Awesome! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Good variety of shoes and boots, very reasonably priced... we went to three other shoe departments and walked away quickly... they didnt have as much selection and were much higher in price, some of the personal in the other stores didnt even approach us. We came here as a last resort, just because we needed to get something...walked out with not just shoes for myself...but shoes for my husband...and a pair of boots for each of us. We added it up...for the price of one from the other store...we got two. Then had enough to buy for my husband. All with no sales pressure from anyone...the price and styles sold themselves. Save the other stores for your dress shoes...if you need affordable, quality sneakers or boots... hiking, work...this is the place to be. Thank you to everyone for their help...and the laugh! They made our day at checkout!

Im impressed. We live between two houses and up north, Academy Sports had the best price for a new bike for my son, so we ordered and had it shipped. Not realizing it was located down south where our other house is...we found yet another great deal and purchased a 2nd bike! The staff is very helpful, and items are in stock. Thanks Academy Sports!

I LOVED that Academy has a well charged electric buggy for me to use, their shoe selection is awesome, and they had the perfect pair in my size. Customer service is awesome !

Still a good enough store, but their selection of wide-sized boots has gone down significantly since I last shopped there. I used to be able to pop in, grab a 13W pair of the shoes I wanted (within reason) and be on my way. This time I went with my only specific requirements being waterproof boots and couldnt find a single pair barring some steel toes which kill the comfort factor for me. Sure I could shop online, but thats just not the way I do things. I still like the store, but this will not be my place to buy footwear anymore.

Nigel was super helpful! We needed to purchase products for a sport we have no experience with. He was knowledgeable, attentive and eager to help. The store as a whole is pretty well stocked with affordable products and a staff willing to assist.

Not a great experience.Purchased an outdoor stadium seat online, and picked on at this location. Should have been easy as the system said they had 4. The person responsible for putting together the order gave me one that matched and could not find the second. His solution was to offer me one of a different color, which looked slightly used (maybe on a shelf to long?), and was missing tags, had nicks in various locations. I reminded him that he could see if another location had the same mode. Reluctantly, he did check to find that the location in Harbinson did have the mode, and he placed it on hold for me. For this I am grateful.I go to the Harbison location. Not only was their customer service hands down, much better and efficient than the one on Forest Drive, the they had the exact model I was looking for, but it also had a shoulder strap and looked untouched. We checked...same SKU.I think next time, Ill make the longer drive for my future purchases.

I pick a pair of shoes of shelf. It was price $59.99. I goes to the register. The price is now, $97. I said wait a minute. That’s not the advertised price. I ask for the manager. After about five minutes. The manager comes. She want to go check the price. Oh, that’s not the real price. I can’t give the advertised price.Red light…! It’s not my fault the manager didn’t do her job. The rule. You pay the advertised price. Then they change the advertised price. I guess my skin has the wrong hue.

We went in looking for a specific piece of workout equipment. We didnt see what we were looking for but decided to browse the store. An associate stopped us and asked if we needed help. I told him what I was looking for and he offerer to go to the back and bring out a few pieces that hadnt been put on display yet to see if they met my needs. After he described what he had, I was pretty confident it still was not exactly what I was looking for and he advised I go online as the inventory is larger. He was correct. I found exactly what I was looking for 2 minutes after going onto the site. At checkout a staff member offered to order the product I wanted so it could get delivered to the store. We even got approved for an Academy card and got a 15.00 dollar discount on our 1st purchase. Staff was helpful and friendly. Store had a large variety of items, and was clean and bright.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. A young man helped measure shoes for my son and another helped me with bikes and brought them out and loaded them in the car!! Cashier was so happy and nice! We will be back!

I have the impression that Academy Sports was a quality place for sports merchandise.My recent visit was a complete embarrassment It’s like pulling teeth to get help.Most associates I saw had their faces buried in their cellphones.When I did “interrupt” someone for help he acted as if I was wasting his time, took me to a location in the store where the product of my interest was which was “out of sight, out of mind” then gave no details or interest in if I wanted to purchase. Then walked away with his face buried in his cellphone. Men’s tennis shoe selection was limited compared to recent visits.This is the clear advantage of using Amazon.You find what you need.You get what you want.....fast.I’d rather deal with Academy but if this is your new norm for customer service then don’t complain when Amazon runs you out of business. .

Shopped at this location for 5years. Wont spend another dime here now. GO ELSEWHERE. Customer experience has gone into the dumpster. Raised all their prices. Discontinued military benefits other than certain holidays only. Was my favorite place to shop for everything outdoors. Never again. Good riddance.

I call the store two times and needed to speak with a manager and then the manager changed up on me how rude but other than that the store is officially restocked nicely and big I would love to work there someday and come by there.

I have ordered the same hat 2 times now. They took my money both 2 times. I then get an email that the item is out of stock or unavailable!!! And again 7 days for my credit card authorization to be taken off. Love this sports and goods store! Has a large variety of indoor and outdoor items at great prices. Looking at buying this smoker before the summer is over. Im a BBQ grill master and love to cook! Academy also have great prices on various smokers for all of the grill master like myself!

This is a very large store with a huge assortment of sporting goods. I was there on a Saturday, mid to late morning, after a couple of boat/marine items. There were only 2 registers open. Granted, the line moved fairly quickly but with the number of customers in the store I was surprised no more registers were open. The other thing I wished they had was prices on either the item itself or the shelf. I had to look up several prices on my phone.Regardless, I am anxious to go back and explore the rest of the store.

It was okay. They didnt have many shoes to choose from. But they do have several different departments. They do have alot of workout clothes for women..

Try on-line if you dont see it in the Store most any sports it is they can help you .

Large selection of gear and the store looked clean. However we passed multiple other customers that had their masks pulled down. The two staff members in the archery/firearms section were too busy just talking to each other to ask us if we needed to see anything. I did have questions about the single recurve they had but ended up just leaving. As I was walking away the other guy that was there finally just walked up and said, I dont mean to interrupt but I would like to get some ammo lol. Unless you need something same day, or need to try it on first, probably better off just getting it online.

Needed a pen laser light they didnt have but I was getting something else ..But 2 cashier and moving slow and 2 other cashier just leaning and taking??? Would of been nice for them to help with the long lines after I seen them I put it down and walked out I gusse they didnt need the busy so another couple walked too NO ONE want to wait in Long line for.1 item and out that would be a happy customer but instead writing this unhappy 😡
