1989 Saab Turbo convertible going well-past its normal life-span, and also found me another to take its place when it finally succumbed to old age. This is the best auto shop I have ever worked with.
This is a great shop for those with European cars looking for a trustworthy mechanic. Twice now I have brought my Passat in for pretty major repairs and they have always given me accurate estimates, completed the work quickly, and are super knowledgeable. The last repair I had been planning to do myself, but with my schedule filling up I needed a pro to do it. I went in to talk to them and they didnt even need to look it up to tell me what all would be involved; to know even the broad strokes of a 6+ hour engine repair process on a 14 year old vehicle that had three different engines is astounding. Hats off to them, and I will definitely be recommending them to everyone I know with a European car.
Never have I had such a poor experience getting work done on my car than I have had with this place. I paid to have my brake pads and roters replaced which was done fairly, however the so-called mechanic that did the work on my car somehow forgot to tighten ANY of the lugnuts on the front left tire. As a result, my tire came off of the hinge of my car while riding on the highway right after getting it fixed and now I am dealing with the damages caused by this man and his poor business. If I could give a rating of 0 stars I most certainly would. Steer clear of this place if you are looking to actually get your car fixed instead of more damaged.
Ive been taking my 99 Saab 9-3 here for several years, on the recommendation of her previous Saab-specific mechanic in St. Louis. If you drive old Swedish cars (prior to the GM buyout), you know how difficult it is to find someone who really knows what theyre dealing with. These guys are outstanding- they always get the work done efficiently and the prices are always fair. They even throw in minor stuff now and then that I dont even ask for. For example, one time a piece of trim that I had forgotten was popping off was magically re-adhered (I noticed a week later and called to thank them). A couple years ago one of my console buttons hadnt been working and when I came to pick up the car for an unrelated repair they had swapped it out with one from a similar-year junker they just happened to have extra parts from, and it worked again! I had totally forgotten about it. They didnt charge me for it- they are just nice people who appreciate their customers. Anyway- I highly recommend them, especially for difficult import cars that require technicians with more specific training.
