I just want to know how to get a good used car for a teenager without it getting sold out from under us. Do we put money down when it is “in the shop for an open recall”? Do we put money down when it is “being detailed”? Do we sleep in the lot ? Because somehow a car was sold instantly when we had expressed interest in person, and several times though text .

Dealing with Randy Freeman and the staff at Mercedes-Benz of Columbia was a great experience. I live 5 hours away from this location. I found a used car they had posted online and decided to contact them about the car. 5 minutes later, Randy reached out to me to discuss the car. I told him I had a trade-in that would go towards my new purchase. He sent me a great offer on my old car. That Friday, I made the trip to their dealership and they had the car I wanted parked in front, clean, detailed, and full of gas. I took the car on about a 45 minute test drive and they gave me ample time afterwards to look over the car. Everything was as described. Crashed the faithful 01 E320 over an invisible divide honing in on the Holiday Inn one night in July 20 after a long days drive, and destroyed the right front tire, also damaging the right rear. Changed to the spare in the parking lot and quit for the night. Next morning, Saturday! But great luck! These guys were a mile away and open. Very considerate middle aged mechanic assessed the damage, installed two new tires up front, and I was on my way in less than two hours. The bill was about the same as an independent garage. Got back on I-70 with confidence. Set the cruise control at precisely 79 mph, and deftly skated past every police radar. Amazing how accurate it is, the best or nothing. No handling or vibration issues, magic carpet ride. I could have been Lewis Hamilton! These guys are truly a class act worthy of the brand!

My 3 star rating comes in at the integrity of the online description along with the follow up afterward when things were found to be much less than advertised. I get it. The site says disclaimer check and see if this listing is correct with your sales team. I did. They were wrong. That aside, I reached out to Mr. S.C. to find some sort of remedy, or perhaps selling my vehicle and purchasing another (what luxury vehicle doesnt have heated seats and keyless entry nowadays??), but I have received a very tepid response at best. The initial experience of buying my 2014 Silverado at Mercedes of Columbia was amazing. They were responsive to my questions and most was done via text. We had an amazing experience with David Facio. We were trading in our 2014 Lexus gx and wanted to get a crossover- the Lexus RX. There were specific features and color etc.that we wanted on the crossover.David knew what we were looking for and contacted us when the car was available. It had all of the required features we wanted plus others we had not considered. We did a trade and purchased the 2020 RX- sport model. He brought us the car to try out and when we made the purchase he explained all the details and technical functions and operations. He also held fast getting set ups completed through Lexus- even though he is a Mercedes dealer. His follow-up was consistent and his willingness to assist was well appreciated.
